Bengal Village in Denbighshire

Ordered buttered chicken and a Bhuna, i live 5 minutes from the place and open it up to find the rice was stone cold, rang Bengali village back up to rectify the problem and was met with a disgusting attitude whilst calling me a liar, telling me the rice couldn’t possibly be cold and asking if I want to come back to his shop and test his hot plate out, no apology no offer to replace the curry’s were awful tasting and disgusting customer service arguing with me over the phone, won’t be returning stay away!

We were staying at nearby caravan park. Picked up a menu and they delivered there freeof charge. Lovely people and excellent food and we eat a lot of Indian food including in London and India. Amazing quality. I ordered amongst other things a Tarka Dahl, My favourite by which I judge the food, One of the best I've had, if not THE best. Tells me all I need to know. Reasonable price, not cheap but why should it be for good quality?Can't recommend it highly enough!

WOW!! Amazing Indian food from a great takeaway. We had a 50th birthday party for 29 people just down the road from this takeaway. Abdul who runs the takeaway was very attentive calling before the date and checking what we wanted and needed. All food was ready for collection on time and the food was amazing and great value - 29 very happy people thank you Abdul!highly recommended

First of all I don't leave a lot or reports but I felt compelled after I took the first mouthful of the Bengali Special Curry.It was like a piece of heaven!There was no fault at all in any of the food it was superb. Plenty of meat in there as well.Going along with this is the price! It is easily 5 star City Indian restaurant standard but a take away price. From front of house to the food . Absolutely spot on . One of the nicest jalfrezi s I’ve had . And the chicken chat was to die for . Would highly recommend to anybody.

Excellent food and great customer service. My go-to takeaway. I highly recommend the butter chilli chicken, it's really tasty and nice and hot. Would encourage people to try this place out.

I've had a few takeaways from here and never been disappointed. A good selection with classic dishes and specialty dishes. They do get very busy at peak times so factor that in when ordering but would recommend.

We have just had the worst food here all thrown together with no thought. Won’t be eating here ever again.

We have had many meals from here and have never been disappointed. We find one portion is enough between us but obviously depends on your appetite. Prices are good too. Always very pleasant and usually a 20minute wait so freshly cooked.

I only tip when I am happy with the service and food.

Ordered the Madras,to find when we dished it out, it was really watery,this has happened on a couple of occasions,in the past it has been fine not at all watery.We rang up to complain only to be shouted down the phone at by the owner,he was very rude,will not be going there again!

Best Indian takeaway! Have had our takeaways from here for year now, I study in London and this is still my favourite! Family and friends all choose this! Friendly staff and amazing food.

Me my partner and my little one recently went for a little trip to st asaph , craving an Indian one night I looked through trip advisor to find this place. We went in and ordered the wait wasn't too long , my partner had the chicken tikka masala which he said was one of the best he's ever had, I had the Rogan josh and it was cooked to perfection full of flavour and the chicken just melted in my mouth , will defiantly come again when we're back in town , highly recommend!

Tried for a late night takeaway the guy behind the counter was really friendly and helpful, the wait passed very quickly, the food was very nice would definitely call again....

Awful tasting food , raw meat which was meant to be chicken but definitely was a cheaper alternative . Would never eat here again!

Wimp enorme cuando se trata de comida picante, el personal era amable y hablador y el tipo que era lo suficientemente servicial para mí encontrar un plato que no era demasiado picante pero tenía mucho sabor. . Recomendado el especial del chef del sur de la india y para alguien que no me gusta, curry normalmente no me decepcionó!

Mi esposa y yo comida para llevar la bengala más Viernes como fin tratar y he encontrado la comida consistentemente excelente. El dueño es muy amable y el chef siempre cocineros de nuestra comida a la perfección y está muy atento a sus necesidades de calor, si desea un plato ligeramente más caliente o más suaves de lo normal. La comida es muy sabrosa y muy recomendable - que son muy afortunados de tener una calle tan bueno en llevar Asaph.

Siempre recién preparado y deliciosos sabores maravillosos y generosas porciones. Personal amable, pedidos teléfono pena bienvenido no llega. Precios razonables vale la pena cada céntimo.

Just eaten another Top class Indian meal. I cannot fault any of the food on the menu and there is always plenty to eat. The staff are alway friendly and helpful and good for a chat while you wait for order to be cooked which is usually quick. All in all a Top Indian Takeaway. Here's too the next 20 years, I hope I win 1st prize again in the raffle in 20 years time. See you next weekend.

Staying near by for partners birthday he is a curry lover and so we came here. Lovely meal and good quality. We had Butter Chicken and Chicken Pathia - great takeaway would recommend.

Just moved into the area and great to find a decent Indian Take Away not far from home.The B.V. is celebrating its 20th. birthday this year. If it has been as good as it was for us on our visit then I can understand why it has been in business all these years.I had the Chicken Tikka Masala - really good. Plenty of tender pieces of chicken in a yummy sauce. Cannot remember what hubby had but I know he enjoyed his choice. The Pashwari Nan was the nicest we have tasted in a long time.Long may The Bengal Village reign. One thing though... We decided that the internal & external decor hadn't been changed since it opened. The whole place could do with a lick of paint!!! But keep serving your delicious food. We will be back

The staff are always helpful and cheerful and the food is always excellent. I'd rather eat takeaway from here than sit in at most Indian restaurants in North Wales.

