The best restaurants serving Italian food in High Peak East Midlands

Despite eating out a few times a week I dont do many reviews - but i just had to tonight. Sensational food, magnificent service, great value and a lovely atmosphere to stop us worrying about the snow outside and how our two hour drive home tomorrow may pan out. Would recommend anyone coming to Buxton for a break to call into this family run (presumably) place. Blinking superb in every respect. Wish it was on my doorstep. Visited twice during a holiday in the Peak District and each time was wonderful. The food and atmosphere was lovely. Natasha is very friendly and welcoming, and chef Alex is brilliant. Important to book in advance as the restaurant is so popular, which is testament to how great it is. We look forward to our next visit.

First time here, not quite sure why I didn't go before. I enjoyed it. Food was good, service was efficient. Definitely worth considering.

As v regular visitors to the village, i nonetheless write this as a (sadly) non local. The Colosseo is absolutely rocking on a Sat night. Plush, upmarket feeĺing yet relaxed. Very good & expansive menu. Great vibe, busy & "towny" in a good way. My wife & I loved it. Really good food, ace service. A real treat in this perfect village. Thanks guys *UPDATED* We live in the village now & we're v fortunate that this is an easy go to. Always a delicious treat & the proprietors are very nice too. Also good to just pop in for a pint too.

My family celebrated my grandsons 5th Birthday here.All the food we had was absolutely beautiful.Also they have a large gluten free menu,which is what I needed.The staff were amazing so friendly and polite.Its my Birthday in January so I want to come back again.

Booked to go here for our short stay in Castleton. The food was so good we ate the following night and were very lucky they could squeeze in so definitely book ahead. Nothing g was too much for the fro t of staff and they made some fantastic recommendations. We loved the lamb and chicken shuffle truffle pasta dish. With a lot of ‘pub food’ establishments, it was really great to have food with a sense of occasion. Also had a very very nice bottle of Rioja which we would also recommend 🍷 If you’re going to Castleton - book it, you won’t regret it 😄

Great experience at this restaurant. Good menu with plenty of choice, all 4 of us had well cooked food and good service. Will return when next in the area. Food good value, wines maybe a little pricey but the list was impressive for a modest sized restaurant. Espressos need a bit of tweaking to get to a genuine Italian version but otherwise one of the best Italian restaurants we have been to in some time.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and we were not disappointed. No surprise there are so many good reviews. Due to time restraints and commitments in the area we maybe didn't get the full experience however, what we did get was great food, very welcoming & helpful staff in a pleasant ambience. We will be back...

Look to be quite honest, any Uber or pizza place which doesn’t take the restaurant off the app and still takes your money is a super disgrace lost a lot of respect for this place and word-of-mouth is karma in a nutshell.

Went for family meal, it was lovely, staff friendly and food very good. Steak cooked as I asked for and pasta gorgeous. We need to support local restaurants and bars and this one is a keeper

I was attending a concert at The Opera House and not knowing Buxton too well I planned to get there early, park up and look for somewhere to eat. I stumbled upon Caprinos and had probably one of best pizza's I have ever had. I had a 12" Pepperoni which was delicious. Very friendly staff and a good price. Would recommend.

Forgot part of the order, driver said he would return with the missing item and never did. Phone always to be occupied so could not call them to chase up. Stay clear! Food was far below average anyhow.
