Casa D'Italia in High Peak

Look to be quite honest, any Uber or pizza place which doesn’t take the restaurant off the app and still takes your money is a super disgrace lost a lot of respect for this place and word-of-mouth is karma in a nutshell.

Wednesday 8th March - We had booked for a party of five for a birthday celebration, all contact details left. We arrived on time, to a note on the door saying they were closed due to lack of staff. We had no contact prior to this. What a way to treat their customers.

The staff are very attentive and polite and food was also great, the restaurant was rather quiet though and not very atmospheric, other than that the food was great!

Went for a birthday meal, the food was excellent and the ambience was great and the staff were attentive.Will definitely return and hope it is just as good!. Thank you Casa D'Italia.

The starter was disgusting. Garlic prawns in like a bowl of tomato soup. The prawns were also stringy and you had to cut a lot off it off . The really bad thing is there was NO roast potatoes with the dinner. A Turkey dinner or anything with roast meat must always have roast potatoes. We asked for some but they gave us more boiled potatoes browned with what looked from under the grill. On the plate was a nice piece of sliced Turkey. However with a large piece of dark brown meat. There was also a lack of other vegetables. We had two sprouts, two Batons of carrot and 1 floret of broccoli plus 1 new potato cut in to 2. We were also very worried when making the booking many weeks ago for 2.15p m for 8 people to get a phone call the day before Xmas day to say it was 1 p.m for 4 people and the man who phoned us became quite angry on the phone when I stated it was for 8 people not 4. We have been going to casa ditalia every since it opened but were very very disappointed. W will NEVER return. Lastly there were also some delays serving the vegetables with the beef fillet which meant the beef was going cold. The total cost for 7 adults was £530. If I’d have enjoyed it it would have been fine.

It’s been a while since my last visit here but was so impressed I will be back soon. The staff were fantastic, the meal for all 3 of us was one of the best we’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend 😊

Arrived at 7 to a nice welcome & enjoyed a good bottle of red and a starter. Main course was a very long time coming & we had to chase it up. It arrived about 8.45. A rather well cooked Lamb shank with not enough gravy it was laid on a bed of mashed potato with not a glimpse of carrot or peas to lighten or even give colour to the dish. Disappointed really, apologies were offerred for the waiting time but they came too late to avoid a poor review. Might be a while before we re-visit which is a shame given its our neatest restaurant.

The restaurant is decorated well and the tables are set out well with a decent space between them. The service was good and the food was delicious. It was hot and we didn't have to wait a long time for it.

First visit last night to this hidden gem. Fancied trying out a new restaurant for a change! Were certainly not disappointed. The menu has plenty of variety. The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was buzzing and the staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again!!

We’ve been going to Casa Italia for years and it is hands down delicious. It has a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. Authentic and freshly made food which we all love. The pizzas are to die for and are a huge hit with everyone who tries them. I’ve brought friends from other places and they always reminisce about ‘that great Italian’ in Glossop. I like that the fish and seafood is always fresh and well considered and their meatballs are so good too. I could list all the dishes I love but it would take too long! The ambience is lovely and it’s down to the staff who all work so hard and make everyone feel welcome. If I’m doubt and you want a Beal in Glossop choose this place, it’s a gem!

Fantastic food, fantastic warm reception and atmosphere! Anna and the rest of the staff are lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them. My 18 year old son had a birthday celebration to remember and I can't recommend Casa D'Italia highly enough! Thankyou, we will be back soon!

Very good food and service visited last week with my parents due to it being number 1 on tripadvisor and it didn’t disappoint

Saw this restaurant when on the way home from a day out in Derbyshire, and decided to try it. Good welcome, offered choice of tables, although we hadn't booked. Service, from the man running the "front of house" was speedy, unobtrusive,and not pressured in any way. Food was excellent: cheesy garlic bread and Funghi Dolcelatte were phenomenal, and challenged our abilities to complete the main courses (in the end, a box was quickly supplied to take left-over garlic bread home.) Then tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, and linguine di mare were both excellent: the porcini were full of flavour, and the linguine di mare was full of a variety of fish, with a chilli bite. Deserts (Creme brulee, tiramisu) were good as well, and the bill was very reasonable for the food and drink that we had enjoyed. If / when we are in the area, we will certainly go back. Any negative points: the car park is a little small - you might have to park on the street! Is that the worst thing that can happen?

Excellant evening with family. The service was exceptional following Covid instructions. The food was mouth watering. We can't wait to re visit. Well done to the Chef's and staff.

