Luciano's at Middlebrook in Bolton

We chose the French toast, it was OK, but there was hardly any mascarpone and half a strawberry sliced, nothing like the picture on their website. The salmon and scrambled eggs was also OK, but the person dishing out the plates is very inconsistent with portions as we got hardly any salmon and a small portion of egg, where as another table got double the amount of both salmon and egg! The crepes were nice. Sadly we wouldn't return for food, there are much better places to go.

Visited here on the 22nd October 2024. It opened at 9am and there was a small queue waiting at 8:45am when we arrived. Upon opening, we were warmly welcomed and the place gradually started to fill up with a nice vibe. Both myself and my work colleague had breakfast and coffees. Food and drink was excellent, well presented and good quality. Staff were friendly and attentive, but not over bearing. It will definitely be my go to place on further visits to Bolton.

I really not sure why some folks write so good review, maybe a favor to the business or what? if the food is good then you should, but if its not then must give honest view. I had a meal there yesterday with family, and even my 12 years old can tell how horrible was the food. Its SO SALTY, at first I thought maybe a mistake, they replaced one dish but its same, All 4 main dishes are extremely salty, Super Store available sauce and heavily loaded with cheese. Not all Italian native chef are good. And, some new furniture and better seating arrangement may help...

I spent 2 weeks in Greater Manchester, and I came across Luciano's on my second day there. Every aspect of this beautiful restaurant/cafe was a delightful experience. From the coffee to the meals, atmosphere and the incredible service was amazing. I was fortunate enough to get to know some of the staff on a personal note because of my Italian heritage and it was like having my own family around me. When it comes to coffee, I need it to be of the best quality and taste and Luciano's delivered every time without fail. When it came to the food, well, all I can say is that the flavors and the aromas took me back in time reminiscent of my mother's home cooking and that says everything for me. My only disappointment is that I didn't get to try everything on the menu from the variety of breakfasts through to lunches and dinner. If I was staying longer, I would have definitely worked my way through the menu. (For now, the gnocchi and the lobster filled ravioli is a must try.) There is no denying the quality of the food, as for the staff they were always welcoming with a warm greeting and smile on their face, and nothing was a problem. For some I guess that price is a factor in food selection. As far as I and my Family and friends were concerned, the price of all meals, drinks hot and cold was extremely reasonable. We had no complaints at all about the price. We hope to get back to the UK one day and I will definitely have Luciano's on my list to return to for a coffee and meals. Looking forward to seeing all the staff at Luciano's again. Wishing Luciano's every success and hope to be back soon. Love visiting Luciano's. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Food is delicious and the best cup of coffee around , in my opinion.

Lovely shared platter of olives, cheeses, salamis etc and coffee. Presented beautifully in a clean, contemporary venue, not too crowded, good facilities. Satisfying and enjoyable, will try out their other locations too, & will return here soon. Thanks x

We were visiting Middlebrook after dropping my car off for a service. We decided to have a coffee before we started a bit of retail therapy. It was quite busy and noisy. Not sure why people feel the need to shout. Gone are the days of chatting quietly over a coffee or lunch. Walking back in just after 12.30 we found a table, ordered drinks and our food. The meals were delicious as usual and we finished off with another coffee. Service was prompt and professional. The prices have increased significantly since our last visit, but this is happening everywhere. As long as the food and service is good, it is worth continuing to support this business…

Called in to have lunch pre cinema. We had the antipasti which was yummy and a bowl of chips. Enjoyed our experience it was a relaxing way to start our day out.

I absolutely loved this place!! The staff were really great, excellent service and the food was superb 👍. My only niggle was the poor access to the toilet and that's why I didn't put 5 stars in atmosphere . I will be going again and highly recommend the meatballs!!

