Cant find on here under Rocco's? Cant believe all the bad reviews on here! Went for the first time last night. Both service and food were fantastic. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Had best olives ever and garlic bread to start. He also brought us complimentary bread with olive oil. We shared a huge tomahawk steak which was cooked to perfection. Would recommend and definitely be returning

Attended with family, no organisation, seems people are put in whatever table becomes free despite bookings. Every table I saw complained of food not arriving, what should have been a visit lasting no longer than 1hr 30min turned into 2.5hrs. Would not recommend as the food wasn’t great either.

Just had tea today everything was ok until I ordered cheese and biscuits the cheese had green mold on it very disappointed

Wonderful from start to finish. The owner is lovely as is his staff, the steak phenomenal as was the dessert. The rose wine has to be had! We will be back! Thank you Rocco!

Me and my wife was made to wait 10 minutes at the front door until we were seated all the waitress did was drag there feet all night really didn't want to be there decor was old dated such ashame really such ashame what gins do you have sorry dont know do you have draught beer sorry no like a circus watres came for order polite . Asked for garlic bread it came solid as ... then my pizza came all watery my wife's pasta was just bland and tasteless the guy who owns it chef was swearing in italian such ashame food places like this exist I will never return and will tell everyone I know to give it a wide birth oh yes asked for chillies .. came dried chilies with oil in a ramekin and wooden spoon Really the thing that hacked me of was the waiting on staff just did not want to be there and boy they showd it

After arriving early for booking and eating we were rung asking why we had not turned up. Food of decent quality but feel that £8.85 for 3 portions of chips when we all had steak was a bit much,5 large cokes at £21.00was a rip off. I have invoice in hand as I write this total bill was £199.85

After reading all the great review we went for 40th birthday group of 7 we was first ones in restaurant waitress came to take drinks order we ask her for some garlic bread and cheese to be going on with to be told I don’t do food ! We later ordered some with the waiter who did food the services was a shambles waitress came out with starter that wasn’t ours and wandered around the restaurant trying to give these starters to who ordered there was only 3 other tables with people on tried to give us different customers drinks took them 3 attempts just to get a large Diet Coke the food was nothing special fish over cooked fillet steak over cooked the chips looked like they had been over cooked for a week pepper sauce tasted like the one you get out of supermarket you add hot water to the mains came out quite spaced out for the full table, no sides came with the meals was all paid extra, whilst sat in the restaurant I got phone call saying I’d booked a table where are you while I sat at the table waving at him on phone seemed no organisation at all the waitress was told we was here for 40th could you do happy birthday replied of course no problem this was not done overall very disappointing and will not return

Excellent food . Could not fault it. A welcome surprise to see all the staff from the recently closed Dolce were now there. So glad as Dilce was excellent too. Would highly recommend

Had a fantastic evening here the other night, food was to a high quality, the steak and pasta is difdent class...was thrilled to choose this place...service was impeccable also might I add.

We had a wonderful meal at Rocco's on the Sunday between Christmas & New Year. The restaraunt was busy & indeed some walk ins had to be turned away. The food was excellent & the one little problem we had with one of our party (there were 8 of us) having the steak well done instead of rare was soon sorted. However it seems that staff have certain jobs that they are not allowed to do. We ordered extra drinks, then the same member of staff would be seen clearing tables, setting others so we would catch their eye & remind them only for them to go behind the bar & then return to clearing tables again & still no drinks. We ordered sweets & 3 of us were full so just wanted coffees. These were forgotten. So again a gentle reminder and again this same member of staff obviously not allowed to get coffees as would do other jobs & still they didn't arrive. We did end up getting our coffees & free, but then getting the bill was the same nightmare including coming to the table with the card machine before giving us the bill. In sumary yes the food was excellent, can hardly fault it but they need to sort out the service & let more staff do more jobs.

From the moment we walked in we were impressed by the new look Rocco’s, formerly Leos. It’s feels warm and friendly and the staff were very attentive. Our food came and honestly the presentation was beautiful. Food was amazing ! We will be making this our restaurant of choice ... Excellent..

