Quay Fine Dining in Flintshire

We had a meal at this restaurant about 2 months ago and it was delicious so we thought we would get a takeaway from here for our tea. After bringing the food home it was still of a high quality but the keema naan bread had next to no meat in it whatsoever. I really don't get the penny pinching ( I'm not trying to be rude ) but surely if u pay for something u should not be cutting back on quality. We just felt slightly ripped off as the food here is not what u would call cheap, was it really worth cutting back on a naan bread which would have made the meal 5/5 instead of 4/5.

The first time we have visited this restaurant since covid and the fire, which sadly affected the business. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted by Mina and made to feel very welcome straight away after a quick catch-up we ordered our food. For starters, I ordered the quay mixed starter, and my wife, the chicken chat. For the main meal, I ordered mushroom garlic chicken tika chilli balti with keema rice and my wife chicken tikka naga with the highly recommended Indian flavoured chips. The food was fantastic, and the portions were very generous infact we asked for takeaway containers as we could not finish the food. This restaurant is fantastic and highly recommended we will definitely be back soon.

Absolutely beautiful fresh cuisine that didn't disappoint whatsoever . Sham is the perfect host who is polite and charming and is passionate about the food he serves. The restaurant is stylish with a lovely ambiance and the food is very reasonably priced. As good as anything, if not better than any Indian restaurant around this area.

Great service from Nina the boss and excellent food too. Big portions and some of the best curry dishes I’ve had. Chicken Sali, Chicken Sicilian, Butter Chicken and lamb sizzler. All excellent. Stuffed. Great local with corkage for your own booze which was so much easier. Definitely going back.

Welcome back!!!! We have all missed this place. We were counting down the days for the reopen. First of all I would like to say the food was amazing we have given the food 11 out of ten if we could give more we would have done. The new dishes are to die for. Well done team. I have given a 5 star due to the fact that the food and the service are out of this world. Bringing your own alcohol is the added bonus. It is lovely how the chef comes out and speaks to the customers asking how the food was is just a wonderful touch. Now onto the only negative I can give. When I was there with a couple of friends of mine on the Saturday, the restaurant was full as I would expect it with the reputation they have, I didn’t feel comfortable with the fact that the owner of the chip shop (male) comes barging through the doors looking and sounding very aggressive when asking the lovely young gentleman who works there to do something, he doesn’t seem to understand that they are busy and are working extremely hard. We don’t only come for the food but the service we receive from the staff is impeccable, Please Mr chip shop don’t ruin things for the restaurant with your passive aggressive behaviour. Overall a big 5 Star to Quay fine dining, we will definitely be back

I’m not one to really write a review but I felt like I had to. We came on what was a busy Friday night with the family and gosh have we missed this place being open. The food was top notch with the new dishes of the maharajah which was full of flavours and spices (a must try by the way) and the sarlee that is my new favourite and has replaced my forever trusted Massala. The lady and the young gentleman that were serving us were so pleasant and nothing was too much for them. Even with a full restaurant they managed so well between them. They went above and beyond to make sure our evening was perfect. However, I would have given them 5 stars as they deserve but, it was ruined when a gentleman that we recognise from the chip shop next door comes barging in with a face of thunder shouting at the young lady and made us feel very uncomfortable. This wasn’t the only time that night that it happened. A note for him for future, it is no way to speak to a fellow colleague in that way. A note to the young lady, keep smiling because you are an asset to this local business and we are applauding you on behalf of my family for a wonderful evening.

Wow, what a lovely restaurant and owners. Nothing was too much trouble for these wonderful people. One of our party didn't like spicy food and was given different teaspoons of food to try before ordering. It was all about making sure that we enjoyed the food 😋 which was incredible with really good portions. We travelled from just outside Chester but would definitely make the journey regularly to eat here. Thank you so much, Quay Fine Dining. we will be back.

