Staying in Colwyn Bay for a few days & decided to have an Indian takeaway. Food was delicious, fresh, hot & very tasty. We spent over £30 and couldn’t believe we got a full main meal free! We ordered chicken tikka & madras sauce, plenty of large juicy chicken pieces tasty sauce, great onion bahji’s fresh crispy popadoms, nice thick mango sauce, fresh chopped onion’s & delicious garlic & coriander Nan bread. High five to the Chef! Wish this place was our local takeaway in Wigan

Heard good things about this place so I ordered, mains were a nice portion and tasted really good but the naan and side orders were a bit naff, bang average Indian in my opinion

Was pretty disappointed in lots of things firstly. The prices were about 30% (£2 per meal even starters) dearer than on the website where I priced it all up compared to last time I went a month or so ago. I ordered chicken pakora but instead got 4 dried up breaded chicken mini fillets. And paid £4 for the privilege. They were inedible, the main courses were nice. And the staff were rushed off their feet tbf and that's why I gave 2 stars. I did message them but didn't get a reply

Friendly service and every single dish I've tried was excellent!

ordered a takeaway from here then later found it had a 2 star hygiene rating put me right off. sorry but whatever the excuse to have a 2 star rating when serving food is not acceptable (definition of a 2 star rating “major room for improvement when it comes to your organisations food hygiene practises”) that’s what the definition is and sorry not good enough!

High quality Indian food, must be one of the best around, owners very pleasant and polite. Great service AAA

This discreet Indian take away is an absolute gem. The food is beautifully cooked, fragrant and aromatic, letting the flavours of the dish dance on the tongue.....utterly delicious!

Amazing food and lovely people too. Best Indian food you will ever have. Open kitchen so you can see the food all being freshly prepared and its always amazing. It is underpriced as well, very good value compared with the other indian takeaways in North Wales yet it is much better quality!

As a long standing customer of AMK, I have to say that the meals here are superb. My chicken tikka dansak was perfect. Plenty of chicken, not too much sauce, perfectly spiced. The garlic chilli chicken is always a winner too. Just can't fault this place. Abdul and co are so friendly and welcoming. I love this place, by far the best in the local area. Half price on a Sunday when you order your meal with rice or naan bread, what's not to love. Thank you AMK for another delicious meal. Can highly recommend for tasty food at good prices.

we used amk indian takeaway at colwyn height over years. we found food is always nice and hygeine level is highest standards. some competitor, indian takeaway owner,in the colwyn bay area, wrote melicious review about amk takeaway.

In December I know need to lose a bit of weight and was planning on starting in January so tonight I am having a cheeky treat of Indian. My favourites are closed as they must be having a rest after being so busy in 2019 or perhaps keeping the kitchen clean to maintain their 5 star ratings. Ok, so I didn't have a good experience last time but I know AMK has a varied menu and it is surprisingly cheap. Just how do they make this dishes so cheap? Hope its not at the cost of cleanliness or quality of ingredients? Know its not quantity as last time the portions were massive. So I give it another chance and as soon as I approach I can see the place is sticky. I place my order from that extensive board and know service will be quick as place was deserted with guy who warms the food just scratching his head. I start to check my phone to see what hygiene rating is. Oh no. Its a 2. I cancel my order. Looks like the diet has started early

We have been trying a few different local Indian takeaways recently as our favourite has recently closed down. I can now say this will be our go to Indian. The best Balti and Patia we have ever had. Only downside is they dont deliver. Other than that 5*

We use this take away twice a month and sometimes on a Sunday. The menu is good and you can ask for something thats not on there and they will accommodate you. What I have found, sadly. On a Sunday its half price for the main meal if you buy rice etc. But you only get half the amount of meat in the dish compared to during the week. It's still lovely. But, as a family of 5 who like to share all our dishes we find we're unable. But, on the whole a very lovely friendly take away.

Absolutely disgraceful. Give me wrong order and made me drive miles back home. And when I did ring up and tell them about the wrong order they lied and said they left me a voicemail which I found strange because they didn't take a mobile number off me and jst said they give me food next time, which was no good because I didn't even like wt they had given me. Complete waste of money straight into the bin....

Sorry, can't agree with these reviews. Ordered chicken passanda & chicken moglai from chefs specials. They were both the same!!! When I phoned to query an incorrect order I was told they were very similar dishes. Similar? They were identical, and very uninteresting. The veg. Samosas were rather tasteless and the paratha was inedible - thin doughy tasteless and inedible. Also if you price your order from the website be prepared for a surprise when you come to pay as in house prices are higher. My bill was some £2.50 more than expected. I give 1 star as I was offered a replacement meal, but it was too late then.

This is a very good quality indian takeway, the garlic chilli chicken is the best around go for it. Good menu choice and half price on Sundays.

Veg Food was good; mild spicy and tasty. Moreover the staff is friendly. Be nice and enjoy couple of free bies. My friends who had non veg there; rates the food even higher to 5 star.

This was the best Indian in Colwyn Bay Area,that was until the owners opened another restaurant in Colwyn bay ,they now run the the clock house restaurant and the food is equally as superb,the food in both of these places is second to none,and the staff and owners are top people,I would recommend either of these places for food,but the clock house is a takeaway/restaurant and the AMK is just a takeaway but the food from either is lovely,

stopped again in room ten, which was ten out of ten. such a spaces room very romantic. hospitality was outstanding has usual. if you want such a lovely place to stop with a wonderful English breakfast, or what ever you want don't look any further.

