John, is back from holiday. We missed his friendly face and attention to detail. I am deaf? He always makes sure I have a quiet table. I have a guest house in town. I keep a Zizzi’s menu. Try and send guests. As I feel comfortable knowing they will have good food and value for money. I always hope John. Is working. Wage rise or acknowledgement of his service to Zizzi’s. We celebrated my friend’s 40th at Zizi’s this evening in St Andrews and honestly it was amazing from start to finish. Both our waiters were soooooooooooooo incredible! They were so smiley, so kind, so helpful, so lovely..just brilliant! I hope they are appreciated because you have amazing staff! Thank you so much for such a fantastic and memorable evening! Oh and the prawn scewers were Amazing!! Thank you thank you xx

We visited on a whim during a nice New Year’s Day stroll through St. Andrews. We’ve enjoyed zizzi’s before (in Inverness and Glasgow) so we were excited to give this one a go. In a nutshell to anyone reading this I’d give this Zizzi’s a miss due to the incredibly disappointing service. There was one table occupied in the whole restaurant yet we had to wait five minutes to be greeted and seated. We ended up having to provide ourselves with menus and get halfway taken to a table. There wasn’t difficulty finding a table but for some reason she disappeared as we were grabbing our seats no offer of drinks till five minutes later. She seemed to lack interest - which is fair, we thought that perhaps she drew the short straw and had to work New Year’s Day. However, if that were the case, as much as we can understand the bitterness, we as the customers shouldn’t have had to take the brunt of it. We had a rustica pizza - which was lovely as usual. The lasagne however was as disappointing as the service. Small, somewhat standard lasagne for a ridiculous price. A young man took us our pizza and lasagne - he was the only saving grace of the service. He made eye contact, he was friendly, happily got us everything we asked for as extras - testament to the restaurant! The original lass took us our fries and for some reason threw/slammed the plate on the table. We then asked another lass working (who seemed like she might have been in charge) after finally getting her attention for some more fries which she seemed super stressed (at this point there was now 4 tables in the whole restaurant and the young man was the only one seen to be actually working so unsure why she seemed so stressed). She also walked briskly past our table and slammed the plate down. We were taken aback by the treatment and even made a joke that they’re rushed of their feet with four tables so it makes total sense 🙄 Luckily the young lad ended our visit with a typical waiters farewell of thanks and have a good night. Unfortunately we passed the two lasses at the bar as we were leaving, now I’m not sure why did, but I said Thank you and bye as I walked past them and not one of them looked up and said anything. Honestly quite shocked with the incredibly poor service. Even if you’re bummed to be working on a public holiday you can still provide decent service. Borderline hostile and we’re not sure why. Thanks to the young lad. You’re the seemingly only professional there and excellent at your job!

I had my sons 5th birthday lunch here with 3 of his friends and they all loved the food! The staff were amazing, hey took our cake and brought it out to us singing happy birthday, it was lovely 😍 thank you Zizzi!! X

Average food at best… anyone looking for an Italian restaurant should definitely give this place a miss… It’s pretty nice inside and with an open kitchen and massive gas fired pizza oven. Team working on our visit lacked interest (although polite) with no check back even when super quiet…

The food was OK but I won't say it worth because it is just average Italian food, and there are many Italian restaurants with better food. You can tell this by how empty the restaurant is all the time. The service is extremely bad, the waiters are rude and disrespectful.

I recently had a disappointing experience at Zizi. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a rude host who seemed uninterested in seating my party on a Sunday. The appetizers took forever to arrive, and when they finally did, they looked like they had been tampered with. The wait for our entrees was excessively long, and our server did not check on us once. To make matters worse, guests who arrived after us were served before us, seeming as we were being purposely ignored. The wait staff were consistently rude throughout our visit. Overall, it was a very unpleasant dining experience, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Food was cooked to perfection and served with incredible presentation. Most importantly, service was impeccable, quick and friendly. Would highly recommend for any visit to St Andrews.

