Nabucco Bar & Restaurant in Bolton

First time we've been here and will definitely go back, the food was excellent (we had tomato garlic bread, sea bass, pizza and a tiramisu and it was all spot on). The staff are attentive without being overbearing and the atmosphere was really nice, the music was a bit out there but we enjoyed it! Best Italian food we've had in a long while

We were directed to sit at a table on the first floor, which normally doesn't have a lot of atmosphere, but it was busy and felt great. The service and food were excellent. The knowledgeable wine waiter recommended an Italian wine we had never heard of but turned out to be a perfect match to our food. Highly recommend but better to book Friday to Sunday.

Great place with good staff. The food is great as well. Just don't sit on the top floor where it's too hot

This is the second time we have dined here and both times have been exceptional. We came as a group of 4 and had starters and main courses, both were of generous portions. The service was fantastic and couldn’t ask for more pleasant staff.

Been here 3 times now. Honestly, the BEST food I have had! The staff are all lovely and very well trained. The food is well priced. The portions are huge, and the chefs are all genuine Italian (you can hear them speaking Italian behind the line), and the food is absolutely insane. Such a welcome addition to Westhoughton, and we will be back many many more times I'm sure. Hats off to all the staff, the management, and everyone involved. My only 1 slight negative would be it can be a little cold downstairs.. whack that air con temp up a bit 😜 but takes nothing away from what is an amazing restaurant.

We had a lovely meal, the food was excellent, the staff was very professional and nothing was too much trouble. It was our first time at Nabucco we will definitely return.

A few weeks ago me and my wife we went for a drive out and we came across this restaurant. My wife suggested to try but me as Italian I’m always sceptical when talking about Italian food . In the end we walked in and first impact was wow The place looks amazing. Anyway went true the menus and it reassure me as was not the “Usual “ Italian restaurant “old fashion “ with the same things . From the starter going true pasta and main lots modern vibrant dish. It mess my mind up of what to eat . In the end i let the chef do it for me . And was not better idea to do. Everything was exceptional . And the price is average but with high quality and standard. Well done 👍 Can’t wait to coming back

Good food, great service by all the young ladies and the restaurant has done great credit to the old National Westminster building with its lay out.

The food was okay. Portions aren't massive and food arrived a bit cold. We arrived at 7pm and didn't get our mains until almost 9pm. There aren't that many tables really so unsure as to why service was so slow. When we were seen by the staff they were nothing but polite but we weren't even asked if we wanted more drinks etc. Also asked for water for the table which never arrived. I would potentially try the restaurant again though as friends have said good things and it may have just been an off night.

A huge thanks to everyone at Nabucco Westhoughton who made our daughter Natalie's 30th birthday so special last night. The waiting staff were absolutely amazing and couldn't do enough for us. The food for first class, thanks to the brilliant chef. The setting was gorgeous. We are very lucky to have such an amazing restaurant in Westhoughton.

I really like this place. The whole feel of the place is quality. The food is brilliant. I've been twice in the last month, and both times, the food has been spot on. The price point is perfect as well. You always feel you had value. I'd recommend it and I'm pretty sure I'll be back very soon.

Fourth visit and be never been disappointed. This time there were 5 of us and booked for 5pm. At the last minute we were given babysitting duties for our 2 grandchildren. Rang the restaurant to explain and they said no problem. All the staff, including the manager/owner, went out of their way to accommodate us. The food is good quality, as is the wine. The staff are attentive, friendly and efficient. Quality restaurant.

A very strange Frenchman brought his own cup from home and served me a coffee in it, saying "I might not have done it enough" when didn't fall ill, but then later giving pleurisy, then said "he wants me to do it again" when I revisited. He told me he was from "Isigny-sur-Mer" but I am not the expert of French (so may have been similar sounding place)

Really disappointed with our recent experience, it was our 1st time trying this place and it came recommended. i booked for a birthday and other than the young lady who took our order the other staff were far from attentive, we never got asked if our meals were ok (starters or mains) i hadnt eaten half of my pasta and a young chap took my playe without asking if i am finished. We wasnt offered desserts or drinks) we left our food table and went to the bar for cocktails and quite frankly could of left as no one was interested, the service overall was just poor we asked for our bill at the bar after not being offered it at any point. The staff seemed very young and distracted. However the food was beautiful and the resturant decor is lovely. But i would be reluctant to return.

What can I say about this gem of a restaurant? It is our go to place and has been our regular eatery for over 6 months. I think between myself and the Mrs we must have tried everything on the menu and nothing disappoints. The food, atmosphere and staff are all the best you could possibly hope for in any restaurant. Pricing is extremely reasonable for such high quality, freshly cooked food. Just go. You deserve to experience this culinary delight for yourself!

