Sambuca Seaham in County Durham

Had a catch up with a long time friend today at Sambucas. Agga the waitress was so friendly and chatty from coming through the door until we left. What a lovely person. We both opted for the 3 course lunch time special and it was delicious and good portion size. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and the long awaited catch up. A very nice afternoon. We’ll be back. Thanx Agga you are an asset to your employer. Xx

We gave this restaurant a try on a Friday night without reservation. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

All the staff were great. Aga, in particular, was extremely warm and welcoming . She made good recommendations and was very friendly and helpful during our visit. She took extra care with my elderly mother, even helping her out to the car after our visit. The food was hot and plentiful. Thank you Sambuca - look after Aga as well as she looks after your customers and you’ll continue to thrive!

The food was delicious, but what made our day even more special was the lovely young lady Aga who made my mams day even more (massive thank you Aga, 🙏!.. never change, you are a lovely, caring sweetheart & we can not thank you enough for making mams day) Aga served us with a smile, making us all feel very welcome (every restaurant needs an Aga!) Allocated a table for 3, sat down with great expectations, ordered two grilled steaks, one well done the other medium rare, well done steak was almost inedible, very dry and crumbley, the other nice and juicy but very little flavour and chewy. Our child enjoyed her pizza, service was minimal, restaurant decor very tacky, very disappointing, when asked at the end of the meal we told the server it was okay

Went out for an anniversary meal with my husband on Monday, from the moment we walked in we felt very welcomed and looked after. The waitress Aga was very professional informed and kind, she made our meal even better. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect. We will definitely be returning, big shout out to Aga thank you for making it more special for us.

We have been a couple of times now to Sambuca and always had good food and good service. Staff are friendly and attentive. Small complaint, more chilli on your Lucifera pizza please :)

All I can say is that if the service in the restaurant is a quarter as good as my experience with one of their staff today then it will be mind blowing. I blew a tyre on the A19 earlier tonight and was struggling to get help from RAc even though I was not in a safe place. A Good Samaritan pulled over, changed my tyre and would accept no payment. He works at Sambuca Seaham. I can’t get over his genuine kindness. Thank you x

Have never had a bad meal from here, lovely food, friendly staff, and reasonably priced too.

My husband ordered the ribeye, was cold and chewy. My meal was delicious. The manager seemed annoyed we were there and told us we only had an hour and 10 min to eat our meal and we needed to leave. The bartender was great, she helped us more than our server/manager.

First time here and impressed. Food was lovely, piping hot great portion size for the price. Two starters two mains two drinks under £50 good value. Staff excellent and attentive. Card machine not working, posters up and told verbally on arrival. Could not fault it.

I've eaten at a few different Sambuca restaurants in the past, but I'd be thinking twice before my next visit, after a driver in a Sambuca Seaham van drove very dangerously and aggressively behind me on the A19, tailgating and flashing me, putting me and other road users at risk. Not a great advertisement for a supposed family-friendly restaurant. Family friendly when they're taking your money, perhaps, but happy to endanger your family when they're not 👍

Absolutely brilliant, lovely food, good choice of drinks. Real value for money: I wish I went here for our anniversary instead of another place along the front. I'll be going here again in the future. 10/10

Great staff Good prices Lovely food

Got a Sunday roast delivered last week, it's some of the worst food I ever had. The Yorkshires were burnt, everything else was cold and the mashed potato was slimy and had a disgusting rancid taste.

Tiffany, the lady who manages the bar, is a friendly lass with a lot of personality! Thanks for the Double Tiny Water, Tiff! David, the Hungarian waiter, is quite an amiable chap! He knows his drinks as well! Salvo, the Sicilian chef, cooks the culinary equivalent of Maria Grazia Cucinotta swimming naked in the Mediterranean Sea! Full marks for his cooking!

We were a family party of 7 plus lovely toddler on Sunday 12th Feb. What a fantastic place,good varied menu and service from David could not be faulted,he went above and beyond I have to say,even noticed our little man was eating with Mamas fork and supplied him with his own little set,,which he was delighted with! The whole experience was wonderful..we all live as far as Edinburgh apart so when we get together a few times a year in Seaham it's a big treat for us!!We had been struggling to find a place like this over the last cple of years,it will be our 'Go to' place now for sure,so look out Sambucca as the saying goes WE 'LL BE BACK!! And obviously a huge thank you to the chef!! Only 1 criticism that the portions are huge,next time a cple of us would ask for a smaller portion to prevent wastage.Thank you again Sambucca ( sorry the review is late!) Denise.