Met up with Family in this super place. The staff were amazing and friendly. The food was 5 Star piping hot , fast service and Creme Brulee was so delicious...worth a visit.

Booked a table following a visit to nearby Go Ape for my daughter's 10th Birthday, unfortunately our session took longer than we thought which meant we were an hour late! I rang to inform them and this wasn't a problem and they were more than happy to keep the table for us. So glad they did as the food and service was amazing! Freshly cooked pizza for the children, I had the seabass wrapped around king prawns with Risotto and it was delicious! My partner had Sirlion Steam Diane which was also amazing. Service was excellent, very attentive to our family and the children. Quick service which was welcomed as we were all very hungry! but not compromising on quality and nothing was too much trouble. Our waiter Rubens was extremely helpful and made our visit thoughtfully enjoyable. A perfect end to our daughters birthday :) we will definitely be back!

My family and I tried the restaurant simply as we passing the area and decided to get a bite to eat, and this is one of those occasions where you uncover a hidden gem. From the for the moment my family and I walked into the restaurant we greeted with a warm welcome and very much made to feel at home with the staff taking the time to interact with the children which when dinning out is a very rare occurrence. The restuarnet clearly takes the current Covid meassures sersiouly and my family and I felt very safe here. A gentlemen by the name of Rubens looked after us for the evening and nothing was to too much trouble, explaning the menu choices us to us and helping us with the children

The food here was out of this world,my children tried food they would not normally eat especially Stilton mushrooms for the starter they were beautiful....Rubens our waiter was fab with my children and delivered a fantastic service can’t wait to go back for birthday celebrations in September. My Wife and I recently visited this fabulous place for a dinner reservation. Love the place, warm and cosy with a great atmosphere. We were welcomed and seated by a gentleman named Ruben's who took care of us all night, offering recommendations and ensuring we had everything needed at all times, really great guy who clearly knows his way around the hospitality industry. When it came to the food, well what can I say: Absolutely Delicious, I opted for Ruben's recommendations and had some of the tastiest seafood dishes I have ever had. Trust me when I say I have eaten in some amazing places! But this chef knows his stuff.... Truly fantastic dining experience and we will be returning on a regular basis. Went in on a Tuesday evening expecting it to be quiet but the fabulous reviews had obviously been read because it was really busy. All food was cooked to order so it was not by any means "fast food" however we loved every dish that we had, fresh, amazing quality produce that was cooked superbly! Service was attentive and totally under control. Highly recommend Risotto Paesana and the Branzino. Prosecco and Gavi Di Gavi were some of the best we have tasted. Thank you all... We will be returning x

Ordered the garlic bread for starters which had good flavour but quite a big portion and very doughy. Also ordered 2 veg pasta dishes which were really good and the pasta was cooked perfect. If I was in the area again would definitely come again. Prices are very reasonable and menu options are extensive

This is our favourite Italian restaurant in the UK. There were 40 of us for this special day with family and friends . We had booked the sole use of the restaurant for the afternoon. The food was superbly prepared and expertly served by the polite and friendly serving staff. We had many comments from our guests about how good the food was. We were all made very welcome and every person was greeted at the door by a member of staff. The table layout and menu were agreed by us beforehand with help from the restaurant manager. We cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Superb food, attentive professional staff and a great relaxed atmosphere.

Arrived as the restaurant was opening as we hadn't booked and were greeted warmly and shown to out table. All food was beautifully cooked and presented and the staff were great. Good menu choice.

We went for a family celebration 10 of us. The service was great, staff friendly and the place itself is nice. The food however didn’t blow me away. Meatballs were a bit bland and the sauce not much flavour. Chicken dishes were ok and the calzone I’m told was very nice. Nothing to complain about, I just wasn’t ‘blown away’.

Food was nice and hot and tasty, we had four adults and a 1 year old, they were accommodating and very polite even tho the 1 year old made a mess... thank you for a lovely meal

Freshly cooked, good quality Italian food.Their mussels in tomato and chilli sauce are tasty but not too hot. The Salmon, spinach and asparagus tagliatelli was delicious and there were good portion s of these in the pasta. The creme brulee was perfect. It had a creamy, eggy taste and texture with a good, crisp topping. Me and my husband will definitely be returning.

Had a lovely meal at Casa D’Italia last night, our 2nd visit. Thankfully didn’t order starters sharing very tasty cheesy garlic bread before our main courses. Ordered a calzone with a bolognese sauce instead of the tomato normally served with. They were very accommodating and served the sauce separately. The pizza was ginormous, the base was not too thick just perfect and very tasty. Couldn’t manage it all so the 1/2 I left made a lovely lunch. The ambience is nice, the staff friendly and would definitely recommend.

