Masala III in Lancaster

mint sauce was spicy? never used to be,the tandoori chicken legs, must of come from the desert, as they were very dry, chicken korma was great, but the garlic chicken bhuna was not the greatest, and the chicken chat was ok. not sure if they have changed chefs..but overall tonight it's a 6/10

Waste of money...full of onions and kulcha was also onion naan:( They don't even know what kulcha is.Search dish before adding into your menu.

Best curry I’ve had in a long time, meal for 1 is perfect plus they give me popadoms n extra chutneys for free.

First time ordering and it’s my new favourite place for Indian food. The food arrived early and felt hot and fresh. I’m not a fan of very spicy food so ordered accordingly and it was tasty, well flavoured and seasoned. The minimum order price is good as is the delivery charge.

Food came piping hot, all tasted fresh - really enjoyed ! Will order again :)

On the whole nice. The mixed starter has lamb that’s just inedible: so tough it can’t be eaten. Otherwise ok. Is it me or are take out really expensive now?

Ordered chicken saagwala never ever tasted one as spicy - couldn’t eat mine - chicken tikka masala also ordered no issues with it - so won’t be ordering that again 🔥🔥😍

the lamb was cold and hard in a hot curry.

The food was early on top of tasting nice, Bossman also gave me a free poppadom :), all food here is halal too which works nicely for me

Chana masala was really bad. It had no Chana and masala? Worst chana masala I had. Other dishes were good.

Great to have salmon as an option. Great flavoured, well cooked, excellent menu and good value.

Food quality is going downhill, probably last time I will order from here.

Buy the same dish regularly but it was extremely hot this time, had to add cream to it to make it edible. We waited 2 hours for it to arrive and then it sat outside the house in a car for a good while. Not sure why.

The food took two hours to arrive after we ordered a takeaway. Every time we called for an update, we were told it would be 15 mins, but it then took over an hour after they said this. We received no compensation for this, and the food itself was lukewarm and the rice was just cold. Really disappointed with this place. Will never order from here again.

Food was really good in general, good value for money, curry’s we’re both really nice, onion bhajis were good, rice was nice, only disappointment was the naan bread, was probably the worst I’ve had from a takeaway but happy to look past that as the rest was really nice. Hopefully that was just a blip and the naan will be better next time as we will definitely be ordering again 👍

Fabulous Indian Takeaway hidden away in Lancaster. Lovely food, traditional cooking, family run, lovely welcome, and we will certainly use this take away again.

Most of the food was very nice. But the chana masala was a bit basic it was essentially undercooked chickpeas poured into watery tikka masala sauce that you get from the catering suppliers could have been made from scratch with more interesting flavours and better texture

Had 4 different curries over 4 week whilst working in Lancaster on nights ...seriously this is one of the BEST curry houses I've ever been to .chicken tikla garlic special and chefs special balti ..GOOD MOTHER OF THE VINE ...AMAZING

Lacking taste and very chewy meat

Food was very hot. Like it has just that second been cooked, flavour and texture were all bang on. Rice was still nice and moist and not overcooked, onion bhajis are the small ones so again they arrive not dried out . I always get a soft poppadom :( the mango chutney was smooth , mint sauce was great, and no nasty bits of onion diced up.. all in all worth the price, whoever is cooking actually cares about what they are sending out.. and the delivery driver. She made takeaway worth ordering. Another good meal thanks

As usual, wonderful quality food, made nice and mild as we asked. Collected, by car, and still piping hot when i got home.

Been through a few Indian takeaways in the Lancaster over the years, and always been disappointed, generally a lot of over watery food, over spicy to compensate for lack of flavour. However Masala Red really knocked it out the park! Superb food, reasonable price, arrived exactly when estimated! Will be coming back, my new regular!

Good had little to no spice or glamour but was cooked okay. However indeed a chicken naan bread was sent cheese naan. Allergic to cheese. Wouldn't answer phone when I rang

Always wonderful food, though we do tend to order the same every time! Even when i get home after collection, the food is still piping hot. Also, a very friendly service when i go and collect.

