Not as good as other places. I had chicken jalfrezi but it was innocuous. A bit disappointed to be honest. My naan was flat, dry and crispy in the middle. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food.

Amazing place to take a group of people. Atmosphere was amazing and the staff was very friendly. Only problem is that they have no alcohol but you CAN bring you own. Highly recommend.

Sauce all over the trays as must was squashed, hardly no chip but what was there was cold. No chicken in one of the kormas. Absolutely shambles this place has really gone down. Phoned them twice to see where my order was but they wasn’t bothered

We had a lovely meal here this evening, the service was wonderful, they have lovely, friendly, knowledgeable staff, fantastic food, and great music. Highly recommend!

Accessed down a few stairs the restaurant is quite roomy inside. It would be interesting to find out what it used to be. Note that it isn't licensed, so doesn't sell alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own and pay a small fee for the glasses. There are the usual suspects on the menu plus some interesting specials. Both our starters and main courses were delicious and had succulent pieces of meat and great keema rice. The Peshwari naan was equally good. It is probably much better to eat in the restaurant than to rely on a takeaway.

Other people were really enjoying their food so zi am putting mummy experience down to choice. Jeera not a lot of flavour or spice. Lamb very tender. Good on the cool side but I did not ask them to warm up. The service was excellent and the staff lovely. I would try again because of other reviews and the staff

One of the finest Indian restaurant I found in Morecambe. I've stayed three nights in Morecambe and I ate three night here in Saffron. Out of all the dishes, garlic naan was so fresh and chicken dishes was amazing. I could eat every day here. Highly recommend

The balti was 50% onion and just tasted of vinegar, never again.

Ordered a takeaway came after 1.5 hours cold all the curry was in the bag soggy chips mushed up poppadoms curry was like water all in all awful after our toddler playing up when going out to eat we so we had to come back to our holiday home without food all we wanted was a half decent takeaway but we where very disappointed all in all terrible ! McCain oven chips too ! Not good enough money down the drain as it was not edible ! DO NOT RECOMMEND

Unfortunately had a pretty poor first experience. The delivery arrived 35 minutes late which I wouldn't have been too bothered by if the food was good. The bombay potatoes were quite undercooked, the poppadoms arrived inedible as they'd been sat next to hot food for ages and were soggy and floppy. The chips were average but the chutney was nice. The chapattis were quite dry too, edible but disappointing. Some of the chutney had leaked as the food was sort of haphazardly put in the bag too.

The vibe of the restaurant is amazing and calming. Staff is amazing & polite. Food is good but Make sure it’s not a Desi Food. Their main customers are white folks who do not like spicy foods. Food is sweetened even Karahi & currys. But it was an amazing experience. Prices are just above normal, Quantity is just fine. Recommended for new experiences & enjoy the vibe.

Just had a lovely meal here tonight I don't normally choose Indian but this meal was soo delicious we had the chicken wings & mixed kebabs to start then chicken balti & madras for mains everything was soo fresh & tasty will definitely be back next year when down on holiday 😋👌😃

So won’t be going to saffrons again, Chicken pakora undercooked and raw sent back, brought out again over cooked didn’t eat it Prawn madras didn’t taste like a madras, rice over cooked and naan bread undercooked, won’t be back in a hurry

Don’t dismiss this restaurant assuming from the exterior that it’s very small - it’s actually underground and spacious! Having said that - negotiating the stairs down could be a bit tricky for anyone struggling with their mobility, and impossible for anyone in a wheelchair (unless there is another entrance - so I’d suggest ringing beforehand to check if that’s an issue ) The service was impeccable, and the food was really good - plentiful and tasty. We sat by the open fireplace and were pleased to be able warm up on such an unseasonally cold June evening ! We’ll definitely go again when in the area.

It took over 1 and a half hours on a Tuesday to arrive. On arrival the food was great quality and they had sent a free naan bread and 2 extra popadoms. Food all tasted great.

I am thrilled I ordered from Saffron tonight! My usual Indian takeaway let me down by cancelling my order last minute so I was pretty hangry, but Saffron cheered me right up! I ordered a lamb vindaloo which was beautiful - the lamb was cooked to perfection and I could taste every spice in the curry. At this point, I have tried every Indian takeaway in Lancaster and Morecambe and this is the most delicious Vindaloo I have had! I also would like to say how wonderful your delivery driver is, incredibly respectful and polite. Friendliest service I have received! Thank you so much.

We booked via Facebook, they where very helpful and friendly sent us the menus and told us what food was on the offers. Food was great (as always) - very helpful with picking a meal for my son as well who is 1. Service was great. No complaints definitely recommend

Unfortunately, the food was quite bland, and the prawns just tasted of water. It didn't feel like an Indian restaurant at all. They didn't even play Indian music. On the plus side, the waiter was very good.

