The Royal Spice in Denbighshire

we booked a table for Saturday at 6 pm was worried that there we just 4 people in, shouldn't have been. food and service was excellent restaurant was clean but could have been a little warmer it was zero outside though.

Went in to this place for a cheeky last night take away curry. First thing that I would point out is the hygiene rating on the door is a 3 and the menu is a 4. Quick search of the local food hygiene board and it is a 3 !!! Still having Been to far worse and wanting a curry how bad can it be? 😫 Will wait to see if there is any "fall out" from it tomorrow. Locla who was in there said it can be a bit hit or miss. We ordered two mains rice couple of bread was £27ish. Mains were over £9 each. Staff were friendly and service was fairly quick. When we got back to eat well the chicken looks bought in kind just cut up. The sauces were fairly runny and there was flavour but it wasn't overly pronounced. Rice was kema but fairly boring. Been a while since I had a rubbish curry, this was one of them. Maybe a different night. Maybe a different dish. But looking at both, both slap dashly executed. Glad I am not a local two curry houses both rubbish for different reasons Think the staff need to get them selves in to try some better places in other parts of the country get some ideas and come back with new class.

Had a takeaway delivered to Glyn Ceiriog and I truly can't fault the speed of the delivery, the service nor the food .... I would most definitely recommend the food and i WILL now frequent this establishment

The food was tasteless, the chicken was tough, the Diet Coke was flat, I love a good Indian meal, and in my opinion this has to be the worst I have ever had

We wanted to grab an takeaway curry in Llangollen and went to Royal Spice. I do enjoy a decent curry and have tried lots of different places. Have to say I was really impressed with this place. We walked on and ordered and were told would be 20 minutes for the food (which it was), we could here the food being prepared freshly in the kitchen. There is a small restaurant area which was cosy and clean. The food we had was very impressive, full of flavour and taste and decent sized portions. It was up there with the best curries we have had. It is also very reasonably priced which is nice to see. The venue takes cash or card as payment. If you are looking for a curry in Llangollen it comes highly recommended, we will definitely visit again. Thanks Royal Spice!

We ordered a takeaway for 12 people whilst on holiday. Everything we ordered was spot on, plus extras that they brought. It was delivered in about 45 minutes and the staff, from the young man who took our order, to the delivery guy, was excellent. Very friendly and the food was great. I'd highly recommend a takeaway from Royal Spice.

Had a beautiful meal here on Tuesday night. All three main courses we had were excellent with an exceptionally generous meat to sauce ratio. The naan breads were hands down the best I have ever eaten (I have eaten a lot of Indian food) The staff couldn't do enough for us and we're friendly and attentive without being overbearing and they were happy to make changes to the dishes. I also like that you have to bring your own alcohol. I have eaten a lot of Indian food up and down the country over many years and I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Awesome food and service. Visited from London and found the best biriyani in the town. Alam gave a great service. Definitely recommended.

Most of the food was ok but the chicken in one of the curries was inedible - hard, tasted reheated - ended up in the bin. Won’t risk going here again.

Had a variety of dishes between the two of us. Very well cooked and nicely spiced. Excellent, in obtrusive service. Would I go again? Absolutely! You have to take your own alcohol but there's a Coop store almost opposite.

Fabulous food, fresh and tasty, definitely a must if you visit Llangollen, great service, you've got to try this, sit in or take away,, oh forgot to say bring your own wine and beer 👍👍👍

Food was not the best bland with no flavour Will not be going back in a hurry

The staff were professional and friendly. My vegetarian meal was cooked to perfection with the vegetables retaining their flavours and crunch. Sadly on the day of my visit they were awaiting a delivery and I wasn't able to sample dessert. Hopefully another time.

Great food and lovely service. We just popped in after a hiking on Snowdon. The food was presented so beautifully and it tasted equally good too... real authentic taste. As we were in our casual hiking trousers and t-shirts we were denied entry to a nearby local Indian restaurant in Llangollen!! But Royal Spice was extremely welcoming. The Tikka Naan and the mixed grill were exceptional. Good portion sizes 👌

Had a few takeaways from here,also eaten in, the chicken tikka starter is amazing, the garlic nann was full of garlic couldn't fault it, tarka dall also full of Flavour, if you haven't tryed this place then you should you won't be disappointed, the chef's are friendly and the Waiter is very helpful

We thought we'd try a local curry house takeaway rather than going to our regular in Chirk. Sadly, the food was very poor. My dish was like eating luke warm chicken water. Back to Chirk next time!

Stopped in and ordered so food while passing through the village on Sunday evening food was tasty. Asked for some cutlery with it and to sit down and eat inside but waiter said no it was a take away so ate in my car. There was no body in side the restaurant. It was the only place open on the A5 .

Came here on a Friday night (3/12/21) after booking a table weeks ago. Then - we were the only people eating in! (7 - 8.20). So can't comment on atmosphere.......Lots of people having take aways and deliveries though. However this did mean we had really good service from the friendly waiter. Didn't realise it was a BYO, but no worries, we had soft drinks for a change. Food was lovely and tasty, well presented too. Would definitely come again when in Llangollen and will recommend on strength of the food and service. Many Thanks

Situated on the A5 this little restaurant was a welcomed find. The food was served quickly, tasted delicious and the staff were friendly. Only downside was the don't have an alcohol licence however happy for you take you own which is a win as co-op is directly opposite. Overall a nice event.

Tasteless. Possibly the worst Indian ive ever had.

Nice little curry house on the A5 at Llangollen serving basic authentic food and side dishes. No alcohol served but you can take your own. Reasonable prices and good service, although that may be down to the place being very quiet on a Monday evening. Worth a stop if in the area

Really enjoyed this restaurant, relaxed atmosphere, customers chatting to each other I find this always a good sign of happiness. Clean tidy, quick service. And you could tell the staff were working hard. The food was very tasty, I like hot and normally ask for extra spice but this time I didn't, thank goodness the curry is hot!! But like a curry should be. Bonus! its take your own wine with a coop opposite.

Visited here on 16th sept, food was excellent, nice and tasty, only downside to visit was place needs a good clean, more cobwebs and spiders than a haunted house!

Went on bank holiday Monday for the last eat out to help out day and the food was amazing, couldn't fault the service either seeing as they were so busy at night as well

Ok nothing special food was alright

We were after some quality food after an exhausting day at mount Snowdon. And that's exactly what we got at this curry house. We ordered the lamb naga, and the meat was very tender, however the sauce was too spicy for me (although one should expect that when they order a naga.) Likewise, the chicken tikka biryani was very nice too, and was well complimented by the prawn balti. Having said that, the service was a bit poor, especially when all the dishes were placed on the table with neither serving utensils nor cutlery, leaving us starry-eyed at the well-presented food before us. All in all, it was a satisfactory experience, with nice food. What separates this from the best curry houses is the service, which unfortunately means that "The Royal Spice" warrants a solid 4 star rating.

Delicious food you must try it!

I Came here on holiday from London and I would not recommend this restaurant as there is no texture - just food colouring and the food is artificial. There is no flavour and it just seems microwaved. Avoid it.

The staff are friendly and attentive. We arrived quite early and they would have benefitted from playing some music for atmosphere but it quickly warmed up when others arrived. The food was all well flavoured and substantial enough to take some home.

Staff were extremely friendly and service was excellent. The food was lovely and freshly made. Very clean place. Will defo recommend!