Birthday night out for a meal and the experience couldn't have been better. Greets with a smile, and the smiles continued throughout with our server Chinenye. Food was excellent, drinks delicious. We had the Wild Garlic & pesto bombe as start but the star of the show was the King Prawn Picante. Would recommend 👍

Really lovely atmosphere. We ordered some vegetarian pasta (ve lentil ragu) and 1 rainbow lasagne. Highly recommended and so authentic! Absolutely delicious. Served by ogechi who was super sweet :)

I have been there twice in the previous week and it was great. The pastas (prosciutto carbonara) and pizza (rustica wagyu) are very tasty, also great starters (spiedidi).

We booked table for 5 and had to wait for table but great evening and lovely service Thanks Ogechi for wonderful evening Wel recommended Cant wait to return

We booked a table for 10 people and Zizzi did not disappoint. We were told our Tesco vouchers could only be used for a table of 6 but because we had 4 kids they allowed. The food was incredible, everyone loved their food, I had wagyu meatballs and they were so good. The cheesecake was incredible and I thoroughly enjoyed my wine. The servers were so attentive, I thought they were brilliant with the children and adults. Would highly recommend this place.

It took long time but the food is also not good

It is supposed to close at 10pm, arrived at 9pm and was told the kitchen was closing down for the night and that they had some big tables early on in the evening. Huh? Do better Zizzis!

I’ve had some mixed Zizzi experiences in the past but this one was fabulous. Food was unreal. Excellent pizzas and calamari. . Would certainly go back. Highly recommend!

Few minutes ago I have been there Food was ok but time to pay bill not.Why worker ( black skin man) not ask me about tap just charge alone 7.90£ It is not fair.

Have to confess we went because we had Tesco vouchers, but what a fab meal! Delicious, best Zizzi meal we’ve had, our server was so lovely (geology student, sorry we didn’t get your name!), enjoyed every bite.

Turned Down from having a table because it was fully booked which wasn’t the case when I arrived. There was hardly anyone. Even waited for 40 minutes yet nobody arrived and I wasn’t allowed to sit.

We enjoyed our time there. The only problem was the greeter seemed to not want to be at work that day. However, everyone else was pleasant and the food was amazing.

First time trying a different Italian in St Andrews. It’s late for lunch so restaurant is not busy. Pasta was nice, real Al dente! Seems to be a good place for family with young kids as place is spacious and bright. There is also outdoor seating.

Absolutely ridiculous attitude from servers. There were 5 of us in our party, arrived and asked to be seated to be told "we're busy, there's 29 people in the restaurant. If there were 4 of you, we could have seated you". Working in a restaurant myself covering easily between 30-200 in an hour (depending on if a wedding was on or not) saying that a restaurant with only 29 people and 6/7 empty tables (probably more) is absolutely ridiculous and laughable. Won't be back and time soon

Ogechi was polite, attentive, friendly and welcoming. Everything was nice apart from the ladies toilets which was the only let down because the toilets were not clean.

I’ve never been to a Zizzi before and this was an amazing dining experience. The staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Instead of waiting for me to tell them I have a dairy allergy, the server asked us as he was seating us. The menu has a bigger selection of vegan options than other Italian restaurants I’ve been to. The rainbow lasagna was delicious and the vegan cake was hands down the best vegan cake I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and I would give them 5 stars all round. I was so impressed I sent a message to head office telling them how brilliant this dining experience was.

Never tried before, but definitely will go back to Zizzi, nice stylish atmosphere, good selection of food. I chose the Wagyu Meatball Arrabbiata today and it was lovely. Highly recommend this place.

We stumbled upon the recently renovated Zizzi on reopening day. Bless them, they were having a few issues with workmen and the kitchen. My first choice meal was not available. We waited a fair time but not excessively. We were practically the only diners. The meals were excellent and the staff were so attentive. They didn’t charge us anything by way of an apology. We would have been happy to pay. I cannot fault the staff. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely meal at Zizzi St Andrews to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Food was excellent and staff very personable and attentive. In particular Mateusz was very helpful and very attentive to ensure our Anniversary meal was enjoyed. Excellent meal and service. Would certainly return.

The food was fine, but our experience was really tarnished by the chef’s treatment of the service staff. The open kitchen meant we heard everything - the waitress (who was lovely, very attentive) got screamed at for clearing our table without simultaneously carrying out food for other tables... It was really unfortunate to see how they treat the service staff here. It definitely affected our experience and I don’t think we'd come here again after hearing how the chefs speak to the waitresses.

