India Zones in Gloucester

Popped into this restaurant tonight and very glad we did. What we discovered was a blend of familiar and new flavours, offered In a menu that was not over bearing and served in a restaurant atmosphere that is relaxed and unpretentious. It's mostly about the food for us, this did not disappoint, food appeared freshly prepared and was bursting with flavours, so good. Definitely recommend looking Indian Zones up and giving it a try, we have tried lots of similar restaurants across the local areas and this place is going to be hard to beat for quality, service and price.

The experience here I enjoyed a great deal. The steps up into the property were steep though and with it raining quite hard, it was a bit slippery on the steps. Once in and settled, we ordered the usual pops and pics and they were great, something different. Food was excellent, you must try it!!. The only thing that was really annoying was the background music. It must have been about 40 seconds or so of music, on a loop for our stay of about an hour. That let it down.. change this and all would be well!.

Really friendly restaurant with a clear passion for serving fresh, healthy and delicious home cooked Indian food. This was our first visit and we'll definitely be back.

We had a meal at India Zones on a Wednesday evening. It was quiet, which was a shame as this place deserves to be better known. As well as the usual selection of dishes, there are the Chef's Special Mains which are something a bit different. My wife had the Malabar Prawns and I had the Prawns & Sea Bass. Both excellent. With the attentive, friendly service and very reasonable prices, I would thoroughly recommend India Zones to anyone wanting a great Indian meal in Gloucester.

Went with a colleague based on the encouraging Google reviews - absolutely the right decision. Not our first trip to a curry house, far from it, we travel all over the UK and always end up in one. The food was probably some of the best we've enjoyed. HIGHLY recommend. Decent menu, well priced, good people, tasty as it gets. Hopefully I'll have the chance to be back down here again. Take my advice, treat yourselves!

Had a delicious meal here with my family. The food was presented very well and the flavours of each dish were amazing. The naan was soft and not at all stodgy. The service was great throughout our meal, and they were very attentive to our little one. Luckily we booked a table, as for a Wednesday night, they were quite busy. We would love to visit again in the future.

Was only in town for a few days having never been to Gloucester before and took a chance based on reviews online. I was not disappointed! Excellent food and received a very warm welcome from the staff who were so kind and helpful. Food was top rate and presented beautifully. It was so good I went back a second evening and had an equally superb experience. This place is unquestionably a superb venue and a must if you’re after a high quality experience. Great that open early too.

We chose India Zones for its good choice in vegetarian meals and its reviews. It didn’t disappoint. The food was spiced at a nice level and really tasty. The Paneer tikka masala was presented beautifully. The staff were friendly. We would definitely visit again when next in Gloucester.

Went there on the recommendation of 2 of my daughters, who said it was great and I wasn’t disappointed. This is a very good Indian restaurant. Definitely a level above the norm. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. Service was good too.

Ordered here online for collection Saturday night. Have to say, it was the best Indian food I’ve ever had in my life. I had the butter chicken, garlic mushroom rice, cheese naan, and a portion of chips. Butter chicken was flavourful and very tender. Mushroom and garlic rice was flavourful and was a good sized portion. Cheese naan was delicious and a very good sized naan. Even the chips were very good, perfectly salted. My partner ordered the chicken tikka masala, pilau rice, and the garlic naan. She also thoroughly enjoyed her food. The staff were very friendly at the restaurant, made me feel welcome when I went in to collect my order. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with a nice relaxing atmosphere. Safe to say we will be returning regularly to this absolute gem.

Our first time at Indian Zones having been recommended by friends. Delicious clean food, particularly enjoyed the Methi Chicken and Malabar Lamb. Not huge portions but enough. Well worth a visit and best to book a table in advance. It's obviously very popular.

We ordered a collection so I can't comment on the atmosphere but it looked nice and cosy. The food was nice but not amazing, some of the chicken in the Chicken Tikka dish was rubbery in texture, but other pieces were ok, my son observed the same rubbery texture. I've been following the Facebook page for sometime and was looking forward to trying it, but a little disappointed sorry.

Took my daughter out for her birthday, we had a beautiful meal and they surprised her with cake and played happy birthday for her. Lovely friendly staff, will most certainly go again, thank you.

