The best restaurants serving Indian food in South West

If you just glanced at the shopfront, you might walk past & not try it. You would be wholly wrong. This place has a 5* hygiene rating & you can see the kitchen. Yes the decor is tired, and there are supplies piled inside the front door, but the quality of the food is exceptional, and the prices reflect the takeaway/delivery only format, so a bargain. We were having a party with a number of vegetarian & vegan guests. The owner took extreme care to get the order right and to clearly label the particular vegan items for our guests’ comfort (even the complimentary pickles/sauces). When someone goes to that much trouble, you know that they really care about delivering a fantastic meal - which it was! Best sag paneer I’ve ever had. The guests loved and raved about all of the food & we’ll definitely go back. Just to note, this place prefers cash so they have a £15 minimum to pay by card. Takeaway or delivery only.

Went into town with daughter and grandchildren and thought we would stop and have some lunch. This cafe used be to lovely with beautiful teapots, cups etc. well it must have changed hands as it’s more like a transport cafe. Anyway we went in and was very surprised at the quality and quantity of the food. All our plates were empty, the staff were lovely and friendly as well. Don’t be put off by the look of the place and decor. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be going back.

We had booked a table and was greeted at the door on arrival and shown to the table. The restaurant was fairly busy and the atmosphere was vibrant.we had to wait a little while for our drinks and a menu, The staff appeared to be a little disorganised but friendly ( this is a new venture and has only been open a few weeks ) The food was tasty and nicely presented with ample portions. Good Covid hygiene was in evidence . As an Indian restaurant this ranks as one of the best that I've visited for food outside of London A must visit for all those that enjoy good food.

Hubby and I have stayed in Plaitford for 4 weeks and have had 2 takeaways from Royal Jaipur. Service both times has been fantastic and their food is absolutely delicious. Their keema naan has more meat in it than I have ever had before and is really tasty. Dishes are seasoned beautifully and the portions sizes are certainly large enough to satisfy. Highly recommend 👌

Excellent food, very good choice at a fair price, delivered on time. Only minor comment, the Onion Bhajis were quite greasy, however this is not that unusual.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here the other night - it was all very fresh and the spices were very well balanced. Delicious paneer options and we were very impressed with the naan. By comparison to others, this is perhaps the closest in taste to the authentic flavours of India and Nepal. Glad to have this as our local and we'll be back in a heartbeat. My partner and I went to India Zones for the first time tonight and we thought it was absolutely excellent! From the warm welcome, to recommendations, beautiful presentation and outstanding flavours, it was all flawless and so delicious! Cannot wait to return and try more dishes.

Unfortunately it was 3rd time unlucky for us. The estimated 70 mins for delivery ended up being over 2 hours. The rice was missing from the order, they offered to deliver some but the meal would have been cold so we asked for a refund on it. Refund came the next day but was less than we'd paid for the rice. Disappointed, probably won't be using again.

Poisoned and robbed. Only explanation is fake reviews. Average curry at exhaustionate prices. For the prices they charge I expect white table cloths, a full bar, more than 1 waiter and a hot towel following the meal. The environment is pretty grotty too. For a no frills curry the price is too high. £10 for 4 papads and a pickle tray is robery. Avoid