The only positive thing I could say is the manager was nice.. food was terrible restaurant was empty so it says it all...and 22 pound for a bottle of wine u got for a fiver from asda...food was cold in middle and garlic bread was raw. Sorry

After having a few bad experiences at Leo’s in the past, I thought I’d give the new restaurant a go. On arrival I was disappointed to learn nothing had changed bar the sign outside. Same owners, same atmosphere, same floppy mess.

There are some disappointing reviews earlier this year, but the restaurant has now changed hands and is back on top form as 'Rocco's'.

Leo's in Horwich used to be one of the best Italian Restaurants around and we used to go all the time!! Then it went off a bit and we have given it a break for maybe 9 months.

Food was very average from a restaurant that many of my friends said was very good. Lasagne was defo microwaved was to hot to eat and soggy... Pizza and garlic bread was OK. Can't even blame the food on being busy there was only about 4 tables in. Average score for average food.. Service was excellent tho.

We've eaten here a few times over the past few years and thought it had gone downhill. We decided to try it again and really glad we did, the food was excellent, especially the lobster ravioli with fresh lobster and prawns. Already looking forward to our next visit.

I have eaten here 3 times and the chef prepares delicious food. The staff work hard and are very friendly. From my experience of having three meals here I would recommend Leo's to anyone who loves Italian food.

As a family we have been going to Leo's for years. The service was always exceptional and the food to match. We have just visited for Mothering Sunday and will never ever go back. What a complete tragedy. The staff/owners seem to have changed and with it all that was good. The service was simply shocking, a young lad who was clearly new and handled the cutlery by the end you beat with, your drinks with his fingers around the rim of the glass. The food, when it finally arrived was a shock. King prawn farfalle that contained only 4 minuscule prawns and lacked any flavour at all. We then sat there for 15 minutes until our bill was finally brought. I am gutted at what this place has now become. Avoid it

Not sure why there are some negative reviews recently as we had a lovely evening at Leo’s last night. Maybe there have been some teething problems with the recent take over? They have certainly been resolved now. There have been some small changes, new plates, tablecloths, but the menu is the same which I am pleased about. Staff were friendly and service was good. We paid £15:95 each for 3 courses which was excellent value. Drinks were reasonably priced too. Food was fresh tasty and piping hot. Will definitely be returning.

Average service and awful food. If you're sticking to a basic pizza or pasta you might be okay but the chicken dish was so dry and overcooked as if it had been sat out and reheated. For the price being charged for it, it was not good.

Was at Leo’s tonight for a friends birthday meal, it was freezing in the restaurant. The service was atrocious and the food worse. The creme brûlée’s was like eating custard powdered robber. When the waiter was called over for us to complain about it, he just replied with “oh I’ll get rid of it” will never go there again. Everything was pinged in the microwave. What a let down.

Was worried seeing recent reviews,didn’t need to be. Had the 3 course special menu and it was excellent. Seafood pancake stuffed with prawns, Leo’s bruschetta both very good. Salmon in pasta and prawns in pasta for mains huge portions and very tasty. Ice cream for dessert and profiteroles excellent. Good service from staff on a very busy Saturday evening.

I had a birthday meal at Leo's last week and non of my family were very impressed after visiting this restaurant for years.

We visited with family who have eaten here for years and rated it highly. On this occasion though they and us were disappointed. The waiter didn't know what one of the specials was and came back from the kitchen non the wiser. One meal arrived lukewarm and was sent back. The fish came with no vegetables and when the waiter was questioned he replied curtly 'did you order them?', unfortunately we weren't asked when the order was taken and the menu didn't state you needed to. The first meal came back really hot after being microwaved. The vegetables arrived lukewarm. The special pasta was disappointing and ridiculously salty. Only half of us were offered parmasan and the waiter disappeared off and didn't offer black pepper. It basically was chaotic. It was early and didn't look understaffed at all just disorganised. Disappointing.

Been coming to this restaurant for years and always loved it however the last couple of times have not been good at all. Food has been over cooked, I ordered the spaghetti it was watery. No one around to ask if we wanted pepper or Parmesan and that was when it was quiet! When we said we weren’t happy with the meal or service to the waiter he just said oh and walked off! Used to love this place, the food and service but the last couple of times have been shocking and really put me off. Will not be going again for a long time!