Just a stone's throw from Gloucester Station, from the outside, you'd easily miss it - or, upon inspection of the rather unkempt upsteps and door, choose to bypass it. Don't. India Zones is a rare find; an absolutely top drawer and unpretentious Indian restaurant. The service was effortless undertaken by a charming older waiter with a gentle demeanour and a seemingly permanent smile that oozed welcome and hospitality; I liked the place the moment that I walked in. The menu (and apologies for not taking a pic) was right-sized, not overly ambitious but I got the impression that what they did, they did well, which later proved to be correct. Placed in the window table, with glorious views over the picturesque London Road, we were treated to some fine fare. The tikka masala was well-spiced and not oozing just food colouring and tomato (and trust me, I've had some awful ones). The Madras was really nice. Not too spicy, so, in short order, they brought me some extra chillies to make it so. It was delicious. We also had a side of Saag Aloo (usually little more than a filler that no-one cares about much, including the chefs), but which was absolutely melt-in-the-mouth. The lemon rice, with added whole crispy red chilli was also warming. As a bonus, during the preliminaries, the waiter must have come to know that it had recently been our daughter's birthday. Later, while I was starting to wonder where the bill was, there appeared, a big slab of cheesecake, replete with lighted candle. Just a lovely touch and a fitting end to a really nice meal. The upstairs toilets (exit the restaurant and turn right) were a little cold and unwelcoming, despite buckets of Holi-inspired coloured paint lathered on the walls. I think its just the building - obviously converted into a restaurant without placing them downstairs to be more accessible.

My husband and I had a lovely meal at the restaurant .My husband had the tandoori platter and I had the chicken dansak both tasty meals with exactly the right amount of spices and heat. staff are lovely and attentive .we would definitely go back when we are back in Gloucester again .

From the warm greeting to the final goodbye this was a memorable evening out, the food was just beautiful and service was excellent. One of the best Indian meals we have experienced, clearly home cooked, fresh produce and quite authentic, beautifully spiced and the meats (lamb and chicken) were melt in the mouth tender. Probably worth calling beforehand to book a table particularly at the weekend or you may be severely disappointed. The only difficulty is parking in the area but don’t let that put you off, it was just slightly more difficult for us due to walking difficulties.

Wow, possibly the best Indian food I have tasted, including food in India itself. The only thing to rival the food is the fantastic staff, helpful, attentive and friendly. The food is sublime, beautifully presented and spiced to perfection. We will definitely be visiting again.

This is possibly the best Indian Restaurant I have ever eaten in. The menu is shorter than most (which is a good thing as they can do each dish really well), and each dish I’ve tried (over 10 visits now) has been exquisite. The flavours are really well balanced, the food is cooked perfectly, and the service is attentive but not intrusive; they also understand when you want a slow meal and are happy to set the pace accordingly. Drinks are reasonably priced and the wine by the glass are decent wines (which is rare in an Indian Restaurant).

Really nice food, had the Caldeen prawns with seabass and a peshwari nann and it was one of the best curries I had in a while. There were 20 of us as well and they managed us well.

Great curry and great service. I've recently moved back to Gloucester and have tried to find a replacement for my old local, without much luck - had a couple of so-so curries. But then I tried this place and it's absolutely cracking, for both eating in and deliveries. Really have no negatives to say about the place. Perfect.

Actually we were on our way to another restaurant and passed this small cosy restaurant. Looked the menu and had to try the food ... It's very nicely decorated and beautiful instrumental music playing at the right volume . The food ..wow ...was amazing . All served up really well and good proportion too . You must try the chilli and garlic nan . 😋 The service very nice and in a professional manner too. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Gloucester. !!!

My partner and I attended this restaurant for his birthday meal today. Wow, we were both so impressed with the food, staff and service. The restaurant was welcoming and clean. The staff that was taking care of us were all lovely and helpful. The food was excellent, the meat was so tender and everything had so much flavour. Travelled down from Birmingham so no stranger to a good curry. The curry we had was outstanding. Very authentic. Nice wine. Good food great atmosphere. Staff extremely friendly and helpful with the menu. Definitely will revisit if ever back in Gloucester

When the restaurant first opened I ordered a takeaway. To be honest I was not impressed and did not go back until last night as a number of friends were telling me how good the food was. Well, it was fantastic and highly enjoyable. We had three different main dishes, chicken malabar, the lamb shank and the specialty curry served with vermicelli noodles. They were all excellent but the peppery sauce of the Malabar was my favorite. Very pleasant staff and friendly service and we will be back.

We came to this restaurant for a family meet up and my 70th birthday last Saturday.The food was amazing,service superb even a birthday plate.I was so pleased we had chosen your restaurant as I used to live in Gloucester but now am in West wales.I would recommend to anyone.

