Suhail Tandoori Indian in Denbighshire

Very disappointed, possibly because it was so busy but certainly not up to it's usual standard. Booked table was not ready, food slow to appear & didn't all come together, half the table of 4 had food the other half didn't, plus some elements missing. Chicken tikka very dry, other food luke warm & condiments especially the chutney watered down terribly. Definitely won't visit again early evening on a Saturday if we decide to give it another chance !

Sadly a huge let down. Phoned and was advised it would be 30mins. Arrived 30mins later to wait a further 25mins so 55mins in total. Got home and one item missing. Unable to refund over the phone. The sauce cartons weren’t full x 2 and the rice wasn’t either. Not worth the money. I wouldn’t have minded if they were busy but they he restaurant wasn’t anywhere near full. Disappointing to say the least.

Amazing conversion of chapel. Service was off the scale. Food was real nice but strangely not what we asked for. We ordered chicken madras main meal but it was 100% pathia. Slightly red in colour with strong sour and hot spices. It was delicious so didnt say anything, i hate being the customer who moans without really good reason. The naan... wow and mushroom rice... double wow. I would love to try the madras next time we go...lol

Been for the 1st time and food was so delicious. Hospitality was amazing And the atmosphere was so lovely. Thank you so much Dikshya for your great service. Highly recommended. Can’t wait to visit again.

Enjoy this restaurant and food is excellent, friendly staff and very professional. Only criticism is that they can be a bit quick at clearing the table between courses when people are still eating. Apart from that, excellent.

Having read the reviews on this place, we had high expectations and we weren't disappointed. Even local bar staff and retail assistants had said how good it was. The staff were really friendly and helpful and very efficient, but the food was the star of the show, fresh, hot, full of flavour and well presented. What a great restaurant with people that really care about their customers and the food they serve. It's a must if you're staying locally.

Always come here for excellent food and service. Absolutely fabulous.

Firstly,I'm from gods country, Yorkshire, we have a few good Indian restaurants. The Suhail is no exception,I've eaten here 20plus times,food has always been excellent.the thing to do is try something you've never had before,vary your tastes...I love it here. Loads different meals to try.i will go back !!!

Well my first visit here was some 33 years ago when it first opened. Been regularly over he years but not for the last 8 years so was surprised to learn its still in same ownership. Service was great friendly atmosphere and still great food. Well worth a visit.

Not a good experience unfortunately. We were seated fairly quickly and drinks order taken. It was very busy and there didn’t seem many waiting on staff. They took our orders and it was a bit of a wait for the food but we were okay with that. Problem arose when the food was delivered to the table, it came out in bits and pieces so some of us had part of a meal but no sides or sauce and some had nothing at all. Consequently by the time the sides came out the main was cold and the food quality was poor as most of it was dry and didn’t seem fresh. We did complain and were offered a free drink, I accepted one but my husband was driving so he couldn’t, as for the kids they didn’t want any more & two lemonades doesn’t make up for a bad meal. The bill came to £96, the cost didn’t match the quality. On paying the bill, I said it wasn’t good and was told he would look after us, my response was ‘you didn’t’. We’re really busy was the excuse, well that may be a reason but it’s not an excuse, try booking in what you can reasonably cope with. We won’t be returning.

Absolutely beautiful building. I work in an Indian restaurant so I am always sceptica, with us visiting the area we thought we would give this a try. I have to say this is nicest curry I have ever had. I ordered the chicken achari and it was full of flavour and perfectly spiced. We also had a chicken saag which again was so full of flavour. Both with plenty of chicken which was soft and tasty. Great customer service highly recommend .

Fancied a curry and been here before so knew what to expect...arrived at 5pm and loads of space...food was lovely

Been going here for 7 years,went 2 Jan 25 ordered a sizzler never came sizzling and the meat was very dry. I don't know if it has changed hands but has gone down.

I came with my partner on New Years Eve, they were fully booked and it was very busy. The food was amazing, the best Indian i’ve ever had; the service was absolutely spot on and we were regularly checked and served. The ladies who served us were so lovely and they did such a good job for a busy night! Staff 10/10, Food 10/10 and service 10/10

Not been here for a years.... Still same owner and I really couldn't fault it.. Best curry I've had for ages... Lamb melted on your mouth..now I go regularly every couple of weeks..

