The Hill Restaurant in Limavady

Give 1 for the chips. The freshly battered cod was probably the worst we’ve ever encountered. I have my doubts about the freshly battered description and very doubtful if the fish was cod There was a gooey layer on the inside of the batter and the fish itself was soft and mushy - no nice flakes of cod.Took the fish back and all I got was a “very sorry”from the young attendant. £12.50 for a portion of chips. Won’t be back.

Great food Great service and not overly priced

Really nice good and great staff. Little outside town which I think affects it but if your driving don't miss it. Try it you will enjoy it

Called here today for Sunday lunch after a recommendation and boy was a not disappointed. We had the carvery and it was fantastic the most tender beef I had ever eaten, gammon and turkey was super tasty. It was so busy and I now know why definitely worth a visit.

Having eaten here many times, it is always lovely, and it has a real good choice on the menu. All are at great prices and brilliant portions . it's a hidden gem in the limavady area.

What a delicious brunch my husband and I have had today at The Hill restaurant Limavady..I had a tasty vegetarian breakfast and my husband also had a meat breakfast..I would definitely recommend this place, very pleasant staff and surroundings..I absolutely loved the soda..😋

The 3 course menu for £15 is excellent value for money a great selection. Food was delicious!!!! Portion were very generous. The service was great. I would highly recommend this place for it's delicious and varied food. Cooked by professional chefs. It is by far the best food to eat in and take out, in Limavady. It also offer outside catering for receptions buffets funerals ect. Any occasion they are more than happy to provide a quality and great value service.

There were seven of us dining at lunch time. Staff were all very friendly. I had the chicken caesar salad which was absolutely delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals. A great place to eat…highly recommend.

We've eaten in this restaurant a few times now when we're up in the North West and always find the food top notch and the staff very welcoming and friendly. The food is piping hot (apart from the salad)and tasty. You'll go far to find a better restaurant in the area.

I have been to this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. I was there for Father's Day with 9 other family members the food was amazing and the portion sizes are huge. The three course meal from 4pm is £15 and well worth it. The owner is a very jolly fellow and always greets me and thanks me for coming.

Bit slow but it was father's day, food was excellent and the portions are huge, will definitely be returning soon, staff were great, highly recommend! Try the COD, it's massive, Ribs really nice, Fillet Steak excellent, oh and the onion rings are huge and fresh.

We were driving past and seen the advertisement, so decided to call in ,we both had the 3 course meal for the 15 pound (great value for the money) we were both happy with our meals ,the service was excellent, the owner came out to talk to all the customers in the restaurant to see if everyone was happy with what they got ,very pleasant man ,would definitely recommend The Hill

Mega find! We spotted The Hill as we were passing and saw they did a carvery, we hadn’t booked but they fitted us in no problem even though they were very busy. Food was great, fresh and quickly served. We’ll definitely be back on our next trip!

I called up on Saturday for a brunch, this time I chose soup of the day which was vegetable, it was nicely whizzed up in a liquidiser. With the soup I had 2 slices of homemade wheaten, also a half strength decaf cappuccino. Service as usual with a smile, I like how the staff come and check everything is pleasing. I find The Hill to be a friendly place to dine in. If I had to pick a negative, it would be the time to get the order on the table. However I don't let that stop me from going back 🤩 the person I was with had the breakfast.

Imagine going to a cafe whose coffee machine had broken a few days before our visit, and still wasn't fixed or replaced? We had water with our breakfast!

Had lunch here today, and couldn't fault it, delicious. I had the steak and was cooked perfectly to my liking, one of my girls had pasta and the other goujons and garlic fries, no complaint at all. Will definitely be back. Lovely staff too.

We have been going to this restaurant now for a couple of mouths and I can happily say that myself and my family have never had a bad meal yet and I would go as far as too say that it's the best food in the whole county. The chief in my opinion should have a Michelin star he is one of the nicest man you could meet and his staff are excellent and very friendly and welcoming and nothing is a bother to them. So do yourself a favor and call in at the Hill Restaurant and believe me you will not be disappointed.

I have been to this place a couple of times for lunch and have rated it very average however it is a large room and is suitbale for young kids. However this time was the worst experience to date. We sat with four young kids and had to call waitress to order for after 20mins, then waited another hour for everyone's food....people got other orders before us. When food came out the creamy chicken pasta was incredibly bland (not eatable in my opinion) and one the kids burger had a funny taste. Doubtful we will be back.

Was just OK. Waitress was extremely efficient, but food took a half hour. Fish was overcooked, mushy peas were luke warm as were the salt chilli chicken. Not inedible, just not great. Will call again though, give it another chance. At £18 incl tea for 2 was just dear enough. Would like to try the steak, that will be the real test.