Probably the best curry I have had in a long time. Service was extremely friendly and courteous. It might not look like much from the outside but would highly recommend giving it a go.

By far and away the finest Indian restaurant in the county. Dishes are imaginative and beautifully presented. Importantly the flavours are fresh and really shine. I was recommended to try India Zones after a disappointing fish curry with some friend's at Pasha's in Longlevens. I wasn't disappointed. I had the seabass and prawn curry which was the most flavoursome curry I've ever had. Delicious! I had it without rice, which suited my choice as it contained potatoes. The meal size was ok but some would be looking for more. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Service was excellent, although maybe a little fast if looking for a more leisurely meal. I would definitely recommend visiting.

We ordered Tandoori Chicken, Caldeen of Prawns with Sea Bass, Malabar Chicken, plain nann and cheese nann. All were very good. I like the Caldeen of Prawns with Sea Bass the most personally. The atmosphere was good. The staff was friendly and helpful, and gave us good recommendations as we were the first time visitors. Highly recommend!

A wonderful experience. The food was amazing. The samosas are the best I’ve ever had—shaped like little volcanoes with a delicious slightly spicy sauce surrounded by chick peas. The waiter suggested lamb malabar when I said I like lamb vindaloo but it’s too spicy for my wife. It is now my favorite Indian lamb dish. (The lamb starter is also amazing.) Both kinds of dal are creamy and delicious. Service was perfect. The cobra beer on tap is a great accompaniment to Indian food. We visited twice during a one-week trip sojourn in Gloucester, first just my wife and me, and then with a group for a birthday celebration. At least 16 others in our group also visited the restaurant based on my report after our first dinner. Everyone loved it. Also, the staff and owner are lovely people completely committed to great hospitality.

I stopped in here on a Sunday, after a long hike from London. The staff were super friendly and polite. The service was impeccable and speedy. The food was first class, especially the naan bread! Will visit again when back in Gloucester :)

By far the best Indian cuisine I've had in England, and it was easily in the top 3 of tikka masala dishes that have ever made it to my mouth. The quality of the spices is second to none, and that is clear as soon you walk through the door. The flavors are bold and savory and clearly not tainted by sugar. The rice couldn't have been prepared any better. The meat is clearly chosen for quality, and everything was cooked perfectly. This little joint is 100% L.E.G.I.T.

I was pleasantly surprised by a professional staff that exceeded every need once our group of 8 arrived. The food was nicely plated and presented like it was from a Michelin rated restaurant. The food was very aromatic and excellently made and worthy of a repeat visit. This was one of the best restaurants I have been to and thoroughly enjoyed the complete visit and meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any and all who enjoy authentic Indian food.

Decided to try this after a recommendation from a friend, i have not used this restaurant in 17 years. So glad I listened to the recommendation as it is the best Indian we have eaten in a long time. We will be back and will most likely try it for a takeaway in the near future!

Myself and family celebrated my father's birthday we were a table of 6 adults a 3 year old and a baby. The team were amazing, great service fab food and all reasonable prices. Very accommodating and will definitely dine there again.

Certainly the worst lamb shank we have ever had! Undercooked, inedible and evidently defrosted for what felt like being frozen for months. Would not recommend. Never ordering again!

I visited India zones recently with a friend and I was blown away by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. As we entered we were greeted in a warm and welcoming manner by the owner then taken to our seats. We were unsure of some of the items on the menu but the staff were kind enough to go through the menu with us and even make a slight adaptation to one of the dishes. As we waited for our starters we conversed with the owner about India, the restaurant and other things which was nice, I feel the staff are very friendly and approachable. The quality of the food is exceptional! The food has lots of flavour and it's presented in a beautiful manner like something you would find in a high-end restaurant. I would highly recommend 👌 P.S - order the onion bhajis they are the best I've ever had

Two of us visited on recommendation from a friend and we weren't disappointed. The quality of the food is excellent, from the presentation to the flavours. Everything tasted authentic (I've lived in India) and delicious: we had popadoms, onion and kale bhaji, paneer tikka, dal makhani, chicken biryani, and lamb rogan josh. The owner/host was very friendly and welcoming. Prices are a little higher than other Indian restaurants but worth it. We look forward to going back.

I have just been into the Indian Zone and I travel all over the UK and must say this was the best Indian restaurant I have eaten in. The quality of the food was amazing, I will definitely use this restaurant the next time I am in Gloucester
