We were only going to come here for hot drinks but changed our mind when we saw the very good range of panini, ciabatta, sandwiches etc. We had a chicken club and it was substantial, very tasty, and served with a good side salad. They also do a decent range of hot food which looks very tasty. This is certainly a cafe we will use again.

I visited caffe deli with my husband and grandson at about half past nine on a Sunday morning. As I do not like cooked breakfasts I asked the owner if he did cheese and tomato toasties. He said “Yes, but we’re doing breakfasts “, in an irritated voice. I don’t see what difference it makes to him whether they make a full English for a customer or a cheese toastie. It put me off a bit, I won’t go again.

Absolutely excellent friendly service, excellent value for money and super tasty food and presented well, would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back, I am in a wheelchair and I went with my Son, we sat outside, albeit was good weather, throws are provided and there is a canopy that runs along the side of the cafe to provide shelter /shade. A really nice relaxing atmosphere tucked away, something to be treasured.

Found this little gem of a place by accident while looking for a snack lunch. Tried another café further down the street and was put off by the officious attitude of the owner, a lady owner who has a very high opinion of herself. The food here was hot, tasty and served with a smile - the difference between the two places was chalk and cheese ! Spoke to the owner on the way out to congratulate him - very pleasant, down-to-earth chap. Definite visit when we're next in the area. First class

One of the first places we found, when we moved here 8 years ago. Only very small inside, though seating outside( used a lot by cyclists and dog owners) so service can suffer at peak periods. Kitchen, food prep area also very small, so i think Rico(owner) does remarkably well to produce such good food and coffee. We have always found Rico to be very friendly, though he does look rather "harrased" when they are very busy!

I give up. I’ve been going to the deli caffe every Saturday and Sunday morning for about six months to buy a coffee to take on my dog walks by the river. Every time I go in, usually as the first and only customer the owner looks at me likes he’s never seen in me in his life and makes me a black coffee to go, you can almost hear him sigh because it’s so much hassle. Every time I ask him for a little cold water in it because I don’t want to carry a scolding hot cup of coffee and he literally tuts. This morning I went in with my three year old for the usual, bought a little bottle of juice and a coffee and my daughter asked if she could count the three coins to give them to Ricco. He said “can you hurry up please I’m busy.” Who’s rude to a three year old who wants to give him money? This was in an empty cafe at 8.45am. This is a dying business in a booming village and it’s dying not because it’s too expensive or because the food isn’t great, it’s the best coffee for miles around. If you want to compete with some of the great, friendly businesses in Boston Spa you need to work hard and be nice to people. As I left Ricco said “see you later.” No Ricco, you won’t.

Boston Spa isn’t far from the motorway and the Caffe Deli makes a much more pleasant stop with a great variety of tasty options with an Italian twist. Our lunch time choices - a well filled club sandwich and a panini with pancetta, sun dried tomatoes and cheese were delicious, as was the coffee. And all at a very reasonable price.

It was awful I simply couldn’t eat it as leaving without eating mine one staff member with blonde hair was rude and the chef/owner was a disgrace he was beyond awful, I walked out of the restaurant crying as his attitude was something I never seen before and don’t want to see again. My wife and I found this place by accident a few years ago when we were looking for a place for lunch when travelling up the A1 from Leicestershire to Northumberland. Since then we've made a point of timing our journeys north so that we arrive in Boston Spa at lunch time so we can eat at this place. It's only a short diversion from the A1The food is great and extremely reasonably priced. It seems that there's always fresh fish available, and on our last visit my wife had Lemon Sole with salad, and I had Sea Bass with salad - wonderful!! One of my favourite meals here, however, is the Meatball and Mozzarela Panini with Sweet Chilli Sauce (also served with salad). There's never any problem with ordering a salad without peppers (I have an intolerance).I notice that some reviewers have commented on the proprietor's manner, and that this usually refers to moving tables. OK, so he is not the most smiling of persons, but I can fully understand why he might not want tables moved around. The dining area is very small and the tables carefully placed to maximise the space. Although there is plenty of room for the diners, there's not much spare room for the waiting staff to do their job of serving. As for the person who was rude enough to start moving tables without asking, and then complain when asked not do do so - you ought to be ashamed of yourself! I just wish that we had a place like this closer to home - we'd be eating there once a week!

We ordered a chicken tilkka kebab on a bed of salad and a lamb hotpot and tea for two.The kebab turned up after 4 mins, was obviously microwaved and I could have bought better from Iceland.10 minutes later the hotpot appeared, it consisted of lamb mince, diced carrot, fat riddled gravy and sliced tinned potatoes. Again this had been microwaved and had dangerous hot spots. As the main was poor I ordered a dessert thinking that it would be better - I was sadly mistaken! The lemon meringue pie looked like it was weeks old with solid meringue that the fork could not penetrate and the lemon base could only be likened to a congealed wall paper paste - I didn't feel comfortable even tasting it.We received the bill £15.05 and paid vowing never to return

I "tried" to visit this cafe today with my friends to have lunch. We walked through the door, there were a few people seated but it was fairly quiet. I asked for a table to seat eight of us - you'd have thought I'd asked for blood! The owner scowled at me and said he couldn't move any of the tables (he could have if he wanted to) he suggested four of us sat in the window area and four at the other side of the room! What a rude man, no customer service at all. Needless to say we walked straight back out of the place. I will make sure that all of my friends in the Boston Spa area know to avoid this place at all costs. He's one of those owners who moans about not getting enough trade, he doesn't deserve the business. We found a lovely place to eat two minutes away called Fifty Fifty, we spent £62 there. One of my friends called back into the Caffe Deli to say he could have had that amount in his till - he said he wasn't bothered! Says it all about this unpleasant man.

