Ordered a takeaway. After living in Edinburgh/Falkirk for 10 years this is the best chipper I have had. We got a chip steak supper and a pizza to share. Chips were AMAZING. Chip steak good, batter was tasty. Pizza was also 10/10. Nothing greasy at all. Will definitely be back!

Absolutely amazing food and service, myself and my wife were recommended this place by friends, we live 30 minutes away - well worth the journey ! We sat in the restaurant, both had the fish tea, one of the best fish and chips we have ever had ! The staff were all super friendly and helpful and very attentive ! The whole place was absolutely spotless . All the food was cooked from fresh when ordered. Cannot wait to return and cannot recommend the place enough. We finished the meal with a delicious ice cream which was amazing also.

Popped in for a fish tea on Saturday night. It was superb. Freshly cooked fish, roasting hot chips, piping hot tea and bread and butter all served by very attentive staff on a busy day.

Been going to illarios for a number of years and have had no issues. Staff always pleasant and efficient. Until today the customer service of one particular person was not very professional. The way they spoke to the customers and with attitude and rudeness. I am sure peope will think twice before returning.

This is by far the best Chippy I've been to in donkey's years. Fantastic food, great banter from the owner and staff and the place is absolutely spotless. Super-impressed and will be making it my go-to in the future.

This place deserves a review because it’s friendly and provides good food at decent prices. Nothing fancy we had a really enjoyable pie and chips and pizza. The staff were very chatty and friendly and the restaurant is nicely done out. Can’t comment on any other places to eat in Kincardine but this is certainly recommended for a quick, no-frills but filling meal.

£11 for a fish supper! Must be one of the most expensive in Scotland. One fish a quarter of which was empty batter. I've been coming here for over 30 years. No more, I don't know how ordinary people can afford it.

I went with a group of Italian friends and we couldn't have had a better welcome from Ilario and his family. The fish and chips were just as good as I remembered them to be. The Italians said that the pizza was as authentic as you could possibly get. We all enjoyed the meal in a very friendly atmosphere and found it great value for money too. I would certainly recommend going their for take away or to sit in.

Suppose to be 2 fish Not 1 fish and a tail all batter no fish £11 what a joke ridiculous for the price hardly any chips staff ignorant won't be back you should ware a mask coz you're just robbing people

Went with family for a sit-in tea as we always enjoy the fish tea with bread & butter and a pot of tea. There were no tables so we ordered to take-away, luckily a table become available and we were able to sit in. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Food was it's usual high standard and served freshly made and hot. Highly recommended.

Amazing pizza. Light base and flavoursome marinara. Best Fish Supper in Scotland. Excellent service and the patter’s usually no bad :-)

In the area & popped in for a chippy tea. The restaurant appeared very inviting from the outside! I ordered a Scampi & Chip supper to eat in at £10, which was good value for money including a slice of bread & butter and a drink of your choice. Food arrived quickly, hot and well presented. I was very surprised by the huge portion, but no complaints. Although not wholetail, the scampi was nice and not overcooked which is easily done. The chips were also tasty and perfect on a crisp, cold day. The restaurant itself is spotless & staff were attentive. Overall, great service! Thanks 👍

Stopped for fish and chips following rave reviews from friends. Two fish suppers ordered, both portions were pretty mean, a handful of chips, smallish fish padded out with lumps of batter hanging off them, fish wasn't fresh and actually my partner remarked it looked like a frozen fish fillet you'd find in a supermarket! Not cheap either. Won't be returning.

Went here on the recommendation from a friend that the food was great. Ordered fish and chips, the fish was already cooked and they were waiting on chips. The batter was nice and crispy however the fish hadn't been fully coated in batter and one long edge of it was unbattered and the fish was very dry and discoloured, I can only think this is due to it being exposed to the frying oil without batter. I also had what I can only describe as 2 small fins on the fish which put me off straight away. The chips were ok, nothing great and not a decent portion. Sorry I expected more, maybe I was unlucky.

If you're looking for crispy batter around your fish, then this is the place to go. Everything cooked from fresh, and it shows. If you're getting pizza, then you won't be disappointed with the authentic pizza base topped with the finest ingredients. The owner regularly cooks as well, and the banter is free of charge. If you're not keen on chips, get a potatoe fritter and smother it in brown sauce.

Popped into Ilario's for the first time in years on my way home after a long day. I had happy memories of this place so was looking forward to something nice. I just fancied something to nibble so ordered a portion of scampi and a single battered hamburger. The scampi was barely cooked, soggy and tasteless - certain;ly NOT wholetail scampi. The burgers were small, greasy and a mushy consistency - probably the worst battered burger I've ever had. On top of this the prices weren't cheap for what was provided.

Wow, loving the quality and quantity of food delivered. Have ordered fish, special, fish, burgers and steak pie and we’ve never been disappointed. Thanks from Airth