Wasn’t sure what to expect from this place after reading some of the reviews but we always like to try things for ourselves. Glad we did as it was fantastic and the food was delicious. We will definitely come back again. The service was also excellent on our visit contrary to some of the reviews we’ve read so huge well done to you all. The building and decor is so beautiful, overall a really nice Italian Restaurant will 100% go back.

By far the best Italian restaurant in the area. We've been a number of times and are always really well looked after by the staff who are friendly and attentive. The food is fresh and of a high quality. I can recommend the calamari for a starter - it's the best I've ever tasted - soft and lightly battered...it's perfect. The garlic bread is delicious, we always get half tomato and half cheese as we can't choose between the two as they're so tasty. I always struggle to pick between a pasta or pizza dish. I love the fresh pasta and the sauces never disappoint, but the pizza base and toppings are so tasty so it's always a hard decision. There's a good variety of desserts, my favourites are the cheesecake and the tiramisu. If you're looking for authentic, fresh Italian food with great service and atmosphere, Nabucco is the place to go.

Have eaten here twice - first time was with a group of neighbours and we requested to sit in the old safe/vault. The second was my 30th birthday where we had forgotten to request seating in the vault and my husband asked if it was available when we arrived. We had a brilliant experience both times. Food was beautiful (I think between the 10 guests we had over the 2 visits, we tried a fair chunk of the menu!), the drinks were great and everything was very reasonably priced. The restaurant itself is clean and decorated well and the staff are lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and our requests were accommodated with zero fuss. Would recommend Nabucco to anyone in the local area :)

Visited a few times now at different times of the week too, quality and service have been of a high standard each time regardless. Almost seems out of place (in a good way) for this neck of the woods.

Have dined here on 4 occasions inside the last 12 months and have been very satisfied every time with the whole experience. 5 stars across the board!

Always wanted to visit since seeing the renovation on Grand Designs. The food was amazing, very flavoursome and cooked to perfection. We all loved our dishes. The waitress was brilliant. She took our dessert order without the use of pen and paper and got all 6 dishes correct. She also has a great sense of humour. Sadly the atmosphere got slightly soured by a party of folk complaining about the fact that chilli hadn't been listed on the menu for a particular dish which contained nduja sausage. It only takes 30 seconds to look up Nduja sausage to see it contains herbs and spices, along with spicy Calabrian peppers (givinga chilli type heat). The Italian chef tried in vein to explain this to them, and the fact that the sausage is imported, but they failed to grasp what he was saying. So when they eventually left, using choice language in front of children, the chef came and apologised to us. This was not necessary but also very good of him and only served to impress us more.

Visited this restaurant many times and still amazes me every time never had a bad meal tried another special off the board and was excellent would definitely recommend as the staff food and cocktails are top notch

We booked a table for 8 on the 8th june 2023 to celebrate a 40th and 60th birthday and was greeted by very attentive staff who were very good and a credit to the owners nothing was to much for them to deal with the service and food was excellent and presented beautifully and tasted divine we had our seating in the old bank vault which was perfect for our evening I have no negatives only high praise for the entire evening a particularly nice point was when all the staff brought in the birthday cakes and joined in singing happy birthday etc can't wait to visit again many thanks for a great evening

We had an amazing meal to celebrate my husband's birthday last night. The food and service were amazing. Don't go to Manchester to eat if you are local to Westhoughton, as the food at Nabucco is better than San Carlos. We will definitely be back. Pic is of the special fish mix.

A little bit of class nice to feel your out somewhere special

Third visit and unfortunately, nowhere near as pleasant an experience as previous visits. We had mussels to start, which came with toasted bread, (unusual accompaniment) and a thin tomato based sauce, which washed away the flavour of the seafood. Some of the mussels were not opened and should not have been served and some had barnacles, (should have been scrubbed). The lamb cutlets were satisfactory, however, the fillet tournedos was disappointing; meat a little stringy, sauce over-reduced and a burnt crouton.Also, served with skin on wedges? Not impressed. Nice bottle of Malbec though. The young girl who waited our table was lovely but a little over familiar. Didn’t like the pokey room next to the door; lacked atmosphere. Unfortunately, will probably think twice before spending my hard-earned money there again. Some nicer eateries in and around Westhoughton now.

Being Italian, I carefully selected a restaurant that referred to true Italian tradition. Through Google I did a thorough search, inspecting the menus and the various ingredients of the typical Italian dishes, of all the restaurants in Bolton and the surrounding area. To celebrate my birthday I was very demanding, and I wanted a restaurant where nothing had been changed, which the recipes respected the true Italian tradition. Nothing to take away from all the others who, I don't doubt, their commitment and their culinary qualities. Beautiful, welcoming place, suitable for everyone and for every occasion, very kind and helpful staff. We ate very well! Abundant and delicious dishes, served with class and simplicity in the details. Italian chef. There's no need to say anything else. Super satisfied!(⁠｡⁠♡⁠‿⁠♡⁠｡⁠) I will definitely return, and I recommend it to anyone who truly loves real Italian cuisine!

