Poor evening over all. Very slow service and poorer food than usual. I’ve been a casual user over many years and on this particular visit I’m afraid it’s gone down hill. I’ve plumped for the knocky with fillet steak on many occasions but if it was fillet steak tonight I’m a breeze block. Took an age to be served each course and it turned out our final half an hour wait was because our order hadn’t reached the kitchen. Get a grip

Great restaurant great food service superb

2nd visit in last 6 weeks party of 10. Late to table on both occasions no apology or reason given by staff, 2nd visit by 20 mins. Service was very slow and several times we had to ask staff where are the starters then same with mains, waited 1hr between starts and mains. My lasagne was horrible, completely dry and tasteless. I just feel they cram too many ppl in and can't manage the service or food coming out at a reasonable time. First time they also added an extra bottle of wine to bill. Overall there are far better Italians nearby, won't be back.

Lovely Italian restaurant ideal for family events and large groups.

A lovely Italian in the centre of Tottington. I had the Sea Bass which was great, all my friends enjoyed their dishes and my friends folded meat feast of a pizza off the special menu looked, and she said, tasted great. I definitely recommend you book as it was very busy at 7pm on a Thursday evening, so service was a little slow and some of the items on the menu were finished. Lovely quirky decor with lots of imitation flowers and trees festooned with fairy lights, mixed up with Italian moped and statues, very romantic.

Highly recommend, landed here by accident but really beautiful authentic Italian place with great service and fantastic food.

I organised a meal for 32 people celebrating our wonderful work colleagues retirement. We preordered and had contact with Alex Coleman who was so helpful and professional everything went smoothly. Everyone enjoyed their meal, was extremely impressed with the fiood, service, staff and atmosphere. Thank you to everyone at Carmelos.

Highly recommend this restaurant. The staff were friendly. The food was amazing. Very clean. Make sure you book though. It's a popular place.

Great atmosphere and ambiance, helpful and friendly staff, first ever visit and it's very popular and probably for this very reason the food was a little disappointing tbf 2 of us a mediocre (barely warm) King prawn linguine and a well done(cremated) steak that had to be sent back but it was super busy so will visit again at a quieter time.

Never had a bad meal ever, our local restaurant. Food fantastic, staff fantastic every single time. Had the room booked and needed to cancel due to a problem and they were so accommodating when it wasn’t expected - just brilliant, thank you!

First time visit after recommendations from friends. We called mid afternoon and ate off the three course menu. Due to the time of visit it was very quiet but I would imagine the place would be buzzing in the evening. Lovely place, very clean. The waiter who saw to us was very friendly informing us of the various menu choices. Our food arrived in good time being surprised at the portion sizes,we have eaten at several places choosing either two or three courses at a set price often the portion sizes are markedly smaller than off the main menu, not so here, portions were regular size, never seen as many Prawns on a prawn cocktail. Both pasta dishes were very good, just the right amount of heat in my Vesuvio. All the staff we spoke with were polite, overall a great experience ,we will definitely be back.

Firm favourite of ours for over 20 years. We normally always dine in and always get a fabulous welcome and the staff can never do enough to look after us and make the dining experience Perfect. The menu is very varied - we haven’t had a bad dish yet. This weekend we got takeout and it was five star as always, and I especially enjoyed the canoli pistachio dessert that I was recommended 👌🏻 thank you

The bouncers do not check IDs thoroughly and let in underage children into the bar. Due to this, many altercations have now been caused from these people and the bouncers letting them in. Now the bar is banned for under 21s, when we are regular customers over the age 18. Now our experience has been ruined through the lack of responsibility of the security. Sort this.

Great to go back, as it’s always a welcomed and enjoyable experience. Food is A1, good price, good portions and great quality. Service is amazing. Only slight issue is the noise from the adjoining bar - if you’re as old as gods dog, like me, you appreciate the serenity of a quiet restaurant- didn’t spoil the evening though, so good all round

Three of us dined , the food was only passable and not hot we returned one meal and it was returned no hotter! The waiter plonked it on the table without speaking a word and banged off! Unbelievable, we do not recommend this restaurant.

Dined there for the first time with company last night the food arrived at the table cold so sent it back , the waiter returned with a fresh dish of pasta plonked it down in front of me with a terrible attitude more or less threw parmasan cheese on it gave me a dirty look and walked off. Needless to say I will never dine there again

Don't know how I've missed this place. Came in once 20+ years ago but not been since, until today being mother's day suggested by my daughter. Food great and service spot on considering how busy it was (did i say mothers day?). Can't comment on atmosphere because there were 11 of us in total making our own! Wife did say we would need to come again because three of her faves are on the menu and choice 1 was brilliant, so 1 down 2 to go!

