Most enjoyable experience. We love the atmosphere and the food is amazing! Great choice of menu and the prices are affordable.

We rang at the last minute hoping to get a table on a Friday evening. We were fitted in and had a warm welcome. The food was fabulous, I had pizza and my husband had a pasta dish. I had ice-cream and my husband had the sticky toffee pudding. Would highly recommend this little restaurant.

You will be hard pressed to find an authentic Italian Bistro better than Don Pino, Golborne. This establishment has been feeding the local and wider community for years with incredible rustic Italian food. Far better value than other “supposedly “ high end venues. Excellent quality food, wonderful service and value for money. Long may you stay open, we love it 👍 Barry

Brillliant place. Manager teaching us about the leaning tower in italy and talking about liverpool and everton. Food was amazing. I recommend you should go with family ,yourself and freinds

A little gem. We all had a fantastic feast. A variety of tasty starters, flavoursome main courses and yummy desserts. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. The service and atmosphere was wonderful.

This is a fabulous little restaurant with a fabulous Italian chef and staff 👌 nothing is ever too much trouble, they will even go out of there way if it’s not on the menu, we have been going for over 25 years and haven’t found anywhere like it, good atmosphere, lovely and clean, fabulous tasty food, & wine … also it’s not over priced 👍🏼 Top Drawer

Whilst we have been coming to this oasis of culinary delight for many years, it is going through a renaissance post coming lockdown....the food is superb, the atmosphere Italian, the welcome genuine. I have eaten in many of italies great cities but they pale o to insignificance to Do Pinos. I am reluctant to post just how good it is for fear of starting a rush but....it is one for the bucket list!!

Had the set Sunday-thursday menu-11 pounds for a starter and main, which was great value. Lovely authentic Italian theme inside, and friendly service. Would highly recommend.

Had a meal tonight with friends, firstly the restaurant is so welcoming and the staff are very friendly. The food we had was absolutely fantastic the starters were delicious and piping hot, The main meals were exceptional I have got to say that this is probably the best food we have had for ages(apart from The Raj Springfield which is totally different). If you are looking for exceptional food,reasonable prices, excellent service this is the place to go definitely be back. Thank you once again for a truly wonderful evening ❤️👍

Went on a whim as daughter back for the weekend from University. Haven't been before despite living locally for over 20 years. Lovely old styled Italian famly restaurant with very good food. Stuffed peppers, Tagliatelle with King Prawns, Meatballs, Pizza, Tiramisu, all the usual suspects were excellent. And nice friedly servic as well.

This restaurant has been established for 30 years in Golborne, nr Wigan. Which I think is a major achievement in this day and age. So many local businesses losing trade on the local high street. Glad to say this restaurant is doing well and long may it continue. Good wines, good food and friendly staff. We have had the pleasure of going here for the past 14 years and never had a bad meal. Had birthday celebrations here, family meals...Love it ....fantastico ❤ here's to many more memories to make at this lovely restaurant❤

The restaurant has the look,feel and atmosphere of a real Small Italian Restaurant, the sort you find when you turn the corner in an Italian town and realise thats what real Italian food is like. Bellissimo!!

This italian restaurant is within 70s style. So the menu. However the food is really good and the prices are a bargain for what you get. The atmosphere is friendly and polite. Car park is a walking distance.

This little place is always welcoming with great food at a very reasonable price. Got a nice surprise when we found out the set price menu is available on a Sunday - £9.95 per head for a very tasty 2 courses with plenty of choice!!

I’ve been going to Don Pino’s in Golborne for as long as I can remember and the food has never been a disappointment! And to top it off, first class service as always!

Really loved our meal here today for Mother’s Day. Such a lovely little place, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the value was incredible (Sun - Thur set menu) and the service was excellent. The best Italian i’ve Been to in a while, we will definitely be back very soon!

We have been here a couple of times after the races, we went again on Sunday night. We had the blackpudding in peppercorn sauce and garlic mushrooms - both really good, then the Capricossa pizza and chicken and mushroom risotto - again both really good. Great food, good service and we will be back again no doubt!