We've been here several times - the first time on the recommendation of a local friend - and have rarely been disappointed. I would always recommend booking and at peak times on a Friday or Saturday night it gets a bit hectic, but it has the feeling of an authentic trattoria and I quite like that.

We went here last night for my brother and sister in laws anniversary, and what a lovely place it is, The staff were second to none , they were so friendly. The meal we had was to die for, one of the best I have tasted. We would recommend and will be paying another visit

Late call to do something different on a Tuesday evening. Great decision to pick Casa D’Italia. Surprisingly busy for the time of the week but we now know why. Excellent service and brilliant food, real value for money. The large franchises have their place but Casa D’Italia wins for us, every time.

Ate here Saturday evening, I had the duck which was divine. The staff were a little slow in responding - we had to ask 3 times for my wine but they were friendly and polite.

Visited this restaurant yesterday around 6:30, door was opened to us on arrival the staff were lovely. The garlic bread with cheese was 10/10 absolutely amazing we also ordered the ribs and meatballs to start they were absolutely mouth watering. The ribs were cooked to perfection with the meat so soft nearly falling of the bone so easy to eat. The meatballs were full of taste and the sauce went great with the garlic bread too!! For mains we had spag Bol and the seafood pasta the la mare I think it was called with a bowl for the mussels to be put in not many restaurants would cater to this and expect you to leave the shells on your plate. Each meal was brought out hot and service was so quick.

We called here one evening, having not been for a few months. The service was very good, and the food we ordered was amazing - my step son was amazed when his Calzone came out and for the first time ever I saw him unable to finish a meal (he took the left overs home and finished it later on). Its not far from us so its somewhere we will definitely be going to a bit more frequently now for a tasty meal.

Haven’t been here for a while, not since the ‘makeover’ of a few years ago in fact, but it proved a convenient place for an early evening meal on the way home a couple of evenings ago.

Loved this hidden gem. It is slightly outside of the town centre, but well worth a visit. VERY reasonably priced, especially given the high quality of food and service (£7-£10 for most pizza and pasta). They were very accomodating to my 2 year old daughter, who loved her kids' pizza (very generous portion size too!).

The waitress didnt understand me properly and the wrong meal was brought out.i don't eat meat otherwise I would have just had the four seasons rather than the four cheese pizza.

Having read the reviews on Trip Advisor we thought we would give it a try. Lovely welcome by the staff, nice decor. Lots of choice on the menu, including plenty of seafood dishes. The standard of food was excellent and wine for under £18 per bottle. We were all very impressed and will definitely return soon

Very local to me, I chose this restaurant for a Christmas get together with my family. The atmosphere was lovely, very warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Will visit again, definitely!

We visited this restaurant when it first opened under different owners and the meal was a total disaster. The current owners have restored our faith in the place! We had a lovely meal with freshly prepared food and friendly, courteous service. We will certainly return. Our only criticism (hence only 4 scored), was that we ate mid week and there was a large family group in. Once they left, we were a little disappointed to see staff sweeping up around us when we were still on desserts. It was well before 10.00 p.m. Re-setting the tables was fine, but the sweeping looked like they wanted us to leave.

We had an early evening dinner; the place was rammed at 5 pm! Says a lot! The service was genial and attentive and the food was exactly as described and really enjoyable. Typically Italian fare and very good value; most dishes were under £10.

There were eight of us celebrating our sons birthday last Saturday evening. When we arrived we noticed that the restaurant was packed to the rafters. The small bar area was full so customers waiting to be seated were standing between tables which would have made those sat eating very uncomfortable I would have thought. There certainly seemed a shortage of staff for the amount of customers, the poor staff were like headless chickens running round trying to cope.

Having tried many different Italian restaurants, this one really isn't that special. The food was OK and the service was fine. Nothing to write home about. It was authentic Italian food and I was told that the owner was indeed from Italy but that doesn't equate to gourmet Italian food.

A wonderful meal, great selection of dishes, good service, friendly staff, our first visit and not going to be our last.

Are here last night and really enjoyed the whole experience, the decor, atmosphere ,service , food and wine were all spot on..!! We both had pasta mains with a nice salad a nice house wine at a very reasonable price and loved it...well done casa d,italia we,'ll be back..!!!