Very Nice food, asked for a recommendation and was offered the South Indian Roshni Chicken. Which was possibly the best curry I've had!

First time ordering from this takeaway and it will be the last.The chicken had a strange chemical taste and was very stringy. The curry's both tasted incredibly salty - couldn't eat them. The chips were overcooked and greasy and the rice didn't taste of anything. Vile vile vile.

We visited the take away on our 1st evening in the area. We selected a 2 chicken dishes but was disappointed by the quality of the meat, likewise considering there was no one in we can't understand why they made a mistake in our order by giving my wife the wrong rice.It will be our only visit to Bengal Village.

First time we have tried this venue and were very pleased with our meals. The food was hot and the portions were generous. The pickle selection was good. The Special Balti, Chili Buttered Chicken and the Chili Garlic Massala were particularly good.Now we have eaten here we will use it in future.

My 3rd take away from here , and I have tried many curry's in uk and abroad. But can honesty say this place can not be bettered . Top tip mixed madras with mushroom rice is yummy . Meat cooked to perfection and rice superb .

Ive been visting here for fair few times now and everytime has been blinding these guys know how to make a curry.i phone my order through everytime its within 20 minutes for collection and abdul is always friendly

Me and my partner have been coming here constantly for years and it is always perfect! The butter chicken is like nothing I've ever tasted!

Food is about the best in the area. We like our Dahl soup thick, and they are always happy to oblige. i also like my Dhansak a bit hotter than the norm, again they are always willing to add another chilli to my taste

I had a chicken chilli and some peshwari nann bread.The chicken dish was very tasty with plenty of chicken in and the naan bread was good but it wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was still a very good takeaway!

Went on a Friday night. members of staff are always friendly and pleasant. The takeaway has a 5 star hygiene rating. Service was very good. Food was variable. Chicken byriani tasted excellent, but towards the end of eating it was very greasy, the curry sauce to go with it could have been better. The peshwari naan was not as good as elsewhere. Will go again, perhaps just an off night.

I have visited this take away for several years, and it always succeeds in providing first class food. There are now new items on the menu, and having tried all these, they are certainly a welcome addition. Always pleasant service which is an added bonus.

Absolutely love this place. Moved to StAsaph a few years ago and for some reason always avoided this place due to its bleak look from outside. I went to many various Indian takeaways and restaurants in other local towns until one day deciding to give this place a go, a decision I certainly have never regretted. I haven't been anywhere since for a takeaway. Abdul is a fantastic bloke and nothing is too much trouble for him. I have tried so many things off the menu and all have been absolutely flawless. A true meaning to the word hidden gem! Keep up the good work guys!!!

We walked in and had a very long chat with the nice gentleman behind the counter, paid a very reasonable price and had a beautiful-tasting meal when we got home. There is nothing to fault. Perfect.

I can honestly recommend this take away. I have never been disappointed. My favourite is the Alfred which carries a good kick but with plenty of flavour. Staff are all ways pleasant and very friendly.I have tried most of the local Indian restaurant but keep coming back here because they get it right.

Went on a Tuesday night at 7-20 am for a takeaway to find it closed. The takeaway has a good reputation locally. Hopefully the owner and his family are o.k. In the window it said they were open 7 days a week.

Have tried all Indian restaurants in the area and this is the best by far! Fantastic service and delicious meals! I visit here regularly and will continue to do so!

I'm new to the area and stay on a local caravan park. I have heard so many good things about this place and decided to give it a go. Visited on Friday and the food was top quality, tasty and I didn't have to wait long. The owner seems very friendly and even said hello to me in the street the next day. Will use again when I'm back at my caravan .

Best Indian Takeaway in North Wales Lovely staff, FANTASTIC FOOD, can't fault it AND GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY!!!A must if you want a proper tasty meal we asked for Naga Curry, it wasn't on the menu but he promised to get some Naga Chillies in for nxt time and true to his word he had some and made the most delicious Naga Curry. I had the Bhuna this time which was delicious, the Bengal Special is also a must try, loads of different meats cooked to perfection with a lip smackingly tasty sauceYou wont be disappointed!!!

Having recently moved into the area - and the area being North Wales we didn't know what to expect. Well wait what's this? IT'S ONLY THE BEST CURRY I'VE EVER HAD.We had a house full of people who all said it's up there with the best ever. I spent a few months in India earlier in the year and let me tell you, Abdul is every bit on par with the best !

Arguably the best Indian takeaway I've ever had (there have been many to choose from!) Abdul was very welcoming and honest with regards to how long our six meal order would take. You definitely get what you pay for! Every dish was perfect so it was well worth the wait!

We have been treated to the excellent quality at Bengal Village for the past 17 years. Abdul and his staff have worked extremely hard for their 5 rating. Very well deserved. The food is not only superb but is also reasonably priced. My Grandchildren also love the curries. I wish them more success for the future. Ian Parry

Really good value for money and the staff are always so nice and pleasant. A favorite dish of mine is chicken shashlik... a must try!