We have been coming to this restaurant for over 15 years but Christmas Eve was appalling! Within 2 minutes of us sitting down the same waiter that showed us to the table asked if we were ready to order! Not a good start! My fillet steak which should have been cooked medium was practically raw in the middle. We ordered 2 lots of veg. One dish arrived. We asked where the other was to be told the dish was for two. However there was only piece of broccoli and one piece of cauliflower.! We requested a further dish which was a long time in coming so much so that my husbands steak was going cold. The waitress offered to take it away. Not to replace but to heat up in the microwave. Really??? When the same waiter who took us to the table asked if everything was ok I said no not really, he said oh and walked away!!! We had enough and requested the bill, which I think is what they wanted us to do anyway.

Don’t know why this place has any negative reviews the food was amazing and the set prices for 3 courses are brilliant value for money, the place was spotlessly clean and as you can see from the pictures the food is top draw, my new favourite Italian

I visit Leo’s on a monthly basis and always found the food and service very good, and had no reason to change to somewhere else, until a visit this week.

I would not have personally booked to eat here as I have had two bad experiences here !! But it was booked and they did it again and unfortunately proved me right !! As soon as you walked in the floors were quite slippy due to the grease ! Not a good start and our little nephew slipped on the slippy stairs which could have caused a serious accident! We ordered our food which went ok ! It then went to pot and completely wrong !! The ribs were awful! Cheap fatty ribs ! The meatballs cheap fatty meat ! The muscles sent back ! The garlic bread was ok ? Then the mains came out ! The spaghetti bolognais was tasteless cheap meat and the who dish was watery! The steaks again cooked very badly ! The chicken again cheap dry and overcooked ! French fries looked like they had just come out the freezer undercooked !! In total the whole experience was horrendous ! The staff just didn’t seem to know what they was doing and the chef ?? Well I think he needs to go back and get re trained !! I mean how can you get these simple dishes so wrong !! The birthday meal for a table of 16 was completely ruined !! and spoiled the whole evening! Well done Leo’s ! They do have a plaque on the wall stating restaurant of the year 1994 which back in the days it was ! I would definitely not be booking a meal here ever again and would NOT recommend this place !! Such a shame as it could be SO much more !! The owner needs to take a look at the quality of food he is purchasing and maybe take a look at the quality of service and the quality of the dishes being served to his customers! Really shocking night had by all ! I had also noticed the few customers which where in also complaining! Need a very BIG rethink Leo’s at this rate you could be closed with the year ! Such a shame!

£14:95 3 course menu fantastic value excellent food. Cod and panacetta fish cake,prawns in garlic n chili to start excellent. Cannelloni and meatballs and spaghetti for mains,so filling. Cheese and biscuits and cheesecake to finish. Service superb another great meal. 10/10

Leo’s is a fantastic restaurant with extraordinary value for money. It’s a family favourite and we always book for special occasions or even a midweek treat. The offer of 3 courses for £14.95 is fantastic, especially when some of the specials are included!

Went last Sunday for lunch with husband David,daughter Barbara & her fiance Matt.Was a birthday/engagement celebration. The food as usual was delicious,the service good.We love coming here.The restaurant is lovely. We will be back again.I can recommend this.

Went on a Monday evening, not too busy which was nice. We all had the 3 course menu for £14.95, albeit I asked for a half portion of my pasta dish. Highly recommend the garlic bread, it was delicious. The tortellini in a stilton sauce was divine, finished off with the fruit meringue. Looking forward to our next visit. Found the staff to be very friendly and attentive.

Visited this restaurant with three friends. We all had various starters and ordered fillet steaks as main courses, and then deserts. When the main course plates were collected I said politely to the waiter that all are steaks were tough. My fillet which was ordered medium / well done was also quite bloody.

Nice and pleasant place great food and service, it’s very easy to see why the tables were never empty, they were full again as soon as the last ones went, so definitely the place to be !

We hadn't been for over 12 months due to inconsistent food but we thought we would give it another try. This was a mother's day treat for our mums and a mixed bag of ages from children, grandchildren, parents and grandparents so a mixture of tastes.

