The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Went and enjoyed a valentines meal here and the food was amazing! All served in great time and tastes fantastic! The steak melted in my mouth and cooked perfectly for me. The only issue which isn't awful was that they had forgotten to bring our bottle of wine until we had to prompt and ask for it again. Service apart from that was great and they were friendly. Would definitely recommend and would love to go again.

Where did the last 6 years go?? We waited far too long to revisit this gem of a restaurant, yet it felt like yesterday! Amazing menu, delicious food, wonderful ambience and service, 5 stars doesn't do it justice! Massive thanks to Andy, Jo and all the staff for making our family meal so special 😋 xx

We had a fantastic meal yesterday. The food was so tasty. The staff, although very busy, were helpful and efficient. This is our second visit. We were not disappointed.

We had a fantastic Italian meal here last night and dined on the early dinner menu. I booked a table online and had really quick response to confirm booking. The only reason this isn't 5 * is because the al la carte menu was the only menu handed to us when we sat down and I had to ask for the early dinner menu. Perhaps a simple mistake but certainly saved us a considerable amount of money having 4 to dine. Would highly recommend the carbonara, it's probably the best I've ever had. Our kids took the bruschetta starters which were incredibly fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself has a lot of stairs and is not disabled friendly unfortunately, it appears to be an old town house conversion. All in an absolutely excellent place for a meal and would highly recommend as we couldn't fault the food at all.

They tick every box , fast , good quality, friendly, tasty. Been second time and we all enjoyed everything we ate. Thank you 😊

I ordered a medium rare fillet steak. I have always ordered medium rare from many places. This, however, was raw. Not rare, mind you, which is fine, No, literally completely raw. Even smelt raw . Unbelievable. Money down the drain and still need to buy/cook food for the day. Worst experience ever !!! I tried the lasagna as well, which was quite awful.

Came with my wife, 2 babies and a dog and staff could not have been more welcoming and lovely. Food was fabulous, garlic prawn starters were exceptional.

Really liked this Italian restaurant. Foods are really good, friendly service, and good atmosphere. Their salmon was very good, cooked to perfection making it tender and moist. Recommended place to dine here at Carlisle.

Was pleasantly surprised by this place. Food that I had was delicious. Great atmosphere and service was good enough. Set menu was also reasonably good value for money. Only went because the restaurant that I was going to was closed that evening. Nevertheless I was pleased I came across this place and shall go again.

Very disappointing. The food was OK but the attitude of the front line staff was awful. The waiter who took us to our table scowled at my son and me. My son was so annoyed at this waiter that he asked the waiter why he was scowling at him. I ordered wine with my meal and asked the waitress at least twice for my wine which never materialised and l ended up drinking water with my meal. She was another who could do with customer training. I mentioned the above to the manager or owner who apologised. First time we had been there will definitely be our last.
