Outstanding environment and food

Was out and about in the area and fancied a nice curry, we searched up and found this place and decided to give it a go, and we were so glad we did. There was 4 of us and we all enjoyed our meal very much. Some places I have been before can be very oily ,but I must say this indian was spot on, not overly oily and full of flavour and freshness. The meat in my curry was perfectly tender and everything was spot on. Very very good quality food, good service and clean and friendly atmosphere. I would highly recommend taking a visit, there is paid parking nearby and a note to remember is that you can take your own alcohol as they do not serve this. Only con I would say is that they charge on the menu for tap water £1, I think this is unreasonable and should be provided free of charge to paying customers.

The best Korma, pilau rice, keema naan and saag aloo I've ever had. And the best bit-the wonderful staff all speak Welsh! Ardderchog! The only criticism I have is that they don't do dessert..other than that, perffaith 👌

Another lovely takeaway tonight. The lamb pathia was delicious, very tender too.Staff very friendly helpful. Will have to eat in the restaurant sometime. It was full when I arrived to pick up my food so that's a good sign

Oh my goodness. The food is amazing! I had wanted the vindaloo but was persuaded by staff to try the naga chicken instead and wow it was amazing. Absolutely delicious. Their peshwari naan is out of this world and definitely the best I have ever had. Definitely recommend the mango lassi too! Staff are also so lovely and so friendly!

Had a Vindaloo that was plain, flavourless, and somehow wasn't spicy at all.

The takeaway was about 15-20 minutes late coming out, and the Mrs had a bit of rubber in hers, and my peshwari nan was far too sweet, and I like it sweet so it was quite a shock. Staff were friendly though and the rest of the meal was good, the ordering on the website was good, you can pay by card with a card fee, and there's a good range of dishes too. Worked out about £17 each with nan each and sharing bhaji and rice. They have won awards recently but our experience was very mixed unfortunately.

Had a great meal here. Authentic Indian dishes. Is a bit more expensive than average curry restaurants, but the quality is also above average.

Cracking restaurant in the centre of Caernarfon. Its BYO, so get your drinks from the local convenience store before arriving. You know its good as soon as you open the door, as its full of delicious smells. The food and service are both first class, and its really good value for money. We were a party of 8 and all delighted with our experience. All in all, highly recommended

This was an amazing restaurant with excellent service, a great atmosphere, and very friendly staff. The food tasted great and very good medium portions just right, would highly recommend them if your in the area.

Unlicenced restaurant so only given 4 stars. Atmosphere only 3 as it was a very quiet mid-week out of season evening. Food delicious, lots of choice, both traditional menu items and specials. Great service, very friendly and welcoming. Chilli chutney was amazing!

A fabulous restaurant, great food, I recommend the Kalia if you like a hot tasty curry. Service is fantastic, very friendly and kept us laughing.

Excellent Indian restaurant which serves delicious food. Our waiter was very engaging and we enjoyed his sense of humor. Before you go, bear in mind that the restaurant serves no alcohol so you need to bring your own. Not a problem but good to know beforehand. However, there's a shop just down the road which serves alcohol.

We went 30 minutes out our way coming back from a local attraction to grab a takeaway from these guys as the reviews where amongst the highest for Indian food in the area we were staying in. Parking isn't great, and we went in to be told they only take cash! Who doesn't take cards nowadays? Your not the cheapest anyway so I think absorbing a small card charge would be to your advantage, they then directed us to a cashpoint, "literally round the corner" but we didn't find that from his directions but we did find more takeaways that did take cards so another lost sale for you.

Amazing Indian restaurant. Food brilliant apart from 1 dish we had Chicken Tandoori Tikka Masala which was very sweet and had coconut in it which we have never had before. Every else perfect. Very clean. Staff went out of their way to be welcoming and gave advice without being pushy. Fahir was friendly and went above and beyond to assist us. We went back 3 nights later and Fahir remembered us and was exactly the same as before. Very steady flow for eating in and take away. Highly recommend

Very clean. Nice décor. Good menu . Service was perfect. I spoke in English to my shame. The staff spoke perfect local Welsh as I am first language Welsh myself. This was a real good touch . I was so surprised. The food was perfect. I will be going back often. Really liked that the staff spoke real Welsh. One love

I am very happy to update my review. After a year or two since our last visit, im happy to report a big improvement. We went 2 mins after opening, so it lacked an atmosphere, but that's what happens at 5pm. It did get busier within an hour, and from what i could see, all food was coming out in reasonable times! The lady who greeted us was very polite and welcoming. The waiters were very attentive and helpful, Fahim, our waiter was lovely, he made a friend for life in our daughter whos only 2 who was disappointed whenever he left. The food all came when it should and was hot! A few years ago, the food was oily and disappointing, but this time, it was fantastic. Chef still likes his corriander, but that doesn't ruin the food. It doesn't have a license to serve booze, but you can take your own, which is nice. Stops you drinking too much! Be handy to have a customer fridge to store your beer! All in all, we had 2 courses, which more than filled us, so we took the rest home. Definitely give the place a visit!

Had a great meal here last night, they were able to accommodate us at last minute which was our gain. The food was very good not a bad meal or complaint amongst any of us. The staff was excellent the young guy who waited on us was very funny and could have a laugh with. This is a dry restaurant but allows you to take alcohol in if you wish. One thing that I have not had before was the chilly pickle in the pickle tray array which was tasty

Nice cosy place. Excellent food, some of my favourite indian food yet and the staff adds to the great atmosphere. Highly recommended the balti. Competitive price considering you can bring your own alcoholic drinks.