Although I had a few issues (which the staff did everything possible to rectify and couldn't apologise enough) I still had a good night. The food we did have was fantastic, make sure your hungry, we could have easily just had the starter. - I did lol. I will be going back.

We recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in the Sinatra Function room above Carmelo’s restaurant and everything was outstanding: the room, food and service. Joe and Alex worked so hard to give us the experience we wanted. Thank you!

Carmelos is mine and my partners favourite place to dine. We’ve been coming here for around 4 years now. The service is always exceptional, it has a real family feel to it and we love the atmosphere. The staff always make us feel so relaxed, at home and the food is always amazing. Thank you! X

Had my daughters 30th birthday celebration at Carmelos and we had a fabulous evening! The manager catered for 40+guests and the service was fantastic. The staff were really great, the food was excellent and the atmosphere and saxophone player was brilliant. We would highly recommend Carmelos for a night out and meal or for a special event.

We ate here for the 1st time on Saturday evening and were very impressed. The service was friendly and attentive with plenty of staff to cope with the many full tables. The food was excellent....great quality ingredients, great presentation and good sized portions. The early bird menu is fantastic value and the price of both soft and alcoholic drinks is very reasonable. We will definitely be returning.

Was in the Sinatra room for a birthday, it's quaint, I feel we had too many people at the party for the space. But the pizzas were sooooo good it's unfair there wasn't more.

Best italian we have ever been to. Highly recommend it. Even beats restaurants in the Almalfi coast for me.

Brought my mum and my sister here for dinner this evening and was blown away as usual. Everyone was very happy with their food but even better was the service from the great waiters and waitresses. My mum and sister left feeling like a princess and queen which to me is priceless. Beyond 5 Stars to Carmelo’s. Thanks again guys 😀

What a lovely place, very pretty inside. The staff are really attentive and friendly. It's a venue for families, dogs and well behaved adults. There's a car park at the side too. The food seemed tasty, we had a spicy pizza which was yummy. And later on, there's a DJ or an act so it's not just a bog-standard restaurant. Recommended!

Just a lovely place with fantastic food and a great atmosphere. The bar is just as good as the restaurant too, fast becoming our new local!

Disappointed, !!! canaloni undercooked, staff running around, and rude at times, (25% service charge !!!) This happened on a previous visit , thought we might give it another try, but very disapointed again , we went to Carmen's ' regularly previously, 'but feel now that the whole concept has deteriated ,very sad, we had some great times in the past, but now we will not be going again .

Restaurant was very busy which is a good sign. Food was delicious, service impeccable. My first time at this restaurant, definitely won’t be my last.

Terrible take away experience unfortunately. Rang to order and was told it would be ready to collect in 10 minutes. 45 minutes later still waiting in the restaurant and being ignored by many staff, with the exception of the barman. No apology given for the wait and it appears they had forgotten about the order. Food was ready but not given to me. It was stone cold. Too late by this point to reorder. Very disappointing and poor management.

Carmellos has consistently been our go to place for a delicious dinner and night out with friends. We were party of 44 on Sunday the 12th . The staff were amazing as always, a big shout out to Alex and Biagio for looking after us so well.

We held a family event in the function room Sinatra's recently. It was a perfect venue for our party of under 40 guests. There is a speaker for your own playlists, a TV to play your memory slideshows etc. A piano if anyone can play. You can also decorate the room to suit the occasion. Staff are included in the reasonable room rate. The food and service were amazing, all our guests commented on it. Thank you so much. Only one thing spoiled our event slightly, the unbelievably LOUD music from the bar below drowned out ours a bit and it was difficult to hear the toast speeches. WHY does it have to be so loud?? ☹️

We held a family celebration recently in the upstairs function room, Sinatra's. It's a gorgeous room with a speaker to play your own playlists and staff included in the room rate. There are three options for the food, we had option 2 with pizzas, pasta, chicken and ribs etc. It was all delicious, everyone loved it. The staff were friendly and very helpful with the arrangements and service. One thing that did spoil the night was that later in the evening the bar below turned up their music to a deafening level partly drowning our music out. Our toasts couldn't be heard by those at the back. No music needs to be that loud, probably an illegal level and I am sure that staff will suffer hearing problems later in life! I am sure that diners in the restaurant would also like to have conversations without shouting.

There was a real buzz in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service excellent. Despite it being busy we didn't feel at all rushed. We hadn't booked so we had a drink in the bar while we waited for a table. Lovely bar staff and a chilled atmosphere. Definitely recommend and will be returning soon.

We went for my daughters birthday,nothing was too much trouble food was great we wouldn,t hesitate to return, not sure who the guy was i think the owner what a lovely guy great with the kids so well done everyone from the kitchen staff to the front of house we would deffo return thanks again everyone.