Nice place. Nice food . Perfect for those with good appetites. I had calamari starter and lamb cutlets for main. Both Nice but too much on the plate for me. A bit less and a few quid off the cost would have been better for me.

Lovely setting. Easy to find and parking to the side road. Very tastefully renovated with some of the bank features remaining including the bank safe conversion into a private dining area. Nice quiet night when I visited which suited me well ( Tuesday evening) We were sat in the side room which is my only negative comment to be fair. It feels a little claustrophic as there is no natural light but there is a lovely blossom tree in the centre of the room. There are booths to the back of the restaurant and seating upstairs, which looks welcoming. Very attentive waiter service and we were not rushed at all. Very pleasant. Nothing too much trouble. The starter ( asparagus with ham) and the main was hot, very tasty and beautifully decorated. The lasagna is always my go to in a new Italian eatery and it didn't disappoint. Had a couple of cheeky mocktails . Bora bora photo attached. We moved from our table later in the evening and sat in the bar area which was very welcoming, Bright and lovely decorated. The prices are reasonable for a treat mid week meal out Well worth another visit.

Absolutely amazing this place , services was great but the food was out of this world. Definitely fine dining. The steak was beautiful it was like cutting through butter, my partner ordered the monk fish . Presentation was outstanding but most of all it tasted amazing. This is now our favourite place .

We really enjoyed our experience last night, the food was excellent, staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant was very clean and smart looking. The toilets were the cleanest of any restaurant we've been to.

Tried it out for the first time this Friday night and cannot fault. Decor and atmosphere was beautiful, and food and service was great. Was checked up on several times and food and drink both came quickly. Want to give a special commendation to young blonde lad with the glasses who served us most the night who gave amazing and swift service. There was a table next to us who we noted to be being quite rude to staff and he dealt with it amazingly and still made our whole experience really lovely!

Unfortunately the pork fillet in peppercorn sauce was extremely peppery. Everyone at the table tried the dish and agreed it was far too overpowering and unpleasant. On explaining this to staff, we were told we could have a replacement dish. There was poor communication and customer management. We were then charged full price for a replacement dish and this was not explained fully to ourselves. On questioning this, apparently there was no management to deal with our complaint and the chef came to visit the table. In a short manner, the chef explained that’s how he makes the peppercorn sauce and was fine, we would then be charged the final bill. I offered to pay half of the replacement dish and he refused. This was a disappointing end to a good night, and due to poor customer service will not be returning.

Gave 5 star for food, service and atmosphere because the place deserves it but lost a star because we've been twice and both times was told we had no booking because they'd got our name wrong. My wife scrolled through her call history to show she had phoned. Took the edge off the evening even though they found us a table both times. Don't let this put you off going as it's well worth going- just make sure they have your name right. Mussels are to die for.

Food was ok but the place is expensive

Hi Guys First meal at the Nabucco restaurant in Howfen. Enclosed pic Fillet Steak with Blue cheese sauce. Pleasant atmosphere with attentive staff complete with nicely cooked meals. A little sparse with the veg! Reasonably priced. Would I return again? YES. Thanks for a great evening.

We were recommended to visit the restaurant by friends but were very disappointed.Firstly we were sat near the front door which on every occasion someone entered we felt a huge draft . My wife ended up wearing her coat while dining . The atmosphere where we were sitting was very poor and felt we did not have the same experience as others upstairs and in booths . My wife was facing a wall all evening with spilled red wine on the wall next to her .In our opinion the restaurant was overbooked ! Our starters were described as lavish but my pate was served with two small pieces of bread , two dollops of pate on orange rings and some glacé fruit ? The fillet Rossini was cooked well but this was spoiled by the burned croute and freezing cold Demi glace sauce which ruined the dish .(No steak knifes provided )The side vegetables were very basic including baby carrots and potato halves nothing special for a £100+ meal . The beers and wines are overpriced for what turned out to be an average venue . The men’s toilet seats could do with a good clean particularly the rear . Sorry far better value for money restaurants in the area .

Glad I did as it was incredible, 3 of us had the rigatoni piccanti and it was delicious, I’d definitely come back just to have this dish again. The service was also fabulous on our visit contrary to some of the reviews I’ve read. The building and decor is so beautiful, overall a really nice italian will 100% go back.

First impressions were lovely, seated and served straight away however, had a Christmas special menu, Soup was horrendous, bland, 1 ingredient, informed staff who didn't offer me a alternative, main was lovely (spuds were frozen) dessert came, however my partner was left for 20 minutes before hers arrived, I had to prompt them beforehand. Very unhappy, when it came to paying the bill, he basically said "ah well" and said this happens at a busy period baring in my there were 10 people in the restaurant. Will not be returning, got gifted this and I am very happy I didn't pay from my own pocket! 100% not returning!