Had a fantastic meal here the other day. I don’t normally write reviews, but I thought the standard of food, atmosphere and service warranted a review. I had a new dish called the Sarlee which was amazing 🤩 you can take your own drink with you which is great as there is a Morrisons right by it and the prices are so reasonable for what is high class food. Would definitely recommend.

6 of us went Saturday night and to be honest I don’t write reviews but I felt I needed too this is the best Indian restaurant I ever been too the food is amazing and the staff are fantastic too you can take your own wine / beer and the prices are great too unbelievable will definitely go again 👍👍👍👍

My family and I went to Quay fine dining for my grandads birthday (He has vascular dementia). They went above and beyond to make us all comfortable and Meena went out of her way to create the most amazing dish for my grandad as she knew that due to his condition he struggles eating and cutting food etc so she made a special dish so that the chicken was so soft and lovely that he could easily eat it and enjoy the meal himself just as much as we was enjoying ours. He gets anxious about going out now due to how he is with his dementia and the physical affects it has on his body that now he is unable to control. They made him feel so so at home and played a huge part in his evening, they really couldn’t have done more if they tried. They really did go out their way and nothing was ever an issue. No other company or restaurant would go to the extremes that they did. The whole team couldn’t have made more special for my grandad, they were amazing with us all and it really has meant an awful lot to us all and I am so thankful for them because they have played a huge part in creating amazing memories for me and my family! All I can say is thank you, for doing more than anyone else would. We will defiantly be back!

Have been going to this restaurant with work colleagues for a few years, food is good but small portions due to the 50% discount. However due to the awful attitude of the owner we will not be going back. My colleague wrote a bad review after our last experience in Sept, again due to rudeness, but we decided to give the restaurant another try as the food is good. The owner refused to serve us after our drinks order had been taken as she recognised my colleague who had left the bad review. She came over to the table and bluntly asked us to leave, which resulted in a heated discussion. There were 8 of us there who were very embarrassed and none of us will return!!!

This hidden restaurant has delicious Indian/Asian food, the staff are very helpful and will change a meal to suit youre needs, if you dont like it too hot and spicy its no problem, cooked fresh to order so when ordering dont expect it in five minutes, but well worth the wait, very reasonable and with the gold ticket even better, we’ve eaten here before and cant fault the staff , food quality , and cleanliness of the restaurant. Would highly recommend quay fine dining, many thanks to the staff who have had a very tough few years with covid etc, and still welcome everyone with a smile

Our first visit, in a group of eight. I expected good food and good service, I was genuinely surprised with excellent food and excellent service. The staff were pleasant and engaging with everyone, a pleasure to be around. The food was also top notch. Definitely one to visit again.

Another lovely meal at this fabulous restaurant with 3 of my girlfriends last night. The food was absolutely delicious and service first class. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners son! Need your curry tweaking then he’ll do this. Currently my favourite local place to eat!

Went here tonight with my wife for the first time we were greeted by a very polite gentleman at the front of house. We decided on the set menu (14.95 each for 3 courses til 6pm) Our drinks and our starters came very quickly and the starters were delicious (onion bhajis and veg samosa’s we shared) there was a nice ambience in the restaurant the whole decor was relaxing and laid back Our mains were equally amazing and we accompanied them with pilau rice and chips would most definitely recommend and will be returning May i add the young man who was our server was very professional and had great customer service and also the lady was extremely helpful with broadening my wife’s culinary experience by bringing out a different curry sauce for her to try for our next visit (she usually sticks to korma)

Knocking a point off for price,not the cheapest,but worth it still.Thought my starter of king prawn tandori was abit much at £7 for 5 small prawns and abit of salad.Apart from that, service was excellent,menu had plenty to choose from and all meals tasted fantastic!Between 3 of us we had, 5 popodoms, 3 starters, 3 mains,chips and 2 rice.Left with bulging bellies!! Just had yet another fabulous meal here. Service is second to none and so friendly. Its the most welcoming place you could wish for. Always a bonus to be able to take your own alcohol. Food is fabulous and so reasonably priced. They are hoping to do a takeaway service during the lockdown we are about to start. Please support this lovely restaurant.

