The food was terrific, with exceptional service. It was our son's birthday. His girlfriend brought a cake and asked the staff to bring it out when we'd finished our meal. When they did, they dimmed the lights and clapped for him, then they offered the six of us complementary drinks. Brilliant!

I feel ashoka is better than samrat in food quality, but samrat is cheaper.. Staff at ashoka are great,helpful and friendly.. Unfortunately we were sat at the table near the door so, with customers in and out, it was cold.. Defo recommend out of the 2 indian restaurant's in seaham..

Great front of house staff and excellent food. Vegan options available. Menu well understood by waiters who can advise on allergens.

Excellent food as always. I cannot fault any of the dishes we’ve tried from here. The “ Paturi “ dishes are exceptional.

@Slightly-ColdBear is absolutely spot on. If I was wearing a blindfold, I would believe I was eating a ready meal. Staff were very nice but atmosphere was non existent. Bhuna was as bland and mild as a korma

Amazing place food was fantastic. Atmosphere great and fab service from the lovely sam!! Defo be going back highly recommend

Aside from some great marketing and un verified ratings the food choice was acceptable, service was over shadowed by some regular guests social interaction with staff members which could easily be misconstrued as a mother's meet and greet session, first visit left an everlasting impression, plenty to work on.

Debo visitar siempre mi ir a cualquier lugar en Durham para un gran poco de comida. El personal siempre amable y acogedor la mayoría de conocer mi pedido de memoria. Lo recomendaría a cualquiera que visite o de la zona!

Ordered our takeaway on a Saturday night it came within 30 minutes it was hot and delicious. It is unusual for any takeaway to arrive on time and be hot but Mumbai managed this I had chicken takeaway masala with pilau rice and spicy chips i would recommend this takeaway/restaurant 😋 👌

Great meal and service again in Holi & Bhang. Substantial and tasty food. Good choice for all of us from the pre-starters, starters & mains. Have enjoyed every visit here. On a side note a lovely view of Durham when outside. And on a clear night great view of the stars! All round a good night out and will return again.

Ordered food at 6:40pm it is 1hr 55 later from ordering and it’s only just arrived disappointed as normally delivery is fast
