Fui con mi esposa bastante temprano el viernes por la noche y el lugar estaba lleno. Un personal amable y servicial en un entorno "tradicional" pero un tanto peculiar. El pollo alla catciatore (lo siento si está mal deletreado) estaba sabroso con muchas aceitunas, aunque el pollo era un filete con mantequilla y bien cocinado, obviamente no había sido marinado como lo habría hecho, era un poco sin sabor. ¡Servicio rápido sin embargo!

My wife and I decided to go here for my birthday meal, last night and we were genuinely pleasantly surprised. The food was incredible, really authentic tasting, I highly recommend the mussels and the lasagne. My wife even had a word with the waiter and he popped a couple of candles in my tiramisu and sang Happy Birthday albeit a little reluctantly haha My only criticism and this is by no means a proper negative is that the food came out a little too quickly in between courses, but I guess that was down to it being a quiet Monday evening, The waiter was also happy to give my wife and I a complimentary shot of Amerito which was a great touch.

We ate here the night before the Great North and the food was amazing, the best carbonara I have ever eaten. The staff were lovely and friendly and we will definitely return next year

Menu choice was a bit disappointing and pricey. The food was ok but not good value. House wine was disgusting and had to be sent back. Over the years I have given this place lots of chances but never felt it ever reached the mark.

The place was very nice everyone else enjoyed the meal, but if you have a food intolerance it is not the place to go. Told I could only have chicken. Would not go again

The place from outside doesnt do it justice, yet intruiging when you look through the windows. Quiet busy, good sign, so I went in for a simple pizza. I had a very nice fresh napolitana and I simply wanted roasted vegetables and cheese, which wasnt on the menu, yet the chef was happy to make one without any fuss.

Went here as a family to celebrate a birthday. Excellent service, great food and great company. Daughter wasn’t feeling well and had to leave part way through the meal, staff were totally unphased and allowed us to delay the main course until she returned. Despite delay food was fresh and hot. Highly recommended.

I went to pacinos italian restaurant south shields with my daughter. I am celiac so can be tricky to eat just anywhere. I told the waitress about my intolerance and she was fantastic right from the start. I had mussels followed by chicken arribata absolutely delicious, will definitely be back. The waitress explained right from the start what i could and could not have. Such a treat to have a waitress know exactly about my celiac disease. 10 out of 10.

Family out for dinner, superb food and excellent service. Daughter needed to leave after the starter as she suffers from Crohns. We asked that they delay the main course by about 15 minutes. They agreed. 20 minutes later when my daughter and boyfriend returned, they asked us if we were ready for the main course. A few minutes later hot fresh food served of a very high quality. A great meal and we were completely unhurried, needless to say we were last to leave. A first class meal and service, highly recommended!

Great food, nice staff. They even made me a quattro formaggi pizza, which wasn't on the menu. Everyone enjoyed the food, particularly the pizzas and home made cheesecake, tiramisu was a little disappointing but otherwise great!

Found this place in the middle of a load of Indian restaurants on ocean road. Service was great, food was excellent and they made a huge fuss of my seven year old son, which was lovely. Reasonably priced and will definitely be back.

I visited Pacinos with my husband and recieved excellent service from the friendly and welcoming staff. First class food and extensive menu.

My fiancé and I enjoyed a nice meal here on Friday. We were greeted by friendly staff and chose starters and mains from a well-stocked menu. Food was of good quality and the restaurant started to fill up as it approached 7pm. Wouldn't hesitate in eating here again for a tea time treat.

Nice food as usual. Friendly staff and a good service. Our old favourite that we always go back aswhich doesnt disappoint.

We visited for a takeaway and on entering we wished we had gone to dine in. Lovely ambience and a really cosy feel to the place. We ordered ant pasta and two pizzas which were both excellent, with the anti pasta a delicious mix of good quality mozzarella, prawns, salad, pepperoni and salami and olives. The garlic and tomato pizza bread was also great. The value was astounding compared to most Italian restaurants and we will be visiting again when next in the area.

