The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Italian food

Had an incredible meal at The Wild Tavern! The lobster linguine was the best I’ve ever tasted – rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The grilled artichokes salad was also a standout, fresh and delicious. Love them special pistachio tiramisu. Great atmosphere and excellent service. I’ll definitely be back!

Went in for a coffee and cake after a day shopping. Lovely decor and atmosphere. I was very disappointed that there were no crioche available in any of the flavours. We ordered a tiramisu instead. As an Italian I was horrified at what I was served for £14! It is made in front of you (tiramisu should’ve made a day or a few hours before to let the flavours soak in) the waitress laid a few biscuits in a dish, poured some coffee over them straight from the pot and a dollop of cream. We questioned the alcohol, to be told that they don’t use alcohol to not offend people who cannot have it. It tasted very bitter, we could not finish it. For that price, come on Lavazza, show Italian desserts in the light they deserve.

Brilliant pizzas & service. We had a pizza each, including a spicy pizza off the specials board that was recommended by the waitress. They even fulfilled my request for one of the pizza’s to be extra crisp! The pizzas were the best I have ever had. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

What has happened? Used to be great. Friendly staff and freshly cooked food. Now, staff that talk amongst themselves and food that has been under the heat for hours. Dried up and tasteless. Not impressed at all

Updown was recommended by friend's, so popped in to check the place out. Greeted by Marlon who was fantastic. Hotel and restaurant booked for next month’s visit to Deal.

This pizza is the very best pizza in the whole of East Lothian!!! We have been going for over 15 years and returned today for the first time after the pandemic and it’s even better than ever. Amazing And now they deliver! Seriously the finest food in the area and the best customer service ever. An authentic Italian establishment. Thanks again!! Brian

Abre a las 08 H 00, lo cual es bueno. Solo he comido los huevos revueltos con tostadas y siempre me ha parecido bueno. Me doy cuenta de que sirven tocino. Sirven no solo el café turco tradicional, sino también un buen café occidental fuerte en tazas medianas, que es mucho mejor que la "cadena americana" que uno puede encontrar en otros lugares. Hay mesas y sillas afuera, que son una pantalla desde el pavimento junto a un seto. Los baños han estado limpios cuando los he visitado. Very disappointing Shakshuka, normally a Shakshuka is a vibrant spicy red and exciting dish of tomatoes, peppers, eggs, spinach, different toppings are added to each version, I had to ask for a spoon as it was more of a brown soup which I couldn’t eat with a knife and fork. All the other items I’ve had from the menu have been lovely, I didn’t complain at the time as I was with my friend. I was also charged a service fee on top, to which I was told ‘it saved people scrabbling around looking for loose change’ hearing such a dire comment is not what you expect, as after all, a tip is given for the enjoyment of food, service and the ambience of a place which unfortunately was ruined by the continuous noise of the blender making smoothies/milkshakes which I suppose couldn’t be helped on such a hot day.

Great place, wonderful atmosphere and incredibly delicious food. Extremely well presented. Service couldn't be faulted and it came with a smile. The owner could not have been nicer. Before 12 you get the breakfast menu and after 12 it's the lunch menu. Spoilt for choice with both. Highly recommended.

Telling all our friends to go here and will defiantly go again. The staff was a lovely family who were very friendly. The food was excellent, we ordered starters and main and they all came up hot tasty and full of flavour - was so full never had desert but they brought us a free chocolate pudding to share as a nice gesture. Looking forward to returning