Ordered a hot chocolate which came cold and had to be sent back, ordered Turkey for main which was okay but there was a lump of gristle in it, the gravy was congealed and the veg was both cold and a little overly eldente for my taste. Desert was a very well presented Creme Brulè which was smooth and presented with a lump of cinder toffee and had a subtle note of coffee. As for the staff the older gentleman was fantastic, handled queries and issues like a consumate professional. Wheelchair accessible, they haveba ramp that can be deployed as required buy I would advise to either prebook or have someone with you that can ask for this as I didn't notice an accessible bell.

Never had such poor service, ordered house red wine, served Shiraz,£3 more expensive, ordered childs meal, told no haven't got any, ordered afillet Rossini,to be served a fillet nabucco. Told to try it,he, the waiter,had pressed the wrong button.told him we don't like avocado. He ignored me and didn't change the steak.asked for cheese board for dessert, told no, they had none.ordered ice cream for grandchildren, vanilla, chocolate came,sent it back, to receive a big sigh then told it had been a long week and it was December! This was at 1.30 Sunday. Afternoon not evening.worst bit was paying for food we didn't enjoy.will never return.also paying more than we ordered.tried ringing restaurant several times after to speak to the manager, but to no avail. Don't waste your hard earned money going to this place

Fabulous food and setting though service could do with a tweak eg, stating what's on the specials board or providing a clipboard with the specials printed on it. Apart from that well worth a visit and one I will be visiting again.

booked a table here as the menu and interior looked really lovely. My husband and i went on 12th November was shown to our table by a member of staff who then just left us he didn't offer to tell us what was on the special board or even ask if we wanted a drink whilst we were choosing our food. We had to ask a waitress if we could order drinks. The waiter came to take our orders and my husband ordered steak but it didn't state if this came with chips etc, so he asked the waiter just said i dunno?? the starters came and they were lovely but after this it all went downhill. We waited quite ages for our main course and when it finally did arrive my plate was cold and so was the food. I ordered chicken stuffed with ham and cheese but what was brought out was a piece of chicken cut into quarters and the ham place on the side of the plate and no asparagus or panchetta which it was supposed to have on, also didn't get any side dishes that were supposed to arrive. I complained to the waiter and said my food was cold and we have no vegatables or chips. He actually said what do you want me to do? you can leave the food if you like? I have never been spoken to in a restaurant before in this manner. He was very rude. I told him i'd like to eat it but could it be warm. he just took my plate then returned 5 mins later (obviously when the microwave had warmed it up) the side orders still hadn't arrived but then they brought them out 15 minutes later and just dumped them on the table. we asked for the bill and the waiter smiled and said i've knocked of the drink you had as if that was going to make up for a shocking night. His excuse was they were very busy. Maybe so but the whole meal that you had ordered should be presented all together not you side dishes after you have almost ate the main. Will never return to this restaurant. terrible experience terrible staff. had to give 1 star to be able to post but they didnt deserve that awful.

Very good quality food at a reasonable price. We both had seafood starters and mains with two drinks and a bottle of wine and couldn't fault any of it. We will definitely return.

First time visiting as local. Food was ok but nothing special, just a run of the mill Italian.Won't be visiting again.

So disappointed. The service left a lot to be desired, bottle of wine just plonked on the table not even opened or served. Starters was ok calamari but nothing special, spicy meatballs very gristly. Mains was not great 👎said it was fillet steak but too tough to chew which spoilt rest of meal. Ordered an Irish coffee for desert & was still waiting over 40 minutes later. Decided to leave with out coffee & tried to speak to manager & explain we had been here for over 3 hours ( 5.30 table) who abruptly dismissed us downstairs to be dealt with. Will never bother again as this was the 2nd chance for this restaurant & sadly was not worth it! This restaurant will be closed soon if thats how they treat locals out for a special occasion 😔

First time I've had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant, and it was a pleasure. I'm sure if your looking to eat here you'll already have looked at the decor etc. Very nice I'd say. Anyway the meal we had was for a table of 6. Having breads with oils, garlic bread and olives as the pre start was very nice and plentyfull. Then starters consisting of pate, asparagus, camenbert and caprese tricolore all being very generous portions and no complaints from any one. Then mains that were also generous portions but still very tasty included lamb cutlets,beef stroganoff (on the specials board), and me personally had the porchetta dish😋. All the while not being rushed at anytime. And to finish 5 out of 6 went for desert's that also were spot on. All this with 4 bottles of wine, several pints, a few cocktails worked out about £60 a head. For me and friends it was worth every penny and will be back sooner rather than later. Also big up to the staff and chef's who are extra friendly.

We've dined in fine dining restaurants around the world and the food here was amongst the best. Simply outstanding!