Vast menu, so plenty of options. Food was well-prepared, tasty and came in reasonable time. Large portions of main dishes. I found the linguine sauce so slippy it made it tricky to eat with fork-only - I wasn't offered or brought a spoon to eat it with. Staff friendly and efficient, but not many on at lunchtime.

Good pizzas but overpriced, my pizza was small but waiter gave us another free pizza 😁😁, lack of windows means it's a bit dull inside

Significantly better than the chain restaurants we have back in the United States. I will have to go to more of these in the future. Italian food is always a delight, being so rich and indulgently creamy. Here, I ordered a mushroom dish that was only a starter but was so filling that I couldn't order anything else. The soft bread soaked with cheese and a viscous mushroom sauce revitalise my spirit on a cold and dreary Scottish day. This place did feel a little more anonymous and indistinctive compared to the cosy and rustic restaurants and cafes where I have spent so much time in this country, places where the history and the culture of the establishment feel so warmly exuberant and idiosyncratic. But such a lack is to be expected from a chain restaurant, and again, this one is better than most chain restaurants, with richly sumptuous food and a bit of artistic flair. I recommend it, especially if you have a large party, as there is an abundance of space.

Wasn’t sure about booking with a chain restaurant but took a chance and we came out very happy. Manager was like a wee buzz bomb, serving, making sure everyone was being attended to; generally making sure everything was running smoothly. Food excellent. My wife had lasagne which looked a bit small but she was filled up by the time she had eaten it. I had a rustic pizza which was also very good. Desserts, delicious. Choc melt: the waiter apologised because the melt had kind of collapsed under the weight of ice cream. I’m more into taste than appearance and this just hit the spot. Overall a very good restaurant, good food, efficient management.

Grand place good food and company.

Saturday lunch and the place is dead but I'm not surprised with the prices. Lasagne being £16. I had a very bland pizza and chips. My partner enjoyed the expensive lasagne. I asked for sauce which they then charged £1 on the bill. 🫣 Seriously. When you make your pizzas so tasteless you should at least hand out free sauce 🤣 wonder how much salt was. Glad I never asked for it.

I would like to thank the manager for being so helpful with a voucher we had via Red Letter Day that was proving difficult to locate the code on. He took so much time to sort it out for us and that was before we had actually ordered anything. All staff were very helpful, food was good and an enjoyable experience.

Lovely service from every member of staff who we interacted with. Delicious food as ever

First, they got the simplest order wrong. Second, the manager said the pizza was "fresh out the oven." No, it wasn't. More like three hours out the oven. Stale, bland, cold pizza. Scandalously overpriced. I could have got the same thing at Domino's for less. I'll give it another go, the decor and seating looked nice, and maybe they're better as an eat-in place, but surprisingly bad.

Service so slow despite there being very few people in the restaurant. Waitresses very pleasant and apologised for the delay. Food was poor the place is in need of a freshen up , upholstery on seating stained and torn and overall lacking in atmosphere. Previous experience of this franchise was positive but certainly won’t visit St Andrews again .

Zizzis was excellent there deal on a Saturday of 3 courses for £24 was great value and really good food.I highly recommend and will definitely eat there again

A group of 18 of us went to Dinner and the service was great. The Menu is limited but fine and my risotto was lovely. Very noisy in there but makes for a great ambience.

Amongst the Italian chains, one of the better experiences. Food was enjoyed by all, good portions, drink options good. Relatively expensive dishes by comparison of some venues, so for a chain - it can add up quickly. Staff were friendly and attentive. I tend to tip well - however do not appreciate in any venue, auto adding a service charge which is the case here, then missed this when paying the bill for others to tip more at the table. Any restaurant auto adding this is marks down for me and would tend to avoid.

Had to send food back. Couldn't cut the chicken and calamari was rubbery. Signs of frozen food zapped in a microwave. Pity.

Food very good, we enjoyed massive garlic bread starters and creamy chicken pasta mains. It was busy but service was good and very friendly. Major down side with this place is the acoustics, it’s very noisy and you can hear conversations from right across the room while not being able to hear people at your own table!

We come here all the time because my lovely wife is lactose intolerant, but she very much enjoys a Zizzi vegan pizza. I like pasta dishes, so it's all good 👍
