Beautiful place, staff were extremely friendly and helpful and good food!!

We have just thoroughly enjoyed the set meal for 2. It tasted very fresh and light! There was a huge amount of variety and loads of it! We ate as much as possible in one sitting (and my husband can really eat) and we still have about half of it left. For not even £14 each you can not go wrong with this choice! The staff are extremely cheerful and polite as well, so a fantastic experience all round, thank you!

First time for food from here. Will definitely be back. The takeaway went beyond expectations, fresh and delicious, and all who shared the meal agreed. The place was immaculate, and I love that you can see the kitchen and watch it being prepared.

We ordered the set menu for 2 and asked if we could make some small changes, they were very helpful and happily made the changes. The food was A+ we couldn't eat everything very generous portions. Would definitely recommend.

Probably the best takeaway I’ve ever had. On holiday here from London, and I thought we had it great up there, but this was something else. Big portions with lots of meat, perfectly cooked and amazing flavour. Strongly recommend coming here, you won’t be disappointed

Was really tasty! To say we are from Curry Capital I would rate this curry. We got a korma and chicken tikka very big pieces of chicken. The cheese naan was amazing!

I have been a regular customer of Ruthin Tandoori for many years. The food is consistently good. However, on 25th March 2023 I ordered a meal online and went to collect my order at the time stated on the website. 30 minutes later I had still not received my order. Had I not asked how much longer it would be I think I would still be waiting! Overal it took 1 hour 15 minutes for my meal to be ready. I received no apology for the delay. From what I observed during my wait I believe that several other customers faced lengthy waits for their orders. The kitchen appeared to be in a state of chaos.

Great curry last night. Had the Bindi Lamb with the Lemon Rice plus a Mushroom Bhaji. Absolutely lovely. Highly recommended.

This has to be the best Indian food I’ve had since living in ruthin , staff/chefs are always very polite and accommodating. Food is always delicious flavoursome, and never greasy like other places , it’s also nice to be able to see the food being prepared ,as the kitchen always looks spotless . Food is always on time. I also like when I telephone to place an order they know who I am and what I like. I would highly recommend Ruthin Tandoori and give them 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Went in after being out for a few drinks on a Saturday night. Staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating as they were cashing up and cleaning down. Well the food was incredible. I’d read some of the reviews and was expecting good things but was very pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Not a bit of grease anywhere. Beautiful tasting sauce with plenty of good quality chicken, (and prawns in the other dish). Can’t praise it enough, I’ve had some bad curries in my time. I’d definitely recommend this takeaway. It’s just a pity I live so far away as I’d be a regular visitor.

Not exactly tandoori food. It's Bangladeshi version of Indian Tandoori food. Not to our liking.

We’ve been regulars here since we moved to Ruthin in 2013. You could always rely on great ingredients, flavours and pretty good value. The place shut down for a while in late 2021 but reopened this year. I’m sad to say it’s gone downhill. We ordered 3 different curries….a naga, a vindaloo and a jalfrezi. All had exactly the same flavour albeit a little more chilli powder in the vindaloo. Not sure if the chefs have left or change in management. I can’t say it’s bad….just not as good as it used to be and there are better offerings locally.

We had a family take out 2 weeks ago. We were aware this takeaway has been closed since Christmas 2021. Unsure if it has new owners but our food was vile. Korma was not sweet but bland. Ordered 4 popadoms and received 4 Nan breads Rip off will nit return here good app sling

We stayed in Ruthin over the bank hol and after a long day out exploring this fantastic place we decided on a take away..we had walked past the Ruthin Tandoori, it was around the corner from our accommodation so we decided to give it a go. We ordered various curries and sundries, we were pleasantly surprised when quoted 25mins for collection. The food was vile!! Pickled onions in a curry- lazy and just wrong. The chicken had a strange taste and consistency. The flavours were not right at all. My partners meal had a long HAIR in it. Honestly the worst meals I have ever ordered. AVOID AVOID.. Official Hygiene Rating - 3 Taste - 0 Value for money - 0 ..beware!

Having been customers here for a long time you could always rely on the quality good food and consistency. This takeaway has also been a treat during the long lockdown months so got very used to the quality. Don’t know why but that consistency and quality has slowly deteriorated in the past weeks to a point last weekend where the meal can only be described as poor. It’s a shame but we will be giving this a miss now.

The team at Ruthin Tandoori are always friendly and can never do too much to help. The food is always of an excellent standard and extremely tasty. Keep up the good work guys.

We ordered a lovely evening meal to take away here and it was lovely. The service was excellent as the workers were pleasant and polite. I would recommend this take away as its a hidden gem. Everything was as an Indian should be with tasty flavours and the portions were good for each persons meal. Thank you.

Food was excellent it was a shame that the staff that took payment were so utterly rude. It was such a shame as there rudeness was so unnecessary and put a cloud over what had been a lovely evening.