Always enjoyed this restaurant since visiting Prestatyn, still enjoy it but the portions are smaller and the prices are higher to the point that we may look elsewhere, when getting poppadums we weren’t aware you are then charged for the chutneys to go with them?? Tandoori mixed grill is £12.50 for takeaway and £18 to eat in which I think is quite high, bit disappointed that things have changed

We go regularly to this fantastic restaurant. Open throughout the day and evening which suits us well. Always a friendly welcome and food superb. Highly recommended. We also go with friends as the atmosphere is great for eating alone or as part of a group.

In my opinion the best curry in the area. Chicken Madras is my preference which is alway excellent. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. Have Cobra and Kingfisher on draft. Has a good size car park and only a short walk away from High Street

Overall was average, but was disappointing. Don’t think we would return but maybe just get as a takeaway. We went on the pretence of pricing online. Family of four was over £70.00. A lot of the items on the menu hiked up in the restaurant, I.e. Chicken Tikka massala is £9.40 online but charged £12.75. Kids meals are not really a thing, apart from an expensive chicken nuggets at £8.50. Otherwise, some staff friendly and some just looking to get you out. Relatively clean, but under our table was a bit dirty. If I would get it again it would be a takeaway hoping to not be charged some random prices. Bit disappointed as we were recommended this place.

We ordered take out so many times & dine in is also from last there years. The food taste as usual always similar,food quality really outstanding.stuff are so friendly & lovely. Restaurant well organised & beautifully decorated. Do visit many many more times.It’s the excellent restaurent in North Wales that I have ever seen.

We were visiting a local campsite and always try somewhere new each time that we visit. It was a great welcome. The building is very grand. All of the waiters and waitresses really looked after us and nothing seemed too much trouble. We all had starters which were gorgeous. I had the chicken chat. My wife had onion bhaji and our friends had garlic mushrooms and mixed meat kebab. The mains came with a reasonable gap and didn't disappoint. Mine was a balti. My wife had a sagg, our friends had a madrs and the ginger curry. It was all very reasonably priced. We will definitely go back. It was a great evening. Thanks guys. See you soon.

Very disappointed at the quality of the food. I have been getting takeaways from here for a number of years and the food has always been excellent. I ordered a takeaway recently and the food was poor. The meat was very dry, the salad was days old, lettuce was brown and the rest was limp. The poppadoms were burnt and crushed into little pieces. I will think twice about going again.

Went for my 40th birthday meal , now my favourite Indian locally even if it is 20 miles away. I had lamb naga and it was unbelievable.

Beautiful curry me and my family had. Portions generous and there's a lovely relaxed attitude to the place. Pricing about right. We might call again when in the area

I never have any complaints with the Suhail. The staff are always brilliant, really friendly and efficient. We always get our food quickly with smiles. The restaurant could be bustling with people, every table occupied, and we still get the same service every time, which is perfection. Would definitely recommend the Suhail, with delicious food and amazing service, you can't really go wrong

Have been here quite a few times for a meal and had always been good, food is always cooked fresh , last night for the first time I popped in for a takeaway, Wow I can honestly say it was the best takeaway I've ever had, I can't recommend enough.

What can I say. The sevice was impeccable. The food was superb. I had the meat pathia, probably the best pathia sauce I have ever tasted. The chutney tray that came with the poppadoms was amazingly tasty. I will be back and I recommend you give it a try too:)

We came here tonight as it had been recommended to us. We were not dissapointed. I am vegetarian so I started with garlic mushrooms serve on a puri bread, really succulent and tasty. For my main course I had a mixed vegetable dansack and a chipati. The vegetables were fresh and not overcooked, the chipati was freshly made and cooked, it made me realise how poor the usual offerings are at other Indian restaurants. My wife started with prawn puri and she chose a chicken curry with ginger, mint and spices. Delicious. Very helpful and attentive staff can highly recommend this establishment.

We were recommended to come here for a meal. We were not dissapointed. I am vegetarian and had garlic mushrooms to start which came on puri bread, lovely and succulent. I then had mixed vegetable daysack with a chapati. This was delicious, lovely fresh vegetables which were tasty and a great fresh hot chapati. One of the best meals I have had. My wife had prawn puri to start and then a chicken curry with ginger and mint. Very helpful and pleasent staff. They do takeaways as well, so if you cannot get in you can still enjoy their food.

Awful service and i never complain we waited over an hour for food staff rude. Food average didnt even feel like eating it when it did arrive. Nearly walked out but kids were hungry x

The interior is decent and the cuisine is even better. The best Indian we have encountered so far. We will be back as it was the best curry we have had in a long time, better than home cooking.