I have lived in Glossop for over 40 years but we have never had an Italian resturant of this quality

We have driven past this place so many times and always been put off by the outside. But after a horrible day in hospital and desperate for something to eat we 'braved it' and went in. How glad are we that we did. It was FANTASTIC! The decor was great, it was clean, we got a lovely warm welcome and the food was superb! I have no hesitation in recommending this super Italian restaurant. Magnifico!

The food is by far the nicest food in the Glossop area and possibly any restaurant we have ever visited. We like to come once a month and the service, food and our experience has always been fantastic. Would highly recommend!

This place serves such gorgeous food and really reasonably priced! We had such a lovely evening and can't wait to go back. We were mainly served by a young girl with long dark hair and she was really fantastic at her job. I had the king prawn linguine and it tasted amazing! House white wine lovely. Fab evening.

I drive past here every day and have never considered trying it , my loss ! Have had so many disappointing Italian meals that I am reluctant to try anywhere new .

We were pleasantly surprised as the surrounding outside area is a building site and mess but the restaurant inside is nice. The staff were very helpful and attentive, the Gavi wine nice. We had bruschetta , pizzas and garlic bread which were simple but tasty. The bill was quite low for four of us with wine and coffee after.

We have lived in Glossop for over 30 years and never been to Casa D’Italia as we have never really fancied the look of it from the outside.

Had a superb family meal out at the Casa D'Italia in Glossop. Very organised and very helpful staff made the experience even better. Food was very very tasty and plenty of it too. The prices were just about right for the quality. Well done Casa D'Italia...

The restaurant itself is on the main road, it does have a car park but its small, full and a bit rough around the edges – your options are then to park on the main road, it was also unfortunate that just before the restaurant there is some demolition work being carried out so there are temporary traffic lights.

This place is a little hidden gem in Glossop! By far the best Italian restaurant we have ever visited. Well worth venturing slightly outside if the town centre for.

Been again for the hundredth time tonight and can’t fault the place .... a family run restaurant with a really personal touch, you get to know the staff and vulnett, albie, samed, Barbara, maia, holly and the team are all lovely, the food is amazing and can honestly say as a complete foodie after years of going into town it’s refreshing to have this little gem on our doorstep - steaks are a must but whatever you have it’s faultless!!

We’ve been here a few times now, including my 50th birthday in june as a gift from children, it never disappoints! We decided to spend New Year’s Eve with another couple which turned into five couples we had a fabulous night, my starter was the lobster ravioli (quite a few of us had that) my mains was the chicken breast with bacon and seasonal veg absolutely beautiful, quite a few had the steak and one friend had the lamb and described it as a good orgasm!!followed by a choice of cheesecake or chocolate. It was all faultless.as it was New Year’s Eve there was an singer on nice in the background and as the night got later we couldn’t help but get up and dance, a few fireworks outside really set the mood. If my partner agrees I’d love to do new year there again! The staff are so helpful and can’t do enough for you. Needless to say, we’ll definitely be going some more.

Went to Cass D'Italia for Christmas Dinner today with family. The food was excellent, the best steak by far I have ever had. Everyone in our family loved it. The staff are so attentive, they can not do enough for you and gave us a warm welcome with a free glass of champagne each. The atmosphere was lovely and we couldn't ask for a better Christmas. Well done to management and all the staff. You made our Christmas day so special.

Visited this restaurant having read good reviews, however I'm afraid that the 4 of us were less than impressed with the food. The service is excellent, the staff are welcoming and friendly, however we were a little surprised that the place wasn't even half full at 8pm on a Saturday. Starters were sardines, prawns and asparagus which, in fairness were okay, but nothing better. My mains was lamb shank in a rosemary and red wine sauce. Having picked off a mound of soggy rosemary leaves (which are inedible unless you have a penchant for herbs), I was faced with a piece of dry meat with the blandest sauce and a small dollop of mashed potatoes. The red wine sauce was unseasoned and tasted (according to my wife who tried a bit) like red wine and oxo. Our friends were equally unimpressed with their mains - steak Dianne and a chicken Milanese. We were going to go to the Napoli in the town centre where we've enjoyed excellent food before and we all wished we had. Won't make that mistake again!