Our meal and experience was left sour after a bright start by the young waiter, but was left shocked when the young lad was multi tasking at the bar juggling the phone and a payment and a gentleman came barging in with a face like thunder saying the foods ready after a very alarming two rings of a bell. Clearly if that gentleman had seen what he managing the phone and us all as customers he wouldn’t be acting the way he was. Simply atrocious! He needs to learn how to deal and communicate with colleagues. We felt sorry for the poor lad left stunned and didn’t know what to do with himself. We just wanted to cuddle him because that was very unfair on him. Keep your head up son, we’ll be coming back just for you.

Myself, my husband and 2 children visited this restaurant last night and felt very safe with current covid worries. They're practising track and trace, wearing masks and there are partitions between each table. Our waitress was very helpful, friendly and chatty (even gave our boys complimentary slush drinks!). I had a Greek dish, beef stifado which was tasty and the meat very tender. Good portion sizes. The boys both had butter chicken but they complained the sauce was too tomatoey! But that was our only complaint. Lovely evening ☺

The words 'Fine Dining' and 'Connah's Quay' don't normally strike me as words that usually belong together, without a sarcastic snigger... But I can't snigger about it anymore because there really is a place of very fine food in Connah's Quay.Went for the first time today with family. I already heard rave recommendations from locals. It is very often full, and it's clear why. Quay Fine Dining food and staff lived up to their excellent reputation. I loved the host too, Nina. She was super kind, really professional and utterly genuine. I wouldn't describe it as an Indian Restaurant as others have, because that's too limiting a description, so I would call it a Fine Dining Restaurant. They cook Greek food, steaks, mixed grills, omelettes. I highly recommend their own cheesecake - it is to die for. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite of our food. Hubby and I enjoyed the Kleftiko, it melted in the mouth. The lamb was so succulent it slipped clean away from the bone with no effort at all. We had starters too. I had a scrumptious halloumi salad. I have to say I was pleased with the portions too. Some places overload your plate but here, the food was so tasty it was all enough. The emphasis is on flavour and enjoyable eating, not pile-it-high-sell-it-cheap. The quality was outstanding. Can't wait to come back. A real treat to eat there. Highly recommended. You'll be glad you went.

I visited quay fine dining 22-8-20 wow wow wow I used to be a secret diner so tend to be an awkward customer to test the service I have eaten at top restaurants ie Marco Pierre white has cooked for me so I know my food and service to be expecting. I ate tandoori salmon starter I had a salmon main with a vegetable rice saag aloo also Keema naan all I can keep saying is wow the flavours in that food is top notch the service was unbelievably good I felt like I was part of their family very reasonable pricing for the quality you receive. my wife Was in food heaven and she is fussy she had a chicken tikka masala which was phenomenal so good I asked for doggy bag For her leftovers took it home and had it for lunch the next day my daughter also is fussy so she had food from the adjoining chip shop so another great thumbs up we can all eat what we want without compromise Very rare find can’t wait to go back which will be very soon thank you too all staff from within that made our night so special and one to not forget

My wife and I had visited previously and arranged a Boxing Day meal while we had family visiting over the festive season.There were 8 in our group (6 adults, 2 kids) and everyone had a very good meal. The family were at first a little confused why we’d gone to the shopping Center (it’s an unassuming little place there) but we’re not at all disappointed when we walked through the door - it’s very well presented and clean.Staff were friendly as ever, made a fuss over the kids bringing them some free ‘magic Christmas’ drinks (slushies, they loved them). The menu has a great range to choose from and everything is delicious from what we’ve sampled so far, some of the best curries Ive had.It’s bring your own beer, and the prices are very reasonable. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.