Excellent menu choice, starters really tasty, poppadoms warm, and plenty of sauces and lime chutney with a good kick! Mains all 4 came together and were very tasty. Naan bread was crispy underneath fantastic

We are in the area for the week and decided to visit based on reviews. We were not disappointed. Best curry we have had in a long time. My partner and I had Lamb Pathia, which was absolutely delicious. Our eldest son had Chicken Tikka Massala, which he ate every bit of. Our youngest son, who is a very fussy eater, had Chicken Tikka and again ate every bit. Each curry comes with rice or naan, so portions are generous and it is good value for money. The garlic coriander naan was lovely, nice and thin, not too doughy. Service was quick, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Haven't got a bad word to say, I definitely recommend a visit.

This is one of my favourite Indian restaurants to go, even though I come from England. I ordered papadums, vegetable samosas, onion bhajis a coke for starter, all I recommend. For the main, I ordered a korma. Every ingredient was at the right level for a premium taste. The staff at Suhail are fantastic. In my experience, they were to the point, but also light-hearted as well. I was very impressed. The atmosphere is exactly to my taste; public yet private at the same time. I was sat in a booth, and it was the perfect amount of intimacy. Not too closed in, but not too much where you can hear what other people are talking about. The place is designed fantastically inside- and I've always left the restaurant happy.

spent £43 got home and had missing items so had to drive back yes they refunded me the £6 for the missing items however the food was dry and overcooked.

We went yesterday with 4 adults and 3 children, staff were very attentive and friendly. It was our first time here so wasn’t sure what to order, staff helped us through ordering and also explained which was each dish and that we ordered too many rice which was super kind of the gentleman. Food was also lovely, would definitely return! Thank you for the pleasant experience!

First time visiting Suhail, we had some friends down from Manchester who were staying in Prestatyn. So we decided to try here. And we were not disappointed it was fantastic. The staff were very attentive and offer great service. Then the food was unfault-able. We had a great early evening meal and was not rushed at all. Will be visiting again very soon.

Place was busy while we were there got a table without waiting. Lovely decor and layout inside Had 3 drinks 1 litre of rose wine, poppadoms and pickle tray, onion bhaji and 2 main courses. Service was excellent and presentation. All went well until main courses hence only 3 stars. Rice nann and main course were not warm enough told waiter an apologised and took away and brought back hot but in poor presentation from normal also wife had Tandoori Half Chicken which came with a vegetable curry instead of sauce which we got changed. Tandoori chicken was barely passable as not properly marinated. When I got the bill I was overcharged for 1 extra drink we didn't have also charged £18.50 for wine instead of £16.95 on drinks list. Got bill sorted out. Altogether not the experience I was hoping for after reading reports and reviews on place. However reports reported it was slightly expensive but did not find this to be the case judging it by other places I frequent

So we go to this restaurant every year for our wedding anniversary, tonight we arrived and was greeted by a new face however very pleasant and welcoming, we were asked to wait whilst a table was made which was fine. We sat down and a chat arrived for our drinks order shortly after. I then told this chap that we were also ready to order food and he said he would tell his manager to come and take order. 10 minutes later manager walked past so I asked about ordering food which he shouted the lady behind counter to come and take order. Starters arrived and not long after tucking in the staff kept walking past looking like they were ready to take plates and move to next dish. A staff member then approached and asked if we had finished when clearly we were still eating. After that another staff member re appeared and asked again which we just said yes and moved a few items to the side to have with our mains. As he was taking the plates from starters he said is it ok if we bring main now to which we replied no thank you , please leave it 10 minutes, ( we really felt as we were being rushed ). Anyway 10 minutes later our main meals arrived. Previous years food has been presented nice in a tray with candles, themed with baskets and quality has been spot on. This year Chicken tikka = Very watery compared to previous years. Chicken Balti = My Wife Enjoyed Naan bread ( Garlic and plain ) = Piled high into a plain white bowl, this bread was very dry. Chips = These were just spread out on a very small plate. Rice = Again just spread onto a small white plate. During us eating our main meals other customers left which made us the only ones left in there, the background music had either been turned off or had finished its tracks, this was not put back on so the restaurant was very quiet until about 10 feet away from us the so called manager and another staff member placed cutlery trays on a table at the back of the bar and decided to start drying the knifes , folks , spoons and this was being done in handfuls and been thrown into the trays making lots of noise which really was not pleasant during eating our meal. This manager then came over to ask if we had finished which he could clearly see husband was still eating. Moments later came again to which we just said yes done now, he then asked if we had enjoyed to which husband replied it was ok until you started cleaning all the cutlery and making all that noise whilst we were eating, his response was simple , oh we apologise for this and he then walks off. We then got up and went to the bar to pay (previous visits , they would always come to the table to take payment) the bill was 70 odd £. The lady behind the counter asked if everything was ok, I said ok until the cutlery situation to which she just giggle and then answered the mobile phone which was ringing during our conversation. Not a care in the world. Previous visit price of set meal for 2 = £49.00 , this visits price for same meal £52.50. I understand inflation however if your increasing prices then surely keep the product the same, I’m afraid to said the taste of the food was very poor today and looks like budget produce with no presentation rather than what we were used to here with was quality, great presentation and great staff all over. Going off tonight’s experience, this place must have new ownership or new management because the old owner would go crazy if he seen the quality of tonight’s service and food. Overall Higher prices , less quality , less of customer service skills I’m afraid to say next year we will be changing venue for our Anniversary.