Good consistent class B Indian food.

Ordered and paid online and was able to pick food up at the pre-arranged time. Small wait as the onion bhajis are cooked fresh once you arrive to pick the food up rather than getting cold and soggy waiting for you. Bhajis were brilliant as was the rest of the meal. Naga chicken has a ferocious kick and the saag paneer is beautiful. Am delighted we have such a great takeaway so local to us. Highly recommended.

This India food here is very good. Their Chicken Tandoori is special and I would say different from other India food take away. When I say different I mean it does taste better than the others. Order a starter and you will get some salad and mint yogurt. You can also order on line via your mobile phone, search the app in the app store OR via the internet off their website. Doing this option you can pay by Credit Card, as they do not take credit card in the store, and you can pick the time for pick up, so you can order in advance. Great people with a passion.

The Ruthin Tandoori on Wynnstay Rd is one of two Indian takeaways in Ruthin and while the Ocean pearl has a terrific menu, Ruthin Tandoori's dishes seem to travel better when it comes to take outs. The takeaway offers a varied menu with conventional dishes and chef specials so choice is not an issue. Food is freshly cooked and packaged as ordered - I have never had a dish omitted. When my kids were a little younger, staff always offered the girls a treat, and the front counter staff seem to remember returning customers well. I am never afraid to turn house guests on to a Indian from Ruthin Tandoori when I have visitors from near or far.

Where do I start.., ordered online @ 19:18 with the message it will be ready in 45 mins. Arrived at the shop at 20:03 paid to be told it’s not ready be a few mins wait.. ok I waited and waited.. I went back to the counter to ask about my order at 20:30 to be told it’s not ready be about 5 mins.. finally got the food at 20:50. Was it worth the wait??? got home to fine missing items .. called back to advise .. they don’t seem bothered! The curry was bland, really not worth £33.00 or the 2 hour wait. I won’t be going back.

The food is ordinary and not the best I have tasted in drivable distance. Which actually shocked me because it took over an hour to get my order filled.

Whole experience very disappointing.Terrible service-ordered a take-away on-line at 6.10pm which said it would be ready at 6.40. Waited in shop until 7.30 for it . Got it home -Vegetable Madras had very little flavour or spice and veg laknu was like a very bland korma. Wish we had used the wasted time to drive to Abul's in Corwen which serves delicious food at a reasonable price.

Best Indian takeaway in Ruthin.

Having had food here for many years I know that quality can vary depending on how busy they are. Yesterday I ordered a birthday meal. There was a delay on collection then on returning home I found the naan I wanted with my sheek kebab was missing. I contacted the tandoori to query this and was told I had paid for the starter not the dish I actually wanted. As my food would be cold if I retuned for a naan I reluctantly left the matter there. On eating the food it was disappointing. Luke warm and soggy chips for a guest. The point is that things like this can happen but how they are resolved is important. There was no willingness to accept I actually wanted a sheek kebab naan therefore will not be returning for some time. Matters were further compounded when I felt unwell overnight. I have no idea as to the cause but have my suspicions!!

Far too expensive as no competition around. Portions are very small as well. Shame really as quality of meal is good.

These guys can't cook Indian quinine I'm from Birmingham there they can cook the food tasted like it came out a supermarket freezer rubbish.

I love curry... and this is a great find ... the curry(king prawn & saag balti) was fantastic .. saag paneer was to die for ... my curry was full of flavour .. I will be back for another soon ...

This was a first order as we were staying in the area and we were not disappointed. For three of us we ordered 3 poppadums with relish and a lovely mango chutney. We shared two portions of onion bhajis which were fresh and tasty ( not spicy which suited our daughter). For the mains we had a chicken korma and a lamb rogan josh. The korma was sweet and very tasty whilst the Rogan Josh was fresh with lots of tomatoes and the lamb beautiful and tender. We accompanied this with excellent pilau rice and very fresh naan bread. An excellent meal at a good price.

I have been using this takeaway for a while now ,food I thought was excellent but after a friend told me about recent hygiene ratings zero star from council I am now forced to eat else where,I feel very let down and hope they can get there act together but unfortunately I am forced to find a new Indian takeaway to use,shame because I would have given 5 stars if they could have been bothered to keep the place fit for food consumption.

Nearly always very good. We have used this place since it opened nearly 15 years ago I think. There is a lot less chicken in the chicken samosas since then!

I have used ruthin Tandoori for my takeaway curry for 5 years and never been disappointed. Even when another curry house opened in town I stayed with ruthin Tandoori for my takeaway as it is my side of town.Decembers takeaway I ordered chicken madras and received that - with a piece of beef.Tonight (2 Jan) I ordered chicken tikka curry and some poppadoms. Poppadoms were good but after eating those I opened my 'curry' which was a chicken tikka starter and not a curry.Really disappointed and whatever quality control used to exist seems to have disappeared in the last month. Thankfully we have an alternative in Ruthin.

