Franca's in Bolton

First time eating Francas, due to being a fussy eater I was asking many questions about the different dishes. I ended up ordering a romana pizza, the base was perfectly rolled and the mushrooms were precisely cut and just the right amount of cheese! Although i’m sure I was a pain, the food was great and the service was impeccable.

I have been going to Francas since she first opened up the pizza parlour and ever since from day one to present we have never ever have been disappointed with the food the taste is same as it was when she started so all we can say is fantastico Cibo Delizioso

Absolutely delicious food as usual but not having been for a long time unfortunately but will be back very soon.. Francas Special pizza roast potatoes garlic mushrooms coleslaw garlic bread tiramasu egg custard from Smithills Farm and house white wine was honestly and truly an awesome birthday meal thank yooooooooooo all so much cheers from both of us 😊

First time visit Absolutely beautiful food! We will definitely vist more often. So tasty, really filling. We justed wanted to eat more but was full to the brim. Saved some for lunch tomorrow. Excellent service Busy place, which tells me awesome food, customers in and out like Yo-Yos Thank you 😊

Worst pizza’s I’ve ever had from a takeaway. I thought the pizza’s were small at first considering the price but I was relieved when I tried eating them as less for the bin. The base was like cardboard and we questioned if the cheese was real as it was more like rubber. The potato wedges were the only thing worth eating. I will definitely not be returning!!

Huge disappointment pizza base was spongy not thin and unusually had a plate like edge? Nothing like pizza as you would expect, even wondered if it was microwaved to heat up, chicken and sweet corn was awful. Such a let down

It's takeway but they don't deliver. Its cerianly worth a trip to collect. Excellent food. Been going here over 20 years. Never fails. Impressive when Franca over orders the fresh vine tomatoes and ends up just giving them to customers. Reinforces the idea that it is very fresh and very high quality. Absolutely horrid … ordered breaded garlic mushrooms… just mushrooms with garlic oil. Creamy ham Tagliatelle there was no cream whatsoever … basically it was cooked pasta with ham, topped with some sort of cheese …. Very bland and tasteless. Would not recommend.

Really gorgeous pizza with excellent ingredients. We had a Pescatore a Vegetariana and my daughter had the potato bread ( which was amazing) . You can really tell the diffetence between these and normal takeaway pizza, ....less greasy, less stodgy. I'd go as far to say the pizza's were the best we have had from a takeaway in quite a while.

Have being going to Franca's for years. Really good, tasty food prepared and served by lovely staff.

I ordered the francas special pizza and plain Garlic bread in store to take home tonight and was very disappointed. It cost just over £15 as I had to supplement the order with 2 cans of fizzy drinks to hit the £15 minimum card payment in store. The waiting time wasn't too bad, then a 10 minute drive home to get on a plate and ended up with a 3/10 meal. When i unpacked the food, the pizza delaminated, a set bland cheese and topping layer slides of the wet pizza base. with what tastes like undercooked onion and pepper chunks in the set plain cheese, an extremely dry garlic bread that was only half eaten before being packaged for the bin. Bolton is overrun with takeaways covering every culture and taste and aspect of takeaway food to the point that I cannot understand how they all stay in business. I tend to look for a takeaway that specializes in a food type which there are few in Bolton, but I put my trust in Francas tonight and unfortunately its the worst Italian food I have ever had. Its not restaurant quality or even takeaway quality, the portions are poor, and maybe Franca who took my order should do some of the food prep, or cooking, rather than her staff as it was extremely disappointing and not a credit too her name. I had been told to try this place but I cannot understand why

Went to Francas tonight and without doubt this has to be the best pizzas and garlic bread i have tasted for years and i will without doubt trying their ampel menu over the coming weeks so anyone who likes pizzas please do yourself a favour and give francas a try

Been coming here for years! The old adage of you pay for what you get rings true with Franca's. It is a little more expensive than other food outlets, but what do you expect when you are getting the best food outside of Manchester? You've not truly visited Bolton, if you haven't had a Franca's.

Been going for years. Easily the best in Bolton for genuine Italian cooking. If you want a greasy American style pizza look somewhere else.

The iron lady rules with an iron fist wrapped in a velvet glove. Pizzas good though.

