The best restaurants serving Indian food in City Bradford Yorkshire and The Humber

Called here again today, only my second time but in as many weeks. We had lamb chops to start which were delicious. Mains were chicken karahi, chicken and keema karahi with chapatis, both were quality, full of flavour with a good slow burn going on. This is proper food served by friendly people. Highly recommended.

Basic fayre, ordered takeaway from Morley St, Tarka dhal was poor, nothing like it should be, spices didn’t have that wow factor, ordered CTM, chicken Peshwari and bhindhi lamb, not keeping up to Bradford’s high standards, Punjab Retaurant is far far better for taste buds. Shame as when dined at restaurant the food was better.

Its awesome restaurant I don't feel any customers service issue as I used visit almost every Friday evening. Highly recommended who would like to have authentic Indian curry.

I can’t thank Anjali at Janan Cafe enough for her incredible help and kindness. I had accidentally left my bag in the Janan clothing shop, and despite calling the store several times over several days, no one ever picked up. I also tried messaging via Facebook and emailing customer service, but only received delayed responses. Out of desperation, I called the Janan Cafe next door — and thankfully, Anjali answered. She immediately reassured me that my bag was there, gave me her personal number, and stayed in touch with me over the next couple of weeks as I live two hours away and couldn’t get there right away. When I finally made it back to the store, Anjali had kept my bag safe the entire time. I’m so grateful for her honesty, integrity, and the care she showed throughout the whole experience. She went above and beyond, and she’s a true asset to Janan. Thank you, Anjali!

Lovely little food spot close to Bradford Town and walking distance from Uni/College. The staff and host were very lovely and accommodating. One of the host was called Sikander (sorry if spelt wrong), he was well mannered, calm and attentive to the table and other diners. The food was delicious, came out to the table quite quickly too, the portion sizes were big/decent. The atmosphere was calm, so made a pleasant dining experience. Noise level was low, so was good if you want to head there and actually have nice food and a chat with friends/family. The only thing I would mention is for payment method, one person pays full cash for the table or one person pays via card. They dont have the option to do split bills for a table with multiple people. So keep this in mind. This didn't hinder anything while we were there but something to note for a next visit!

Whilst the food at Lala's was great, the overall experience could have been greatly improved. As a popular restaurant, the waiting area was extremely crowded with not enough seating and too much noise from the music blasting over the speakers. The dining area was also very noisy (again due to the music) and poorly lit. The layout of the tables meant staff and customers were constantly squeezing past us as we were eating. The food itself arrived surprisingly quickly considering how busy it was, however the service was rushed and quite thoughtless. The staff literally handed us hot dishes, expecting us to make space on a table which was too small for a family of four. We also had to ask them to take away our empty plates rather than them proactively offering. The food was very good – big portions, fresh ingredients and very filling (highly recommend the dynamite prawns as a starter). We also enjoyed two of their mocktails which were really refreshing and not excessively sweet. Unfortunately, the atmosphere and impersonal service have put me off returning, but the food is definitely worth a try at least once.