Abdul utilizada para el reloj en Colwyn Bay y yo frecuentaba que hace décadas. vendió y desarrollado esta comida magnífica tienda Bangladesh y que al mismo tiempo un nombre para sí mismo en la política local. se obtiene una excelente comida a precios razonables. Me dan a menudo el domingo cena de esta comida para llevar.

Would definitely go back great food

Our first takeaway from AMK, it arrived in time and was still hot. Flavours were very balanced, the whole meal was worth the money we paid. We will use this takeaway in the future.

Just had a lovely Chicken Madras, Korma and Tikka Masala. The food was excellent, the value for money was outstanding, the service was perfect, right from the lady who helped me on the phone, through to the chef who prepared the ingredients I had asked for. Thank you all. Can't wait to come back.

The location is great as it is the centre of the Upper Colwyn Bay community so no need to trek down to Colwyn Bay. It is also convenient to the Pen y Bryn pub and local shop. The food is great quality and is cooked before your eyes so you can chat with the staff as they prepare fresh meals. There is no mystery to the hygiene you can see it being prepared. The value is fantastic and the owner Abdul and his wife are always helpful. They are part of Colwyn Bay life.

Try it ! You won't be disappointed best Indian takeaway in the area .even when busy service is excellent and the owner Abdul is a fantastic guy , they know their food here..

I used AMK regularly when I lived in the Heights...it was ok...had a jalftezi from there that was so salty that I couldnt eat it. The nan breads I also found to be regularly undercooked. Bur I also had some great meaks from there. A bit hit and miss. Staff friendly and helpful though. But no better than a 3/5...

We aways use AMK when we have a family treat. Food is always fresh and to a high standard. Definitely one of the best Indian takeaways locally.

Use this place as often as part-time dieting allows, because the food is always amazing. Always perfectly cooked, you can watch the food being cooked in front of you, with great use of fresh spices.This place is brilliant value any day of the week but throw in half price main meals on a Sunday and you have a real recipe for success!

The people are lovely and the place is spotless. The food is allways dead on and quick 15 minutes at the most . Chicken tikca jalfrazi with a garlic nan umm !!!

My husband and I have been eating here for years and always enjoyed our meals.They are well flavoured, good value and tonight we noticed the 5* food hygiene rating on the door which is great to see. :-)The staff are so friendly and welcoming, would highly recommend to anyone!Will be popping in for the half price Sunday deal next week when we have family over; all main meals half menu price, can't go wrong! Major improvement necessary is the sign which meets you on the door and relates to local authority hygiene rating. Its a fact and not an opinion.In my opinion, given that I have had the pleasure of visiting 50+ Indian establishments over last couple of years, this was far from being the best I have visited.Lady behind counter taking orders was pleasant but her apron was filthy. Food was plentiful but bland.Waiting area ceiling was dirty and uninviting along with walls.Wont be rushing back but if this really is the best in the area, may stick to beans on toast!!

Amazing Indian, perfect service! The young girl taking orders is lovely. I would recommend to anyone, yes it may be up in the heights, but being from Colwyn bay its only up the hill! Even if I moved out further, this would still be my number 1 Indian!

This small takeaway is in Colwyn heights, just over the road from the Pen y Bryn pub, which is handy if you are waiting for an order! We've never had a bad meal from here and the manager is always friendly! Sundays are very popular as they have an offer on which is extremely good value! I wish they delivered but it's always worth going out to get it :-)

I have lost count of the number of meals we have had from here. I would highly recommend. Be advised to phone through the order. Because it is one of the best in north wales..it is always very busy. Tonight the wait was one and half hours...but well worth it.

First review of AMK although we have been customers for years. Just finished off a Chicken Madras and a Lamb Pasanda, mushroom rice and a GCK nan bread. Absolutely gorgeous and all for just over a tenner (on a Sunday) All cooked fresh and in front of you. Great value and service.

The food is a little wetter than I normally like but the service is great and never an error plus plenty of freebies with orders for two people or more.

My family & I have enjoyed several very good meals from AMK. The onion bhajis are huge & very tasty, the vindaloo and rogan josh meals are usually delicious, and the chilli & garlic naans are great. Even though AMK is tucked away in Colwyn Heights it's well worth the drive.

I have had a few takeouts from this little takeaway. Every time the food has been absolutely spot on. Always freshly cooked and tasty. Half price main meals on a Sunday is extremely popular. On my last visit there it was so busy there was a 2 hour wait from placing your order I think that in itself tells you how popular it is. Staff are always friendly and have a smile for you. If you want a great takeaway at a great price give it a go.

Bland weak curries nothing Authentic about the food - you get huge amounts of curry but just seemed very week watery with not much real Indian authentic flavours/spices been used, just seems the average to serve this bland tasteless slop in most Indian take-outs/restaurants these days all using cheap ingredients with poor quality spices and same goes for this place - its just not worth the journey for this sort of food and so amazed people think its excellent - they really need to eat real authentic traditional Indian food - then they would know the difference

I've been to this Indian many times, and i'd recommend Sunday's as it's half price. It's the best Indian i've had and is reasonably priced. I would highly recommend the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken. Getting there can be a journey fro people outside of Colwyn Heights, but definitely worth it!

This place is located out of the way up a very steep hill so unless you live in Colwyn Heights you've really got to make a special effort to find it. And to be honest it's not worth the effort as the food is decidely average and lacking in flavour. There are better Indian takeouts in the town centre and you don't need to be a mountaineer to reach them.