I had my hen night here 21 years ago and back again for a visit with family as I live in Spain. Same excellent food and service and superb liqueur coffees

We live local and have been here in the past but it started getting mixed reviews so after reading the recent better reviews we gave it a try and had a good night. The food was excellent and tasty, the staff very nice and jolly and the prices quite reasonable. We will certainly go again soon.

Have been visiting Don Pino’s for at least 10yrs & even put up with a grumpy Don Pino (still we were fond of him) because the food was always excellent! We were probably a bit boring as have always opted for the filleto Don Pino, although our daughter (& more recently her partner) have opted for other dishes from the menu & also said their food was wonderful.

We have visited Don Pino many times over the last few years. Food is always delicious and we are always made to feel very welcome by friendly staff.

With regards to the last comment very sexist. This is a very friendly lively restaurant and the food is lovely. Service is second to none . It is very family friendly and very cosy and warm . Food is excellent and not expensive. Definitely worth the vidir

I live just a few minutes walk form this small restaurant, i don't usually stay in to eat and ask for a take away. the place is very cute inside, very italian, very nice. The service is very average, if you are a woman then you might get a tolerable service, i dont have this luxury ... and the food ... risotto ... with normal rice instead of risotto rice, pizza barely cooked, my food has always been seasonned corectly but not my other half's. i have heard it changed owner not long ago, might give it another go.

This was the first trip back in a few months but nothing had changed.

booked a table for 4 for new years eve. all our meals were great. tasty and good value. the staff are really friendly and helpful. highly recommended.

Visited on a week day with two girl friends, one having a gluten intolerance, which was catered for very well.

The staff were nice and friendly,the food however was a big let down,we havent been for a few years ,in the past the food was nice for such a small local restaurant,now it seems to have what i feel a bit slap dash.So,the food was over cooked ,a polite way to say the garlic bread was almost black on one side,usually id complain but just said we will eat around it,but then after getting the main course wrong (mis communication with our server and the chef) we decided to eat up and get out of the place,atmosphere was lively,big party of people with loud children which i didnt mind,and on the comical side i witnessed a couple (remember this was a 7.00 pm booking)ate a full meal with thier eyes shut,too much of the vino i guessed.

didn't book, wasn't a problem as it was early evening told to sit where we wanted, decent menu, food served...

Myself and my partner went for a meal after moving to the area, however we were really disappointed. The food was not good, the staff were lovely. I'm genuinely surprised by the reviews about the food being so good and the amount of takeaways that were collected when we were there. Maybe we just had picked the wrong dishes.

We were told there was a change in management? However, we last came for 'date night' and found it as wonderful as ever! Always plenty of choice and the serving sizes are generous.

I tried to book her for Saturday night (25/03/17) at half past 5 for 8pm, they were fully booked, so I asked for a table for 9pm and they told me that should be OK. I arrived and 9 and was pleased to see that Golbornes only Italian was filled to the rafters, unfortunaltly the table we were supposed to be seated at had taken longer than expected, as my wife had to be in work at 7am we decided to have a take away and ordered. I returned 15 mins later and the place was still heaving! We had pizza (And lovely made to order!) and it was wonderful! This is a gem of Golborne.

Ive eaten here many times over the years and i have never been disappointed. The lasagne is to die for! The ower himself is often in the and is very personable.

Booked a table for 2 for 7pm as this restaurant can get busy. Can't fault the service & attentiveness of the waitress fab. It's not a classy place very down to earth & what you see is what you get. We had garlic bread with cheese to share yummy, a 1L carafe of house red wine, my partner had ribs & I had meatballs to start again delicious & served prompt & hot. For main my partner had a spicy, meaty pizza & I had chicken stroganoff with rice again very nice not the best I've had but can't fault. Restaurant only small so hit & miss where you are seated unfortunately we was sat by toilets & next to a large party with kids playing on iPads not ideal but can't control that & it didn't spoil the evening.

Went for early doors evening meal,very quiet when we got there thought OOPS!!why were we only customers.Very pleasantly surprised,food excellent,service excellent,and price excellent.If there is a criticism would say menu could be more varied.