Food has gone down hill lately, very bland, don’t bother with desserts. Very poor, always a good crowd in, although I think carmelos like balardis more than the restaurant now.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant, whether you have fabulous pasta or incredible Pizza from the wood fired oven, the food is always spot on. I personally love the cannoli and always order this no matter how much I've already eaten.

Pizzas where very good and drinks where not expensive. Good night out.

Called in this morning as had half hour to kill for Dr's appt. The restaurant was closed though we were very kindly welcomed and had a coffee each . What a lovely gesture as he could see my frail mum was in need of a sit down . Very touched by the hospitality.

Food was amazing table was a in a dark area. But we had a fantastic evening.

Enjoyed the evening for grandsons birthday. Although was very disappointed to be charged £17 for chicken & chips for a child. Also to hear that the 10% service charge which is automatically added to the bill doesn’t go to the staff I really hope this isn’t the case and it goes to the well deserved staff.

Everything you want in a local Italian restaurant, friendly family run, long term staff, several great beers on tap and behind the bar, good mix of cocktails. The private room Upstairs perfect for an event or their afternoon tea.

I ate in this restaurant and the food is okay! What I was left with the bitter taste ,It’s the issue about the service charge (10%)! The service charge by the law is not mandatory but I heard that service charge doesn’t go to the staff as tips,it will end to the pockets of the owners that I consider disgusting towards the working staff and misleading to the customers,which probably think that service charge is intended as tips! Ask when you pay the bill to remove the service charge and give the extra money to the workers!

We had a delicious meal here on Saturday night. The place was busy with a live musician, good service and great atmosphere. Happy to reccomend 👏

The team at Carmelo’s had no problem accommodating a group of 12 of us on a Saturday evening. The pizza, pasta and wine were all great and our food arrived swiftly. The staff even sang happy birthday to my friend and brought him a chocolate brownie with candles in. The bar area is also nice if you want a drink after your meal. They had a good range of cocktails and live music on. The French Martini in particular was very good. I’d definitely recommend a visit here if you live locally. Thanks for a great meal guys!

We are "regulars " and love the place.

Last night I got hold of Carmelos asking if they had a gluten free menu, the reply I got was yes all of our pizza & pasta is, great I said, can I book a table, we booked for a table for 3, we got there ordered drinks, ordered our food, the starters were lovely, our mains weren't mine was lovely as was my daughters pizza, my wifes Calzone pizza was not cooked and had to send it back because the mushrooms were raw and cold, this was fixed straight away, we then got our pudding, now bear in mind that our daughter is gluten free, we automatically presumed that the chocolate fudge cake would be gluten free, it wasn't, I know it sounds like I'm moaning but you'd think that asking for a gluten free option the waiter/waitress at the beginning of the order would've advised us properly, then to cap it all off we inherited a 10% tip, which wasn't part of the menu/bill on previous visits.

Absolutely fantastic staff and owners! We had 30th birthday party at Carmelos. Everything from the start to finish was perfect. The venue, room upstairs is just perfect with its own toilets and bar. We had pizzas, so fresh and tasted amazing! Such a lovely place and people! Definitely recommend!

Had a large group with loads of young kids and they were brilliant, chefs and waiters really made the kids night. Food absolutely excellent as always, lovely atmosphere and the bill was very reasonable.

Food was lovely , bar area next to the seating area playing live music had a nice atmosphere Staff seemed really friendly only issues was every time the waiter came over engaging with the kids. I felt I had to say , say it don't spray it as he showers you as he speaks I went straight home and got in the shower I didn't want to even think about what landed on the food. I recommend a face mask 😷

One of my favourite local restaurants since Childhood, i've never had a disappointing meal here in many many years! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

Came for a works Xmas do and had a great time. The atmosphere was fantastic! We were in the room upstairs and the girl behind the bar was so nice! She was so friendly and efficient, people weren't waiting long to be served and there were quite a few of us too. We had pizzas that were delicious 😋 and given that we were a last minute Xmas party, can forgive the wait time on it coming up to us as the restaurant was busy too. I loved the decor! So modern and inviting, the tables upstairs were a little bit rickety though, kept turning round and tipping up on us haha and there's not a huge amount of parking there but there is a large car park down the road with restrictions. Otherwise, a well recommended place to go.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED..... booked the upstairs area for a 50th in April paying in full for the booking for 17th December to receive a phone call this afternoon 10 days before the event to be told that they have double booked the room. Yes there was an apology but couldn't even cover the upset and stress that has been caused! Avoid as clearly lack of organisation!

Cold in the restaurant, big space to heat. Service OK, no atmosphere, music too loud made chatting difficult. Had the early bird menu, not very inspiring, pizza quite charred in places