Food came an hour later we ordered. Waiter took the wrong order so we had to wait for one of the items. When it came it was undercooked. Salad was not that fresh. Entrance is a bit tricky and low for a tall person. Hand wash area in the toilet is extra small. Toilet has a very tight space. I don't understand why it gets good review after all this.

This feedback is written by 3 people who really, really enjoyed their meal tonight. Wow! I thought I didn't really like indian food, but the Korma was amazing 👏 I wanted to eat it all, but saved some for my son whose out. Truly amazing tastes and quality. Thumbs up from me. Food was perfect, the spices and flavours were what I expect from a really good Indian restaurant. The best Madras I've ever had. It was absolutely beautiful in everyway. It was just what the very best Madras should taste like.

Hardly no chicken and I was sick please don't eat from this place

Just moved to the area so was looking forward to having a meal from this Indian restaurant which was not far from our home. The service was great with a door to door service from the actual staff and the process was easy via ordering online. It wasn’t the cheapest so hoped the quality would be of good standard. I even joked with the kind person when he delivered the food and mentioned we were looking forward to the meal as it was only literally 1-2 mins walk away and would be great if we enjoyed it. Unfortunately the meal was the worst Indian meal we’ve ever had. The starter was of little and poor quality especially for the cost, both the main meals for both my partner and I was of extremely poor standard and to put thing even worse, even the mint sauce which we had with the popadoms was awful (how that can happen or be terribly made, we had no idea… tasted like sour milk with mint ). We didn’t get in touch with the restaurant as we thought that if every item was of this standard, we’d really wouldn’t want a replacement with another poor quality meal. We will unfortunately seek elsewhere and hopefully find another Indian when the time arises with a much better quality of food. Shame as mentioned above, this restaurant is only 1-2 mins walk from us.

Our table was pre-booked and we sat for 40 minutes before our order was taken after asking for this. We had to keep asking where our poppadoms/starters were and these arrived finally after one and a half hours! We then cancelled our main meals as after eating the starters, 2 hours had passed. There appeared to be quite a few front of house staff, with no-one communicating to each other plus lots of take-away meals were being sent out. Really disappointed and upset as our evening was spoilt.

Sadly visited for a birthday meal on a trip away, recommended by some locals we met outside and reviews on another site. We should have listened to the table of 4 leaving as we arrived complaining they they hadn't been served after a 30 minute wait. We ordered reasonably quickly so thought things were going well however it took 90 minutes for us to get our starters.... After being asked on at least 3 occasions if we had received our food yet.. We weren't alone with at least 3 other tables in the same boat.... It was less than half full with no large parties in and people were on the phone complaining about food orders also not arriving. Our starters were pleasant and our mains did follow reasonably quickly after that but the food was underwhelming with not a lot of flavour. It was clear there were issues in the kitchen waiting 90 minutes to be fed, some tables getting wrong dishes and others never receiving their meals at all before getting up and walking out. Sadly the staff attitude didn't help, rather than being apologetic their responses were it's not our fault we don't work in the kitchen... Whilst floating around cleaning empty tables as very little else to do... One even arguing with a table who had received the wrong order that this must be their fault for ordering the wrong thing. To add further disappointment we weren't even offered an apology or discount and being typically British didn't want to be impolite and request this. Wish we had done though as we received far better service and value in every single other establishment we visited over the wknd.

Excellent curry house with superb service and food an enjoyable experience

Arrived at 19.45 nice place friendly staff, just very slow kitchen and really seemed at little dis organised. We didn't get our food until 21.30, generally nice food but when you have taken your own drinks and some people have finished them before the food arrives, it isn't ideal.

It's always a good experience at saffron. Would always recommend to friends and family.

This is a review for Saffron's delivery rather than the restaurant. We placed our order at 5:30pm for 7:30pm delivery. When it hadn't arrived by 8pm we called to chase it up, only to be told it hadn't even yet been cooked. When we said that wasn't good enough, the restaurant then cancelled our order without our consent and refused to reinstate it. They've always been late previously and we've put up with it, but this terrible customer service is a joke. They basically take way too many delivery orders than they can process - hence why there are so many complaints about late / cold food - then cancel the order of anyone who dares to complain. We will never use or recommend Saffron again.

Saffron has been a firm favourite of mine for over a decade but something has gone very wrong in the experience they're providing. We (party of 4) had a 90 minute wait for food - no indication of this kind of wait time was given at the beginning, and we weren't just walk ins, we'd booked in advance. The food wasn't up to the usual standard either - the flavour blend in my main (sag bhaji) was off, and the onion bhajis were under cooked (several were essentially raw batter inside). The service seemed confused, inattentive and passive. Again, not what I'm used to at Saffron.

A hidden gem. Delicious food from the chef special section. Very friendly staff and a good price. Sitting next to the fire was quite hot though

Visited with a family group for birthday, so no choice of venue. I am not a fan of indian/Asian cuisine. Very limited choice of non Asian food. (2/3 dishes. Only scampi and chips available. It appeared the scampi had just come out of a bag and was tasteless.Thechips were lukewarm.

