Didn’t disappoint, food and service was fantastic ….were a group of 4 and from the starters to desserts quality of the food was amazing, my son who doesn’t usually likes curry had the dopiaza he said it was delicious ….guys there are also very friendly and very attentive with out being pushy …will definitely be back thank you Haveli

Lovely restaurant to look at. However, we went last night as a party of 6 for a birthday. The starter was very nice & I'm afraid that's where it ended, main course was luke warm & had no flavour whatsoever. We were hurried through each course, then the next customers came in for our table, they hovered over us until we moved. This restaurant was recommended to us but I will never go back, their customer service is appalling. The main problem is it is too small for what they are trying to do.

Very disappointing. We tried to book a table last week for a table for 4 people at 7pm. We were asked if we would accept a reservation for 7.30pm instead. We agreed. We arrived at 7.20pm and the restaurant was busy and people being ushered into the small area where people collect takeaways. Not enough seats there for people to sit instead people squashed into a tiny area. We waited unto 7.45pm and still no table. Not only that no one came to tell us what was happening. The whole experience was horrible. We were there for a celebration and in the end we left disappointed and disgusted at the way customers were being treated. Not acceptable.

Absolutely amazing food ,I think we were lucky to get a table to be honest ,pleased we rang up to book a table ,the place was buzzing ,the service is excellent,even at full capacity they were on the ball ,super friendly as soon as you walk in ,love these guys ,can’t do enough for you ,they make the experience the best ever ,and compliments to the chefs for the delicious food they serve up ,definitely recommend this restaurant very highly ,need to make another visit sooner rather than later ,and they do a delivery service

Had an excellent meal, four of us all had different dishes which were all tasty and presented beautifully. A friendly but professional atmosphere topped off with high quality crockery. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant, for a good night with superb food.

Great service and fantastic food . Lamb chop starter is a must. We all had different dishes and everyone was delighted with theirs . Clean and not overcrowded . Thoroughly recommend .

Had a Birthday meal here for hubby and he raved about his meal. It is a lovely restaurant, clean and safe with very helpful and wonderful staff. Plenty of menu choices and excellently cooked food. I had the best onion bhaji ever and the mild Malayan dish I had was exactly right. Hubby couldn't finish his so we took the rest home and he enjoyed it the next day. Hubby loved the lime pickle and the staff packed some of that for him as well. So helpful. They even gave hubby a Birthday card when they found out it was his Birthday. Plus a voucher. We hope to be back in the next year to spend it! Really enjoyed it. Thank you.

The welcome is warm and the food hot. Superb service throughout in impeccable clean modern restaurant. All dishes was of a excellent standard, can highly recommend to indian food lovers.

Recommended by our daughter, and what a find, while other Local award winning Indian restaurants are in decline and relying on there out dated reputations this was like a breath of fresh air, Booking is a must as its a small sitting area but well worth it, food is exceptional and service very friendly even when unknown to them, we have now been a few times and its not a one off, highly recommended and worth a visit.

Four of us had a lovely meal here last night, booking is recommended as it was busy for a Monday night. All four meals were very good as was the service, very pleasant and friendly staff.

We decided to give Haveli a try based on my friends glowing reports on how good there takaways were. We were not disappointed. On arriving there was plenty of car parking space next to the restuarant which was a plus straight away. On entering the restuarant we were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our table. Once sat down we could appreciate what was a very stylish restuarant and noticed that the takaway section at the side was very busy but not obtrusive to the restuarant. The restuarant was near to full which was also a good indication of what was to follow. Our starters of Chingri Miirch and Boti Kebab were delicious. This was followed by our mains of Chicken tikka rogan and Naga chicken chillie (made to the heat i asked for) , accompanied with garlic rice and garlic naan , all of which were really tasty. What also stood out was the tableware which was beautiful (where can you buy it ?) sat on lovely crispy white table cloths. This all made up to a first class dining experience. The bill ( with drinks) came to £50 which is very reasonably indeed for a fantastic meal. Thank you Haveli for a wonderful night out. See you again very soon.