After arriving we was seated at our table very quickly, friendly staff, at first I was shocked by the price of chicken nuggets at £10 but realised there was 10 chicken nuggets, chips & a full salad on, massive portions would easily feed 2 children! The price is hardly an issue once you’ve tasted the food,The quality was absolutely spot on, the amount was generous too, usually dining in a restaurant you get half the portion size you usually would as a take away but that’s not the case here. Best Indian in north wales. Highly recommend, can’t wait to go back. Empty plates all round 😊

Genuinely a really nice Indian restaurant. The best service we've had in an Indian restaurant. High chairs available for baby/toddler on arrival. Great decor and tables had plenty of space and leg room. The food is completely their own. Not like anywhere else we've eaten, really tasty, full of flavour and spice. The madras was milder than I'm used to but the strong flavour made up for it. Upon arrival, we felt like the prices were slightly on the expensive side compared to other Indian restaurants But the high quality of the food and the service completely makes up for it. Highly recommend chicken Tikka Shashlik with Madras sauce. The rice is better than anywhere else I've had it. The chutney tray also in their own league, completely their own and not like a standard Indian. Would happily come again!

Very worst experience as me and my group of 10 friends are pure vegans. Even though enquiring of several time and all order confirmation red meat was served in paneer curry.

Good range of very tasty curries

Disappointed!!!! Food was terrible. I've eaten here lots of times over many years, but the food we received on the 3rd May 2024 was awful. We ordered: saag aloo, prawn dhansak, pilau rice and peshawar naan bread. We couldn't eat it and feared becoming unwell.

We chose to eat at the Suhail as they are open at 2.30pm so we were able to eat in the afternoon. Plenty of on site parking is available and the restaurant is clean and well presented. The food was excellent and service was friendly but not pushy. They were happy to accommodate my wife's dietary intolerance without a fuss and without compromising the flavour. We can thoroughly recommend the onion bhaji,the lamb shami kebab, the chicken dansak and the chicken biryani....all beautifully presented and delicious! We would definitely recommend eating here.

Lovely place, food great, fast service, deffently use again

Loved the place and the people but the food was pretty average. Went on a Saturday night as a walk up and got a table for 2 with no problem and we were well looked after. Food arrived extremely quickly, too quickly really as no way it was cooked from anything like fresh but there was plenty of it and the service was really friendly.

After climbing snowdon we drove into Prestatyn and found this little gem the food was delicious staff friendly and attentive great place

This has got to be the worst Indian restaurant we have visited. I ordered chicken Karahi which was tasteless and was more like a stew consistency. The chicken was dry and overcooked too. The service wasn’t great either. We sat at a corner table next to the bar and the waiter kept leaning over the railings at the side to take our plates and wanted them passing to him. Really not sure why this has been voted best in Wales? We’ve had better takeaways. The restaurant is in a nice setting but we definitely won’t be returning again.

Korma was ok, nothing special that we haven't made ourselves before. Mango chutney tasted stale. As you can see from the photos the garlic naan was inedible being burnt underneath and black round the edges. I can't believe that they served it, if I hadn't have got home I've have taken it back. Unfortunately I won't be returning again, very disappointed after reading the reviews

Visted early evening midweek, we were greeted by a very polite member of staff who gave us a choice of tables. We were served promptly both for drinks and our meals.The meals were hot,fresh, tasty and plentiful. The staff checked on us twice during our meal to ensure all was well, they were polite and professional. The building is lovely with plenty of car parking. We will be returning with more family members.

I couldn't fault it ! The whole meal from start to finish was fantastic. The service is excellent, the food outstanding. The curries have no sign of oil on the top like many do...the madras was superb. Their Naan bread is out of this world. Can't praise it enough