We popped in on Wednesday for a late meal, because my wife is "watching her figure" we enquired about a couple of dishes and the chef said he could make them to order without (in this instance) cream. The garlic bread was also made to order (no cheese, but with onions). This is the kind of service you dont & cant get in big chains. This is a lovely little gem in Golborne, and one of only 2 restaurants. Thank you, great meal! (I finished mine the next day, I'm not a bit eater and there was no problem getting a doggy bag)

We hadn't been to Don Pinos for a few years, as our last visit was a little disappointing, having been "on the money" on many previous visits!! We decided to try it again with friends who,had also not been for a good while. We were pleasantly surprised, it's had a mini make over and although still a traditional trattoria, it is much lighter inside. We think it's been taken over, although the chef has remained constant we believe....which is good! The food, especially their cannelloni, always a favourite, is very nice. Their king prawns with white wine and zambucca starter is "to die for" just gorgeous!! Definitely worth a visit, not expensive either. Small so probably best to book at the weekends.

The food is always good and the service attentive. It's a decent trattoria with some dishes I've come to love, including the Sambuca prawns. It can be a little heavy on the chilli at times but that's only my preference and they're happy to adjust the dish.Worth investigating.

This small restaurant is an absolute treasure. I have eaten here before and felt compelled to tell the world how good it is. All items are extremely reasonably priced and the quality of the food produced by their Italian chef is the best I have had since my trip to Rome last summer. I had the superb homemade minestrone soup, which surprisingly came with a basket of toasted bread, my wife and the other lady had the breaded garlic mushrooms which they thoroughly enjoyed. For our mains the couple with us had the vegetable Risotto as they are vegetarian and the loved it. My wife and I had the chicken and mushroom risotto it was a good portion and of excellent quality. In the past we have enjoyed various pizzas, and pasta dishes. I once ordered the Pork Diavola and it was spicy, however the rich flavours made it a dish I would not soon forget. The staff are extremely friendly customer focused and attentative. Go with, family go with friends, go now. Make sure you book a table in advance.

Visited in Feb for valentines and had a really nice meal so we decided to go back again and give it another try.We Returned this weekend and found things were just as good as our last visit. The staff are very friendly and attentive and we were shown a table straight away.We had a jug of half litre house wine which was really impressive and just £7. It's probably the best house wine I've had anywhere especially at that price! To start we had a half tomato and half cheese garlic bread to start and really enjoyed it.For mains my girlfriend had a lasagne and I had spaghetti Bolognese and we both sent the plates back empty even though they were really big portions! We also had a rich house salad on the side which was very fresh and tasty and had a really nice chocolate desert to finish.It's a small restaurant but very authentic and intimate and had a great atmosphere. It's very clean and you can tell the staff take pride in what they do. The lovely Italian themed decor also stood out.Overall after a 2nd visit I still think this place is a little gem and we'll definitely try and go more often!

nice cosy Italian restaurant on entering was shown a table and sat down wine menu was brought over i picked a wine which was poured without being asked if i wanted to try itspecials board wasn`t pointed out we had garlic bread and chilli bread as starters the garlic bread just tatsed like butterI had steak which was really nice my wife had meatballs which again was nice my daughter had a margherita pizza which was awful base was soggy and the cheese tasted like it was a very cheap cheddar greasy and had hardly any tomato puree if she had told me how bad it was during the meal i would have complained only found out when she left some and i tried it

This small restaurant is in the middle of a old mining village , serves excellent freshly prepared food, with efficient service . They have a two course special for £ 10 , good selection , house wine around £ 15 , beer = bottles , fully recommended