Terrific food. Every time. The meatballs in particular are delicious. But to be fair it all is. And the ‘collect a stamp’ card is a great add on. Lovely people also. Go.

I sent my friends to this restaurant with my highest recommendations. I go to this restaurant often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The the food there is appetizing and the team is very friendly and cooperative. Every time we eat in this place we have a cheerful evening. I recommend this place with pleasure.

We love eating out. Last night we arrived in this fine restaurant which friends told us about. We spent a beautiful time there with delicious meal and a courteous stuff and a talented chief cook. We put this restaurant in our phone list and we will surely visit again soon. We warmly recommend.

Italian pizza as it should be, great thin base, fresh ingredients and a refreshing change from big brands and small shops trying to do all the takeaways.

Trying to support local restaurants, but when you order pizza you don’t expect to just have a thick layer of cheese with no flavour what so ever. The price is 100% over priced for the size and taste. Took one bite and threw the rest of the pizza away, I guess a bowl of cereal for tea it is for me.

We travel 20 miles for the stunnìng food from Frankas

In the past I've given francas top marks. However it's only right to mention when they aren't up to scratch which I'm afraid to say my last meal wasn't. Pasta over cooked and bland and the tiramsu was stodgy. The best bit of the meal was the garlic bread.

I meet friends in this lovely place many times a year! This is the best place to pass a nice evening. I go to this spot routinely. The meals are just great, the team is professional and the prices are good. I enjoy being in this spot for a rich lunch.

Fabulous Italian takeaway. Probably the best Pizzas in Bolton. Lovely Pasta dishes too . The coleslaw is a must when ordering ! Also does takeaway wine and beer and pasta sauces. Lovely place. Definately recommended.

Hand made & loads to flavour. So much better than the main chain pizza places. They dont deliver but its worth the trip to collect your order. Highly recommended

This spot is my preferred one. I eat in many restaurants but to this one I go the most. The team is very warm and the food they cook is so yummy. I never miss an opportunity to have a nice meal in this place. I recommend this place with pleasure.

I get to eat here a lot since I work close by. I like how their customer service is always fantastic and they keep the spot well kept all the time. Prices are affordable and they serve large portions.

This place is worth a visit. They serve large portions for reasonable rates. Regularly well organized and with great atmosphere. Will come visit again.

Friendly people. You can see them preparing fresh pizza. I ordered a Margarita, it was average in taste not outstanding as I expected.

Worst lasagna ever ! No cheese not even two full slices of pasta and watery. Unbelievable .I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the package. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is my OH loves the pizza . Very very dissatisfied . This picture was after I lifted some equal slop out of the carton. Used to love the cheesey garlic bread but this time it was chewy . I thought hard about leaving this review but decided it was that bad I had too! The last time I ordered a cream sauce so I believed yet it was tomato . This aside my partner thinks the Pizza is amazing 3 stars over 1.

this is a well established family business,,, they have extensive homemade products for sale sauces in jars etc etc ... they have takeaway menu which is excellent and top packaging, everything is 5 star quality, best to phone and collect they will tell you how long to ready to collect, the food is better than restaurant,

The best Italian food I’ve eaten! Pizza was amazing and so was the pasta. It was made super fresh as well and quite quickly - all at a really reasonable price. I would absolutely recommend to anyone. It’s a really friendly atmosphere and one of the best experiences I’ve had with any take out or restaurant.

Franca's pizzas (and everything they sell, for that matter) are the best in Bolton. Nice dry bases and a range of delicious toppings. Friendly, speedy service. They don't deliver, but who cares? Our family has used them for years and we've never been let down.

Franca's is second to none! Fresh, quality ingredients, with a great range of goods for sale, as well, to enable great results at home, using Franca's recipe's. Exceptionally clean, with fast efficient, and friendly staff. It's no surprise that customers return again and again, once they find this fantastic place for all things Italian!

Definitely different to any other takeaway you can get around Bolton, genuine pizza, not just grease! Staff were great too as I was 30p short and didn't have my card so they let me off. Excited to return and try the rest of the menu.

Ok pizza, chewy garlic bread and expensive.

Garlic bread with tomato and basil picked it up home within 4 mins and was cold. My friend got the special pizza and was too many onions and that's all she could taste. For an Italian takeaway not the best.