Heard lots of good things about this place but never visited til today. From walking in the door the friendly Italian vibe hits you. The gorgeous service manager with the loveliest accent greets everyone like long lost family and it’s fabulous! The ambiance is laid back, the staff are so helpful and the food is beyond fantastic! As it was my birthday, I was treated to some beautiful cannoli and it was much appreciated. I will definitely be visiting again. Well done Lucianos……..just like being in Italy ❤️😘😘

Would give no stars if I could! Let me son do 2 hours work for no pay, no thanks absolutely nothing! Obviously just using young ones for work and not paying them! Food is overpriced anyway!

We used to go to Luciano's mainly because there was an antiques fair next door. But now we go to the antiques fair mainly because it's next door to Luciano's. Excellent foodand charming staff. You must try the Colezzione Grande (Sicilian Full Breakfast). Mavellous. And the best coffee this side of Palermo. Highly reccomended

We are staying in the area for work and looking for somewhere to eat..i would highly recommend for both good food and great customer service. Its so refreshing to dine with a small business who care about their customers. Big shout out to yolanda your recommendations have been great our 2nd visit and we will be back tomorrow night!

As part of regular catch up with friends at Middlebrook (central for all 3 of us) we’ve always overlooked this restaurant tucked away in a corner - well we’re now considering ditching our rotation of restaurants altogether and just sticking with Luciano’s! Bright and cosy atmosphere with great service and delicious food - far above their surrounding competitors. The bakery goods all look pleasing in their counter when you enter in and will be looking forward to a coffee and cake sometime soon! Would highly recommend.

A popular venue with a good, solid menu. Service good. Well placed for Middlebrook Shopping or Football matches at the stadium. Staff are friendly and attentive. Toilet facilities very limited.

Luciano's is a traditional Italian deli and restaurant that has been stable in the Middlebrook retail park for as long as I can remember. The food is always really good and great value for money and the place has a real community feel. The prawn panini is highly recommended and the sharing platter is also great for a light bite whilst indulging in some retail therapy. If you're shopping at Middlebrook, forget the chain options and head to Luciano's. You won't be disappointed.

I was invited by a dear friend for lunch at Luciano’s Middlebrook one day last week. Very pleasantly surprised by the good menu choice, all prepared fresh, included menu variations to suit all customer’s requests. The lovely and convenient setting enhanced the atmosphere given by the knowledgeable Italian staff that served us! Great experience, I’ll be definitely pay another visit soon! Grazie Team Luciano!

Lovely staff, everyone is super nice and friendly . This review should be taken with a grain of salt as Luccianos specialises in Pasta, and me and my girlfriend got the Seafood Paella and stir fry, so not really a fair assessment. The stir fry was good, the chicken was tender although underseasoned, the rice was not fully cooked and grainy, however the peppers in the dish were superb, the best peppers i've ever had, they were soft and tender and soaked up all the flavour of the dish. I also feel the serving could have been slighlty larger. The Paella was bland and the rice was once again grainy, although not all the way through. My girlfriend does love the pasta though, as shes had it a few times and swears by it. The breakfast is good as well, although the eggs are definitely the weak point and aren't very nice. The millionaire shortbread they do is also a masterpiece, and like the peppers, is the best i've ever had. The atmosphere is nothing special either, but is nice and comfy.

Always wonderful service and atmosphere - such friendly, kind, hospitable staff. The food I have had with friends/family has been really lovely - freshly cooked, tasty and beautifully presented. They are often willing to adapt a little too to accommodate food requirements, for which I'm very grateful. I'd love it if they did a slightly more extensive brunch menu, not so bread/panini heavy... that said, I haven't checked in a while so this may have changed! I'll look again. Fully recommend. Always a warm friendly welcome from all the staff, the meals are always freshly prepared and delicious with presentation clearly highly prioritised. You must try their cakes if you have room left after your meal as they are just devine!!

