Absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk in it’s a lovely vibe. Staff dressed to the nines amazing music and an all round great atmosphere. All the staff were very accommodating, didn’t get her name but the lady on the bar with blonde hair and lovely tattoos was a great hostess. The food was gorgeous. Seasoned beautifully and full of flavour. We will be back.

We previously ate here last October and it was perfect food was beautiful and the staff were so attentive the gentleman server went above and beyond and was brilliant however the same could not be said for today. We arrived through the door downstairs with no one to greet you so we waited a good 10 minutes wondering if we just sit down anywhere when we finally saw a member of staff he simply said ‘upstairs’ no greeting or directions just ‘upstairs’. When we’d got to the second floor there again was no one to seat you the waitress didn’t even acknowledge we had walked in so we again were unsure if to sit down or not but saw a lot of others sat so we proceeded to the nearest table where the waitress finally came over and chucked menus on the table, again no greeting or pleasantries exchanged, I managed to ask if where we was sat was okay before she’d left again which was annoying as we clearly needed a high chair for our infant daughter which she didn’t even acknowledged to either say ‘would you like a high chair or if you need a high chair they’re located X’ I had to send my partner searching for one. She took our order and we wasn’t waiting too long for our drinks but the food seemed to take ages. The food was nothing to write home about it wasn’t the same level that we experienced last time and for the prices you pay you expect a lot more I felt like the food today was the same level you’d expect to get from a Witherspoon's. The service we received overall was really poor, the waitress even booted the high chair on her way past to another table and she didn’t even apologise. Really disappointed with our visit to Capri at the container this time, we won’t be returning.

Five of us here on a beautiful summer evening. We sat outside, which was delightful. The staff were really pleasant, the food was quite excellent. The service was really terrible, however. They took our drinks order immediately after we sat down at which time we ordered garlic bread for the table to share. They had lychee juice on the menu, which two of the children ordered. Not available. After being at the table for 25 mins. I went inside and asked if someone could take our food order. As they took the order we reminded them that my wife’s glass of wine had not arrived. We order some starters to share and, when these arrived, the waiter told us he had forgotten our garlic bread as he had ‘been distracted’. Main courses arrived 65 mins. after we sat down, which was simply too long - they seemed to be concentrating on the steady stream of Deliveroo/Just Eat riders. Won’t be rushing back.

Really great customer service. On the night my partner and I ate here, we weren't informed that it was cash only when we made our order as there was a fault on the card machies. When it came time to pay the bill we were told that they could only accept cash. I was ready to go home, leaving my partner as collateral :) to get the cash, but the Manager was wonderful. She told us that as we had not been told before ordering, she felt the service provided to us was not adequate but she was sure the food was great and that we would be back in the future so told us the meal was on the house. We told her again it would not be a problem to get the cash, but she was so sure that the quality of the food spoke for itself and that we would be back that she insisted. I thought this went above and beyond and we are absolutely going back because indeed the food was pretty amazing!!

We were going to the Hydro for a gig so went looking for somewhere for dinner. Everywhere was really busy, but we got their last table. We both got burgers and fries, the food was excellent. Fresh, hot, brilliant flavours. Had a few drinks too, the wine was really nice. Staff were lovely, it was very busy but they managed it well.

If you’re looking through previous reviews and think, ah we’ll give it a go… don’t! 😂 up there with the worst meal I’ve had in my life 😂

So unbelievably sad to see the end of this fine establishment! I have been a customer since 1980. Simply wonderful! Mario's front-of-house skills coupled with Gianni's cooking (and drumming) expertise meant a night here was always a special occasion. In fact, although it could be argued that a restaurant should be judged primarily on its culinary qualities, it was the combination of service, food, ambience and bon homie that made Mario & Gianni's stand out. Birthday meals, romantic meals and company meals - all were hosted here with aplomb! A great loss to Hazel Grove. Footnote: I went to visit Gianni at the hospice when the cruellest disease of them all was taking him. With characteristic joviality, he said he was looking forward to meeting David Bowie and Elvis. 😊

Visited this restaurant for the the first time on Friday night with friends. The food and service were amazing, really nice restaurant with a nice family feel to it. The garlic bread starters were a good size, with a nice thin and crispy base and the picante option had a great kick to it. We all ordered different main courses (pasta, veal and salmon) and deserts - all of them looked and tasted incredible. Plenty of options on the menu to cater for all tastes. Highly recommenced, we will definitely be back.

nice place, friendly and coffee and pastries very nice. pleasant staff and clean at the time of the visit. smokers can sit outside toilets - look like zillion years old and well past their sell by date - why have they not been updated?

This has to be the best value quality lunch in Islington. £15 for focaccia, a delicious plate of pasta and a glass of wine is a really affordable weekday treat. I ate outside overlooking Islington Green with my dog who was given water and a treat. The veal and pork ragu was gorgeous. I will return again soon but may struggle to order anything other than I did today!