Been visiting don pino's for at least 15yrs & have noted the changes over the years - it's now bigger & on our recent visit there was a new front of house head - who was very friendly & pleasant. We always have the same (boring I am) i.e. the don pino special recipe steak & it's about the only place I have been which consistently cooks my steak exactly as I like it. We don't bother with any of the bottled wine choices as the house wine is always palatable (we go for red). We also rarely have a starter as main meal portions I think are very generous & we couldn't finish it when we have had a starter in the past. However we have had the garlic or garlic & cheese bread (if our daughter & partner are with us) & because they were on this occasion it was as nice as it's always been - only ever had to send back something - some garlic prawns my daughter had (a bit frozen) & that was about 3yrs ago)We also rarely bother with a sweet but daughter loves their white chocolate profiteroles (not available on recent visit boo goo) she says they are to die for! What I do enjoy is a coffee with Bacardi in - don't like whiskey or brandy - & it's always made to perfection.A final note - I actually miss don pino from front of restaurant as I did find him rather dour & saw it as a challenge to get a smile from him. It says something about the food & the chef if we persisted in going back despite don pino rarely smiling

I went over Valentines weekend with my girlfriend having heard about Don Pino from a friend. I love Italian food but usually i go for the Italian chain restaurants so it was nice to find an authentic Italian to visit.I'm so glad we did as It was fantastic from start to finish. Its only a small restaurant but that adds to the character and atmosphere. Its impeccably clean and decorated to a high standard and the music selection was very chilled and relaxed.The food was amazing, the staff friendly, service good and the prices very reasonable! Drink prices were also really reasonable with half a litre of (very nice) house wine just £7. We had the Tomato garlic bread to start which was lovely and rich then i had a spaghetti bolognese main and my girlfriend opted for Lasagne and a side salad. They were all delicious. The side salad was so fresh and topped with olive oil. Yum! We didn't have a desert as the portions were quite big and we were both really full.I noticed like ours nearly all the plates going back to the kitchen were empty - (usually the sign of very good food) so i think i could recommend almost any dish there.To top it off the Italian chef even gave my girlfriend a rose as we left - more brownie points for me!There seemed to be a lot of regulars who knew the staff and its not surprising given our experience. We will definitely be going back to my new favorite place to eat Italian!

Visited Don Pino's a few times now and we just do not see the hype.Had the Garlic Bread to start with and it's like eating cardboard - burnt to a crisp. I had the pizza for a main and it was burnt around the edges. They dont have any drinks on draft - they are all out of a can and are very flat. Even the lemonade is from a 1 litre sprite bottle! And that must have been there for days because it was so flat. Drinks are ridiculously over priced for what they are.As I have mentioned, I have been a couple of times just to see whether this was just me and I must say it can't be. The service is average at best. They have an offer - 2 courses for 9.95 during the week (Sunday - Thursday). We went in during this time and this menu was never offered to us at first. We had to ask for it and when we did the woman flippantly remarked "oh... the cheap menu". If that is how you feel about it dont offer it! Very average. I have never been blown away here. Ariete in Newton Le Willows or Pasquales in Ashton or La Cava in Hindley are far better Italian restaurants. I'll not be wasting my money in here. Food average. Service average. And the drinks are terrible !

Excellent food with good choice and enormous portions and very friendly. Specials available also. Used a tastecard but its very reasonably priced without. Very cheap set menu for two before 9pm (probably not at weekends and not on TC). Excellent house wine also. Less than 2 miles from Holiday Inn Haydock (M6 Jct23) and a far better choice than overpriced hotel food. Looks unassuming on a street with a few shops and houses and we missed it on the first drive past.

We almost passed the Restaurant as it looked more like a takeaway than an actual restaurant. It is quite small and definitely "no frills" but we received a lovely warm welcome, excellent service and very good Italian food. We would certainly go again as we really enjoyed the casual dining experience and the staff were really great.

DON PINO GOLBORNE HIDDEN GEM!!this little italian is a Gem!! the food is always good resonably priced & easy to get a last minute booking.We have used this place for years & it's great for mid week starters/mains/desserts/ drinks/& coffees all in approx £40 - £50 for two people this includes wine.Give it a try & you'll be surprised!!

We used to live near here and frequented this place numerous times. If you like Italian you can't get better than this and .... The owner is Italian so makes it all the better and authentic! Service is great, food is delicious and price is right!

