The best restaurants serving Indian food in Lancaster North West

Usually 9/10 but unfortunately tonight and actually last night (we are camping) 4/10 , ordered extra curry sauce that was seriously watery and keema naan that consisted of 0 keema and just naan . Really disappointed . We ordered extra sauce as we noticed that the last 2 times the curries had been lacking in sauce , which is the reason for this review . Not only are the sauce portions getting smaller but it now appears extra sauces are being watered down and either the wrong orders being give in relation to naan bread or again ingredient being reduced massively. Absolutely love this place usually been coming once twice a year for a few years and it’s just frustrating to see this

Excellent food, The Sultan Of Lancaster is my favourite Indian restaurant in Lancaster. My husband and I are trying to eat healthier, so I ordered a healthy option, chicken tikka and my husband had a lamb madras. I requested if they could please reduce the oil if possible. The food was perfect and prepared with minimal oil. Highly recommended.

The samosas at £1 each is a rip off, very small. At least 2 for £1, the onion bajees are worse, how can you charge £1 each? They are small to say the least.

Ordered online. Easy to order. Collected my order, service was great. It was extremely busy and I was asked politely to take a seat for 5mins. I overheard a telephone order, they were told their order could be over 1hr 40mins and still decided to order. I understand why they were willing to wait when I got home and opened my food. Everything was so fresh and tasted delicious. I will recommend this little hidden gem to everyone.

Just had a lovely Indian takeaway delivered.Food was absolutely delicious!! Chicken cooked just right and King prawns cooked perfect and plentiful.. Thank you once again!!

Very good just I didn’t get my stamp

We decided to give it a try as we recently moved to the area and we were very happy we did! The service was really friendly from start to finish. You can also take your our own alcohol and they provided glasses for us too. The atmosphere was also very pleasant quite a few otger couples on other tables. The waiter was very pleasant. We had a starter and main courses. I had the lamb biryani and I can hands down say it was one of the best I've ever had! Loads of lamb and really tender. I had read some other reviews about service charge, but was pleasantly surprised no service charge was added, so we were more than happy to leave a tip as we thought the food and service was great! We will be visiting here regularly.

Very dissapointed with the tandoori platter last night. It used to come in a large round foil tray with tandoori onions. This time it came in a foil bag with no onions at all. Not good for £12.99.

Take away order… Had a 5+ takeaway orders delivered now from cafe masala. Can arrive within 30mins or 3 hours. One occasion it didn’t arrive at all. The food we have always enjoyed but have to reheat. Limited for choice on takeaways where we live, but if the service is offered it should be delivered.

The food is simply excellent. Came here twice for dinner. Fridays definitely busier than Thursdays. The balti is exquisite. The specials are also very good - watch out on the level of spice - ask your waiter.

Another fabulous meal - Delhicious never fails to delight!

Do not use this restaurant, it is a scam, ordered from just eat, order did not turn up, went to restaurant next to collect, to find it's ceased trading, but is still taking orders and money of people, never got my money back
