Donatellos in Warrington

The restaurant was recommended to us by a friend, and it was our first visit. We ordered a variety of pasta dishes, pizza, and desserts, all of which were outstanding—there wasn’t a single item that disappointed us. The staff were professional and provided excellent service, making the 10% service charge well worth it. It’s worth mentioning that they offer kids' meals as well. The children chose the 3-course option, which was not only generous but also incredibly tasty; the little ones were thoroughly satisfied with their meals. Overall, our dining experience was delightful and certainly one to remember, making us eager to return for another visit.

Love this place! The kids eat every scrap and the food & service is top notch. Been loads of times and never been disappointed. Would never hesitate to recommend to Italian food lovers, fresh and tasty 👌

I have been here before and absolutely love the place which is why I can not believe what happened to us yesterday.We have had fantastic Sunday lunches here and returned and 2 of us chose that.We were excited and starving.Our food came and we looked at it and it just did not look right.I moved the meat and was surprised.The roast potatoes were not hot and crispy .They had gravy on but it had been on a long time and soaked them soft.There was no mash or parsnips.One teaspoon of cabbage and one single green beanWTF??? Had I been given somebody's leftovers???.The waiter brought mash and cabbage and it was when I put that into my mouth and felt its warmth that it hit me that the other veg was stone cold.I was starving and ate as much as I could,paid and left.Such a shame.I will never go back.If I was them I would be ashamed 😔

Had a lasagne-was no meat in what so ever, friends had the 3 meat Sunday roast. No mash potatoes they had to bring some cabbage all was very sparse, food was cold. Not the best food I have ever had won’t be going again

A nice place to eat with friendly staff.

Everything was OK, but any restraunt that serves wine in a carafe is suspect. The wine we were served did not taste like the one we ordered, but as it wasn't in the bottle there is no way of knowing. When you pay a lot of money for wine in a restaurant, you expect to get what you ordered.

A little treat for my girlfriends birthday and it was fantastic. Great food, great service and all round a really nice evening out

One of favourite restaurants and our go-to for family celebrations. Consistently good food and friendly processional service over many years - the lotus biscuit cheesecake special is great and we’d love to see the non spicy meatball starter special from a few years ago again - if the fillet steak is on the specials then it’s definitely worth getting as it’s always cooked perfectly but the baked chicken pasta dish and authentic carbonara are fantastic and the ribs are not to be missed - the sauce and salad on the new crispy chicken starter is really nice and would go great with the arancini as a different choice to the tomato based sauce it comes with as standard. The ricotta filled pasta is so good, would be great if you could add a meat choice into the dish as an extra - never had a bad meal or anything but great service here 😊

The food was so salty lasagne swimming in tomato sauce with cheese that was like rubber I ended up nearly chocking on it garlic bread was cold told the waitress it was salty and all she said was oh Never again will I eat in this place

Food is always delicious, service is great and the atmosphere is really bubbly and relaxed. Excellent price for the quality of food. Very fresh and tasty… Donatello’s is always our go to for a meal out!

I think you need a new lasagne’s bowl… please don’t serve a foods with the rusty bowl.

Just had a lovely family meal where all the food was perfect. The service was amazing and even though I made the mistake of ordering something I shouldn’t have due to an allergy but completely my fault. It was taken away without any fuss and at no extra charge I was given something else. I’ve never had a bad meal here and can’t wait to return

I've been here a few times and the food is always good! I recommend the Penne Supreme and Pollo Sophia; the staff are friendly and attentive, with a nice relaxed atmosphere

Haven’t been here for a while but had seen a few bad reviews on here, I needn’t have worried, my husband and I went last night and had a lovely meal, the food was as lovely as always and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We won’t leave it as long to come back again

Visited with my friend, The chicken (Pollo Sophia) was burnt and It was inedible. It was sent back and I couldn’t eat the second plate either, the presentation was awful too. I left that & did not eat it. I left hungry after waiting over an hour for my meal. The waiters knew I wasn’t happy as I made it clear. They never offered me any reduction in the bill and all I got was a sorry.. then they sent the young girl up to give us the bill.. Not happy at all.. I asked if it was a new chef and he said yes.. Well you need a different chef. Won’t be returning there! awful!

A memorable experience, visited tonight for our wedding anniversary and my friends birthday! Have to say, it was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had bar none! Attentative staff, pleasant surroundings and the rib starter and meat balls main was to die for. I would recommend this place very highly if you want to experience Italy on your doorstep. Top marks guys!

Nice place, nice food, the only problem is you can't go to the bar and buy a drink and pay for it and when there's 22 of you it's a big problem working out who owes what especially when they also put 10% on the bar tab so they make more money from you by not letting you near the bar.