The best value! For £13 you are offered a wide range of three courses and the food is just delicious.

Very nice food, attentative staff, cozy atmosphere and very good value for money. We were able to park on the main road outside the venue.

The starters were delicious, husband had minestrone soup I had deep fried goats cheese. Main my husband had was salmon with muscles, you don't get a side as standard you have to pay extra on top of the meal price at £2.50 each. If you don't know this you will end up with just the fish/meat on your plate. I had a swinging kebab (this came with homemade chips). The best thing about this was the chips. Now I know I am a little fussy with meat but this lamb was very rare and chewy seems to lack seasoning. Desserts are nothing special Italian trifle for the other half, I had what they called a fresh fruit cloud, basically a fruit salad on a small shop bought meringue with a scoop of ice cream (you can have cream).

Another Lovely meal, never any faults everytime I visit from the food the Wine, the service is faultless.

Good food, quick service and very pleasant staff, also meal deal which is on evenings and weekends is very good value for money

We used to visit here many years ago and not for any particular reason hadn't been for years so spare of the moment late Sunday evening we popped in and were pleasantly surprised, staff lovely and friendly, menu great choice, we enjoyed a lovely meal and bottle of wine. Food was very good, piping hot and authentic. Definitely return more often now.

We have been visiting Leo's for years and you can always rely on it for large plates of traditional Italian food served with a smile. During the week there is a very good valued deal of 3 courses for £14.99. I would always advise booking to avoid being disappointed.

Have been here now for a few meals here in the past few months and have had a nice evening on all occasions. Food is always prompt and enjoyable, with lovely staff that are always happy to help. Will be returning again.

Have been a couple of times recently and the food has been delicious, cooked to perfection and the prices are good. The restaurant is small but cosy and although it is small you don't feel to close to others dining at the same time.

Visited on numerous occasions, mostly during the week. We came to Leo's on a Friday night and the restaurant was very busy which is great to see. The food again was very tasty and very fresh. Leo's do the best Cannelloni made with pancakes instead of pasta which are delicious two of us had this dish, the Tomato Garlic breads are the best very thin base's very fresh, my friend had the Pasta Gratinata which she loved. The Restaurant itself is really traditional great atmosphere. Great Service too the staff are really attentive and polite. We will be back soon.

The 3 course deal for £13.90 is a bargin. We had pate and homemade meatballs to start, spaghetti carbonara and spinach and ricotta tortellini for the mains along with a cheese garlic bread. All were very nice and good portion sizes. The garlic bread was excellent and the base homemade. We then had chocolate cake and tiramisu, both nice but there wasn't much flavour of brandy or coffee in the tiramisu. However overall a very nice meal and great value

We visited Leo's after being let down by the place we intended to visit and so glad we did. We arrived without a booking and the place was very close to full but the staff set the only available table we could see for us even though they looked very busy. You could tell the staff have a good manager and training as they looked busy but not rushed some how. Our drinks order was taken in very good time and served in the same manner followed within a few minuets by a waiter to take our order. Must say the staff could not have been nicer or better trained. Ok onto the food. We shared a Garlic bread topped with cheese and it was lovely with lovely cheese (not a run of the mill cheese at all) My wife followed that with Fresh Muscles and said they tasted fantastic whilst I had the Melon and Ham and both tasted lovely. We both opted for our main course Chicken with Cream, Black pepper & brandy Sauce and it was lovely. A lovely large succulent piece of chicken very well cooked and not dry in the slightest. The place was very vibrant and tables filled as soon as they became vacant and that's always a good sign. We cant wait to visit again and promise to book next time.

We were told 7.45 would be better than 8 for them. No problem we will come for that. Arrived and given a very poor table all crushed up and hemmed in. Asked if we could move. Then told the table that should have been ours was still occupied but when it became free we could move. That was actually at 8 p.m. which we wanted to book anyway. Better table but still found tables to close. Long time since we were last here, in need of re-dec. Food and service quite good. Won't return because it just isn't spacious enough for us.