A restaurant with nice atmosphere, quick service, good food (the main thing), at an affordable price. We even got a complimentary Ammaretto to finish of our very nice meal.

We are visitors from Australia and have been staying in South Shields for a few days. We have been to this restaurant for 3 nights in a row as the food is SO GOOD. It is not just the food, it is the wonderful staff and the atmosphere. If you are in the area you have to try this restaurant.

My heart will always lie with lasagne, they do a one to die for. Haven't been for a while though, the staff were always nice. The only let down is the place is a little small and a bit dark but still a lovely meal none the less

The fish was like cardboard the prawns were like rubber the spare ribs were tough, what more can I say, they actually took the price of the fish off the bill. Sorry.

Firstly this restaurant is in South Shields, not newcastle like it's listed. Secondly, this restaurant he's been here for years and has ha numerous problems with environmental health and has even been closed down before. I'm sure all of the problems have been rectified but it's still worth remembering. We ate here as part of a group, not my choice, but it was as I remembered. Average food, average service, average price. There are much better Italians in South Shields.

Uit de riante keuze aan restaurants is Pacinos er één die wel vol zit.Helaas zijn er veel tafeltjes en weinig ruimte. Het eten is gewoon goed, ik heb daar een prima zeebaars gegeten en het ijsdessert was uitstekend en de espresso nog beter.Maar ik vond het er wel erg vol met mensen.

Well, from the minute we stepped into the door we felt welcomed, being the first customers for the day the waiter cracked a joke about it, good times..Anyway the service was second to none, the waiter and waitress were polite and attentive, and the food was brilliant, a starter, 2 pizzas,2 glasses of wine and 2 deserts came to around £30 (rounded up)The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the dust and dirt on the decor and the seats were pretty uncomfortable.Other than that, definitely would recommend.

I went with my girlfriend on a busy sat night. The place was busy our table was booked for 19:30We was shown to our seats and the service was outstanding We ordered drinks and took our time to order since the menu was so tempting in the end I had ribs my girlfriend stuff mushrooms We enjoyed our starters and the staff was most helpful our mains was more than a plateful and was fresh and cooked to perfection The whole place has a good feel and good vibe. Both me & my girlfriend are looking forward to a return meal. The price of our meal was for the quality very very good And I was surprised at the value The complimented free shot was the final. To what can only be called a great meal. In a place that wants your custom and I will be going back and would recommend this wonderful little place. 7 days a week

How difficult is it to ruin potato skins or pizza? The former were greasy and the latter soggy and bland. Menu offers a reasonable amount of dishes, although restricted for vegetarians, but not much in the way of good traditional Italian fayre which is possibly why prices can be kept low. Unfortunately along with low prices comes lack of taste and less than average food.Service was adequate. Like others we received a free glass of Amaretto on the house but even this appeared to be watered down.Given the availability of other restaurants on Ocean Road I can only suggest you try elsewhere.

Not quite sure where to start with this review, I'll keep it short and simple. Don't have anything dec ent to say about this establishment, stay in and buy frozen pizza, it will be a lot more authentic than the food served here. I make homemade pizza so did not choose this for my main, went for chicken parmo, tasteless served with chips and a bit salad. Left it. Chose un Italian pork ribs to start, served 4 with lashings of tasteless sauce and salad, what's with salad with everything? I tasted 2 in my company's pizza, no idea what the base was made of, soggy. It's making me sick just thinking about this place. Perhaps I caught this place on a bad night, I won't however return to see if that was the case.

We visited Pacinos while staying at the Elmswood Guest House. We had been recommended to Da Vincis but that was busy. Nice restaurant with a distressed feel to the decor - deliberate! Staff were attentive and friendly. Food was very good - not just pasta and pizza on the menu. My husband had mussels which were so obviously fresh and beautifully cooked - not a plastic bag in the microwave job. I had chicken in cream and Dolcelatta sauce with amazing fresh vegetables served al dente. My husband had a great steak and the Pinot Grigio was very acceptable. All in all not really bothered that Da Vinci's was busy we had a great meal and the staff were lovely.

