Metro Piazza in Hillingdon

Me and my partner went to this place on a Saturday evening which was busy. however, when the waitress said to us do you have a table booked we said no. Then at the same time more and more people where coming inside, and we were pushed to the side when she served and attended the other guests. We waited 5 minutes after her saying ..... No we have no tables. Very rude and customer service terrible, definitely NOT returning here again.

Excellent food, staff. Ideal place for a party as the ave a separate floor for hiring . Worth checking out. Having my 70th in there . Excited 😊

I reviewed this restaurant 6 years ago, It still retains its pleasant environment. Service was okay although not over friendly. We were lured in by the 2 for 1 lunch deal. In the past this was a good deal. but Metro has raised its prices considerably and now a plate of pasta or pizza costs around £18.00, so even at 2 for 1 it is not the best deal around and the portions are not huge although quite tasty. With drinks and service the price does mount up so it ended up not being a particularly low cost lunch. Were I paying full cost, I do not feel that the food offerings justify the pricing.

Great place to eat. Not over crowded. Food is very good. Service is great, and never overhanging on your table, and definitely enough help. Food was promt and not cold

It was the 5th day after arriving in the UK. My son was very busy today and had to have dinner by himself. I found this Italian restaurant on Google Maps. The service, food and atmosphere here are beyond my expectation.

It took 1 hour to get starters and then another hour and still no mains! Not worth it even with the starter.

My friends and I enjoyed an evening meal and drinks at Metro Italia. The food was delicious and plentiful and we'll definitely be back and recommend this restaurant.

I just ordered a takeway from here and all I can say is AMAZING. The chips cooked to perfection, the garlic bread so so tasty amd full of flavour and the chicken salad extraordinary !!!!! 10/10 !!!

We ordered takeaway. This is pasta amatriciana. Look how much onions it had. Ok, I know amatriciana has onion in it. But THIS MUCH???? Is it pasta or some onion dish??? And it was half raw.... It had that strange taste of raw onion. And also has olives in it.. didn't bothered me but on Uber eats menu doesn't say anything about olives.... Will not order again. Apologies.

We went for the 2 for 1 lunch, its a great deal and the food was some of the best weve had in a while in this area and the atmosphere was great. Our waiter, I think his name was Carlos, was lovely and very accommodating. We will definitely be coming again!

Went here as a large group for a birthday. They seated upstairs which was a much larger area. The restaurant looks nice, good atmosphere and seating is comfortable. We ordered a mixture of starters, mains and drinks and I can't fault any of it. Everything I tried was tasty. Food was presented well and service came quickly and with a smile. Staff was attentive, helpful and funny. Made the night excellent. A little pricey but worth it for the experience.

The place has a unique decor and I love the atmosphere. Excellent pizza and the bruschetta is some of the best I've tried in the city.

This is my favourite Italian restaurant. The staff are so friendly and attentive. They're really nice with kids and serve with a smile. The food is phenomenal and authentic. This is a great restaurant for a nice family meal and I highly recommend it.

You can never go wrong here! One of the most consistent Italian places you can eat at. Great for either dinner or lunch, I've enjoyed both. This is now turning into my regular. Book a table to secure your place as they do get busy, understandable with how good they are!

Reasonably tasty, good size dishes spoiled by having to sift through a number of Bayleaves left in the sauce of the Spaghetti Marinara. When mentioned It was just dismissed by the waiter. I’ve eaten all over Italy and never have had any bits of bayleaves left in sauces. Received no apology at all which was disappointing.

The food was fantastic the. The service was great and lovely staff. Atmosphere was great. If it wasn't so pricey I would recommend it.

Absolutely first class from start to finish Family meal to celebrate a birthday with some guests arriving at a later time. Everyone catered for, food was presented quickly and was hot. Tasted great and a big selection of food meant everyone was covered. Great staff and fair prices

I would like to thank the staff of this restaurant, for looking after my party of 30 family and friends on Sunday, to celebrate my 60th birthday. We really had a fantastic experience. Living in Wales, this is not our local, but we booked this on a recommendation of family members, who have visited before. We was not disappointed. The food was really excellent. My son commented that the prawn starter was the best prawn starter he had ever tasted. He's 35! The ambience was first class. The seating really comfortable. The staff and service was exemplary. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will definitely visit on our next trip to Ruislip.

Have been here twice - both times the staff were great. Real assets to the restaurant. We have two young children who were hungry and the waiter got their food out extra quick! The food is decent Italian fayre, good number of choices and plentiful. Real strength is the choice on kids meals. I would note that this is not a cheap restaurant nor will you require a loan to eat there but you get what you pay for. One small improvement would be to add some dairy free/vegan deserts to the menu.

The only thing that was nice was the garlic bread. If you like chunky veg in your spag bol, this would be great for you. So disappointing- they need to do better but I would not return.

