Lovely Staff Fantastic food made fresh would and have recommended the Kun to family and friends.

Wanted to try this relatively new restaurant after reading reviews here and elsewhere online. Having been, I can agree with both the good and bad reviews I read. Good - tasty food, welcoming staff, well priced. The green chicken was absolutely delicious! Bad - various items not available on the menu, no rice arrived for my daughter’s curry. The service was not super speedy, but we prefer a leisurely meal so it was fine for us. Would I recommend to others - probably yes. Will I be rushing to return - probably no.

To start with the place is freezing cold. Took too long to bring even the starter out, after an hour of waiting we were told they didn't have some of the options we'd chosen. Didn't stay after this. Kids were tired and obviously hungry so had to resort to getting takeout from elsewhere. They're clearly very short staffed here. Can't comment on the food as didn't try any of it, but I doubt it would've been worth a 1-2 hour wait.

An awful dining experience completely spoilt my birthday meal.. We arrived having booked a table.. Booked 2 weeks before etc.. Only sorted tables out as we arrives.. Put us in the conservatory part of the setup which was very cold.. We ordered starters.. Was told the seafood platter was not available because of the weather so we ordered 2 meat and 1 veg platter.. 30 minutes later she came back and said no veg platter.. Starters arrived after an hour, after we had eaten the chips arrived!!! the starters were fairly good.. When we highlighted this to the manageress she was incredibly rude and abrupt. Then we the mains came progressively but my main came 25 minutes after everyone else.. There was nothing wring with the food but the service was atrocious.. after checking with the head chef who explained that they had some serious staffing issues etc he knocked a fair amount off the bill.and showed us the waitress handwritten scrawl- which was virtually unintelligible.. No repeat visit necessarily

We went for my birthday meal. We ordered the starters and was told that they did not have x items. So we order another 25 mins later, the waitress came & said that item was not in stock.. Starters came after about an hour & 10 minutes.. We ordered 2 chips with our starters but they arrived after we had eaten our starters. The manageress showed no empathy The food was okay! The mains arrived 2 hours from when we arrived.. 5 of 6 mains arrived within 5 minutes but mine came 20 minutes after.. I spoke with the Head chef and one of the waiters who were very apologetic and explained about stock and staffing issues.. They did knock some money off but sadly that did not alleviate the incredibly poor service throughout the meal.. Not sure about risking a second visit!!!

Food wasn’t bad but waiting time was almost 2hrs. Need to invest in more chefs. 1 chef working away on his own is going to cause delays. They were short staffed which is understandable, these things happen. But please make people aware at the door how long the food time is because some people aren’t willing to wait that long. Communicate with your customers and tell them that the food will take over an hour. Everyone at the restaurant was really fed up as they were waiting for hours.

Nice place, the chef was very nice and welcoming, he didn’t charge us for the halloumi as he said he didn’t have enough of a portion (he was honest and we wouldn’t have known the difference in portion size), food did take a little while but you could see it was only 1 chef cooking so that’s understandable. The chicken tempura were really nice, and the lamb chops, we ordered the lamb Karahi (options were medium/mild/hot), we went for medium but it was super spicy, chef did advise he only uses fresh green chillier (clean spice) but it was extremely tasty but very spicy at same time. Overall 9/10 for food, 7/10 for atmosphere (was v cold inside and quite tight spaced), 6/10 waiting time for food (chef did come out and let us know how long food was taking and as mentioned he was the only one cooking). Chef was overall very welcoming and also provided quality streets chocolate after. Would go again though.

Embarrassing! Starters took over an hour mains nearly 2 very poor service no communication from the staff, waiters lost messing up orders, let us know the food we had ordered wasnt available after 40 minutes

Unfortunately the wait for food was just too long at approx 1.5 hrs for two of us. There can be no excuses about being busy as there was only one other table (3 people) on arrival. As per the food see below: Lamb chops tough and chewy so should be avoided. Green herb chicken was nice Seekh kebab - below acceptable standard and tasted like supermarket frozen kebab unfortunately. Butter chicken - this is the poorest attempt at butter chicken I've tried. Not creamy or flavourful however the chicken was cooked well Lamb Karahi - just tasted bland with some spice added but lacked actual flavour, however the lamb was tender Naan - this was nice. Also as I took the curries home I also got the verdict of other family members to see if this was just me and without offering my own opinion I was told the curries lacked flavour by everyone that tried them. To be successful and compete against other curry houses in Bradford I recommend as a first step looking at ways to increase the speed in getting food to customers. Also as a second suggestion some of the recipes may need adjusting and I suggest without bias that the owners compare their dishes to other established curry houses for ways to improve.