Last night we visited the Haveli Restaurant in Great Lumley, a modern, clean, bright and comfortable place to eat.The menu has a very good choice of meals that are reasonably priced and the food we ordered was freshly cooked, full of flavour and absolutely delicious.We found a fantastic family run Indian restaurant producing excellent food, very comfortable with a very relaxed atmosphere, the staff were friendly and the service provided excellent, nothing was too much trouble, we will definitely return and would recommend a visit, you will not be disappointed.

Have only used for take away so far but the restaurant looks very nice.Phone order in and it’s always ready when they say it will be.I have tried the chicken tikka makhoni and the chicken passanda and can recommend both. Love the choice of rices especially the nut and lemon, and the onion rice. Portions are a good size.Haveli is a great addition to the village.

I had read so many good reviews so we decided to book a table with two friends. First impressions were excellent - bright and welcoming deco and very attentive staff. All our meals were delicious so absolutely no complaint there.However, we had just finished our starters when 2 guys arrived who were obviously well known by the staff as they made a big fuss of them and throughout the evening at least one member of staff sat at their table and were actively engaged in conversation with them and sharing their jokes! By the time our main meal arrived the behaviour of these two guys could only be described as rowdy - shouting and laughing boisterously so much so that it was impossible for us to hold a conversation with our friends.Their behaviour was totally inconsiderate and disrespectful not what you expect in a small intimate restaurant.

Highly convivial and personal service. The food was excellent, hot and on time. Nothing was too much trouble in this light and airy family rune restaurant. We cannot recommend too highly.

My wife and i had a meal at this restaurant recently.We booked as it seems as though it is very very busy - so booking is recommended.We both ordered drinks with cobra @ 4.50 per pint but the wife could'nt get a glass of pinot grigio as they only do chardonnay by the glass whereas pinot is by the bottle? We both ordered starters/mains and breads.The starters were very nice but a 7.50 starter with only two king prawns in it ?The main courses were very nice as well as the chapati s.The bill came to £60 ish and was competitive.Would we return - definitely yes..Recommended.

Went for our weekly takeaway and the staff informed me they're closing as of July 25thThe good news is they're looking to open a restaurant within 8-9 weeks locally so let's hope so.Shame, since this has been by far our best Indian takeaway.Our last meal of King Prawn Bhuna, Chicken Sagwala and extras was every bit as good as ever.Fingers crossed they re-open soon!

I live at the limit of the home delivery range and it showed. Some os the food was cold and meat tough despite being "breast" only. Taste was, however, great if a little more bland that I was expecting. With use I expect to get to know the staff better and be able to get a more personal service. Very obliging staff with no trouble too much and arrived virtually on time. No problems here as it was a busy night for them. Interesting new meals on the menu which pleased my guests. I look forward to buying there further.

My wife and i ordered some indian food last week and must say yet again it was beautiful.I had a chicken dupiaza and my wife had a shaslick with veg pilau and chapatis.Top food from this takeaway everytime especially our favourite dishes.Looking forward to when they open a restaurant this year in the village - subject to covid!! Would highly recommend their food.

Had first takeaway for a family get together 8 of us. All meals were cooked perfectly and with quality ingredients. Would recommend and will be returning.

We got a takeaway with delivery for first time, delivery was on time. The food is absolutely delicious good size pieces of chicken in dishes, I got Sabsi Bahar which is mild and tasty as I cannot eat anything spicy. Everyone thought everything ordered was really good. Even the chips were lovely. We don't get takeaways very often but in future when we do I will certainly get a takeaway from Haveli. We would certainly recommend this takeaway.

After recommendations decided to try the takeaway and was over the moon the food was excellent ordered by phone delivery very quick so will definitely be going back Ammani pump house in Durham owned by the same people is worth a try as the food there is also excellent both definitely worth five stars thanks

I'm not a great fan of Indian food as a rule, but this place may just have converted me. Other half wanted something spicy for takeaway, and we'd heard good reports about Haveli, looked at the menu online and ordered by phone. 20 minutes, so set off to drive the 5 miles in the ice and snow. Easy to find, on the main road in Great Lumley. Beautifully done out inside. Friendly staff. Got there exactly on 20 minutes, food was ready and piping hot. We had chicken tikka masala which was stunning, spicy and tasty and you could taste the tikka on the chicken, chicken sri lanka which the other half said was gorgeous, and had a nice little kick, lovely soft garlic naan and fluffy onion bhajis which were hot, tasty and moreish. We polished the lot off. Cost just over £16 so excellent value. Highly recommend.