Ignore the decor.... this is a genuine find that deserves real recognition, the food is truly outstanding and the service fantastic. Fresh home made Italian cooking at its best - highly recommended!

Very disappointing meal, my steak was no way a rib eye more like a small cheap tough cut and my friend's belly pork was very dry!! Staff nice and friendly

Really lovely little find. It doesn't look much from the outside, but it's such a nice cosy, friendly, place. The staff were really welcoming and helpful. The decor is cosy. The food was superb!! I had Jambaylaya Risotto which was beautiful and my wife had Roast Salmon with creamy mustard and baby prawn sauce. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First time in this restaurant, though have been to others in the group. Staff were pleasant and food tasty. Drinks were not too dear too.

We were in Sambuca on Thursday night it was nice and warm the staff are vey friendly the food is always great especially the home made chocolate brownie . We will be back Happy Christmas to all the staff

Superb. The food was delicious. Went for the early bird 3 course menu. Soup was delicious, seafood pasta had plenty of seafood in it, pizza was great & decent portion sizes too. Don't know how they make any profit at these prices but the food was great & staff are helpful & friendly. Always had great meals here so far, definitely recommend thanks

Called up to book a table wh I was trying to ask the person I was speaking to about the specials they had on but said I couldn't hear me very well so hung up on me! Very rude will give this place miss!

Here for a family occasion meal. The food was ok (but only ok, I've had way better). The service... One of the rudest people I've ever come across. All attitude. I've worked in hospitality for 25+ years and if this guy (manager? Head waiter?) Was one of my staff, I'd sack him. Face pulling, over exaggerated huffing and puffing, poor way of dealing with a wrong order and definitely should be wary of how he speaks about customers when they're in ear shot. First time here, will absolutely definitely be the last.

We were disappointed that the online menu was different to the restaurant menu when we arrived reducing the options considerably. The staff were under trained and the music to loud for conversation to happen. We had chicken, we expected breast but got bones, never had a Kiev with bones before, found it odd, the food was OK but italian is usually a bit tastier, it was bland, missing garlic, the garlic bread with cheese was tasteless, the Kiev was also garlic free, quite disappointed really

We had the Sunday lunch and it was amazing really good value for the money, staff were very friendly I would recommend a visit because we will definitely be back

Madison, Tiffany, Mantas absolutely amazing staff and very polite, kept checking up on us and making sure we are alright. The food was lovely and amazing big portions for only £5.95 for a three course meal which includes starter, main and filter coffee or ice cream. Potato skins is highly recommended as is the filter coffee it's beautiful. My main was the four seasons pizza not greasy and excellent taste. Struggled with the last slice. My partner had Veggie Carbonara, and it was creamy, flavourful and hearty, devine and filling. I can say 100% that I will definitely be returning here in future amazing prices and staff. Lovely little restaurant it is perfect to go for a nice time and low costs. Thanks again to the staff and the cooks food and customer service were fantastic. Edit: 15/07/2022 food was amazing yet again the starter lunch menu was fantastic and the staff helpful and pleasant. Bruschetta starter is well worth it with or without olives I felt curious so I tried it with and it was delicious marina pasta the seafood was fabulous. And as always a wonderful filter coffee to finish with. An especially big thank you to Peter, Keisha and Tiffany who served us. Peter is an absolute legend so polite.

Don't do it!! We arrived and couldn't even see through the windows they were so dirty! There was some old sacking hung in them too. The inside wasn't much better, but we had booked and didn't want to be rude. I sent my food back as my steak was raw and cold inside. The madera sauce was gravy and the crouton was a slice of bread. My seasonal veg, was grey mash potatoes and frozen veg. Over priced rubbish.

Absolutely love this place , OMG if you are a chocolate lover , Try the choc fudge cake . Lovely cosy place , service 1st class , very friendly . Parking is a little tricky tho which can be disadvantage to disabled customer's.