Completely crazy , asked for a table downstairs by the window , but stuck upstairs with which was v v loud Don’t come here if you want a quiet meal

We booked a table for 14 people for my daughters 16th birthday. The waitress was amazing, all of our food was very hot and tasted fantastic. Nothing was to much. They even brought out the cake and sung. It was an amazing evening would recommend

We booked a table for my daughter’s birthday for her sweet 16 and we left more than happy. The meal and the portions were incredible but the whole night was made even more special by the waitress Romina she took care of our table and was lovely with my kids and sang happy birthday at the end of our meal. A place I will recommend for sure to everyone

What a delightful restaurant, wanting to visit for sometime and thanks to Pizza Express Ruislip, ( served me and partner half cooked pizza last week), I was determined to visit Metro Italia-Ruislip. The staff are so welcoming and seating extremely comfortable. The ambience is so traditional, you would think that you’re in Italy. My starter of olives, and garlic bread with cheese set the tone for what was to come. Very tasty freshly made, garlic bread full of flavour. Now having ordered veg pizza and salmon dish, I lost track of time while enjoying their cool Peroni draught beers. Highly recommend it. So had to ask for mains for takeaway, which were well packed. Seriously, when I got home, the food was outstanding in flavour and sheer quality. Only the prawns were super small in size with the salmon dish but not spoiling the experience. Their menu is very well laid out and I shall be back to try more dishes soon. Must thank, Pizza Express Ruislip for sending me here for good. This lovely restaurant has become a bit of a tradition for me and my son when travelling down from the north to Wembley. It’s only a short walk to the tube station and on the four occasions we have been to this restaurant in the past year or so we’ve always been pleased. The food is delicious and the service is spot on.

One of my favourite places, consistently good. The Prawn Spagnola for starters, The Lasagna, Siciliana Pizza and The Mediterranean Prawns are excellent as are the cocktails and deserts!

Small restaurant but delightful place, we had desserts staff were friendly and food was great.

We were upstairs, it was quite dark. The service was a bit slow, one of the waiters was too busy chatting to a table of Italians. The food was not too bad, but nothing special.

Service from our uninteresed and barely there waiter was very poor, many of our group were left very disappointed by the food eventually served. Old favourites were ordered but what arrived after an hour and a half was not as before and almost inedible. Sauce's/fillings we're lacking in quantity and taste, barely a single plate was cleared by our group. Prices don't seem to be as reasonable as previous visits and we all questioned whether or not we would return. NB How long does it take to sort out the card machine, looking back through the reviews it's been broken for over a year!! Really??!

Love this little gem in Ruislip

Visited for a pre Christmas catch up with the girls. Needed to change the booking a few times, nothing but helpful. Delayed arriving, again, so polite. Service on arrival, and during our visit, was exceptional. Staff were attentive and happy to join in the banter (we had a fair amount of wine!). Now on to the food. Beautiful, hot, tasty, and authentic. We, as predicted, were the last to leave, but at no point did we feel rushed. Highly recommend and thank you for a lovely evening.

Sat evening catch up with friends. Restaurant was busy but we were seated immediately. Well what can I say...the starter sharing platter was AMAZING and the pizzas superb. Considering how busy it was, our services was attentive but not in your face. It had been a while since we had caught up with our friends and so we had a lot to catch up on and continued to enjoy a beer or two. Never did we feel rushed out (even though most of the staff had left ). Ambiance was great - although I think my one gripe would be that it is also used for takeaways and the courier bikers come in the front door and hover / lean over the area where we were sitting (Table for 4 at front window) and the front door is constantly opening & closing - thank goodness it was a very mild night. All that said, I would highly recommend

I had hoped the bad reviews were wrong - they weren’t. Went in on a Saturday lunchtime, only one table taken yet we weren’t allowed to choose where we wanted to sit. Pasta was beyond average but the garlic bread was good. No check back to see how the food was and some dishes were cleared away whilst others were still eating. Staff acted like we were doing them a favour and whilst I didn’t take the service charge off the bill, it was in no way deserved. Would not return when there is far better food & service available close by. Food is seriously overpriced for what is served up.

We had come to Ruislip to find somewhere to eat, and saw Metro Italia across the road. On entering, there was a welcoming ambience. Romina was delightful and attentive. After bringing the menus, and drinks she was enthusiastic regarding various choices. I like Spaghetti Bolognese, so that was my choice. It was delicious and cooked with just the right amount of bite and spice and very moreish, and I was pleasantly full on finishing it. My brother had the Penne Pollo ( of which I took the leftovers home) my mother the salmon, and her friend the Fettuccine Salome e Vodka All the dishes were simple and beautifully presented. The portions sizes are excellent, so much so, that microwavable containers were provided to take the leftovers home. My mother and her friend decided to share a dessert, which looked very tempting but unfortunately I had no room. I will definitely return one afternoon for salad, dessert and tea. Romina bought some wonderful amoretti biscuits at the end of our meal. The Chef was both charming and friendly. I highly recommend Metro Italia and it is now on my go to list of restaurants to suggest to my friends.