Franca's is Fantastic, I have never been disappointed with a meal. Great choice of food, lovely staff too.

Best in bolton nice people nice food

Rang Frances to get a Francs favourite and when I went to pick up I got a Francas Special instead. The guy who served me offered to change it but I didn’t want to wait so I took the Pizza instead. Words can’t describe how awful the pizza was. It ended up looking like one big sloppy mess in the box as I attempted to cut a piece. Good customer service however that didn’t fill my hungry belly.

Always liked Franco pizza sinch back in the market place with their little stall, love their pizzas and the way they are made, but was a bit disappointed today with them, asked for chilli flakes to be put on and instead got loads of fresh chillies put on loosely everywhere, thought they might have been melted a bit? Upon paying the sum coming to 20 pounds, we got told we can't pay by card unless it's 25 or over? I was very lucky I had just about enough cash, feel this is a bit extreme.

Takeaway but does NOT deliver. Authentic, good tasting, good value. Suggest telephone order 30 mins in advance. Street parking outside

Ordered a mushroom magretta, 2 lots of meatballs and some ribs, Firstly I'll gladly say the pizza was absolutely brilliant, that's were the good stuff ends, The meatballs had more grizzle on them then meat an the sauce was like they'd just poured on a cheap jar of pasta sauce and as for the ribs, Pretty sure they'd been microwaved to hell as they smelt like S**t and ha the same textured as a rubber. Moral of story just go Ceasars and save yourself the trouble of paying over the odd for food your just going to chuck in the bin.

Don't go back If you remember special, keep it there. We had passed several times after going to Bolton and said do you how good....Yes. Well what a disappointment Will not be going back.

Had better food at cotton kier. The pasta was like mush and the sauce was beyond bland. Had two separate dishes and you couldn't tell the difference between the two. Living off a name. Go to Sicilia Mia if you want real italian food.

I have been gong to Frances for over 20 years and would always give it 5 stars but "What has heppend to the size of the Pizzas". We ordered large Franca's special. It was the size of a traditional small. I even went back in the shop and said " We ordered a large". That is a large came the reply. That is the smallest large and a massive difference to the great pizza it use to be. We literally had 2 slices each ( 2 of us). Sorry but if that the future then won't be going back. Which is a shame as always enjoyed them but felt so deflated and ripped off. ( and Hungary literally had to make something extra at home..you shouldn't feel like that after a "large" pizza!

I have eaten pizza around the world and genuinely rate these pizzas amongst the best. The base Is thin but has a satisfying chewiness. The base permits the topping to remain moist. I would recommend the special or the pescatore for the classic flavours. The regular pizzas mare medium in size but are a healthy single portion. You should remember the loyalty system which is worth a free pizza every eight or so bought. As a deli the place is a bit limited but it is worth further investigation.

Tried this for the first time. The Retreat pizzas are far better & better value for money.

Pizza is top quality, prices are not.

Lovely place but the pizzas are not all that great there is no tomato sauce on the base I had a chicken and mushroom with sweet corn everything fell of the base as it was to soggy and over powerd my mushrooms will not be going for pizzas again.

By far the best pizza, Italian take away in or around Bolton. The food is made to perfection with fresh ingredients , none of these other so called pizza places come even remotely close. I would highly recommend the garlic bread loaded with mushrooms.... awesome.

Been going to Francas for over ten years and is by far the best take away around. The food is of high end restaurant quality and quite honestly I can’t think of an Italian restaurant I’ve been to where the food was better. The prices are very reasonable and service is great. Highly recommend Francas favourite it’s absolutely amazing!

Been a regular for years, it's a Bolton institution. Pizzas are great. Pasta is great. Regular friendly staff, decent loyalty card stamp for free stuff.

The Best Pizza Place In The World !

We have been coming to Franca's from the very start in 1986. And never had a bad experience ever. Best pizza place full stop.

First time visit to here and will be the last. We ordered a Carnevale Pizza ((feast of meat) Bolognese base, ham, spicy Italian pork, chicken, spicy Italian sausage & onion) and it was the driest pizza ever! The toppings fell off it when I cut it and didn't even look like there was any bolognese base on it, with very little cheese too. very disappointed :(
