Unfortunately did not have a great experience here due to mistakes that could have been avoided, we booked a table for a work celebration there was about 20 of us, we preordered based off the menu online. I had preordered penne marinara from their online menu, as I am from England I understood that this was just a tomato pasta sauce, and there is nothing on their online menu to suggest marinara is seafood, however I received a penne pasta with tomato sauce and seafood. My sister is allergic to seafood and I donāt eat it to keep her safe. I told them I didnāt order seafood penne, he became angry and shouted at me that I did, I asked to see the menu when he showed me, thatās when we all realised their online menu is different to the one in the restaurant, he brought me a menu to say marinara is seafood, but this is not mentioned on the online menu we used when we preordered, and unfortunately being English and not being Italian, marinara in England is just tomato garlic sauce not seafood like it is in Italy, my fault for not knowing marinara means seafood in Italian but the manager or owner who was serving us just began shouting at me. A female waitress apologised and moved him away from me and brought me just a tomato penne pasta said sorry again and understood what had happened and fixed the issue without an issue, clearly a mistake on both parts. After Iād eaten it the angry manager came over and asked me how my seafood pasta was sarcastically. 3 or 4 of us preordered the online menu tomato garlic bread to start, and one of us ordered a tomato garlic bread for their main. But when it arrived in the restaurant it was a plain garlic pizza bread, as their menu in their restaurant is different to the one online and doesnāt include tomato. Also despite pre ordering two of the starters were missing and had to be chased up 10 mins or so after we had all eaten our starters and the same happened again for our mains, two were missing and a side of chips which we had to chase up. We spent about Ā£582 and just didnāt feel we had a good experience despite pre ordering and we even brought our pre order on a document with us to make sure we were organised when we got there. Food was excellent however and we had a good time. Just a shame to be shouted at in a restaurant by the manager at what clearly was a genuine mistake, as I donāt speak Italian.

We visited for our dads birthday meal. First timers and wow weāll be back. What a fabulous evening. We had starters, mains and desserts; variety of pizzas, pasta dishes and sweet treats. The food was really tasty and plentiful. Staff were great, atmosphere was lovely and the bonus of entertainment for a magician topped off the night. Canāt wait for our next visit.

Luckily for us we swerved the Premier Inn next door and booked here at Al Bivio Top service and food and a lovely venue with atmosphere and warmth. The staff were so welcoming, the service was exceptional and the food was amazing at a very reasonable price. Met at the door, asked if wanted to hang out coats, seen straight to our table, very attentive staff with a smiles and a genuine warmth. Would definitely recommend 100% and will return when next in the area

We had quite a mixed experience at Al Bivio, where we had to eat as the neighbouring Premier Inn had made a hash of their evening meal provision. We went on two occasions: an excellent pizza, with a generous home-made base, and a delicious pasta dish with chicken and white wine. However, from the Specials lists, a lasagne was quite tough, and my seafood risotto over-salty, though I would add that it was generously filled. A pet theme of mine: this restaurant is NOISY! Not one single absorbent surface anywhere, just a bare glass frontage and plain walls that reflect sound. Having a conversation in here feels like hard work.

Second visit after such nice meals the first time, I chose the carbonara as I had this on the first visit and really enjoyed . This time it was completely tasteless. My wife and daughters meals were very salty and my granddaughterās spaghetti bolognaise was nothing like a bolognaise with hard carrots and crunchy celery! My granddaughter has a severe food allergy and we are always worried about eating out but as we had eaten here before, and she hadnāt been poorly we were happy that she would be safe. There was nothing suitable for her in the starters section so she chose to have a dessert instead as part of the set meal. Half way through she alerted me to the fact that she had a small piece of plastic in her sorbet. I was a little bit horrified but didnāt say anything and thought,,, these things can happen. After a couple more spoonfuls and a larger piece of plastic I told the waiter and he took it off me and apologised saying it must have been from the sorbet container. No gesture of goodwill offered, not that we would necessarily have accepted but not good service and certainly WONT be going back!

EāLupos is a lovely little Italian spot in Rotherham; it's really cosy with super friendly staff. The menu is huge, so thereās something for everyone. Itās not the cheapest place, but the food is absolutely worth it. We had a great night, and the free garlic bread was a nice bonus!