Had lunch in here on Thursday afternoon. Very busy and staff were good. Pizza was decent in and out in under an hour, served the purpose.

Service was good but some of the dishes were very disappointing. Ordered what I used to enjoy in the past but what I got was completely different and almost inedible. Pasta was too undercooked, the middle was too stodgy and the sauce was uninspiring.. The aubergine dish barely had any aubergine and was swamped in tomato sauce. Having always rated this restaurant as excellent and enjoyed the food I would seriously consider eating elsewhere in the future.

Really food, beautiful made pizza and pasta. Good vegetsrian selection, staff very friendly and prompt and great service. Great place to enjoy a great Italian locally.

Service average food good like a lot of establements it's getting expensive to eat out

I'd read good reviews online, but my experience wasn't so good. I ordered calzone, it looked delicious when it arrived, but it was stone cold in the middle! I sent it back and it was put in the microwave!! Of course it was soggy and nasty when it came back, terrible for a £14.50 dish. The waitress didn't once come back to check it was ok and didn't offer an apology or any bill reduction either. Needless to say we will not be going back to this restaurant.

Visited two weeks ago and had a fantastic meal with our family. What I love as a vegetarian is the fact that they will adapt anything on their menu to accommodate me - and nothing is too much trouble! We first visited this restaurant the week it opened and it's been a family favourite ever since! Highly recommended 👌🏼

The service was a disaster we was just 4 people in all restaurants they was coming to take the order after they done other jobs (putting the boxes of wine up)! We said okay we will wait then took for a pizza and a salad one hour to be ready the food especially the salad wasn’t fresh the ingredients also the leaves of the salad was just thrown on the bowl and old as well! Just disgusting and the prices doesn’t much the quality

Testing another Italian pretty good, started with a burrata with a glaze of balsamic vinegar, mains a pizza lovely thin base rich flavour and crust on point, also they have a homemade chilli oil which is very dippable and a good hit of spice. And seafood spaghetti with mussels, squid rings. Then to finish you completly off a tiramasu. Al this including drinks £30 each pretty good for a Wed night out #metroitalia. Nice ambience inside.

Usually fantastic quality of food, just had to mark a point down from the odd miscommunication from time to time and also the smell of smokers when the front door is left open. Might be worth installing air-con to avoid having to leave the door open to cool things down.

I went yesterday for glass of Prosecco and sat outside and it was wonderful. I went back later with some friends for a late lunch and the food was great and the 2 for 1 deal is really good! We enjoyed all our food and the service was superb also. Will definitely be going back very soon

Birthday lunch on bank Holiday. Service was great, friendly and helpful waiters. Food was excellent, we shared two starters bruschetta and mushrooms between 4 people. Just about right to save room for the main meal, I had seafood pasta which was tasty although i was expecting a tomato sauce instead it was cooked whole tomatoes. Wine was pricey £8 per glass but as it was my birthday splashed out. Downstairs restaurant was spacious and comfortable. Would recommend.

We had a lovely meal at Metro Italia. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The funghi al forno starter was very good and the spaghetti bolognese too. It was busy and would definitely recommend a visit.

Ordered online as reviews suggested it would be a nice experience Funghi Al Forno - greasy fried mushrooms swimming in the most tasteless passata with grated cheddar cheese. Was in no way baked at all, rather microwaved in the tub. Minestrone Soup - fairly bland oily broth with carrots, cabbage and courgettes. Why so much oil? After a few mouthfuls it became increasingly harder to swallow anymore soup. Had to drain it and season it. Didn't manage to toast the bread properly either. Fettuccini Carbonara - needs to be re-labelled as Alfredo with bacon or they need to actually cook carbonara. Eating the pasta with sauce and no bacon was like eating hot cream and pasta. Very bland. Alfredo is pasta, cream, parmesan & parsley. Carbonara is pasta, onion, pancetta, garlic, egg yolks, cream, parmesan, parsley. I'm absolutely certain they did not add any parmesan to the dish at all!!!

Delicious ice creams out the front. The decor inside is great fun and the staff are proper Italian friendly. Reasonably priced and central location. Parking's a little tricky unless you go round the back on down sides roads. A piece of Italy in Ruislip. Good service and nice ambience tonight.

Eat in here today with my daughter and granddaughter . Food exemplary, staff attentive friendly and just plain nice. Cold draught beers and good selection of wines if preferred. Lunch deal 2-4-1 .Definitely worth a visit if you need to impress or just want a great meal . I'll be back . Mark McDermott