We've recently started going to Bengal Village and for the price and taste it's defiantly the best Indian in the local area! Tikka rolls are a must - chicken tikka with sauces, and salad, wrapped in a whole naan ... Amazing.. And only £3 something!

Can't believe it been 19 years since Bengal Village opened its doors in St Asaph. We have been a regular customer since day one and have never had a bad meal. We have tried various others that have come and gone but always keep going back to Bengal Village. Our children (aged 7 & 8) love the chicken korma and though all the dishes are excellent you must try a tikka roll if you haven't had one before - a phenomena!

Always a prompt service. Excellent food every time. Has even got Mrs into eating curries. Friendly service always.

A visit to the Bengal Village is a weekly treat for my daughter and myself. The service is excellent ..... we usually ring ahead and within 20 minutes, our meal is ready and waiting for us. We always receive a warm and friendly welcome and the food is very reasonably priced. We are vegetarians and our curry is always delicious, full of flavour and contains a variety of fresh vegetables and spices. The portion sizes are large so we usually share rice and a naan bread. It's Friday today, can you guess who will be making our dinner this evening? mmmmm can't wait!!

We came to St Asaph for 4 days and came across this Indain Take Away and was blown away how lovely it was the owner is a top guy he even gave us some plates knives and forks, which was a bouns as the hotel kitchen was closed.If you get chance to go I would make the effort as you also will be saying the same.Yum yum yum.Paul&Paula York

We have just moved to the area and really enjoy Indian food. Not normally a take away user we decided to try Bengal Village as it's the only option locally. We were extremely surprised by the quality of the food, superb ! The owner, Abdul took our order, we asked for a few adjustments so the curry would be how we wanted it and he and his chefs did exactly as we asked. He was extremely friendly and took the time to explain a few different things he could do. Clearly a busy take away, with a good number of people coming in whilst we waited for our food.Good value for money also, not at all expensive. Just a shame they don't have a restaurant that also does take away.Have been back a couple more times and it was just as tasty.

This is the only curry house that we will go to. So much Indian food take away food has lost its way. Not here, you can taste every spice! The pilau rice is always light and flavoured with bay and cardamom, the curry sauces are rich and complex. For all you curry addicts out there, this is like a trip to India itself. ENJOY!

Been having meals from here for many years and have always been happy with meal not many takeaways I can say are good but this is one I can quite happily recommend.The owners are very friendly always greets us with name and always asks how we are which is very nice.Meals are first class and they will explain what is in meal and offer alternatives if you ask.

Every time we have a meal from here we wonder why we don't have one more often. The menu has a great range to suit every palate, sensitive or asbestos, but with all the essential flavours. The fact that we don't have one more often is that it is a 20 minute drive to get there. Service is great and the staff are always chatty and friendly. The curries at Bengal Village are reliably tasty, using fresh ingredients and are, as far as I can tell, about as authentic as you can get anywhere!

First visit today, don't let the slightly tired outside put you off. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food smelt fab and it was fragrant and tasty. There was lots of spice not just heat. Can't wait to try something different on the menu next time.

My partner and myself arnt really curry eaters, but we have found a meal here that is lovely. .We have the same meal about once a month. Bidarmi. ..gorgeously friendly staff too.

My partner and I have been eating Indian food for 10 years. Since moving house we were looking for a new place. We found Bengal Village just driving passed, it didn’t look like much from the outside but we decided to give it a go, we were very surprised, The food was amazing! Very tasty and full of flavour which I think is was missing for the area. Most places are pretty much the same old but not this place, Very unique dishes, Rice, bread, papadums and sides always taste very fresh. The service is also very friendly. We are now very friendly with the staff. We have since moved again but still travel the 10 mile round trip.

This is a great place to eat for anyone no matter how sensitive your taste buds are. Our family have been eating from hear for years now and love it. The boys like spicy food but also want flavour with plenty of sauce and thats what they get with the chicken tikka, passanda biryani and even the butter chicken. My daughter also like sauce but not so much hotness so opt for korma or butter chicken. The husband likes spicy food full of flavour but likes vegetables in his curry so chooses different options such as the jalfrezi. We've made friends with the guys there and they're so friendly. Curry with plenty of sauce, curries with vegetables, different hotness and chicken thats been packed with flavour. Honest 5 star ratings for all categories. The kids love it since they were about eight and still love it now that the oldest is eighteen!

I hadn't been to Bengal village for some time, partly due to diet and partly due to the arrival of various Indian restaurants and take aways in Denbigh. Whilst the Denbigh venues are good in the main, I have had a few disappointments. The chicken madras in Bengal village is one of the best I have had in North Wales. The sauce is perfect and you get plenty of chicken. Have a keema nan on the side as that is very good too. My son had a chicken patia which he thoroughly enjoyed. Abdul the proprietor is really friendly and efficient and I am glad that I went back as it's always good to chat with him. The other surprise is the price, incredibly reasonable, so much so that it's still cheaper than local Denbigh takeaways even taking in to account the diesel used. I like to shop locally but I like value for money and quality.