What a hole of a place. The chips were bland, the gravy was the next thing to water and the chicken felt like I was eating a tire. And that’s just the food. Floor was very dirty, the place is full of weins and they don’t even have salt shakers. Sachets of salt and vinegar. I’ve ate out of deli counters better. Bad feed 1*.

This is a gem of a place it was my first time in it but I guarantee that it won't be my last. The food was of the highest standard and very beautifully presented and the staff were very pleasant and attentive I could not have asked for anything better. The chef knows how to cook and his food is 5***** and to my mind he should have an award for it. Do yourself a favor and call into The Hill Restaurant you won't regret it.

Excellent food just be prepared to wait for it

Have passed this restaurant quite a few times without calling in, but I'm glad we have now. The waitress was very nice and pleasant that took our order. Our food was very good and reasonably priced ( the 10 ounce sirloin steak with a bowl of chips, tobacco onions and pepper sauce was only £15 ) . Our group had 3 adults and 3 kids and all the portion sizes was good and the food was piping hot. The owner of the restaurant even took the time to come to the table to ask if everything was fine. We have now been twice and will be calling many more times.

Second time visiting this restaurant and we've enjoyed both meals. Good variety and decent portion sizes. Kids menu also available.

1. 45 minute wait for food to arrive at table, with not so much as a 'sorry for the delay'. 2. Out of date bottle of Coke Zero. 3. Approx 10 chips in the adult portion of cod and chips. 4. Cod was slimy. 5. All day breakfast arrived with 2 X slices of dry toast as a replacement for soda bread. All in all an extremely disappointing lunch. 4 adult meals purchased and not one of us enjoyed the food. In comparison to other local food establishments, this place doesn't compare. Won't be back and won't recommend.

Went here to celebrate my Grandas 80th birthday and can't recommend the place enough! The staff were brilliant, and so was the food! They even made a special vegan meal for 2 people in the group which was DELICIOUS!! Will definitely be back again! Thanks again to all the staff, and especially Ranga!

Good food at reasonable prices.

Kids meal had about 5 chips in it and the grease could fill a pint glass, creamy chicken pasta was more like watery sauce with chicken and overcooked pasta...there's better places nearby with better prices, definitely won't be back

I travelled 50 miles for the chicken curry … and well worth it. It is just amazing and the restaurant is wonderful with fantastic staff. Will return soon (for the curry)

Just had late lunch here with family. The service is excellent and the food was delicious. I had the Honey Mustard chicken burger which was dressed with thick back bacon and homemade coleslaw, lasagne had homemade coleslaw both with chips (frys). The third dush was cock and bull chicken escalope and steak which were cooked perfectly. The coleslaw was made here with red and white cabbage and carrot we loved it. This place is on the Windyhill Road outside Limavady we'll worth a visit.

Rocked up to this place starving after exploring all day. First impressions, disappointing, it had the feel of a truck stop. Almost thought I was in the film...from dusk till dawn. Lol one toilet...with shower beside it, still wet??!! Eclectic mix of tat decor...HOWEVER, the food was bloody great.😁 Tasty, well presented and cooked to perfection. Had the beef and bird. Gobsmacked at how tasty and reasonable it was priced(£12). Wee gastro gem but defo no restaurant for ambience. Staff were brilliant too. If you want a great feed go here and you won't be disappointed.

Had 2 coffees a coconut and raspberry slice and a carrot cake. £12. Ridiculous price. Coffee bars around the north coast don't charge this. Will not be back.

Just had a lovely Sunday Dinner with the family to celebrate Father’s Day. More than enough food and very reasonably priced. Friendly , helpful staff. Had even enough to take a doggy bag home for Max & Ruby my 2 dogs. Would recommend anyone to drop by.Staff couldn’t do enough to help us.

Visited here with my step father, food was fantastic, reasonably priced, decent portions, fast and friendly service. The place was quiet which I found surprising as I would Highly recommend eating here

We had a delicious Pizza from the Hill tonight. It was freshly made with good quality ingredients. Such a treat, we will definitely be going here again.

My son told us that this place had opened, not sure when exactly but recently. We went here for breakfast / lunch on Saturday past. Went with grown-up daughter and our granddaughter (14 months). Wasn't too busy at 12ish on Sat which was good so service was fast. There are lots of tables and an ooen area by windows and an area towards the back which is more secluded. The lady who served us was very friendly and helpful and welcoming. Had omelette and Fry and Eggs benedict. They make their own sodabread which was a lovely twist on the eggs benedict with a choice of bacon or ham. Have tried all the places around Limavady / Coleraine for breakfast / lunch and this is one of the best. Try it out

Average food, be careful what you order. If you order certain sides the chef may change them without your permission. The hygiene standards are very low also, bathrooms stink

Called whilst passing, fancied a lite bite. Very pleasantly surprised by my chicken sandwich. Very substantial and very tasty. Nice decor with friendly attentive staff. Will definitely return next time I'm up that way.