We had a fantastic meal here last night. Ingredients fresh and excellent quality. Some different delicious options on the menu and very reasonably priced. The owner is also the chef and is passionate/takes great pride in his restaurant and food. We will definitely be back to try the steak.

Off the main strip ,but outstanding food - real gem of a find within Bradfird. Highly recommended 👌

Overpriced for Bradford and small potions . £8 for a portion of so called dynamite prawns . Tasted nothing like what dynamite prawns should be and only 3 prawns , ridiculous . Starters took over one hour to come . There was a five minute power cut throughout the building so we were eating in the dark and there was no apology or compensation offered . Will not be returning to eat there anytime soon .

Excellent service, value for money, the food was absolutely exquisite. This restaurant is such a hidden gem we all throughly enjoyed our food and will definitely be visiting again. The interior design is stunning and the menu has such a vast variety. Thank you Kun xxx

Delicious, authentic, cooked to order food at a reasonable price.

The tandoori chicken is another standout dish. The chicken is so juicy and flavorful, and pairs perfectly with a side of mint chutney.

A calm and relaxed atmosphere friendly, family run restaurant. The food was traditional tasting and excellent quality.

As someone who loves Indian cuisine, I can confidently say that Kun Halal Grill & Bistro is one of the best restaurants I've been to. The dishes are authentic and delicious, and the prices are reasonable.

I'd give this restaurant 0 stars If it was an option!!! Terrible service never again... After we were seated we waited 20 minutes for the waitor to take our order, we were then told they didn't have anything we wanted such as no mocktails or the vegetarian platter that is still on their menu, unbeknown to us they've stopped doing that and some other items on the menu such as spaghetti bolognese, because noone orders that. They didn't even have bottled water. We then had to change our order and waited an hour and still no starters had come. we then called the waiter to ask how long our food would be and he said the chef hadn't even started making our food. ... AN HOUR LATER! There was one waiter, one chef. we left after paying for overpriced cans of coke!!! Terrible service they need more staff

AVOID AT ALL COST!! Absolutely shambolic and that would be giving credit to shambles. Arrived with 2 young children. Waited over an hour and a half for food which was NASTY! BUT apparently fresh...asked for free drinks as a common courtesy while waiting over an hour which the waiter said he would ask and then never came back and didn't give. Toilets were disgusting with hair on the toilet seat. Asked for a discount on the bill for our long wait but the staff were so rude it was unbelievable! I even mentioned we had two young children and he said I should have ordered their food 1st which I did , yet it cane out last. Would never ever go again and would never recommend. It should be called Mayoos Kun instead as it was far from Kun. It deserved a minus review. And don't even bother offering a discount now as you have to previous as I will never again even by mistake come here again.

If I could give a minus, I really would…giving a 1 in itself is frustrating. I’m absolutely disgusted at the customer service by the waiter and the chef himself. For the waiting times at this restaurant, I am appalled at the quality of food served. I ordered a portion of fish and chips, chicken jalfrezi and a chicken burger. The waiter did not tell us that the food would take over an hour - even though he could clearly see that we have two children with us. We told the waiter we would like the food to come out as soon as it was ready, this took over an hour to come out and it wasn’t even nice - nice being an overstatement. The food was overpriced for the quality that was provided and when paying, the chef calculated the bill and gave it to us. When we was at the till, we asked for some sort of discount for the tasteless food and the waiting time, the chef told us that we should’ve told them that we had 2 kids regardless of telling the waiter to bring it as soon as it was ready because we have kids with us. I’m sorry but do you require a visit to specsavers to see two kids. I told the chef that I’ve been a waitress and he rudely interrupted me and said “I don’t care if you’ve been a waiter or not”. I continued speaking and told him that as a waitress I know that it is the waiters job to tell the customers how long the food is going to be if it is over 45 minutes. He continued to say that he didn’t care. No discount was given and no apology was given, instead we was spoken to rudely and told constantly that the chef didn’t care about the waiting time or our opinion. 110% WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

What an amazing gem hidden in Bradford. You will be torn to choose between the steaks or a curry. Please try the true angus steak with freshly made peppercorn sauce and veg. And for next time try the curry. You will not be disappointed

Was first time visiting the restaurant and was not disappointed. Have had takeout from here previously and have always enjoyed their food. We booked our table in advance and had absolutely no issues in being seated and wait times for food was what you would expect in a restaurant. Staff were courteous and attentive. Portions sizes looked deceptively small but between our group we ended up packing food up to take home as we were delightfully full. Cleanliness was top notch and the decor was cute. Had a homely feel. Any requests we made, staff were happy to accommodate. Thoroughly enjoyed our dine in experience and look forward to coming again.