It's a Saturday and just ordered our usual take away over the phone. Although the food is always exceptional, the young man who took the order needs to polish his telephone manner!

I've been visiting this take away for many years and the quality of food is always consistent and delicious. The staff are always lovely and get everything spot on.

I've had several take always from here. You can order in person, on the phone and online. It's always cooked fresh and I've not had a bad meal since I moved here and started using this takeaway in 2013.

I visted the take away the other day for a lamb tikka massala. They had a 2 for 1 deal, sounded great. After a 21 minuite wait I set off home with my take away. They gave me chicken - I don't eat chicken. As its a 30 min drive each way, I could not summon up the energy to go back and complain.The recipt said lamb, so I had ordered right,

Best tandoori food we've eaten between the North West and London.Although we have been on a number of occasions before, tonight we ordered during their 15 year event. This is another treasure for Ruthin! The dishes I tried were one of the best curries I have eaten! The food was fresh. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The prices are reasonable too!

The curry was incredible, and very cheap. On the two occasions we visited, the nan bread was lovely one and a bit meh once. But frankly the quality of the city more than made up for that.

We use this takeaway on a regular basis, wouldn't consider using anyone else. They are fab, will customise dishes as requested. Really tasty food. What else can I say?

I have been buying a takeaway from Tandoori many times since last year and the food always has exceeded my expectations. Lovely food freshly cooked, very consistent flavours and good prices.

I like getting Indian food from takeaways or restaurants which don't sell alcohol. This means in general if they want to survive and make money they have to be good. This one is also very clean and bright with most of the cooking done in the open in front of you. Apart from a slight mishap (got chicken dish when ordered lamb) the food was as good as I can get in the East End of London (and much better than most!).

A great meal!. A wide choice of dishes and reasonably priced, not mention delicious. This would have received 5 stars, but they cooked a vegetarian dish with chicken as well as paneer, despite our clear instructions that one of our party was a vegetarian. This aside, it was an excellent meal.

This take-away has been here a long time, and i have heard stories of people catching an early train from London in order to visit this unassuming cafe in a side street.Huge menu. All cooked by hand-picked chefs.It has now been joined as a Indian by a new sit-down restaurant in Clwyd Street; reports are needed. But I bet it won't be as good as this take-away. I know tandoori is common but it does not come better then this.

I've been going regularly since they first opened. I have only ever had one disappointing meal when I could only see two staff members. I suspect they were unavoidably short-staffed. Otherwise, great food and plenty of it! I can only echo what others have said - if only they might open a restaurant in town. They've now been beaten to it which they may learn to regret.

Been lots of times9 out of 10 times its perfect cooked to perfection but there are times you get a meal and its too salty or a bit hotter(spicy) than your expecting in the past 3 years ive been about 20 times and has about 2 rough deals the meals are not bad just not the up to the normal standard dont let that put you off because it is simply amazing when you get a good one plus it dose not stop me going because most of the times its perfect

Probably the best place to eat in Ruthin but you cannot sit down, you have to order and take away. The cuisine is very varied, from many different regions, from the sweet to the very spicy.

Love the food and staff! Always visiting, always enjoying, and will always go back. I find the best value is to share a meal for 1.

I have never had a bad meal here, and I have had a lot of meals here. Take away only, but with a good menu, reasonable prices and an open kitchen, it is a real cracker-love the Jalfrezi dishes and the Sashlik, only complaint would be the Naan's are a little thick and doughy, but taste is spot on.

I've tried several meals here and all were excellent. I can definitely recommend the Phall, how they get so much flavour into something this hot is magic, it's the Phall for me every time.

Great flavours, the chicken dishes never disappoint and the nan breads are huge and all freshly made to various recipes. Order by phone or via the net, they always tell you how long it will take and it is ready when you collect. Starters and side dishes all freshly made. They maintain a high standard and is popular!

First visits to this Indian Take away and I have to say, brilliant. Chicken Korma, Dupiaza and the best Madras I have ever had. Definitely would go again, the staff were polite, helpful and the place clean and most of all the food delicious. This place is fab. Food is tasty and decent portion sized. What I like is that you can order it with low oil so not too greasy. The service is great and friendly.

We regularly order takeaway meals from the Tandoori Ruthin. The latest was last Friday and as usual, it is the best Indian restaurant by far. The quality of the food is fantastic, our favourites being Madras, Jalfrezi and Dhasak. The Naan breads are always beautifully cooked to perfection. Staff are always friendly and attentive and the service is excellent. Not to be ignored, this is a 5 star rated restaurant on food hygeine and is the best restaurant in North Wales,

Simply the best Indian Takeaway in North Wales. Go there regular, NEVER had a poor meal there. Real shame its not a restaurant. The food is simply sublime. Give it a go and it will be on your speed dial !!!