Visited here today for my daughters birthday four Adults three kids under six , the service was attentive but standard , the food had no real highlights ribs were good but my wife’s carbonara was tasteless pancetta was cooked to death no seasoning, my sons lamb ragu was seriously lacking in lamb and flavour , I had the penne supreme this was the best dish but wife done that no no I’m fine with the carbonara so waved good bye to my penne supreme . Daughter ordered the chicken and prosciutto special she said bland as well no seasoning . Kids had pizza and spaghetti. The drinks were expensive for soft drinks and then the added a £15 service charge , we always tip well and thought that this for a table of four adults and three kids under six was taking the mick , don’t think we would return

When we arrives we were greeted nicely. After 10 mins was seated. The food was very nice with the open pizza oven and service was okay. The overall atmosphere was dull though no candles or any type of condiments on the table and was no background music to cut over the very loud noise of people talking

Great place for a group meal service was good and food was very nice and tasty. Only a slight negative was it is a very noisy echoey venue and it was hard to hear everyone in our group. Would highly recommend the veggie pasta option it was fantastic.

Food was tasty but took ages to arrive. Service was appealing from the front of house man. He was extremely rude (an understatement) and told us that he didn’t have to calculate our bill for us. Laughable! Unfortunately the evening was ruined by this rude individual, not to mention the waitress with a terrible attitude. Disappointing as we spent a lot of money in the restaurant. Credit is due to our lovely waiter who looked after us and was friendly, he was about the only approachable person in this place.

The poor review is not down to the food as this was really good! Very tasty and good portion size. Our experience of going to this resteraunt was spoiled by the man who was front of house. He was rude and very arrogant and we were made to feel an inconvenience on arrival and when we paid. He let the rest of the team down who were also nice. I'm wondering if there are any vacancies at Karen's in Prestwich for this man?

Had a excellent home made belly busting Sunday Lunch a couple of weeks back. Quality ingredients used. Well worth the price ! Recommended.

Had a birthday meal here, was nice but once we'd eaten & had drinks, no desert - we was asked for the table cos they had another booking! Just felt abit rushed & people in my party did too! Was lovely, clean & staff friendly - reasonable prices too.

Great Italian cuisine and perfect location to celebrate birthday

We used to love here but after yesterday's meal I will very much doubt we will be back prawn cocktail no flavour at all garlic bread with cheese was swimming with oil found a hair in my starter and said it was of a pastry brush which is absolute crap no pastry brush needed for a prawn cocktail and little do they know I work in a kitchen and a pastry brush hair doesn't bend like human hair so was 100% human hair which is just vile Sunday dinner was microwave mash literally the only thing worth eating on there was the lamb which was really nice but most definitely won't be going back in a hurry birthday meal absolute ruined

We loved our experience at Donatello's. We received a very warm welcome, the staff were so lovely, always very smiley and making jokes with the kids. The food was perfect, especially the lasagne! We will definitely be returning ☺️

5/5 we have been visiting Donatellos as a family for at least the last 15 years. We try to visit at least once a month and we really enjoy visiting. Food is always amazing, but on the very rare occasions something is not right. They will be more than happy to put right and correct. We love it here. Keep up the amazing work.

Really poor service We have been going to Donatello's for family occasions for 30+ years. But, we're done. The New staff that we had serving us were awful. All the usual staff were there, not a problem with them. The new young ones are in the wrong industry. It wasn't cheap We were there 3 hours Sat waiting for an inefficient kitchen, that was with pre ordering Served by table staff that really didn't want to be there time to find somewhere new

Great selection of delicious dishes, mainly pizzas and pasta, plus some tasty chicken dishes. Garlic bread with cheese is top quality. Lovely place for a casual or special occasion.

This place is noted for its tasty food, and our latest visit didn't disappoint. Only negative for me was the size of my Gnocchi dish, I found it very tasty but a little small, and the practice of adding a service charge has crept in. I usually boycott places that do this.

I love this restaurant but last night was disappointing. We had to ask for everything drinks dessert menus desserts made to feel invisible. We shared a garlic bread which was nice. My main meal was King Prawn linguine with cherry tomatoes. I had 1 1/2 cherry tomatoes and 5 prawns not king prawns. Most of the dish was pasta and it was not hot. The others with me said their meals were good. The restaurant was busy but it’s no excuse. We will be back but I hope I have a better experience

We visited on Mothering Sunday, before we even arrived the restaurant were extremely helpful in accommodating an increase in our party size. The service was perfect, very friendly, homely environment. Food was exceptional, we enjoyed a selection of starters, pizza, pasta and a la carte. The special gambaroni starter was delicious, as was the lemon dessert. Can't wait to visit again soon. Thank you for a great dining experience.

