We stumbled upon sultan of Lancaster on a trip for a sports tournament. We were pleasantly welcomed upon our arrival and shown to our seats with a smile. The food arrived quickly, the lamb dopiaza is a hit! The manager was very attentive and checked in on us whilst we were eating our mains. Our waiter was also very attentive. The manager offered us some complimentary ice cream to finish our meal. We would definitely return if we found our way back to Lancaster again.

Lovely staff and a fairly tasty Indian, starters were fantastic and the mushroom curry was grand. Juices are a great substitute for the typical curry beer!

We’re here for valentines weekend my boyfriend booked in last minute and I’m really glad we did. Really pleasant staff were lovely. Food was so good for the price. Would definitely recommend. And we got free ice cream at the end which was absolutely unreal!

Came here for our 6 year anniversary. Had the set meal for 2, which probably could have fed 4! More than enough food, definitely great value for money. The food was delicious, hot & tasteful! We got to sample their new ice cream too which was really nice, free of charge. The staff couldn’t do enough to help us & were helpful & quick serving. Would definitely come back if we lived closer!

Great service. The owner is very sweet and friendly. Food was very good. I'm a vegetarian and they were happy enough to accommodate my requests. Mango lassi is a must try. Overall, a great experience!

It’s wonderful to return after 10 years and find that the taste remains just as amazing! The ambiance and service are excellent, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Our chicken korma was delicious—perfect for those with a sweet tooth. The chutney were heaven! We also tried the lamb deewana, which did not disappoint. The kids' meal was fantastic, with a generous portion. The staff, including the waiter and waitress, were warm and attentive, and Mr. Ash’s hospitality stood out. Looking forward to coming back again!

I think I have just found my new best friend... I wanted yoghurt to go with my vindaloo (because I'm a wuss) but I couldn't find it on the menu on just eat, so I placed my order and called the restaurant. I must have spoken to the nicest gentleman in Lancaster, his name was Ash, and not only did he make sure I got my yoghurt, but he also gave me samosas and a garlic naan. Not only was the food DELICIOUS, they made my night. This takeaway has made me re-evaluate what I think a good takeaway should be and it has set the bar ridiculously high! Thank you so much x

Excellent fast delivery, my food was piping hot when it got to us. Very tasty madras curry, highly recommend. Great paneer biriyani as well. Thank you for the great food :)

Starters were good, the mains were very bland, and the service was intermittent. The background music appeared to be one unrecognisable pop tune on a never-ending loop. Near deserted for a Saturday night. It's a shame really because the setting is very atmospheric.

Good very friendly service and very nice Garlic Nann plus large portions on all dishes. Had early bird menu, this was good food and good value.

Jalfrezi sauce was very sweet, lacked bitterness and spice. The only heat was ehen i ate the green chillies. Tika massala lots of sauce, little chciken.

ordered the set meal for two, great chutneys and poppadoms, the chicken tikka was so tender and juicy and the onion bhajis nice and crispy. my favorite was the paneer balti, mild spice and yummy flavors. would recommend!!

Fabulous food as always. We tried something different this time, we had lamb on the bone and the matki biryani. The lamb was so tender and just fell off the bone and the biryani was also good. This restaurant is our go to as I have allergies and they have always been able to accommodate these with no issues both in the restaurant and takeaway

Sultan of Lancaster always makes amazing curry. Sultan Delight is absolutely amazing. Sweet, tangy and not super spicy. Slightly disappointed that my cheese naan did not have any cheese in it though.

40% discount still wasn't worth it. 15 tiny pieces of chicken in huge tub of sauce, naan acrid from being burnt with most of the bubbles torn off like they burnt it and tore them off and gave it to us anyway disappointing after waiting over an hour

I love this place just a shame I'm from Widnes.I had butter chicken with naan very tasty highly recommend it if you don't like spicy food it has a tiny kick of spice but beautiful.Definitely recommend trying it out. PLS SET UP A RESTAURANTS IN WIDNES

Delicious meal at the Sultan last week. Great value and really tasty with friendly & efficient service from the team. Shout out to Wasim who did a great job! The Channa Puri started was INCREDIBLE! Order took 3 hours to arrive and the quality of the food was poor when it eventually did.

Tikka masala, which should be pretty easy, was flavourless and had 4 pieces of meat in it. Peshwari naan was flavourless.

Food was really good. Naans were missing off of the order but we called and they got delivered to us. Great food, great service
