Went here for dinner last night and I have to say we were blown away. The place has been recently refurbished and it's the last word, I would have been happy enough to eat my meal in the bathroom it was so clean. The staff were very professional and there attention to detail first class. I ordered the turkey and ham and I believe it had just won an award I can see why it was unbelievable. If u have not had a chance to visit, I would strongly recommend you do. Keep doing what your doing guys. 👏

Exceptional boutique hotel located at the seafront with a beautiful view. Probably the best boutique hotel in Northern Ireland. Staff couldn't do enough for the guests. Food was better than many quality restaurants I've been to, with an interesting menu. Drinks were served at high quality too. Details in the room were the best I've seen. From the towels, the bed, the chocolates. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Not just worth staying at when in Portrush but a worthy reason to visit Portrush.

Disappointing Experience – “The Chicken Stack” Should’ve Stayed Stacked Only thing I genuinely enjoyed was the onion rings. Chicken goujons? Passable. The main – The Chicken Stack – was underwhelming and arrived late, minus the sauce. When the pepper sauce did turn up, it was more pepper water than anything else. Located on the edge of an industrial estate, you’d expect greasy spoon vibes – low-cost, hearty stick-to-your-ribs grub. Instead, there was an overambitious menu with missing items (no ribs, ironically), slow service, and food that lacked seasoning. My chicken breast was just pan-fried, unseasoned, and still had the tendon (pectoralis minor) left in. Just… no. The place has a thrown-together feel – painted breeze blocks, random decor, and nothing cohesive. The stacked chicken looked lost on the plate with no sides included. For the price? Not worth it. Tip to the owners: Simplify the menu, trim the walls (not just the chicken), and drop the “Restaurant” label. Call it a café and manage expectations better. Wouldn’t return.

One of my 'go to' places for years and we were very underwhelmed. It'susually packed (especially on a Saturday night) and has a great vibe but there was no atmosphere. The menu wasn't great and the food was bland overall. Waiting staff mixed up drinks orders (there were only 3 of us) and one of the main courses. We won't be rushing back.

We went to the Merchant Hotel for a pre dinner birthday drink as a treat around 4.30pm our dinner was booked for 5.15pm. Our table had the reminants of the previous party, empty glasses and half eaten nibbles. A waiter came and took our order but didn't bother to clear or clean the table. He then took an order for a couple beside us. The couple beside us were swiftly served a pot of tea with nibbles and glasses of water. At 5.05pm I went to the bar area and advised we haven't received our order and we were ready to leave. The drinks arrived at 5.10pm delivered to the drink stained table which we literally had to drink in one go as we were going to be late for our meal and over £30 worse off! Lots of suited staff walking back and forwards looking important but not really doing very much. Maybe when you see customers looking around for assistance you might want to try and help. Service appalling for a Saturday afternoon, dread to think what the evening service is like! Disappointing start to a birthday celebration.

Visited Grant's tonight for dinner. 4 Boston beef consisting of two 4oz fillet steaks, champ pepper sauce and house gravy, and tobacco onions cooked perfectly. A very flavoursome beef stroganoff and I had the goats cheese starter and it was amazing,a sensation of flavours in your mouth. Sides of salt and chips and ordinary chips ordered and veg and another chip were complimentary. We then couldn't resist dessert even though we were quite full up. The crème brulé was to die for, perfect topping breaking to shreds when you knocked it with the spoon and under a smooth, creamy vanilla custard, served with strawberry and blueberry and a portion of fresh cream. A cheese cake and a sundae went down very well too. Our friendly waiter Ryan made sure everyone was happy with their food, had a friendly chat and kept the drinks flowing, what more could you want. Thank you for a lovely evening