Today I visited this restaurant with a group of family and friends (table of 11) to celebrate my Grandfather's 80th birthday, the food was amazing but I'm absolutely appalled by both the service they provided and their regulations. For starters this restaurant doesn't provide alcohol but allows alcohol to be brought in which is even better but without warning I had the mixer for my vodka confiscated and wasn't allowed it back until after the meal so I had to run to Morrison's between the first 2 courses. The lady taking our order simply had no customer service skills. When taking my order she was at the opposite end of the table for 11, I stated I didn't want to shout my order across the restaurant to which she responded "it's fine I'll hear you" instead of just moving around the long table like anyone else with common sense. F.y.i I had to shout and repeat all 3 courses multiple times to her because she couldn't hear me...Simply lazy. The set menu that was handed out across the table advertised "free onion bhajis, ask for more details", so I did. The server stated we have to prove we've given a review before and didn't inform us how to. We figured it out and obliged but giving a review before the first course is absolute nonsense and is the only reason this restaurant has a respectable rating. 3 of us asked on 3 separate occasions as to the whereabouts of the free starters, eventually 1 of the 3 was brought over during my main course to which I believe we were even charged for. My other half asked for a jug of tap water, without any warning we were charged for bottled water as they don't provide tap water which is a legal requirement. To top it all off my grandfather wasn't allowed to cut his 80th birthday cake unless we paid a £2 service charge per plate used!!? So essentially £2 per plate washed... My other half never recieved a plate for her main course so should they have paid us £2? We asked if we could just use our dirty plates we already had from our main courses instead to which they refused. Avoid this penny pinching restaurant, don't fall for the fake pre-meal reviews.

Visited here for a special birthday as a party of 11. As we handed over a birthday cake we were greeted with there will be a £2 per person charge for cutting the cake, so a total of £22 for our own cake!!!unbelievable. Also when asked for tap water were told only bottle water available at a charge, this is against the law. What was fantastic food was spoilt by their stupid unreasonable regulations and after being told we could bring in our own drinks they confiscated our coke which we had brought in to have with vodka, without even asking us to put it away and not use it. There again they have no right to confiscate our own belongings, for this reason will never recommend it or return

What a shame. The food was fantastic, but is let down completely by the service and how the restaurant is run. Tonight was an 80th birthday celebration.. a table of 11 family and friends, on arrival with our own birthday cake, we were told that there would be a £2 charge to slice the cake PER PERSON to take into account the extra washing up...that is ridiculous. So at the very start we opted out of finishing the celebration in style. Bringing your own drinks is great (alcoholic only) however what isn't so great is when a diet coke (used for vodka and coke) is confiscated without warning causing us to go out to buy a different form of drink. On asking for tap water we were told on two separate occasions that it is bottled water only which again had a charge... Even a supermarket is legally required to offer free tap water. The server herself was too lazy to walk around the table to take everyone's orders which resulted in people down one end of the table having to shout across everyone in order for her to hear (even after stating they didn't want to shout across the table). The gimmick of getting a free starter if you give a review is great.. however we are made to prove we have given a review before we have eaten to benefit, so very pointless and an unwelcome form of advertising. The plates are brought out after the food leaving very little room, I myself never actually received a plate so resorted to eating off a side dish plate, at this point I'd given up expecting little else. Overall the experience was awful, there were no signs of customer service skills, completely robotic and seemingly a money orientated business.. will not be back and would not recommend.

What a shame, although the food was lovely. Our experience was ruined at the end of the evening. A plate was broken by accident and the restaurant decided to sneak a £10 fee for the plate on our bill at the end with no notification. We visited this restaurant as a party of 16. Unfortunately a plate got broken which was no fault of anyones, it was red hot, and a bottle of wine knocked onto it and it broke. At the end of the meal our bill came with a charge of £10 for the plate!!! Never have any of us ever been charged for broken table ware, isnt that what occasionally happens when your serving food on plates?!! Unfortunately the owner is a typical business lady who rates money more than customer service. We for sure will not be returning and neither will the rest of the party.

What a shame the food was lovely we had a party of 16 went and a plate got broke which was an accident and then they put it on our bill £10 at the end Absolutely ridiculous we had a great evening and that put a sour note on the whole night. Well done you now have 16 people who will not return to your restaurant!