We have eaten here twice in the last ten days during our visit to Newcastle, and found it spot on. Great food, friendly service at very reasonable prices.Our steaks were superb as was the pasta. My only concern is that the picture of the restaurant is not that of Pacino's !

Attended with my girlfriends and we had not been for a while, lovely service with a smile, food was very good, atmosphere was just right and we were made to feel very welcome. Will DEFINITLEY be going back :)

A trip to Pacinos is very much a place to go for lovely Italian food and atmosphere. For good value and the true Italian feel with atmosphere, good service and value for money. All the staff go out of there way to make your evening special. When ever we decide to go for a meal we appear to always end up here as we enjoy it so much.

I'll start with don't bother over priced garbage chicken wings for starter straight from ice land deep fried bland rot with no seasoning we ordered the meal deal offer and didn't get asked if we wanted our deserts or coffees we will never go back don't go here ....

I visited Pacino's with my partner last week, it was brilliant we both had a fantastic night and the food was lovely, cooked perfectly. It was decorated very cosy and i had a nice relaxed evening. The service was great, and the price is brilliant! I will be going back in the near future 10/10

The food was average - not bad, but nothing to rave about.The service was very good.The seating arrangment, and whole overall effect, was not as relaxing asit should be. They could do with a couple of tables less to make it a more 'intimate' experience.

I have been there with my friends the restaurant is very stylish and new decorate that we all liked it and food was very fab specialy the pizza was very yummy and nice staff.

Title says it all stick to the curry houses in shields, much better value than this place hear to Newcastle for a decent Italian

Firstly, the address above needs the Newcastle Upon Tyne taken out as this is 10 miles away in South Shields. Therefore, it does not come up in the search results for Italians in South Shields. Annoying when I pick restaurants from reviews on here. Anyway, this cosy little Italian has just been refurbished. It has two rooms, a traditional cosy room that seats tables up to around 6 or a large room for parties and the busy weekends. So however many people are in the food is always great. The have specials on where you can get 3 courses for £9.95 (all night, every night) but I got any starter and any chicken dish of the specials for £8.95. A bargain as most chicken dishes cost around that alone. My friends ate pasta and we both had potato skins to start. There is a £1.50 charge for using a card which I didn't like so I didn't leave a tip which I would have if there was no charge. This was just a tester but I'll defo go back.

We had this restaurant recommended to us but it was very difficult to find as it's hidden just behind the quay side. It was well worth a visit with dramatic fires lighting up the outside which was buzzing all night. There was a great selection of food and wine, all of which was delicious. I would recommend anyone intending visiting this restaurant to book in advance as they are so very popular.

We have a family meal at Pachinos once a month. The food and service are excellent and its great value for money. The only downside is that the restaurant is starting to look very tired, could do with a lick of paint.

We went out for food without booking on a Friday night and initially tried De Vincis but couldn't get in for at least half an hour. Instead we went to Pacino's who seated us straight away. We had two soft drinks, two starters, two main courses, a garlic bread and two coffees. Cost was £32. Value for money?...barely. The starters were OK. Pate stuffed mushrooms were nice but I thought the pate was a bit watery and tasteless, probably cheap shop bought. The baked avocado was quite tasty but would have benefited from some bread on the side to mop up the sauce that was left over after eating the avocado and prawns. The mains were two of our usual favourites, pasta carbonara and pasta fruiti di mare (or fish). They were very tasty, although the carbonara would have benefited from being a bit more cheesy. Coffee was delicious and served with a couple of amoretti biscuits, which was a nice touch.I’ve read a lot about service on here and have to say the service was adequate. We ordered drinks and the correct drinks were there quickly and very reasonably priced compared to other eateries. The food was not rushed; neither did we wait too long. The staff were not rushed off their feet but there was a feeling that it was just a case of order, serve, bill with very few interactions or pleasantries which suits some and probably not others. There was a very informal dress code for staff but this place is very much a bistro and not a posh restaurant. That said the staff looked shabby for the most part. People may think that this means service is poor but it wasn’t that bad. The nice touch came at the end when the bill was brought. We each had a glass of Amaretto on the house which was welcome and much unexpected. At £32, this was the higher end of the scale for Ocean Road, I’d say. I wouldn’t rush back whereas I would if it had been exceptional. That said I wouldn’t say don’t go.

