This was the first time we tried this takeaway. Sadly it was a disappointment. We thought we would give it a try as we try to support local businesses. The meal was ready on time which was positive. The meal itself was more like a soup rather than a curry, infact it was like an uncle Ben's. Not the Indian food we are used too, perhaps it the chef is from a different region. Sorry but I can not recommend.

Sensational. Had the railway curry, menu has it with lamb but waiter offered (as I don't like lamb) to have it with chicken. It was off the scale delicious. I have had hundreds of curries over the years but this is amongst the best ever. Rest of the meal was superb too. Chicken tikka starter was excellent too. Get yourself there!

The restaurant catered for my daughter’s 18th birthday party . Everyone who came commented on how amazing the food was . Absolutely brilliant , and Refa and Naz were so accommodating and helpful , can’t thank them enough . Would definitely recommend a visit !

This is quite a difficult review to write because we’ve had many excellent takeaways from Saffron. Ultimately a recent, fourth, utterly terrible meal has proved to be the motivator for me to write this review. The onion bhajis were so dry, I would go so far as to say that they’d been made the day before and then ‘warmed up a bit’. They were pretty much inedible. Just hard lumps that, after much effort - and a sore jaw from the effort - eventually became horribly chewy. The mains of vegetable Dhansak and mushroom Bhaji were so terribly bland. Almost no flavour, other than a hint of pepper in the background and a weird, oily aftertaste which left us all feeling a little nauseous. As I say above, this is the fourth time we’ve had absolutely terrible food from Saffron, and such rancid concoctions probably account for 30% of the food we’ve had from them. As I’m sure you’ll appreciate, even when the food has been good, the ‘Russian Roulette’ of opening your food containers and not knowing whether it’s going to be (a) a winner or (b) a bin-er (it’s never somewhere in between) is really not worth the hassle. So, we won’t be using Saffron anymore. Time to take our chances with the various other Indian takeaways in the area and leave their unpredictable (and expensive) food to others.

Great food, accommodating & friendly staff and good portion sizes. Only thing I’d say is that it’s quite a small place and can get very loud with people in there so not always able to hear eachother too well but that’s probably dependent on who’s in there and how busy it is. Overall I’d definitely go back and the food was 10/10

we have ordered from RC on many occations, Saturday 26th April ordered a chickedn tikka dansak and a Chicken tikka jelfrazi, picked up 20 mins, fine, both dishes were so hot with chilli that it was impossible to eat, I thought I had ordered Vindaloo by mistake. No Chef could possibly make that much of a mistake and used that amount of chilli, the Jalfrazi was the worst, so much chilli oil I wanted to phone up to complain but I was to upset I was angry and would have said some harsh words that I would regret. This used to have a good cook and reputation but where are they now.! spoilt our dinner. RP