Arrived at 5pm for pre theatre meal, to be told I had no booking.I had written conformation.A rowdy table was found in-between 3 birthdays, 45minutes later the steak arrived, and the pasta. Steak was tough, and pasta was cold.We were told to leave at 6pm as table was required. We paid £47 and left. 1 hour later the receptionist called me by mobile, he said your table is here for you why did you not turn up !I told him we left 1 hour ago and have the £47 receipt.Will not be going here again.

Celebrated my Son’s 18 th here last night. Amazing service and allowed personal touches. Can’t thank them enough. Food was amazing. Been here a few times and always impressed. Highly recommend.

We booked a family party of 14 including 3 babies. The service was brilliant from my first phone call. They accommodated our large group and asked for pre orders. Service was brilliant, everyone commented on how lovely the food was (we all ordered different dishes). It has a really friendly feel and we all felt very welcome cannot recommend enough

I have been a frequent visitor to this restaurant which goes back many years. It used to always be a favourite of mine & I would have said it was usually good value for money. We booked a table for a special meal on Valentines Day night. Neither myself or my Husband were drinking that night due to working the next day. He ordered a Diet Coke & I ordered a lime & soda. When the bill arrived at the end I could not believe that my Husband’s Diet Coke cost £4.50 & my lime & soda £4.20! I would consider that to be really expensive for a lime & soda as most places would usually charge around 85p or even £1.00 fir this drink as it’s considered to be a cheap drink. They are also now adding a service charge which is something they never used to do. I was so disappointed. I would have normally left a generous tip for the staff as we are usually very happy with service, food & drinks. Very disappointed as this made the meal expensive. This has definately put me off going back there again. Such a shame as it seems like they are getting very greedy with their prices. Pasta dishes have also gone up from about £10 to £13 as well!

I have been to Donatello a number of times over the years and have never had one bad meal. Everything is always fresh, tasty, delicious! I especially enjoyed calzone, ribs, risotto and the nduja pasta. Service is always friendly and helpful. Cannot fault this restaurant at all!!!!

Service from walking in the door was top class, Starters arrived quickly and were extremely tasty. Main courses were fresh and vibrant. Would we come back, definitely. Super experience.

We were surprised how poor the food was compared to previous visits. To come away from the restaurant knowing the best part of the meal was the Garlic Bread, says everything. I chose the meatballs and i imagine they were prepared at the restaurant, but could not help thinking that they tasted like they had come from a tin, with a lack of good flavour and very solid. I have had way better at other Italian restaurants, my wife thought her dish was decidedly average, which is a real shame, as we had previously enjoyed visiting on a number of occasions. I noticed the menu has changed since we last came here and so had the prices. We may go back sometime, but not for a while now and hope the food improves?

We had an amazing experience today for dinner at Donatello Restaurant! Amazing food and great staff! Wowwwww! Thank you!!! Birthday dinner, 20 adults and 6 kids.

Wonderful early evening meal here again. I had the ribs as a starter, plenty and very tasty. For a main I chose pollo diavola, spicy and again very tasty, veg and potatoes cooked perfectly. Quite noisy with a few birthday parties in but everyone out enjoying themselves. Very attentive staff too.

Awful well what can I say staff loverly but to be honest it was a bit like a staff canteen very noises and bright and when our food arrived it look like it was thrown on the plate after tasting it the meet balls was cold and under cooked well raw and did not taste right we were compensate with a pizza but to be honest wasn't the best asked for it to be spicy and it was just sweet and tasteless found the hole exsperes over priceed and Awful will not be returning ever

My favourite Italian! Was introduced to Donatellos by my sister, loved it that much i suggested we should go again, so we did - since then I have been been a couple times with the other half and just cannot get enough. My favourite is the nduja pizza, dough and ingredients are so fresh, the variety of Garlic breads is surpreme and the misses loves the pasta but yet to choose her favourite dish. Staff are friendly and always available, highly recommended! Parking available opposite the establishment. Just wish they were closer for delivery! ;)

Probably the best Calzone I've ever eaten in Warrington and the tangy ribs starter is more like a main due to the sheer size. Amazing food. Highly recommend.

Have been coming here for years to celebrate birthdays etc.this visit was a big disappointment food was cold and soggy pizza and what happened to the portion sizes ? Minimal bolognaise sauce can honestly say worst visit I’ve had and will not be coming here again which is sad but the meal was horrible