Great food, super friendly customer service. I highly recommend the Kalia dish and some chicken tikka as a starter. Maybe with some delicious papadoms and chutney as well. The garlic nan is perfect as well.

Visiting Wales for a week, thought to order in one evening. Delicious food, big portions, they sent us extra poppodoms and salad. The delivery person was very nice as well!

My parents wanted a curry and they have lived in South east Asia for a life time. So they tasked me and I did a trusty Google maps search, this one came up with good reviews and there is a good reason, very good service, food portions good, the curry was very tasty the rice with lamb dish was big and filled with meat which impressed me. The naan breads were fresh and delicious so much so we ordered another one. The daal was tasty, spinach vegetable curry was very nice. I ordered the tandoori mixed grill which was lovely the onions were delicious. At first we had a plain rice which they kept and we said take it back but we will still pay for it. In the end they took it off the bill. They did charge for tap water 2 quid... Meh still the food impressed us and we have been to India and many a curry house. I highly recommend here. The staff was friendly. The ambience was good. Now regarding food, egg fried rice was good, vegetable curry as well. Mixed kebab platter was not enjoyable. Lot of color in it and the mutton skew was so hard. Bascially was not able to eat and left it. Chicken biriyani was reasonable and after washing my hand. I found my hands, teeth and lip was yellow stained. They are using colors to the food but to extend that it is visible even after washing. Finally the garlic naan was good.

We enjoyed our meal here as a group of 4. Everyone thought their food was excellent. Tasty food, excellent portion sizes and top service from Fahim.

Me and the wife went on Saturday 10th December, booked a table for 6.30 (good decision as it was full, which is a good sign) The lad that served us was polite and friendly, gave us a glass for our beer (you have to take your own alcohol). Poppadoms with a pickle tray to start, then the wife had chicken tikka shaslick with jalfreizi sauce. I tried the 'kalia', after it was recommended by the waiter, both dishes were excellent. The young girl who cleared the table was lovely, as were all the staff. Next time we're in caernarfon, we will definitely return

Average at best , not friendly staff

Have to say had a very strange experience at this place. As soon as we sat down the 'owner' said "we can order only once". According to him he had had previous experiences with "Asian people coming in and ordering every two minutes creating chaos" which just sent very wrong vibes to begin with. We wanted to leave then and there but then all the other places were fully booked so we were not left with much choice. But when we later asked another waiter, he said he had never heard of such a rule which made all our faces drop - to hear of such blatant racism! Food was average at best, the rest of the staff seemed pleasant though.

Excellent restaurant even when extremely busy over the Bank Holiday weekend. We ate here twice and would highly recommend it for great food and friendly staff.

Not much choice for a decent sit in place around Caernarfon. This place looked appealing from the outside and the posters of TripAdvisor's recommendation gave me the impression it would be great. Have to say this is average at best. Portion sizes were tiny across all the dishes we ordered. First time I've ever been charged for tap water at any restaurant. Would suggest sticking to the takeout joints if you're looking for a half decent halal joint. Cafe 36 which is close by would be one to try as an alternative.

Worst Indian takeaway food I've ever had the misfortune of eating, ordered a variety of starters, everything looked like last week's left overs and I had to spit the food out of my mouth, went back to tell them how bad the food was and the response was "what do you want me to do about it' so not only is thier food inedible thier customer services is appalling, it's a poor show when an Indian resteraunt can't manage big standard everyday items Items to specificity to avoid Bombay aloo Onion bhaji Fried rice Pashwari naan Chips Masala sauce It is clear to see and taste that this resteraunts chefs have lost thier passion for food Avoid at all cost!!!!!!!!! Would have chose zero stars for this establishment if that was an option Victoria K.

Das beste indische Essen, dass ich je gegessen habe. Vom etwas zweifelhaften Innendekor darf man sich ja nicht aufhalten lassen. Wir sind den Empfehlungen des Chefs gefolgt, es entfaltete sich eine Geschmacksexplosion nach der anderen. Alles ist frisch, raffiniert, liebevoll. Eine unerwartete kulinarische Perle und hochwillkommene Abwechslung im walisischen Pub-Einerlei.

The main dishes are top quality, right up there with the best! We ate there on 30/05/22 and when we arrived, we liked the decor and general appearance of the restaurant. We ordered poppadoms, starters (chicken chat and mixed kebabs). These were very tasty and well seasoned. The mains in my opinion were the highlight. I ordered Korai and others ordered Peli peli and pathia. We would highly recommend all of these dishes as I had a taste of each one. Overall an excellent meal and good evening, recommended!

We visited here yesterday while staying in North Wales after climbing Snowdon. What a treat this place was! The staff were lovely, the food was delicious and there were plenty of vegetarian options. For starter I had onion bhajis, which were fresh and tasty, my partner had Shish kebabs which came out on a bed of onions on a sizzling plate, which looked and smelled delicious. For main I had the paneer pathia and can honestly say it was one of the nicest curries I've had! Plenty of paneer and packed full of flavours. We also had a Garlic Naan which was so fresh and tasty. Portion sizes were very good too. Will deffo visit again next time we're in Caernarfon. Da Iawn!

We were visiting Caernarfon from France with my partner and had dinner there once. The food was delicious… especially the naans!!! So fluffy, warm, perfect. The staff was extremely nice too. Would totally recommend!