Went towards closing time and the owner was more than accommodating; stayed opened 1hr 15mins longer for us. Brilliant customer service by the owner who spoke to us , food was also absolutely on point and would definitely recommend and will be going again in the nearer Future

We googled which restaurant served the best food kun restaurant came up so we thought we would try it. The food was amazing, freshly cooked and the service was excellent. beautiful restaurant amazing owners really friendly I would highly recommend this to public try it out for yourself

Food is absolutely lovely here. Everything is fresh and well worth it. We were allowed to take our own alcohol 🍻which was appreciated. We were celebrating a birthday and they even brought out a cake 🍰 at the end with candles in. The kids food was great, fresh fingers, not frozen like you would get in other places. Starters are lovely, especially the onion bargees! I couldn't fault the food at all. Tbh I was surprised how quiet it was with how good this food is. Portions are not massive and service was a little slow. The food was good, I felt the flavours for the chicken Karahi could have been a little stronger. Meat dish and naan breads were lovely. The service was very friendly and everything was reasonably priced. Would definitely go back!

Just had the best steak in Bradford. Meat was cooked to perfection. The steak source was delicious. 10/10 and will be back here again. Highly recommend to all.

Nice to see a bit of cooking from scratch with fresh ingredients for a change. Very tasty meal. Friendly chatty owners. Main dish was a bit small for me but I believe they do say quality over quantity and I’m known for my rather large appetite

Went here yesterday and have to say the food was absolutely spot on. Quality meat and flavourful. We had the lamb with saag and also chicken karahi. Starters both meat and sea food were 10/10. Our 2 normal places for pretheatre meals have closed down. First time trying kun.like most near alhambra they do not serve alcohol. The curries were so tasty, best poppadoms tasted in a while and nans lovely. Really welcoming homely feel and freshly cooked. We will be back!

My friend and I were in Bradford and saw this this place online and the reviews were good and I can say it did not disappoint the food was amazing and the portion size was great highly recommend

Visited this place with some friends. There was no one else in apart from another family but despite this our food took a very long time to come approx 1 hour wait for our mains. We ordered drinks, I ordered the strawberry dream mocktail which was recommended by the waitress. The drink did not match the description on the menu. It was simply a mixture of a carton juice with ice and some syrup, there as no blend of actual fruit as stated on the menu. When placing our order we were told that several items that we wanted were not available which was disappointing. We then chose other things that were available and even then, the chef came out and told us one of the things we had ordered were not available so we still had to choose an alternative. Our starters were standard, nothing special at all, not worth the price. Some of the things were quite tasteless lacking seasoning. It took approx an hour for our mains to arrive after our starters and we couldn’t understand why because there was only one other family in the place at the time. I think there is only one chef who makes all the food as the kitchen is an open kitchen. We ordered a a sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce. firstly, the food was all cold, the steak was awful lacking any sort of taste. The peppercorn sauce which we ordered separately tasted like a mixture of gravy with some pepper, it did not look like the creamy peppercorn sauce that I’ve seen as advertised on their instagram page, it was a complete different colour. On the menu the it stated that the steak comes with grilled tomato’s but there was non on our place. So for £20.50 we got a small size steak which had a lot on fat on, a small handful of cold fries and 4 salad leaves. Absolutely not worth the price. Did not enjoy it, I would not recommend it nor would I ever go back.

Been twice. The food is excellent and you can’t fault it but the service wasn’t! The first time I went a young lad served us. He was amazing. I wish I had taken his name. He explained the menu and what he wasn’t sure of, he got the chef to explain. He was available throughout the evening. The chef and his mrs (I think) were super friendly and took time to chat to us and explain their menu. Second time we went, the older gentleman wasn’t as welcoming. He took too long to take our order. He had no recommendation for us. Kept forgetting how many naans we had ordered. I had to shout three times to get his attention after saying excuse me multiple time. The food is amazing. Portion size could be bigger or at least have the option to go large. But the taste you cannot fault. I wish they made it a little less spicy. I’ll be more specific next time. The best lamb chops I have tasted in my life. Their lamb is actually baby spring lamb not like other restaurants who advertise lamb but se mutton. Ordered lamb karahi on the bone and it just melted. Love the taste, but need the younger gentleman back for service.