We live in Glossop and this is our favourite choice of restaurant when eating locally. We are regular visitors and the food and service is always very good. The staff are friendly and welcoming and always strive to make sure you enjoy your dining experience. The menu offers a wide and varied choice including pizzas, pasta dishes, steaks, fish and seafood. Our favourites are the calamari, pan fried scallops with bacon and chilli and the steak in Roquefort sauce and lobster ravioli. Many of the sweets are homemade by the chef and I can particularly recommend the tiramisu. Would highly recommend this restaurant

Was treated to a birthday meal here and had a great evening out. Very friendly staff in a great restaurant setting. I had the calamari and chicken risotto and both were cooked to perfection.

we had a lovely Italian meal on the way to the airport. pasta and a glass of wine, just hit the spot. we looked it up on the internet and were surprised that it was downstairs...we must have missed that bit! so not good at ll for access, and also parking was not easy, as every space seemed full

My husband, mother and I had dinner at the restaurant on 9th Sept. As always we enjoyed our meal however it became uncomfortable for us because the head waiter was constantly reprimanding the young waitresses. He barked at one young waitress because he said she had not asked a party sitting at the table next to us if they required a high chair for their baby. She did offer a high chair (I heard her) however the party said they did not need one because the baby was too young to sit a high chair (this was very obvious). The head waiter was very charming to us however I can't help thinking it's all for show. Don't bully your staff. Respect and 'teach' them with patience and they will flourish to become excellent waiting staff and an asset to your restaurant. The rating for service I have given does not represent the waitress, it represents the head waiter. The overall rating is based on our most recent visit. We would normally say the restaurant was very good.

Absolutely beautiful meals compliments to the chef ! The customer service here is outstanding !! I personally cannot find any faults here and would thoroughly recommend everybody should experience a meal here

Firstly I don't know how this isn't rated number 1 out of the Italian restaurants in Glossop! Anyway, I reserved a table for Saturday night for my boyfriend's birthday. We were greeted by a very polite young girl who let us have a choice of where to sit, our drinks order was taken and they arrived very swiftly. A male waiter took our food order and he was so funny! Making a few jokes here and there and made us laugh! We ordered the garlic bread with cheese, I had Tagliatelle al Salmone as my main course and my boyfriend chose Penne con Pollo. There was a slight delay with the food but the waiter kept us updated so we didn't mind, it was definitely worth the wait! The garlic bread had a beautiful base, was light and cooked perfectly, and our main dishes were very generous portions and full of flavour! I didn't need to touch the salt or pepper! We were both stuffed afterwards so unfortunately didn't get to sample the dessert menu :( we weren't left sat there for ages waiting to pay the bill either like you get at some restaurants and the waiter held the door open for us as we left, I appreciate little touches like that :) we had a brilliant night here, the staff were lovely and friendly and the food was on another level! I definitely recommend Casa D'Italia for anyone who's wanting an authentic flavoursome Italian meal! We shall be returning very soon!

Like many other reviewers here I agree that the quality of food here is excellent. We visited for my daughter's 26th birthday and everyone agreed their food was great (one minor exception being some rather dry salad). The range is very good, and all of Italian flavour as one might expect. The service was brisk and the staff friendly. Some of the dishes were expensive £15+ but there were several lower priced dishes so something for most pockets. My one real problem is that parking is very limited and if you park on the extremely busy A road you risk your car being "winged" as ours was! So do be careful where you park. The difficult location/limited parking is why it doesn't get a full five stars.

Tried here as it's not far away and wanted to try an Italian that wasn't part of a chain. Decor is a traditional trattoria/bistro. Not a place to get dressed up for. Food is generally OK, I must say I prefer the pizza at Pizza Express or Zizzi, but it was alright. The other dishes we had got no complaints either. Service started out OK, but once the place filled up they were really stretched and started to struggle. Nothing here will rock your world (apart from the waitress maybe), and you can certainly do a lot worse. I wouldn't go out of my way to go again, but if it was nearby and convenient, I'd go if nudged. Average - not meant as a bad or negative score - is about right.

My wife and I have been going here for over a year. We keep going back because it's consistently good. Very friendly and helpful staff, only too willing to make food to your requirements. Have taken family and friends there. Would highly recommend.

The food in Casa D'italia is consistently superb. All of our party loved their choices. Great choice of seafood dishes and plenty for vegetarians. Nice house wine. Excellent service and comfortable surroundings. Worth the extra few minutes from Glossop centre.

Called off on our way home from visiting family on a Sunday evening as we pass it regularly. The place was buzzing with a few large family groups and more diners seated throughout. We were greeted and served by two very polite and efficient waitresses. We started with mussels in tomato, chilli and garlic followed by sea bass with risotto and monk fish wrapped in parma ham. The sea bass and risotto are the best I have ever tasted. It was all superbly cooked and presented in this very clean restaurant. The best Italian food I've eaten anywhere.

Fantastic end to a day of celebrations for mums special birthday. Amazing food,friendly staff just perfect.A Big thank you to all.will definitely be back!