Really suprised on a recent trip to this restaurant that the service has gone down hill, the food was ok but not as good as it used to be.

Went for my birthday on 17/09/2011 What a shambles!!!We had booked for 7.30 and had not received the starter an hour later. It did not matter if you had booked or not and large groups of people were herded outside the toilets waiting for tables. A large group from outside the area were very loud and swearing . We had children with us and found this very unacceptable.The staff were very uninformative and impolite. The only thing they seemed interested in was how many people they could pack in!!!No atmosphere whatsover and a complete waste of money. If you are visiting South Shields go somewhere else. We are locals and would never use it again.They even had the nerve to wish me happy birthday as we left.

we did not book a table and were asked to sit on chairs at the back of the restaurant facing the toilets we were there about 10-15 mins (with no offer of a drink or a menu) but as we thought the restaurant was full we didnt say anything then we well led into a separate part of the restaurant past the kitchen this room was as big if not bigger than the restaurant and only had two other couples seated and about 15 empty tables so why we couldnt have been sat down while the waiters were chatting at the bar in beyond me, they are no italian staff so no real insight into the dishes can be given and when i asked if i could order a dish that wasnt on the menu (very well known dish ) i had to explain to two different members of staff what was in the dish , which they did try there best to make but it wasnt the best and the sauce on mine and my partners dishes tasted mainly of cream, we asked for more drinks but thay never arrived , i always tip even if the service wasnt the best but i am not ashamed to say we left no tip as the staff were so disinterested. also we both found the seats really uncomfortable they are wood and have a lip at the front of the seat which digs in your legs and leaves a very unattractive red line on the backs of your legs , the place could do with a lick of paint alwell. The only good point was the free amaretto at the end of the meal .

I visited pachinos restaurant saturday evening with my family, and the overall experience was disappointing for all.I had booked a table of eight, and when we got there we were ushered onto a table in the middle of the room, in front of the bar, in what seemed like a walkway-which was not pleasant to begin with! I had a lovely view of the staff taking the dirty dishes back and forth to the kitchen.The food was ok. Average Italian pizza and pasta. The service, however, needed to be improved. One waiter in particular was not rude, just completely disinterested. He took food away before we had finished eating, brought the wrong order as a starter when it had been asked as a main course- and brought it back ten minutes later, warmed through and soggy.The restaurant was cold and drafty. It has gone through a change of ownership, I think. It really needs improvement as I would not recommend this due to the amount of restaurants nearby.

At here on a busy Saturday night, were asked to wait on seats opposite the toilet despite there being 3 empty tables which remained empty while we ate. I ordered mussels and thought I had made it clear I wanted a starter size portion with a garlic bread for my main, the waiter came back twice to check the order yet I still received and was charged for a main course portion. Also they were New Zealand mussels which I found slightly unusual! My dining companions Lasagne was very good and no complaints wih the garlic bread and side orders. Overall I would recommend and the happy hour specials advertised seem very reasonable.

Eaten here several times when visiting family in South Shields. Food and service is consistently good, and excellent value for money.

Very romantic, good food, good value

This is not a real Italian restaurant , the reason being is that "is owned by Iranian man" also there is not any Italians working there. So guess it can be called Italian cuisine , but not Italian restaurant.Its a bit like having a traditional english pub in the middle of Rome owned by a chinese ,if you get my idea.

Been here a couple of times with the wife. I cant believe nobody has commented on the lovely little gem of a restaurant. The food is quality. The owner is a very friendly Italian man whom makes you feel very welcome and its as if you are in a little restaurant in Italy. I would recommend everyone to come here its a very romantic place, and lick your lips kind of place. Delicious.Mmm
