India Zones in Gloucester

My partner and I went to India Zones for the first time tonight and we thought it was absolutely excellent! From the warm welcome, to recommendations, beautiful presentation and outstanding flavours, it was all flawless and so delicious! Cannot wait to return and try more dishes.

From the warm greeting to the final goodbye this was a memorable evening out, the food was just beautiful and service was excellent. One of the best Indian meals we have experienced, clearly home cooked, fresh produce and quite authentic, beautifully spiced and the meats (lamb and chicken) were melt in the mouth tender. Probably worth calling beforehand to book a table particularly at the weekend or you may be severely disappointed. The only difficulty is parking in the area but don’t let that put you off, it was just slightly more difficult for us due to walking difficulties.

Wow, possibly the best Indian food I have tasted, including food in India itself. The only thing to rival the food is the fantastic staff, helpful, attentive and friendly. The food is sublime, beautifully presented and spiced to perfection. We will definitely be visiting again.

This is possibly the best Indian Restaurant I have ever eaten in. The menu is shorter than most (which is a good thing as they can do each dish really well), and each dish I’ve tried (over 10 visits now) has been exquisite. The flavours are really well balanced, the food is cooked perfectly, and the service is attentive but not intrusive; they also understand when you want a slow meal and are happy to set the pace accordingly. Drinks are reasonably priced and the wine by the glass are decent wines (which is rare in an Indian Restaurant).

Came here on a team night out. Curries were excellent and the staff were great. I had the chicken madras which was delicious.

We ate very early in the evening hence the review for atmosphere. The service was amazing, the servers could not have done more. As for the food, well, it was delicious. Honestly, it was probably one of the best Indian meals I have ever had. Will be returning very soon.

Really nice food, had the Caldeen prawns with seabass and a peshwari nann and it was one of the best curries I had in a while. There were 20 of us as well and they managed us well.

Decided to try this restaurant for hubbys birthday. Was greeted as soon as we walked in, under new ownership. Very friendly staff. Menu really nice , the meals we picked were amazing . We were given free starters as the one meal we chose took a little longer than the other. Didn’t disappoint. We will return.

The right amount of attentiveness, good food and good service.

Great curry and great service. I've recently moved back to Gloucester and have tried to find a replacement for my old local, without much luck - had a couple of so-so curries. But then I tried this place and it's absolutely cracking, for both eating in and deliveries. Really have no negatives to say about the place. Perfect.

Actually we were on our way to another restaurant and passed this small cosy restaurant. Looked the menu and had to try the food ... It's very nicely decorated and beautiful instrumental music playing at the right volume . The food ..wow ...was amazing . All served up really well and good proportion too . You must try the chilli and garlic nan . 😋 The service very nice and in a professional manner too. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Gloucester. !!!

My partner and I attended this restaurant for his birthday meal today. Wow, we were both so impressed with the food, staff and service. The restaurant was welcoming and clean. The staff that was taking care of us were all lovely and helpful. The food was excellent, the meat was so tender and everything had so much flavour. Thank you very much for a perfect meal, we will definitely be back.

Travelled down from Birmingham so no stranger to a good curry. The curry we had was outstanding. Very authentic. Nice wine. Good food great atmosphere. Staff extremely friendly and helpful with the menu. Definitely will revisit if ever back in Gloucester

When the restaurant first opened I ordered a takeaway. To be honest I was not impressed and did not go back until last night as a number of friends were telling me how good the food was. Well, it was fantastic and highly enjoyable. We had three different main dishes, chicken malabar, the lamb shank and the specialty curry served with vermicelli noodles. They were all excellent but the peppery sauce of the Malabar was my favorite. Very pleasant staff and friendly service and we will be back.

We came to this restaurant for a family meet up and my 70th birthday last Saturday.The food was amazing,service superb even a birthday plate.I was so pleased we had chosen your restaurant as I used to live in Gloucester but now am in West wales.I would recommend to anyone.

A very nice discovery. An Indian restaurant that stands out from the others for the attention paid to the preparation of the plate. Refined cuisine. On the walls, photos of India that make you want to discover this country. Warm and professional welcome and service. Very commercial. We highly recommend.

Probably the best curry I have had in a long time. Service was extremely friendly and courteous. It might not look like much from the outside but would highly recommend giving it a go.