I visited here for the first time with a friend after work. We were both new to the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised at the food. We ordered 2 starters; chicken cheese balls and lamb chops and two main dishes; lamb karahi and butter chicken with garlic naans. We asked the chef to make these extra spicy and he delivered. The food was freshly cooked, yummy and had the perfect level of spice. Our food was excellent and we would definitely visit here again. My friend did order ask for a mocktail however was unable to order as they were short staffed and the person making mocktails was sick. This was a shame but did in no way ruin the meal and I can only imagine that the mocktails would have been amazing as the food. The staff at the restaurant were very polite, professional, hospitable and accommodated to our needs. A must have for those who love Indian cuisine.

This was such a lovely experience, such friendly staff and a lovely ambiance, perfect for large gathering or even couple as the seats can be altered easily. Nimra was a star, thank you for taking care of us. Food was amazing- do try the lamb karai, chicken pakoras and drinks were all refreshing and smooth. Will definitely visit again, thinking of trying out the hot drinks next time.

We had an amazing meal here today. We were looking for an authentic, fresh and tasty curry and Kun's didn't disappoint. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional. The chef even came out to speak to us to help us decide what to eat. There is an open kitchen and it is absolutely spotless, as is the rest of the restaurant. You can tell that their business is a real labour of love. Would definitely recommend!

We had an absolutely delicious meal. The use of spices was skilled and delicate. I was very impressed. The staff were friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this restaurant. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own.

Food is authentic and reasonably priced

Didn’t rate this place at all. Firstly deco was dead , I don’t think owners decorated when they took over. The portions were ridiculously small, lacked flavour and authenticity, nothing special. We got a few starters and one main between two of us . Service seemed to take forever not friendly service by staff .. don’t think we will visit again

The starter was gorgeous prawns , onion bhaji & chicken pakora ✅ the mains lovely & fresh not too oily & lots of meat very tasty everything was red hot & fresh . The place is lovely & clean the staff very friendly one waiter ( small one ) made us feel a bit rushed asking if we where ready for the bill !! the bigger waiter was lovely friendly and chatty ✅ it's a shame it was super quiet as there is plenty of parking & well worth a visit .. maybe some discount vouchers or offers to get the ola e known and fill the place . 9/10 from us .. For an Indian restaurant in Bradford they have a lot of competition and need to step up their game. Nothing stood out, food was mediocre and decor needs a revamp.

I visited Kun yesterday and it was such a lovely experience. We ordered the lamb on the bone, lamb biryani and a tarka daal. It was actually the best curry I've had in Bradford. The decor is nice and the staff go over and beyond. The chef and front of house staff were very friendly. I will be back!

We went for a family meal and were pleasantly surprised. Good quality fresh food. Impeccable food combined with excellent service. Thank you Team Kun keep up the good work.

Brilliant service was straight to us with menu’s soon as we walked, lovely food fast to come out wait time isn’t long at all would definitely recommend.

Lovely bunch of people as family run, however sadly and hate and hate to say it, they cannot attend to more than one table in one hour as time I went, the restaurant was empty almost with one or two other tables. We waited 1.5 hours with the start time I noted and did not leave a restaurant till two hours later. This is the longest as a couple we have been in a restaurant and we missed the movie due to this. The wagyu burger was nice but the karahi was subpar with no ginger or coriander for a ‘Karahi’ dish. I did not see anything different or better in their food than any other standard restaurant. They may pick up if they improve the 1 table per hour service which they believe is totally fine as they say ‘sorry just want to he honest it’ll be 1 hour to bring food to your table’. This would not only put anyone of coming due to post dinner plans but especially families with kids as noted with other reviews. I pray for your sucess as very nice people just wish they’d pick up on better food quality and definelty better service. Sticking to Akbars for now!.

Been there last night, very disappointed, food portion quality isn't to Bradford standard, £10 a dish as soon I put the spoon hit the bottom of the metal bowl 😅 We Been upstairs on our own, smoke was killing us, we have to call the restaurant to tell them can someone please take our order, waited over hour before things started to come but rice missing, nan, missing, wrong dish, eventually rice came but we can see someone put the finger in to check if 8ts warm lol, nan came after 30 minutes, than they don't have this and that 😢 anyway we were disappointed thst we wasted 2 hours 😔 than bloody ending up going for dessert because we were disappointed and still hungry, Seriously if you wanna do business in Bradford quality food and portion has to be looked at plus timing and how to get things out all together, We won't be going but hope things improve, by the way we have been in this trade over 30 years ...no hard feelings....all the best...