After recently moving to the area we decided to try Don Pino based on the reviews, although it doesn't look much from the outside we were pleased to enter and find a relaxing, cosy atmosphere. The waitress was very professional, just the right amount of friendliness without interference and always there when you needed her. Food was tasty, hot and quickly served. All in all it was a relief to go somewhere local and not feel like outsiders but immediately straight at home - we'll be back!

Came here last night having read the reviews. Really good tasting traditional Italian food at great value is all I can say. Well worth a visit but I would book on a Friday and Saturday.

We recently visited Don Pino with some friends for a dinner. The staff was fantastic. The food was very tasty. The cheese garlic bread that I ordered as a starter was beautiful. My friend ordered the mussels in white wine sauce and which were also very tasty and I ordered as a main the meat lasagna and was great.A lovely evening! I would recommend this place highly!

I vistited this small resturaunt after a friend of mine recommended it to me, but i was worried that they may of charged high prices for low quality food. I couldnt have been more wrong! After being welcomed by a friendly waiter and was shown to a table and handed a menu, ive got to say i was plesantly suprised at the variety of authentic Italian meals on offer for such cheap prices. After long thought of what to get i decided to get a fillet steak which was absolutely melt in the mouth fantastic! I will most defiantly be returning and would recommend this gem to anyone who enjoys food!

If you are looking for a true Italian restaurant, who's chef has a real passion about his food look now further than Don Pino in Golborne, we went for tea on Sunday the food was beautiful, to start we had the garlic pizza topped with tomato chilli & Parmesan on a thin base. this had a real kick to it! Main strips of fillet cooked in a rich tomato/chilli sauce served with rice, my wife had the fillet steak cooked medium rare served with a thick sauce of port, mushroom, onions and mustard served with seasonal vegetables, both dishes were outstanding, for desert we shared the home made tiramisu which I have to say was the best I have had. Well worth a visit!

We have been visiting this restaurant for many years since Toni bought it. It is authentic italian cooking and delicious! All my family and friends love it. Nothing is too much trouble If u have a special request it will be catered for. Their special weekly menu is beautiful and i dont know how he does it so cheap with such excellent quality We are in the food business so we know good quality when we taste it Its a great place. My husband and I were recommended to Don Pino restaurant 8 years ago. We visit regularly and have always enjoyed an excellent meal. The prices are good and there is a midweek menu competitively priced with starter and main course for £9.95. Last night we enjoyed fresh ministrone soup served with warm toasted bread. For our second course we had sirloin steak with a peppercorn sauce, potato wedges, carrots and brocolli. (steak is £1.50 extra and cooked to perfection.) The vegetables are served in individual dishes. The menu is varied, chicken, pork, salmon, pizzas, pastas so there is something for every taste. We feel this is a lovely restaurant, Toni the chef and owner, and Lorraine front of house made our visit very enjoyable. I would suggest give it a try and you will probably return again and again as we have done.

If you want the hustle and frantic energy that you usually find in many Italian restaurants,, well forget the DON PINO,, because what you will find at the DON PINOat is a warm and welcoming atmosphere , a courteous service, and some of the finest Italian cuisine in the north west my wife and daughter said the Italian fishcakes like they had never had anything like them before,,and i had the best carbonarra i have ever had, and i have had this in Venice, and it was better than that,,and their peppercorn steak is to die for,, and the cost is even nicer than the food

Went in for a meal yesterday with my girlfriend and the food was amazing, as well as the service and both the staff were fantastic. Even had a great chat with both the owner and waitress after our meal. I would say that if your looking for a great food and great atmosphere its the place to go.

Wow! What a fantastic Birthday Party meal six of us had Saturday 6th December 2014.Tornio the Chef and owner did us all proud with an assortment of bespoke homemade wonderfully cooked Italian dishes. The wine was excellent and coffee the best I have ever had, so was the Tiramisu. The waiters and waitresses were attentive and welcoming, the surroundings homely and comfortable and service second to none. Why did I not know of your wonderful place before now? Visited on Wednesday with a group of friends and the food was lovely and service was excellent. Will definitely visit again!

Don't know why we don't visit here more often. Fantastic food and friendly service. Prices aren't too bad either