By far and away the finest Indian restaurant in the county. Dishes are imaginative and beautifully presented. Importantly the flavours are fresh and really shine. Service is friendly and cheerful making the all round dining experience an absolute delight. If I could give this restaurant extra stars I would do so. Very strongly recommended

I was recommended to try India Zones after a disappointing fish curry with some friend's at Pasha's in Longlevens. I wasn't disappointed. I had the seabass and prawn curry which was the most flavoursome curry I've ever had. Delicious! I had it without rice, which suited my choice as it contained potatoes. The meal size was ok but some would be looking for more. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Service was excellent, although maybe a little fast if looking for a more leisurely meal. I would definitely recommend visiting.

We ordered Tandoori Chicken, Caldeen of Prawns with Sea Bass, Malabar Chicken, plain nann and cheese nann. All were very good. I like the Caldeen of Prawns with Sea Bass the most personally. The atmosphere was good. The staff was friendly and helpful, and gave us good recommendations as we were the first time visitors. Highly recommend!

Great food with great service. Absolutely 5 stars for me and my family.

A wonderful experience. The food was amazing. The samosas are the best I’ve ever had—shaped like little volcanoes with a delicious slightly spicy sauce surrounded by chick peas. The waiter suggested lamb malabar when I said I like lamb vindaloo but it’s too spicy for my wife. It is now my favorite Indian lamb dish. (The lamb starter is also amazing.) Both kinds of dal are creamy and delicious. Service was perfect. The cobra beer on tap is a great accompaniment to Indian food. We visited twice during a one-week trip sojourn in Gloucester, first just my wife and me, and then with a group for a birthday celebration. At least 16 others in our group also visited the restaurant based on my report after our first dinner. Everyone loved it. Also, the staff and owner are lovely people completely committed to great hospitality.

I stopped in here on a Sunday, after a long hike from London. The staff were super friendly and polite. The service was impeccable and speedy. The food was first class, especially the naan bread! Will visit again when back in Gloucester :)

The food here was much better than some Indian restaurants I have been to lately and that is quite a few.

They won’t disappoint on any front. They even surprised my wife with birthday song and cake without asking.

I recommend Chilli fish for appetizers and vindaloo chicken and Dal Makhni for entree with Naan and rice. Service and suggestions by Alex were excellent!

By far the best Indian cuisine I've had in England, and it was easily in the top 3 of tikka masala dishes that have ever made it to my mouth. The quality of the spices is second to none, and that is clear as soon you walk through the door. The flavors are bold and savory and clearly not tainted by sugar. The rice couldn't have been prepared any better. The meat is clearly chosen for quality, and everything was cooked perfectly. This little joint is 100% L.E.G.I.T.

I was pleasantly surprised by a professional staff that exceeded every need once our group of 8 arrived. The food was nicely plated and presented like it was from a Michelin rated restaurant. The food was very aromatic and excellently made and worthy of a repeat visit. This was one of the best restaurants I have been to and thoroughly enjoyed the complete visit and meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any and all who enjoy authentic Indian food.

Decided to try this after a recommendation from a friend, i have not used this restaurant in 17 years. So glad I listened to the recommendation as it is the best Indian we have eaten in a long time. We will be back and will most likely try it for a takeaway in the near future!

Myself and family celebrated my father's birthday we were a table of 6 adults a 3 year old and a baby. The team were amazing, great service fab food and all reasonable prices. Very accommodating and will definitely dine there again.

I was working away and fancied a curry and saw this restaurant reviews that seemed to good to be true… but as soon as I had my starter and main meal I knew this food was special! Absolutely delicious!!! Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Certainly the worst lamb shank we have ever had! Undercooked, inedible and evidently defrosted for what felt like being frozen for months. Would not recommend. Never ordering again!

I visited India zones recently with a friend and I was blown away by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. As we entered we were greeted in a warm and welcoming manner by the owner then taken to our seats. We were unsure of some of the items on the menu but the staff were kind enough to go through the menu with us and even make a slight adaptation to one of the dishes. As we waited for our starters we conversed with the owner about India, the restaurant and other things which was nice, I feel the staff are very friendly and approachable. The quality of the food is exceptional! The food has lots of flavour and it's presented in a beautiful manner like something you would find in a high-end restaurant. I would highly recommend 👌 P.S - order the onion bhajis they are the best I've ever had

Two of us visited on recommendation from a friend and we weren't disappointed. The quality of the food is excellent, from the presentation to the flavours. Everything tasted authentic (I've lived in India) and delicious: we had popadoms, onion and kale bhaji, paneer tikka, dal makhani, chicken biryani, and lamb rogan josh. The owner/host was very friendly and welcoming. Prices are a little higher than other Indian restaurants but worth it. We look forward to going back.