The food is excellent I had calamari for starters which was yummy for mains I had sea bass which was cooked to perfection I had lemon cheesecake for sweet which was divine we had a bottle of frascati between two and our other two friends had a bottle of house rosy . The staff overall was very attentive and pleasant except for one member who didn't speak very good English and obviously did not want to be there which we thought was quite amusing and christened him the Basil Fawlty of Horwich we had a great evening and can't wait to go again.

After a recommendation from a friend we decided to celebrate my daughters birthday here. Unfortunately the service was slow, we ate from the mid week menu, a couple of dishes came wrong, and all the pizzas where soggy. Nice setting but won't be going back again.

Faultless service, genuinely warm atmosphere and outstanding food. You must try Black Pudding in Peppercorn sauce - delicious. Worth every penny!

Usually come to Leos during the week, the food on all the occasions has been super, the menu has lots of nice dishes to choose from. Leos is Traditional little Italian restaurant serving great food with great service.

Wide range of choices on menu. Service was friendly and quick. Every course was enjoyable and good value - size & £s. If you wanted time between courses they were very accommodating. The restaurant is only 10- 15 minutes or so from the motorway so quite a convenient meeting place

Came just for a meal out. Menu is extensive and very good. The food was great and service superb even on a busy Saturday night. Only one point was that the plates were cold so had to eat quick so that the food remained Hot.

Come here nearly every week...food is amazing...staff are wonderful and very friendly..they cant do enough for you...we recommend Leos to all our friends and family...best italian in the whole of bolton... 5***** A++

Not visited here for many years having moved away from the area, it's under New ownership but is just as great. The food was good quality, made fresh with no mass produced cheap ingredients. Will certainly visit again when in the area. Thanks Leo's for a fantastic night.

Called in between christmas and new year with a party of 14 friends and family. Quickly seated and we were brought menus and drinks order was taken. Drinks were out really quick as if they had been preped as the order was being taken. As there were 14 of us and the restaurant was quite busy straight after out order was taken there was some garlic bread delivered to the table on the basis that the wait for food may be a little longer than normal but the starters came flying out shortly after the garlic bread had been finished. All the food was fantastic and seemed freshly cooked. Can highly recommend the deep fried whitebait starters and the mussels in tomato and garlic (cozze marinara i think) along side the calzone and the canneloni (yes i tried my other halfs!) Everybody from our party was served at the same time with excelent service and all the staff were quick and attentive. Great meal out without breaking the bank!

We've eaten here several times as a family, usually the food and service is excellent, and we've often eaten here at the same time of year due to birthdays. This time it was disappointing, we were missing part of the order and the service took ages and the food was very bog standard which isn't our usual experience at all, staff seemed run off their feet so perhaps they were low on numbers. We didn't bother ordering desserts / coffee due to service time.

Visited Leo's with family as a table for 8 . Lovely welcome on entry and quick drink service too. We had two staff looking after our table and they were super efficient and friendly too . Orders taken promptly and food service quick too especially the starters . We were served excellent wine and we wanted for nothing during the meal which was very tasty , not sure why others have questioned the quality ?We were in there a couple of hours and this time flew by . Pleasant farewell as we left ( and we left a nice decent tip too ) and we look forward to returning here soon.

Food is disappointing. They offer a set menu, 3 courses for 13.95.....tastes frozen/bought in. Very bland and nothing special. Things like the garlic bread, which im hoping are fresh are even greasy and undesirable. Had a garlic bread with cheese and had to pick the full thing off the plate and drain the grease off it

We had friends from midlands. They loved the place. It's was full. Service was very good . Good range of food. Have been a few times before and will use again

Visited Leo's on a Sunday afternoon as part of a party of 19 people. The food was excellent and even though so many different dishes had been ordered the service was quick and efficient. We all chose the 3 course option which all agreed was very good value.The staff were all equally excellent even though, by the time we left the place was very busy with other customers as well as our group.Our visit visit but would definitely recommend and definitely visit again.

Great meals again. Prawn cocktail mushroom and prawn fondue to start. Farfallaie salmon and calzone pizza for mains. Vanilla ice cream and profiteroles to finish. 2 beers 1/2 litre of rose all for £42:50 great value.

