Got a takeaway Saturday night, chicken chilli and garlic and chicken naga, keema rice 2 garlic nans. Huge portions, fantastic flavour, good amount of chicken and spices. Would definitely go back.

Very nice restaurant with excellent service. The owner is charming. My wife loved her Biriyani , I had a Prawn Shaslik which whilst very tasted the onions and peppers didnt appear to have been in the tandoor more pan fried?? Nice Naan.

I had a fantastic experience at the restaurant, and a big part of that was thanks to the manager, Ash. From the moment we walked in, Ash made us feel welcome with his warm, professional demeanor. Ash truly goes above and beyond. Highly recommend not just the restaurant, but the amazing team behind it — especially Ash!

Great customer service very polite and lovely food

Ordered food and it didn't turn up. Said it had been delivered on the app. I rang after 2 hours to be told it was on its way and yet waited another 2 hours to be told its on it's way and still never turned up. £28 out if pocket and left hungry will never order a delivery from these again.

The food was really good, I don't eat Indian food a lot but it was probably the best I ever tasted. Though one of the waiters (young one) was terrible, unpleasant and lazy. That ruined the experience

My favourite Indian / curry house in Lancaster, I visit every time I come. So accommodating and welcoming and are able to support large groups. Again great place, great atmosphere would highly recommend.

Unfortunately the food did not represent the restaurant. Even though we only ordered a couple of tikka masala, the chicken has never seen a tikka oven or even a naked flame. Looked boiled and the sauce was watery and bland, zero flavour

Looked like the delivery had been dropped, trays were broken and lids loose with curry all over the bag. Tried calling up to complain but they had just closed

Unfortunately there was some issues with the delivery, however this was fixed by the manager, Ash, he was very honest about the issues that were beyond his control and when the food finally arrived it was perfect.

Después de haber estado lejos de la zona durante un tiempo, nuestro regreso hace unos meses significó, por supuesto, un regreso a comer en Sultanes... ¡y realmente es incluso mejor de lo que era! Ofrece un menú mucho más extenso de lo que recordamos, con tantos platos nuevos para nosotros. Esperamos probarlos todos. Hasta ahora, hemos saboreado media docena y nos han encantado todos y cada uno. Cocinado a la perfección, ingredientes de buena calidad, atractivamente presentado y servido por un agradable personal servicial. Particularmente agradable para mí es la sensación de que es un ambiente seguro y cómodo para una mujer solitaria para cenar. No dudaría en sentarme aquí solo para disfrutar de una comida agradable y quizás mientras estaba fuera leyendo un libro. No hay juerguistas intoxicados alborotados aquí como a veces se experimenta últimamente en una serie de restaurantes del centro de la ciudad. Ya esperamos nuestra próxima visita al sultán... Ps: solicitud educada de consideración. ¿Alguna posibilidad de que vuelva el delicioso Batido de Rosas del Sultán? Nos encantaría volver a verla en el menú.

Have been a customer of Sultans for well over 25 years, spending many a pleasurable visit there with family and friends. Having moved away from Lancaster City Centre for a while, it’s been lovely upon our recent return to re-acquaint ourselves with the restaurant. New staff, new menu. Fabulous quality & choice of food, attentive friendly service and as always a pleasant safe environment free of the sometimes weekend rowdiness found elsewhere. As a lone female, I’m very comfortable in dining there alone with just a book for company. Looking forward very much to my next visit. So much more on the menu to try…

Ordered from here on the back of reviews , staff friendly & polite , food nothing to shout about (honestly) had a madras and they must of run out of chicken at 6pm no more than 2 cubes cut & diced up like you wouldn’t know also enough rice to feed you for the week to fill you up replacing the shady portion , same with the biryani hardly any meat , would I go again nope

Order was over 1hr 30mins late. On contacting the restaurant, to ask for an update. The man was very rude saying its obviously on its way and hung up. Didn't even attempt to take any details to check my order. When it arrived it was cold and didn't taste very nice. Will not be ordering again.

Honestly best food I have ever ordered! I’ve even ordered again (the following day) due to being on holiday normally we would try something different but honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else, every time we come back we will be coming here! Order everyone you won’t be disappointed x

We stumbled upon sultan of Lancaster on a trip for a sports tournament. We were pleasantly welcomed upon our arrival and shown to our seats with a smile. The food arrived quickly, the lamb dopiaza is a hit! The manager was very attentive and checked in on us whilst we were eating our mains. Our waiter was also very attentive. The manager offered us some complimentary ice cream to finish our meal. We would definitely return if we found our way back to Lancaster again.

Came here for our 6 year anniversary. Had the set meal for 2, which probably could have fed 4! More than enough food, definitely great value for money. The food was delicious, hot & tasteful! We got to sample their new ice cream too which was really nice, free of charge. The staff couldn’t do enough to help us & were helpful & quick serving. Would definitely come back if we lived closer!

We’re here for valentines weekend my boyfriend booked in last minute and I’m really glad we did. Really pleasant staff were lovely. Food was so good for the price. Would definitely recommend. And we got free ice cream at the end which was absolutely unreal!

It’s wonderful to return after 10 years and find that the taste remains just as amazing! The ambiance and service are excellent, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Our chicken korma was delicious—perfect for those with a sweet tooth. The chutney were heaven! We also tried the lamb deewana, which did not disappoint. The kids' meal was fantastic, with a generous portion. The staff, including the waiter and waitress, were warm and attentive, and Mr. Ash’s hospitality stood out. Looking forward to coming back again!