I have just been into the Indian Zone and I travel all over the UK and must say this was the best Indian restaurant I have eaten in. The quality of the food was amazing, I will definitely use this restaurant the next time I am in Gloucester

Just discovered this geat local restaurant. Fsb menu and food was tasty (if not a little hotter then expected!) and full of flavour, friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere. We'll be back!

Fantastic restaurant. The owner greeted us respectfully. The food was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. There were three vegetarians in our group who loved what was on offer. I had Malabar Lamb which was sensational. Cobra on draught. Reasonable pricing for the excellent quality. Well done.

Having read the reviews, we decided to travel over to India Zones to see for ourselves what the buzz is all about and we were not disappointed! We ordered from the chef’s specials menu: chicken shashlak and paneer tikka masala. The masala sauce was rich and sophisticated with just the right balance of spicy tomato and onion gravy whilst the chicken was succulent and perfectly cooked and spiced. Mixed with a garlic naan and tadka dal this was the perfect early evening summer meal. The manager was attentive and considerate through our dining experience and clearly took pride in providing a great customer experience and creating wonderful, authentic Indian cuisine. Well done to the team!! Highly recommended.

Wow what lovely food, staff were friendly and the place had a nice atmosphere. We were celebrating my birthday and ghe staff finished our meal off with free cheesecake. We will be going back definitely.

The food was undoubtedly fresh ingredients, good start. But Lacked flavour, chicken biryani was inedible , did not enjoy eating the food at all. Delivery charge was way to pricey, prices were high, I really thought that the prices would reflect on some excellent dishes, but alas. Very disappointed!

Just had a lovely meal at India Zones. We had poppadoms, 2 starters, 2 mains, rice and naan and it was all beautifully presented and very tasty. Friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely return.

We ordered Chilli Naan which was perfect with the spice level 🌶️🌶️🌶️, Garlic Naan but it lacked the garlic flavour need some work on the felt like plain naan. Paneer Makhanwala was delicious good number of paneer chunks. Bhindi( Okra) masala which felt a bit raw. Needed some flavour. It was just normal with not much taste

What a gem this place it. Don't go by the external looks of the building or the seating capacity. They serve authentic Indian food and the presentation is worth every penny. The owner Mr Chaman is pleasant and always requesting for feedback on the food. Tried the tandoori chicken and the chilli fish on my last visit and was very impressed with the taste as well as portion sized. Decent prices as well. Needless to say I will be visiting again soon.

My partner and I went to India zones for the first time yesterday as we've been meaning to go for a while. 100% recommend to everyone, the atmosphere was homely, service was great and the food is the best Indian we have ever had. Then at the end they gave us a lovely slice of cake for dessert which was a nice surprise! Look forward to seeing you again very soon.

1st time here after a recommendation... and WOW, the food is amazing. Not your ordinary Indian restaurant, but adds that something different to make it stand out from all the others. I would highly recommend the Aloo Makai Tikki starter (so much flavour and I could have ate them all night). Other starters tried between 3 of us (Calamari and Chilli Fish - both recommended). Mains had were: Nalli Gohst, Sea Bass Fillet and Chicken Cafreal. Again, all tasty and recommended. In all a very enjoyable meal and will definitely return to try the other dishes 😁😁😁

We drove a long way down to this place specially for Indian foods which gave us a perfect, lovely dining experience. The food was amazing and extremely delicious and one of the best places we as a family would recommend to everyone who is looking for an enjoyable dining experience. The staff were very friendly and the food was really value for money. We would definitely visit India Zone again which is a perfect destination for a family dining. I would say again we had 5 star level Indian food from India zone and I am eagerly waiting to visit them again.

Hubby and I went for our anniversary tonight..food was out of this world best I have tasted for a very long time...we asked for the bill and they put record on "congratulations "and presented us with a fantastic cheese cake with happy anniversary wrote in chocolate ..wow how lovely and maitre de was so friendly and had a laugh with him..thanks so much see you soon xx

Our party of 6 arrived at 9pm on a Friday night (after Cheltenham Races) and after a short wait, we were given 2 tables which was fine as the restaurant was really busy! Food and service were great and would definitely visit again