Had the 2 person deal..one korma, kids said it was tasty, nice consistency, no bits etc, chicken karahi was tasty, but got for my older lad, but was good, rice was cooked to perfection, not dry etc, onion bhajis where nice, chicken Tikka,was ok! Only gripe was the poppadoms where stale, but overall I would say the meal was a 9/10 was not disappointed..plus it was good value for money. Delivery lady was nice.

It was strange that the takeaway completed my order of starters and curries in 10 minutes. When we got home and looked at the food, it was obvious why. Same base and no difference of flavour in all the curries. Food tasted strange particularly the chicken and lamb. Couldn't eat it and ended up binning a very expensive meal. Awful.

Was a really nice curry very tasty, delivery was early. Good food good portions will be returning.

Asked for no cucumber as it doesn't agree with me so they left it out and sent a small mixed veg curry along for free too.

First time ordered from hear, fancied a curry for a change, decided by reviews and prices. Delivery was on time, food was warm and tasteful, both me and partner very happy and will return again

Didn’t like that I had to order boiled rice, pilau rice or Naan with my rogan josh (none of which I wanted. Chapati was burned and, although I ordered Coke Zero, I received Diet Coke which I can’t drink £2.50 wasted!

My go to Indian for takeaway - have ordered many times from here and always received good food. This time the chicken was a little dry and I did receive the wrong rice but still very nice and will be ordering again

It's a while since I've used red masala , but now I remember why they were my favourites before I moved. The chicken pakora were how I had always hoped they might be for once! Not overly draped in thick batterwhich is a bit chewy and hard, these were delicately coated in a light batter, but still tender juicy, in fact perfectly cooked :-) would love it if you did fresh mango (either green or red!) On the side, but the mint yoghurt tasted good too. Everything else was perectly delicious (chicken garlic sag bhuna balti etc). Thought it deserved a good review

One of the best kormas we have had. Usually the bread we get is good, but for some reason the peshwari was like normal naan with coconut in the middle and the garlic naan tasted like lemons

Busy Saturday night so to be expected…however was really tasty 😋

The taste was good but some of the lamb pieces were undercooked. I couldn't even chew through 2-3 pieces and had to spit them out. If the meat was cooked a little bit more and the food was delivered on time then there would be nothing to complain.

Lovely and hot food every time but when getting delivered it’s usually really late like up to an hour late. But definitely worth it, we’ve started ordering earlier so it can come at a decent time

Don't recommend. Food is not up to the standard of a regular indian take away and the customer service was extremely poor. We were not sent the take away order requested and when we phoned we were asked to pay delivery and the full price if we needed anything else. The lady on the phone did not want to hear what we had to say. Instead was just very aggressive. STAY AWAY. Not worth your money.

Food arrived 10-15 minutes early, right temperature and it tasted amazing! Portions were really good from what we ordered (Set meal for 2) to last us from dinner until breakfast! We appreciate the effort on labeling the food as well for people like me that's not familiar with the dish :)

Lovely service, however awful food - a great shame.

Lamb tikka had hardly any lamb, it was like soup! Rang the restaurant they denied it, said it should have 10 pieces of lamb, they thought I was lying! Hopefully they will be more aware when serving the same dish to someone else.

As it was Eid they were running a couple mins late but were very apologetic and so nice about it, made my experience even better than if it wasn’t Eid :)

Took two hours to deliver food, said it would be 45 minutes. Rang up after 1 hour to ask where the food was and the staff were extremely unhelpful and just said "it's still at the restaurant, it will be there soon," which it was not. No refund or compensation was offered. Decent food.

Really tasty food but there was a naan missing and the Diet Coke they sent was two years out of date…..

Best in Lancaster great tasting curry I've had, you could really taste all the flavours in the curry, it was seasoned to perfection, every mouthful was amazing, definitely going back.

This was just the best takeaway of Indian I've ever had, good prices got loads of meat in your curry, the spices and seasoning was out of this world can not fault these guys at all.
