Artisan Portobello in Kensington and Chelsea

Stumbled very hungrily upon this restaurant while walking along Portobello Market. It was pretty empty and we were seated in the back where it is painted like an outdoor Italian cafe complete with overhanging trees. Our red wine and prosecco were delicious. We shared a pizza, which was good, but the garlic sauteed broccoli was unbelievably delicious.

I booked for a special occasion with a visiting friend on a Thursday at 7:30 pm. When we got there the lights inside were on but the door was closed. We rang their telephone and we could hear from outside their phone ringing but no one was picking up. Tired of waiting, we left. What an unprofessional service.

Average food, starters better than mains. Food was warm not hot, the veal chop was overcooked and fatty and the service was slow and unpolished (waiter dropped drink on the floor and soaked my friend!) Toilets need repairing as well. Toilet seat was on the floor in the ladies!

Eravamo a visitare questa zona e per fortuna abbiamo trovato questo locale per la cena. Abbiamo preso l pizza.... e devo dire che era veramente buona come solo in Italia si trova! Il locale è accogliente e carino. Personale gentile e simpatico. Consiglio di andarci.

En pleno Portobello ,descubrimos este pequeño restaurante de cocina italiana.Las pizzas buenísimas cocinadas al horno de leña, la masa al punto, ingredientes naturales de primera calidad. Servicio y amabilidad excelentes, precio correcto teniendo en cuenta que Londres es caro. Local tranquilo.Sin duda muy recomendable en la visita a Notting Hill -Portobello.

Girovagando per il mercato di Portobello Road verso l'ora di pranzo abbiamo scelto di mangiare una pizza al ristorante Artisan. Le pizze erano le tradizionali pizze al piatto di buona fattura e con ingredienti di buona qualità. Il locale è carino, con forno e pizzaiolo a vista. Personale gentile e cordiale. Ordine e pulizia discreti.

Added an extra vat tax plus an extra service charge on the bill, like we wouldn't notice. Brought a 30 pound dinner to fourty pounds. Didnt bother arguing, just decided to write a review. Wanted to like this place.

Great selection of Pizzas and pastas. Seafood linguine is divine and make sure you the Sausage and spinach pizza. Good wine selection, including Moscato Wine which not many restaurants have. Its not cheap but definitely good. Very friendly staff and great feel in the restaurant. Highly recommend Artisan if you need your Italian fix.

We are 3 delicious dishes. The sea bass with the greens were superb. The sea food linguini plate was very good and the salt was very tasty with special aroma. A real Italian cuisine and a pleasant small place.

Every week since we moved(me & my girlfriend) in London we go out for dinner.We love Italian food(we are Italian).We tried many Italian restaurants but no one of them impressed us as Artisan did.Good wines selection, modern and very interesting menu.The risotto was superb, the beef &bone marrow was delicious.My girlfriend tried the pepperoni pizza, it was tasty 😋 !The service was attentive and helpful.Very nice tiramisu.Love the food, the service and the location.

We loved basically everything : the food, the drinks and the friendly service. i went for their special ; hand cut tagliolini, which comes black because they add squid ink, it tasted so fresh with the tuna tar2 on top. our waitress recomended us to mix the tar tar with the hot pasta so the tuna will be half cooked. and yum!! my date had diavola pizza, it was massive! the dough was thin and yummy, beautifully presented. We ended the night with desserts ; panacota with mix berry, really beautiful! and it tasted as beautiful as it looked!, then the other one was the pistachio fondant, terrific! the table was a bit small, especially because they serve such a massive pizza, but our lovely waitress managed to offer us to connect the next table, so it wasnt a problem at all. oh! one more thing, eventhough the bar was small, they offer amazing selection of house cocktails. we had espresso martini and i dont really remember how the other one called, it was bronx something, but it was delicious!! so zesty, fresh and creamy, just how i like it. thanks Artisan!

New restaurant for us so was looking forward to dining there. Not disappointed. Service delightful, efficient and very friendly. We were asked if we had any special dietary requirements. I had a delicious starter salad followed by special for the day - beautifully cooked lamb with garlic mash. My friend chose steak tartare which he said was very good, followed by spaghetti vongoles. Rather disappointed with that course unfortunately as he said the clams tasted a little strange but it didn’t spoil the evening, or the day after! Wine list good and ambience in general was very pleasant. Very small tables though which made it tricky to negotiate your way around it without causing an accident! I would definitely return. Lugar acogedor. Planta calle pequeña pero muy amigable. Buen servicio. Carta típica de restaurante italiano pero con propuestas diferentes a las del típico rest italiano para turistas. Los platos muy bien presentados. Muy bien cocinados y cantidad correcta. Precios medio altos. Se paga la ubicación. Notting Hill. Recomendable para parejas o grupos pequeños.

Super nice atmosphere in this cosy Italian restaurant in Portobello Road. As an Italian, I can say that I have never tried any Italian food in London that was delicious as it was in this little gem venue. I have just to try it and you will feel in love with it. I will 100% became a regular in this amazing place because it reminds me of my country. The service was on spot!!! Highly recommended!!!

Second visit here. came with high expectation because last visit was incredible. And artisan didnt disappoint me! They put some new items on the menu. So i got to try the home made salmon ravioli, it wasn't a big portion, but surprisingly, when i had my last piece of the ravioli, i was already so full! The dressing is very pleasant and fresh. Definitely worth a try! This time i tried also the cocktails. they did a very nice new york sour. well balanced and creamy just how i like it! And as always, professional yet smiley service. Just felt at home. Last but not least, dont miss their pistachio fondant , we waited around 12 mins for it to come (well our waitress did mention as it is home made so it would take 10 mins in the oven), but definitely worth the wait! In my opinion, one of the best things of having a open kitchen in a restaurant it's to see the passion and the care of the person who is preparing your food. Yesterday, we arrived at the Artisan restaurant around 10.15 pm, probably the last customers of the day, and unfortunately regardless the care and the attention of the waiters, my all attention has been taken away from the anger of the guy who supposed to make our pizza. He was visibly upset that he had to prepare this last order and for the all-time, he complained about his place work, using bad language and throwing things around in the kitchen. The guy was Italian, so I could understand every single word he was saying to himself. I believe everyone at some point would get a bad day at work, however as a customer; I could not relax or focus on the people next to me. I was entirely distracted by this lousy energy and uncomfortable the all-time having to hear this kind of language while trying to enjoy my night. Also, the topping on our pizza was very poor for the price we had to pay. Last but not least, we have been asked to leave the restaurant at 11.25 pm, and they turned off the light, even though the opening time says that the restaurant close at 11.45 pm. A bit of a shame and disappointment from a restaurant that supposed to be "the best restaurant in London".

Where do I start?! The waitress was absolutely excellent in giving us recommendations based on our preferences. And then the food came! We didn’t wait too long which was surprising as there was 5 of us and we all got our mains at the same time so no-one felt left out :) the food was delicious and every single one of us left a very happy customer and would highly recommend it. 10 out of 5! You are spoilt for choice with this menu. Deffo the best Italian i have had in London....maybe in the world so far ...and I've been to Italy 3 times. The ravioli is amazing! It's such a romantic little place with an indoor tree and twinkling lights and candles dotted all over the resteraunt. I loved it. Will deffinatly be visiting again soon
