Unfortunately the food did not represent the restaurant. Even though we only ordered a couple of tikka masala, the chicken has never seen a tikka oven or even a naked flame. Looked boiled and the sauce was watery and bland, zero flavour

took 2 hours to arive food was meh

Absolutely superb as always! Everything piping hot and tasty and delivered in good time.

Looked like the delivery had been dropped, trays were broken and lids loose with curry all over the bag. Tried calling up to complain but they had just closed

Unfortunately there was some issues with the delivery, however this was fixed by the manager, Ash, he was very honest about the issues that were beyond his control and when the food finally arrived it was perfect.

Have been a customer of Sultans for well over 25 years, spending many a pleasurable visit there with family and friends. Having moved away from Lancaster City Centre for a while, it’s been lovely upon our recent return to re-acquaint ourselves with the restaurant. New staff, new menu. Fabulous quality & choice of food, attentive friendly service and as always a pleasant safe environment free of the sometimes weekend rowdiness found elsewhere. As a lone female, I’m very comfortable in dining there alone with just a book for company. Looking forward very much to my next visit. So much more on the menu to try…

Ordered from here on the back of reviews , staff friendly & polite , food nothing to shout about (honestly) had a madras and they must of run out of chicken at 6pm no more than 2 cubes cut & diced up like you wouldn’t know also enough rice to feed you for the week to fill you up replacing the shady portion , same with the biryani hardly any meat , would I go again nope

Order was over 1hr 30mins late. On contacting the restaurant, to ask for an update. The man was very rude saying its obviously on its way and hung up. Didn't even attempt to take any details to check my order. When it arrived it was cold and didn't taste very nice. Will not be ordering again.

Honestly best food I have ever ordered! I’ve even ordered again (the following day) due to being on holiday normally we would try something different but honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else, every time we come back we will be coming here! Order everyone you won’t be disappointed x

We stumbled upon sultan of Lancaster on a trip for a sports tournament. We were pleasantly welcomed upon our arrival and shown to our seats with a smile. The food arrived quickly, the lamb dopiaza is a hit! The manager was very attentive and checked in on us whilst we were eating our mains. Our waiter was also very attentive. The manager offered us some complimentary ice cream to finish our meal. We would definitely return if we found our way back to Lancaster again.

Lovely staff and a fairly tasty Indian, starters were fantastic and the mushroom curry was grand. Juices are a great substitute for the typical curry beer!

Came here for our 6 year anniversary. Had the set meal for 2, which probably could have fed 4! More than enough food, definitely great value for money. The food was delicious, hot & tasteful! We got to sample their new ice cream too which was really nice, free of charge. The staff couldn’t do enough to help us & were helpful & quick serving. Would definitely come back if we lived closer!

Myself and friends have been regulars here for a number of years now and the place never fails to disappoint! Even after moving away from Lancaster we make sure to visit when we can. Excellent and friendly service, and food that is delicious and well priced. Would 100% recommend.

It’s wonderful to return after 10 years and find that the taste remains just as amazing! The ambiance and service are excellent, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Our chicken korma was delicious—perfect for those with a sweet tooth. The chutney were heaven! We also tried the lamb deewana, which did not disappoint. The kids' meal was fantastic, with a generous portion. The staff, including the waiter and waitress, were warm and attentive, and Mr. Ash’s hospitality stood out. Looking forward to coming back again!

I think I have just found my new best friend... I wanted yoghurt to go with my vindaloo (because I'm a wuss) but I couldn't find it on the menu on just eat, so I placed my order and called the restaurant. I must have spoken to the nicest gentleman in Lancaster, his name was Ash, and not only did he make sure I got my yoghurt, but he also gave me samosas and a garlic naan. Not only was the food DELICIOUS, they made my night. This takeaway has made me re-evaluate what I think a good takeaway should be and it has set the bar ridiculously high! Thank you so much x

Starters were good, the mains were very bland, and the service was intermittent. The background music appeared to be one unrecognisable pop tune on a never-ending loop. Near deserted for a Saturday night. It's a shame really because the setting is very atmospheric.

Excellent fast delivery, my food was piping hot when it got to us. Very tasty madras curry, highly recommend. Great paneer biriyani as well. Thank you for the great food :)

Good very friendly service and very nice Garlic Nann plus large portions on all dishes. Had early bird menu, this was good food and good value.

Jalfrezi sauce was very sweet, lacked bitterness and spice. The only heat was ehen i ate the green chillies. Tika massala lots of sauce, little chciken.

ordered the set meal for two, great chutneys and poppadoms, the chicken tikka was so tender and juicy and the onion bhajis nice and crispy. my favorite was the paneer balti, mild spice and yummy flavors. would recommend!!

Korma is normally spot on but tasted different this time.