One of the worst places I have ever been too. Service was awful, owner doesn't know how to attend to guests even with an empty restaurant. Mains were forgotten about and came 1 hour later after releasing the chef never got our order. Would never come here again. Granted the starters were okay.

A visit here with my wife and children and the food was above our expectations! A family run business with a very warm welcome from both the owner and staff. Would highly recommend for a both family and friends.

Seen details for this food place on T&A boasting how well the restaurant is doing, we was not disappointed! We had such a warm welcome from the owner and her daughter, along with professional friendly waitresses. Would highly recommend for delicious food and service!

Really don't enjoy leaving such a bad a review but we had an evening that was ruined. We had a table booked, we ordered our food, after 55 mins we still hadn't received our starters, we asked and was told it would be a few minutes and apologised. We waited a further 10 mins and still no sign, this time one lady said they had been a mix up, the other lady said she didn't know why!? We then saw food go out to other tables and still no starters for us.we then got up to leave as this was ridiculous. Waiting over a hour for food. The restaurant wasn't even busy. We have never experienced anything like this. Also just a tip for servers, please tie your hair back, when you were bringing food out to other customers your hair was nearly in their food, also in the toilet having a hand towel is not hygienic. Also the staff looked very unprofessional in their own clothes. Such a shame, we spoke to another table who were lucky enough to have food and they said their food wasn't very hot but didn't want to complain as they had waited so long as well. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, our nught out celebrating was spoil

First time visiting last night. Wow! Loved it. Read some reviews about the service being poor but in our experience our party of 4 couldn't have received better! A lovely unpretentious place with a chilled vibe. Most importantly the food. We all commented on how good our curry dishes tasted. My wife even said hers was the best ever!! Lovely owners that had time for a chat. Hope this place does well; it deserves to.

First time trying Kun, I ordered a takeaway but I was disappointed. We ordered the meat sharing platter which stated it contains green chicken tikka, Morrocan spiced lamb chops, gulafi kebab, tempura chicken and mala chicken tikka for £15 - when opened I discovered that there were no lamb chops or chicken tempura inside. I also ordered butter chicken curry, my husband ordered chicken bhuna, and we both ordered the naan breads. Curries were £10 each and you could choose rice or naan bread. My butter chicken was very tomatoey and not creamy at all. I phoned the restaurant about the starter and was told that they had run out of lamb chops but had put extra meat in instead, I explained that lamb chops were my favourite thing and they said that they would send some in an hours time as they had had to go get some more. I mentioned that they could have rung me to let me know. Husband said that his curry was very spicy. I did receive lamb chops an hour later. I will try here again but probably telephone them first to check they have what I want first.

Went there last night for a meal. It's a lovely place. The staff were very friendly..and I must say that the food that we had. Was fantastic..one of the best restaurants that I've been too and what a fantastic chef. Highly recommended..

First time here. Food was great. Wait was a tad long but it’s to be expected as it’s a small family run business, but don’t let that put you off. Have a bit of patience, it worth the wait for the food that’s cooked fresh. Wanted the Angus beef sirloin but unfortunately they had run out, so will be going back again for that. All in all can’t fault it. Remember people have a bit of patience. Keep in mind it’s a small family run business and needs more time to establish themselves.

Spices are excellently blended there is a calm and tranquil ambience finest ingredients and attention to detail very impressed

The vibes inside were so nice and cosy. The staff were lovely and attentive. I took my family with me and we enjoyed ourselves Alhamdulilah. Would definitely recommend to others❤️

I’m taking my time to write this review best food I ever had I can say with all my heart I will definitely be coming here again service was really good their mock tails were very different and absolutely delicious best mock tails I had food was freshly cooked and tasted amazing their cheese naan were really good and tandoori paratha was out of world gol gappay had two different chutneys which I never had before everywhere I went they only give one imlee pani definitely delicious food as the curries were freshly cooked the restaurant gave a homely vibe which you don’t get a in many places the atmosphere was lovely

Went there first time on saturday was very busy place was packed. staff very polite and friendly food was delicious there was a little wait as very busy but the food was delicious so it made it worth while defiantly recommended
