The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Italian food

Ate here for the first time a while back after seeing recommendations on the local forums and I do love mediterranean food. We were so disappointed, not just with the food but the service too. I had a steak and it had an awful flavour and texture, much of the food seemed to have the same aftertaste. Service was slow that is not so unusual in a Mediterranean style restaurant, but they just seemed to uninterested, the wine list was very limited and no one in our party enjoyed the food so have not returned, A couple of us were unwell the day after and are concerned that it may have been food related.

I came here for lunch as spending a few hours in Littleborough before heading home to Preston on the train. A beautiful spring day,short walk through the park. Staff very friendly and welcoming,cafe very spacious. I enjoyed a pot of tea, and a proper homemade cheese and onion pie,chips were great,pie really tasty.It was quite busy with people coming and going,but wasnt rushed,and able to enjoy relaxing and just taking some time out.Had a nice chat with some local ladies.I will gladly visit again when in the area

atrocious service. we ordered via their website at 1830 for pick up at 1905. arrived at 1900 and they took my cash payment immediately not mentioning any issues saying it wouldn’t be long. at 1915 a guy came and told me would be 20 mins. lady told me at 1940 would be 5 mins. during this time people walking out people complaining about the service and ending up either leaving or asking for food to be boxed up as they had waited so long quoting 1hr 45 mins for food. 1955 he came out again to say will be 5 mins. food came eventually at 2000 and as i left the shop the guy followed me out with a bottle of wine as an apology. when i got home food was lovely and piping hot but they should just be honest about the waiting maybe something was going on and this isn’t normal as i’ve never been here before but if they don’t tell you what’s going on then you don’t know.

I had a vegetarian pasta dish specifically with aubergine, except there was barely a trace of aubergine - about 10 TINY flecks of aubergine. The pasta sauce looked identical to that put on my friends Margherita pizza! And her opinion of her pizza was very poor, worse than my pasta.

Ordered delivery for a kids party, pizzas were really tasty and delivery was on time. Thank you!

Ordered gnocchi. Uncertain as to whether was due to them being busy or is their usual portion. Got about 12 gnocchi portions. Appreciate authentic Italian is small portion but equated to about a pound a gnocchi. Complete rip off. Plenty of nice places in the market that offer better food and better value for money.

Our first visit but I'm sure it won't be our last - the perfect place to celebrate my birthday!

Came here for lunch. Came to the place quite a few times few years back and it was v good. Today, we wanted to leave after 5mins of being there. There were only few tables on the front (all in one area). The service was just embarrassing, non attentive and staff was staying behind bar.l, not making themselves visible. We had to get up twice to go to bar to get their attention. When at our table, they looked unhappy and rude. Also, the vegetable in our place (we both got same main course) was extremely salty and mentioned to waiter when they cleaned table, food was left on place and they said absolutely nothing. We decided not to pay the discretionary service charge that was included in the bill. We told the manager to exclude the service charge as service was not good and he just said ‘ok’ as if saying whatever. Did not ask why we were unhappy or say sorry. He just didnt care! Shame foe this restaurant to fall under hands of these people. Disgusting place with disgusting staff. They feel entitled to service charge that is included in bill, and give a crap service. We’d be embarrassed to come to this place ever again.

This was a lunchtime time visit, the restaurant wasn't busy but it wasn't welcoming at all. Not having a booking we were made to feel like we shouldn't be there, could be because just about everyone else was male in a suit! The team rated the whole experience a 2, food not worth the price charged! I'm posting for all os us who don't wear suits and are looking for great food and good vibes!

Very good place to eat and drink. Service is excellent. Been there quite a few times.
