Ridgeway Arms in Bolton

Booked last minute , they squeezed us in and we were glad they did. Haven't been here for some while but really enjoyed our food, the Ridgeway special was fabulous, so much meat and a lovely dianne sauce. Staff were great even though they had 2 party's going on. Well done and thank you.

I came here today for lunch and was amazed at the view from the pub upto the pike. The food here is delicious and the staff are really welcoming. My dog played on the big lawn and was allowed inside too. This is a cracking pub. 👍

I had the burger and a nice pint of Real Ale. I have had the burger twice recently and it is really good. ..if you try anything go for the steak burger..it has relish , cheese and bacon ,soo good . I really like the ambience of this place and Its become a regular spot,

As others have mentioned, previously when it was the Rivington, was excellent quality and clean throughout. We went expecting a nice meal for my 41st birthday, however we was all very disappointed. Most if not all the dishes was very bland and little to no taste or flavour, the mushroom starter was very basic, previously I had this when it was the Rivington and was very creamy and a nice deep flavour as you would expect from this starter, unfortunately this dish was nothing in comparison, next up myself and my partner ordered the chicken gyros, when it arrived it was almost like a overcooked chicken soup on a plate with some flat bread some fries in a side dish and a salad that was dry without any dressing. Dessert was ok, probably because the chef didn't have to make this. Even the coffee was rubbish. Very disappointed and will never return 😞

Delicious food by people who care ….love the fact the chef puts Parmesan shavings on my salad….also had the burger which was delicious,,,,thanks to the professional bar staff who always make sure the drinks are perfect

Very disappointed. Went with a friend for my birthday. Very slow service. Booked a table 2 days ago asked for a table overlooking the bowling green. When we arrived the place was quiet, no reserved signs on table and no table available as requested. Had to ask for the lunch menu. Ordered the fish goujons on a white barm cake with tartare sauce/no tomato sauce. Came as a panini on totilla bread dripping in tomato sauce/no tartare! Had to send it back to the kitchen. Came back with no tartare sauce, had to ask for a portion separately. Ordered a portion of chunky chips, seemed like oven cooked, not "real" chips Asked for coleslaw, told they don't do it! Only upside the server was very friendly..... Won't be returning - back to The Rivington for me.

Great food and staff. Extensive menu, from Pizzas and Pastas, traditional fayre and plenty of other specialities. Always consistent quality. Highly recommend.

What another lovely evening meal out here. The food is truly beautiful,the service 10 out 10 and such a relaxed environment. We love it here, would highly recommend.❤️

A family treat for everyone, we where greated by friendly and very helpful staff, the waitress was so professional with our drinks and food order, the steak was cooked to perfection, the sea bass was so delicious too. Definitely recommend for a evening meal and drinks.

V. Disappointing as having eaten here in the past, albeit pre covid, the food was good. This evenings meal was probably the worst pub meal I’ve ever had. My partners white wine was luke warm so had to ask for ice; I ordered fish and chips only to be informed there were no chips and was offered mash or French Fries - not a great start. The fish was like cardboard, dried out, batter inedible - it appeared to be a frozen fish simply heated up in the oven for too long - freshly cooked in beer batter with hand cut chips it sadly wasn’t.

Excellent customer service. Contacted before visit to make sure I could guarantee food and accessibility requirements. Very responsive before and during visit. Menu is very extensive. Recommend looking at it before you visit! Food was excellent both in terms of choice, quality and price. We had prompt and friendly service. I had the gammon and my friend had the lemon sea bass. We were delighted with our meals. I had a lovely glass of red wine. Plenty of wine choices.

A last minute trip and a google search for local restaurants- This was a superb choice. Excellent food- a chef who really knows how to cook a steak- amazing 🙏 The staff were so very nice and helpful. We have just had the nicest evening in a very long time. Sadly we live 5 hours away, or we would definitely be regulars here👍 Thank you to Dan and his lovely team .

Always a warm welcome and a great meal. Well worth a visit, great choice from the menu, a varied selection to choose from.

We've been here many times when it was the Rivington and never had a bad experience. This however was terrible. Poor service, no atmosphere ( didn't even put any background music on until we'd been in half an hour). We had three different chicken dishes all awful, the chicken was very overcooked, really hard to eat, we all left it. The waitress came to ask if everything was ok, we told her about the chicken, she just said 'oh' and walked away. We'd booked online and in the comments box, asked for a specific table with the best light,as one of our group is virtually blind. There was someone already at the table we'd asked for, we were just told there were plenty of other places to sit. We waited ages but no one came to ask if we wanted dessert/ coffee, there was hardly anyone else in, the waitress was just sat chatting. Eventually we gave up on dessert , had to go and find the waitress to ask for the bill. Will never be going back.

Lovely place, lovely staff and lovely food. Definitely my favourite place! Food is always fresh and hot and the staff are very attentive. Even when the restraint is quiet, the atmosphere is still lovely.

Awful will never visit again. Roast dinner beef very thick full of fat and inedible. Vegetables sent back and still undercooked. Packet mash and frozen roast potatoes and vegetables. Would not recommend!

Very welcoming, Fantastic food at reasonable prices.....Fillet steak was great as always, the cajun chicken kebab was unbelievable, lasagne and gammon all top draw...... friendly staff couldn't do enough for us

We have visited The Ridgeway Arms many times over the last couple of months and have never been disappointed. The food is always amazing and served hot whilst the staff are friendly and make you feel welcomed always. Would definitely recommend.

Waited 40 mins for the worlds smallest meal! The kids meal was bigger then the adults. Child’s chips were under done and the nuggets were so cheap. Supposed to have a kids meal deal and didn’t receive half of it. Would definitely not recommend