My wife and I visited on a Friday evening. We had booked a table and the place was almost full when we got there. The atmosphere was good. We were served promptly and the food came quickly afterwards. The food was very tasty, the portions were good. We hadn't been to Leo's for a number of years but were very pleased that we decided to go back. We paid just under £40 for a bottle of wine, a starter and dessert to share and a main course each - which I think is very reasonable. Thanks you Leo's - we will be back!

Here with Friends Friday evening we hadn't booked but we were given a table with no problem. The service that we received was great the staff are very friendly. I like the traditional atmosphere the restaurant has because the place isn't too big there's a real cosy feeling and it always seems to be busy. We all really enjoyed the food, the Garlic Bread and The Pizzas are delicious very thin. Will definitely be returning.

Went on a Friday night, I was early at 5.15 but was given a table (hadn't booked). Garlic bread yummy as usual and even though you don't tell the management you want the 3 course special if someone has 3 courses with a pizza/pasta main then they automatically charge you the £13.95 special offer price. Good size portions and piping hot, we were stuffed, had to take my lasagne home!! One of our favourites locally.

The staff were all very friendly and professional, nothing too much trouble and the main thing 'The Food' was authentic Italian. Leo's has maintained its charm and been delightful for at least the last twenty years.

Had lovely meal here although I would agree with another person's comments that it is a little cramped. Please be assured that this would never influence us not to return. The staff are great the food is great and excellent value for money

First went here for a hen do and they served the nicest food. The portion sizes are more than enough it cost £13 for a whole cheese garlic bread, a pizza and poffiteroles. Definitely worth the money. We liked it so much that we want again a few weeks later. Would highly recommend.

Although I have known about Leo's for many years I have never been there before .We booked for 7.30 on a Saturday evening and the tables are closely packed together, and there wasnt a free seat however the service was prompt and attentive . . Lovely tasty food and extremely good value .Thank you and we will certainly be back .

We live close to Leos and have visited fairly regularly over the years, deal is good £13.95 for 3 courses, I had monk fish and pancetta (?) Fish cakes, meatballs and cheesecake (I can also vouch for the tiramisu), staff were great, atmosphere lovely

We arrived at Leos at 10 to 6 on a Saturday night so were surprised to be asked if we had booked. With it being so early, we hadn't so were lucky as we just about got the last table!We soon understood why it was so popular. The place buzzes with atmosphere and the service is friendly and attentive. The food was good too. They do an excellent deal all day every day where for £13 you can have any starter, pizza or pasta, and a desert. We weren't looking to eat as much as this so I had a very good seafood pizza and my partner starter portion of ribs which turned out to be huge.With a couple of pints of lager the bill came to just over £20 which we considered great value and we had a really good time at Leos.

We used to visit Leo's regularly a few years ago and for no reason, just stopped going. Anyway is 2 are now a 3 so decided to take our 3 y.o because she loves pizza, pasta and cake. :) We booked for a Sunday at 6. Turned up half an hour early, which wasn't a problem at all. The restaurant was quite busy but we were seated no problem for the friendly member of staff that greeted us. Drinks were quickly ordered and we decided on the 3 courses for £13.95 for us adults and melon starter, meatball spaghetti for the infant. Starters were delicious. Fresh cooked garlic prawns and a ginormous chicken ceasar salad. We ordered a mixed garlic bread too which was also delicious and devoured by the 3 of us.Mains of cannelloni and lasagne, which were both huge portions for the price, super tasty and piping hot. We were stuffed by this point, but our little girl insisted on us ordering dessert. All homemade and again delicious. Tiramisu, cheesecake and chocolate cake.The staff were very attentive and welcoming without rushing us or being overbearing. Food was served with no delay, even considering it was now packed.. But, the best bit was the bill and the fact children under 10 eat free on Sundays. Bonus. We're already planning our next trip.

Set meal now £13:95 first rise in 7 years still great value. Starters breaded whitebait and monk fish and panacea fish cakes mains salmon in pasta and mushroom and ham in penne with grilled cheese. Profiteroles and Irish coffee 1 beer and 1/2 litre of rose £39 superb food and service