This is my favourite place to eat! I cannot recommend it highly enough! I usually go after the match and it really is the best restaurant ever. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is amazing. I would recommend the languni diavola which is just awesome...wash down with perroni or morreti..omg ! Make sure you try the Italian food it is very authentic and tasty! Bravo 👌👏

After a shopping trip around the retail park, we decided to go to Luciano’s for lunch before finishing off our shopping. It was extremely busy as we entered, but less than 5 minutes later we were seated. Our drinks order was taken shortly after we were seated, then our food order. I was a little surprised that a side portion of fries we had ordered was delivered almost immediately. They were hot and deliciously crispy. We had expected them to be delivered with our mains. Our main courses were absolutely divine. The Il Limone my wife’s favourite and my Salmon salad were as good as we expected them to be. As it was so busy and noisy, when we finished eating there were people queuing to be seated. We decided to forego deserts and pay at the counter. Allowing others to be seated more speedily. We love eating here and will return…

We had an amazing meal at Lucianos celebrating a family birthday. The staff were friendly and engaging, particularly with my children (7yo and 3yo). The food was fantastic and incredibly delicious!! There was no children’s menu but every dish was available as a half portion for the kids and they even made a plain tomato sauce pasta dish off menu for my youngest. Would recommend 100% and looking forward to our next visit !

Managed to get a very rare child free tea out together, so picked Luciano's as we love it there. Had the Casereecce Bolognese which is a new feature on the menu, oh my gosh, it was delicious! Would definitely recommend it and will certainly be having it again. We thought we would treat ourselves to a dessert too and on the new menu, they have sticky toffee pudding, served warm with vanilla ice-cream which was delicious. My partner stuck to his favourites off the menu meatballs starter and gnocci Norma which were as good as always. Fantastic service as always from Iolanda and the rest of the staff, Grazie

My husband and I love it here. Superbly placed. It's a beautiful restaurant, where the staff are great. Attentive friendly and funny. I can easily spend a few hours in here. We've been for breakfast, lunch and nibbles, or a cheeky cocktail.

This was a delightful meal time. Unhurried and lightheartedness from all the staff. My friend and I were totally looked after and given space to chat.

I feel you should know... I could write pages listing all the wonderful things about Luciano's at Middlebrook without scratching the surface..... The menu, the taste of the food, the atmosphere and the absolutely first class hospitality from the staff, all of whom made my wife and me feel so welcome....! One lovely lady in particular who helped us was so kind that she forgave my embarrassing, attempted "thank-you" in Italian. When we arrived just before noon and were offered a choice of either the Breakfast or Lunch menus... we were so spoiled for choice... We'll have to go back again very, very soon ! Pam and I have dined out 'quite a few' times over the last thirty+ years.. But... today wasn't only one of our most enjoyable dining experiences ever.... It truly was.... Perfect !!! visited Sunday 24 sept 2023 at 10.15 am I'm a romanian food lover..who miss european continental breakfast. the lady reminde me so much of european buzzing breakfast time. canoli fav desert of my wife she loved creps or tiramisu are my fav. we had breakfast .. i had panini with eggs, simplyy love it. Properr cofffee ,italian way 😍😍😍 now this will be my sunday breakfast ritual. after 3 years of been in Manchester i find the amazing ,chic place for soul and mind Grazieee !!! 🌸🌸🤗🤗☕️ .

Been going here every Sunday morning for brunch. Very welcoming staff always been looked after since day 1, go above and beyond and the food is excellent.

Food generally good, however cakes are stored in a fridge, whi h renders sponge cake dry.

Place to go for best drinks and food on middelbrook by far, very friendly staff and great atmosphere Whether with friends or family or even on your own,forget the rest this is the best Luciano's .

Been several times before and enjoyed each visit, this time it wasn’t as good! My panini was very dry, the cheese hadn’t melted the sausage and caramelised onion together as you’d expect, as I was eating it everything fell out and I ended up eating...

Myself and my family have been numerous times and keep coming back. Food is good quality, staff are polite and attentive and there is always a nice atmosphere. They also do a good coffee.