This is a little gem of a place, though somewhat eccentric. As it is a deli that has branched out into a small cafe, it is a little cramped but has good food and is ridiculously cheap. There are tables outside under cover in an alley that seems a little taste of the continent in deepest Yorkshire. When we last ate there was no licence but you can buy wine for a local shop and there was no corkage fee. I have heard that it is not child friendly - a bonus for me - and some say the owner is rude, but has always seemed just rather eccentric to me - again a bonus! Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but great for fun dining on a budget.

Wish I had read TripAdvisor before setting foot in this place, but the place we planned to eat in was full and we were hungry.Never again though, we were trying to join two tables together and the owner came over and spoke to us. He has absolutely no customer care skills, we was very rude and condescending. Told us it was "one of his rule" that tables can't be moved. I felt like I was back at school. "One of his rules"? I've never entered a restaurant before and been lectured about the rules. From scanning some if the other reviews it seems this guy makes a habit out of this kind of behaviour. One of the more positive reviews makes it clear that the food is good but Rico "takes a bit of getting used to". Frankly if he expects me to buy food from him I don't expect to have to have to get used to him, as I firmly believe that being able to talk to paying customers in a civilised manner is a prerequisite to being able to run a restaurant. No way am I going to try to get used to being spoken to like that.He does employ a few young ladies who seemed very nice and I felt a little sorry for them as I am the kind of person who does not allow people to talk to me rudely and the ladies caught some of my anger. Also what should have put me off was the sign saying "no credit or debit cards". I can just about accept small businesses not taking credit cards because of the transaction fees. But debit cards? The transaction fee is tiny. Not allowing any cards at all is pretty unusual these days and very inconvenient.Maybe if the owner had a clue how to talk to paying customers he would have more customers spending money in his Deli and he wouldn't have to solicit tips (another review here says he does that) and not be able to stand 40p per transaction off his margin to allow a customer to use a debit card.Very poor.

Has a good reputation as a lunchtime café, and has now extended to opening 3 evenings a week. It has a limited menu, mainly Italian themed, but what they do is very good and reasonably priced. Even better for the budget, bring your own drink - 2 late night shops nearby to stock up. Our table of 4 had a variety of dishes - the sardine starter, the soup and particularly the vegetarian mushroom risotto are especially worthy of mention. One of us had what we thought was going to be steak tagliatelle - but turned out not to be strips of fillet steak in a tagliatelle sauce, but a piece of steak sitting on lettuce leaves. Fortunately we ordered a side plate of vegetables, the steak was very tender and tasty, but to our regret, we did not query the description or presentation at the time. Puddings were home made and delicious. The only strange experience came at the end. We settled up in cash, and after we got our change, our waiter (I think the guy who owns the place) asked us if we had enjoyed our meal, which got a universal approval - then he asked....'and the service...?' We translated this as 'you have not left a tip yet' and caused us to take some sharp intakes of breath. I'm ambivalent about tipping at the best of times (in my job if I had accepted money for extra good service, I would be sacked, and rightly so), and there is an extra dilemma when it comes to tipping the guy who owns the place rather than an otherwise variably motivated employee. The irony is that another member of our party was just getting some money out to leave under a saucer when this solicitation to tip was uttered, and he immediately decided to halve it when the suggestion came!

The young waitress, by contrast, was very smiley and pleasant. As we were finishing our coffee and sandwich and scone a large group of cyclists arrived.I appreciate they would have taken up a lot of room and required a lot of service but the owner was so rude in turning them away! He told the gentleman making inquiries about coffees that they would break his coffee machine and could they all leave! This is a small but perfectly formed Italian Style cafe, serving coffee, sandwiches and lunches daily. It closes usually about 16.00. Under the personal supervision of the proprietor the standard of the food never varies - consistently excellent. Value for money is the order of the day. The Ciabata rolls, Panini and all ingredients are first class quality, both the bread and the contents. The Yorkshire humour of the Italian born proprietor adds a superb extra factor, which makes having a coffee or Lunch here into a pure joy. I go whenever I can - and it's on my doorstep, in the attractive High Street of Boston Spa.

I love this place. I’ve been several times and it’s always got such a lovely atmosphere and a warm welcome from the two owners. The pizza is delicious and I am never disappointed. It’s simple tasty food, not fancy but that makes it even more delightful I think. I would encourage everyone to go and try it out, Yeadon lacks good places to eat and places that open up don’t seem to stay long. I hope this place stays ❤️

I would give a zero if I could came in with my 2 boys one in a pram a young baby for lunch told me no tables very rudely but let 2 girls in behind me to be seated come back half a hour later she told me still no tables then I finally got a seat thanks to a different lady to then sit down she was muttering under her breath about us and then told my son he couldn’t drink his drink unless from there so very rude and poor customer service I would defiantly not go again and I’ve been going since a young girl gone down hill since gilda left!! Very rude manager

Can understand the bad reviews of this place. Stopped in whilst partaking on the otley run. The lady who served us was super accommodating ,friendly and just a great character who you could have a laugh with. She talked us through the menu and told us what about makes the pizzas here special. And they lived up to their own hype. I ordered a simple margarita an d it was easily one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in the UK or anywhere. Not to doughy like most Neapolitan pizzas these days. Just the right amount of ingredients and a great thin base. Place was spotless and everything was 10/10 Hope this place gets the trade it deserves. Fantastic food
