Booked for an early dinner at 18.30 on a Friday, the restaurant is a short walk from our house, so it's perfect. Perhaps not surprisingly, given it's reputation, there were already 4 other tables that had beaten us. They operate a policy of bring your own booze, which keeps the price down compared to other restaurants in Bournemouth The decor inside is really warm and all of the staff are super friendly. Hassan seems to be everywhere ensuring everyone is looked after, and a special mention to Chloe, who just passed her driving test! We ordered popadoms, 1 starter, 2 mains and 2 side dishes, and a desert and it came to £36. Brilliant value and superbly cooked. It's getting to the stage that if you don't book, you probably wont get a table. So please stay away !! haha

We dined on a Wednesday. The food was excellent. Tasty and strong. We loved it. We enjoyed the nice atmosphere and we brought our own wine and beer. When we left the restaurant was packed. Not surprised. It was ‘mumtaz’ which is Arabic for excellent.

Totally superb restaurant in every way…great choice of very tasty curries, good portion sizes, fast and friendly service, nice decor, reasonable prices and bring your own booze.

Amazing birthday!! We enjoyed a wonderful meal, a table of 15pwoplw and all food was hot, delicious and served with a smile!! Hassan as always was the star of the show ensuring everything was taken care of for us, rasul was also so delightful. Thank you queen mumtaz once again! X

We visited as a group of 6 for our daughter’s birthday , not knowing Wednesday night is a banquet / value night £13.95 for starters main course side dish , the food was very very tasty and unbelievable value , we all left full up and very happy , it’s not licenced so we grabbed a bottle of wine and some sprite a few shops up , needless to say this made for a very cheap meal , the staff were excellent and very friendly, we will be back , best Indian meal we’ve had , highly recommended

Went here with a group of friends. 9 in total. This place is amazing. The food was perfect and the service could not be faulted. Very attentive.

A fantastic restaurant. We go every month and it is consistently excellent. Lovely staff and the food is always great. We’ve now tried most dishes, I’ve recently been having a lamb madras, it’s beautifully spiced, not overly hot and has a superb gravy. Highly recommend and the fact you can take your own beer is a big bonus.

This was our pub quiz teams night out and it was great. Booked for 7pm on a Friday and by half past the restaurant was pretty much full up which is a measure of the reputation of the great food, value for money and the staff. Best value restaurant food in Bournemouth and for those who have not been before, there are 2 rules: BOOK AHEAD and BYOB. Remember these and a great night is guaranteed.

Yet again fantastic food and service to match. I have to give the food 10/10 .there was 8 people in the group and everyone said the same . From the rice to the bread it was superb.

Three visits in as many weeks - family and friends all agreed that this is our best local curry house. Not only is the food superb, fresh, tasty and extremely reasonably priced, but the service is excellent. I can highly recommend that you visit.

After a recommendation we tried the Sunday buffet. All I can say is, it was fabulous. The choices were many and varied, starters, mains, sides, nans, and even a dessert. Great value, good quality, lovely service all at a bargain price We will be back!

My parents have been recommending this place for ages and we went tonight for my Dads birthday and glad we did! Was lovely food, nice modern restaurant and great service. Big portions and honestly some of the best food we’ve had.

I have been trying to come here for two years ever since the original owners ( as Abduls) suddenly closed it without any warning. It is now under a new owner as Queen Mumtaz. In Bournemouth for a long weekend for the air show we came here twice. First time for a usual dinner from the menu. That was good. A couple of days later for the Sunday buffet. I enjoyed the buffet although I am aware that not everyone does. So I would say to the new owner, well done. Especially continuing the BYO which I especially like. It has only been open for two to three months and probably still becoming better known.

The food at Queen Mumtaz is delicious and of a high quality, There's an open kitchen, so you can see everything being cooked. A lovely recently refurbished restaurant that has a traditional feel with a modern twist. A varied menu, with all the old favourites and some specialities, I ca highly recommend Nilgrili lamb and chicken Anarkoli. You can take your own alcohol, so it's a great value option. I would highly recommend a visit and we'll be returning again soon.

We love the Mumtaz and gave the buffet a try for the first time. The food was laid out in food Warmer's, help yourself to whatever you want. 1 set price of £14.99 so nice and easy to budget, as you take your own booze, that's the total price. The Currys were mild medium and hotter, so all palates were covered. They ran out if chicken wings pretty much as soon as we arrived and they were not replaced which was a shame as the 1 I had was decent. I'm glad we tried it but will stick to the normal menu from now on, I'm my opinion it's much better value .

Great night out for a casual curry. Food was excellent, piping hot and a generous portion. Staff are attentive and friendly. BYO Alcohol which messes it a very reasonable night out. Fab!!

My wife and I really rate the Queen Mumtaz. It's become our go-to Indian restaurant. 'Fancy a curry?' 'Absolutely, see if you can get a table at the Queen Mumtaz.' During June and July we probably went five times. The food is excellent and it's a BYOB place, so it's unbelievably cheap. It's the booze that wracks up the price in restaurants, but here we're literally pay £40 or £50 per couple, or about £90 for four of us. I know I said the food is excellent, but it really is great curry. And the waiting staff and the owner, who's always floating about, are so friendly. Everyone is extremely hospitable. This is a great find, and we'll keep on returning.

Had the buffet tonight, five star excellent food and so much of it, value for money you can’t beat it. Excellent friendly staff, Sophie was such a breath of fresh air, nothing too much trouble so five star staff as well. Well done Hossan, a restaurant to be proud of 😋👍

We took our children (11 and 7) to the Sunday night buffet dinner which they loved - they couldn't believe they could have anything they liked! The food is very tasty, the atmosphere is noisy and happy and the staff are courteous. Definitely recommend