Gem of a restaurant. Very reasonably priced, and the food is brilliant. Best madras I’ve had in years. 😋

A group of us enjoyed a lovely meal at Saffron. The starters, curries and accompaniments were excellent. I can highly recommend the chicken tikka jalfrezi and the korma. The service we received from Hassan was superb.

‘£5 for lamb samosas’ 2 of the smallest samosas i’ve ever seen with little to no meat in them, everything else was really greasy and smelt off. used to order quite a lot here but has gotten worse and worse everytime. 30 quid down the drain will not be ordering here again.

Nice quirky restaurant close to sea front. Food was good and reasonably priced. We were not told it didn’t have license to serve alcohol when booking in, but local supermarket close by.

We had the early bird menu & it was all very delicious & great value for money!! There was 3 of us & we all had different things, but everything was very tasty. I love the fact you can take your own booze & our Waiter was great too. Highly recommend.

Ordered from here as had a fantastic meal at the restaurant a few years ago, but was very disappointed with the takeaway. There was hardly any spice or flavour whatsoever in the curry, and for the price was expecting much more quality.

I have been coming to this restraunt when I have been craving Indian food and I have to say it never disappoints. The food is delicious and the waiters are friendly. I would highly recommend to other people.

Just had the worst takeaway. Curry’s bland.. watery. Pakora starter, rank. A complete waste of £40, would not recommend at all, delivery driver couldn’t even follow the delivery instructions.

The room is really different nothing to say it is an Indian restaurant apart from the music but there are some amazing carvings like the bar. A very unusual place. Food was very nice.

Tried this place after football. As travelling fans, we usually put our faith in Trip Advisor recommended curry houses. This one didn’t let us down on any front. Friendly welcoming atmosphere, excellent food, attentive service, everything we needed right from the start was perfect. Didn’t know it was a BYO as the reviews I read during the match whilst planning didn’t mention that. But it wasn’t an issue. Food was brilliant. Very highly recommended

Recently went to Saffron while on a visit to Morecambe for a short holiday break. Found Saffron via Google maps and we were torn on going as we go to Indian a lot but it was very good. I had the king prawn madras which was good and my partner had the chicken jalfrezi which was Very good. The Bombay potatoes we're also nice. Would go again if we we're in the area.

Great food here and lovely staff. Shame about having to pay 50p for your wine glass as you take in your own alcohol so I advise take bottles you can drink out of.

I simply cannot understand why all Indian and Chinese restaurants in the Morecambe to Kendal area do not open for lunch on a bank holiday weekend ? Not everyone wants to eat at teatime or in the evening !

What a horrible meal last night what has happened to a place ai regularly frequent???

Was half hour late, text back didn’t happen, caller busy 171 times, food was cold, barely any chicken in the buttermilk dish, chicken tasted weird in buttermilk dish. Eat in the restaurant on many occasions and never had a problem but won’t ask for delivery again. Not worth the money on this occasion.

Good food, friendly staff. Have been there a couple of times. They offer student discounts as well.

hi this was my first time ordering from this takeaway and i thought i would give it a go, turns out IT WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! never delivered the food or knocked on door, or rang me in fact. when the delivery time went by, i rang them up and they was shouting down the phone saying the driver has gone home and they’re not delivering the food now. i have to come to to the shop at half 11 n pick up my food. what a joke, considering the order was over £50. never ordering from here again

It was ok, the decor was ok, the food was alright soup was nice, the main dish was nice mince and chicken mixed together but the mixed starter was bland especially the lamb. The one thing that bugged me was when they seating people they seat them near you when the whole place is empty.

We’ll need to tell your driver he’s not on the rally Dakar I had half some one else’s korma all over my bag and on the inside the sauce was all over with the rice tub squashed into the madras !!! I love your food but dont need to be cleaning up before I eat it I have pictures if u need to see cheers

Date of visit: 4 June 2023 From Lancaster, but looking to eat out in Morecambe, stumbled upon this restaurant. It’s underground and has kept original features. Lovely curry, great presentation. No alcoholic drinks served which we didn’t know about before but you can bring your own. Very quiet but not a bad thing for us. Very friendly and polite staff!

Too expensive for the amount and quality..

Went on a Tuesday evening and was a tad quiet but never mind. Didn't realise you had to bring your own alcohol if you drink. The service was excellent and the food was very good (excellent). The prices are good. Would recommend you pay a visit. Don't know if it's disable friendly, would ring before you go.

The veg pakora was spicy potato croquettes as in mashed potatoes in ruscoline type dressing. Lamb dabsak was very fruity, though lamb was well cooked/ tender.nann bread was good

Food was late and missing naan bread, Saffron's sent out fresh ones straight away and the food was to die for. I'd definitely order again .