This is a very nice indian takeaway, as good as any around.The chicken dupiaza is to die for with veg pilau rice and lovely chapati s.The bombay potatoes are nice but ive had better but would highly recommend the food from this takeaway.We shall return again and again and again.

Decided to have a change & got my normal takeaway meal at the Haveli. It was very good and cheaper than my regular place so a win win.

This is one of the best Indian takeaways in the area. The food is resteraunt standard and very good. The staff are friendly and good crack try the food it's worth its well worth it.

As a local to the village this is situated, we always like to support local businesses and this is no exception. The food is always of the highest quality and whilst my wife and I are not adventurous when it comes to Indian cuisine, what we do get is always cooked perfectly and a quality meal. Staff are all very friendly and chatty, willing to help with menu choices and will explain how food is prepared to help explain better. Parking outside is a massive plus. Order by phone, online and they even have an APP available on IOS and Android! Whether you are visiting the village or from further afield, Haveli should be a place you plan to visit.

We’ve been visiting Haveli in Great Lumley regularly since they opened and have never been disappointed. Restaurant quality food. Good sized portions. Great tasting food. Large menu. The best Indian food for miles around.

We decided to give Haveli a go based on the many favourable reviews on TA. ( We ignored the single bad review from someone who allegedly had been many times and had great food but only bothered to review the one ' poor ' experience..... Hhhmmm.... )

Have had many excellent takeaways from here but last nights meal was below standard. Three very small garlic prawns as a starter, over cooked and chewy. The balti sauce was delicious but the lamb was over cooked and very tough. Chicken shaslick was delicious but had half the chicken usually served in the portion, it was mainly onions and peppers.

Decided to try Havelli after so many recommendations and I’m very pleased we did. Excellent phone manner when I phoned in the order and the food was delivered really quickly and it was piping hot and delicious. My partner only likes korma which I usually find far too insipid, but I tasted a little of the sauce and it was really delicious - a depth of flavour, with a little kick. Now I’ll be ordering korma too! The only little downside was the naan bread which was a little soggy for our taste - possibly due to the way it was kept warm in transit. It won’t stop us ordering again though, the best Indian takeaway by far - give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Food was absolutely outstanding, the menu was also excellent as each item available was detailed with the ingredients and level of Spice. I was shocked at how cheap the food is including the delivery fee and the food was said to arrive in 45 minutes but took about 25 and I don't live very close by. I have recommended haveli to my family

As longstanding customers of Le Raaj, we felt like the quality of food was going downhill to the point where we stopped going. The owner Sofed of Haveli used to own Le Raaj but has now set up this beautiful takeaway in Great Lumley & his chef has followed him. Decided to try here after reading great reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. First impressions when you enter the takeaway is that you have entered a very contemporary boutique hotel reception area - very smart. Sofed & his son greeted me like a long lost friend and were so pleased to see me. The food was absolutely superb, freshly cooked, nice crisp poppadoms, lovely onion bhajis, lamb tikka with chicken tikka dansak mains - just how we remembered it. Also great value for money. Will definitely be back.

The dishes on the menu hint at something different, and it is. However, I found the 2 mains we had were a bit bland, and lacking in salt. I'm OK about the salt, I'd prefer to not be overdosed on it like some places and add my own, now that I know. We were sufficiently impressed to want to return, but I'd ask for something with stronger flavours next time. Unfortunately some places think flavour means heat, so simply add more chilli powder ! I'm hoping haveli knows the difference ! Nice service as well.

Have had a few meals from Haveli and I must say......... absolutely faultless food every time. No more expensive than any of the takeaways and the waiting area and kitchen are cleaner than most people's houses! Really can't pick holes in anything to do with this Indian. Keep it up you lot!

Ordered the "Chefs Sp" curry from the Chefs Recommendation section with plain rice, since I like to taste my curry more than a flavored rice.

This is by far the best Indian food take away I have come across. A new modern unit in a small village is a jewel on the crown of the front street. Food is excellent quality and very flavourful and not at all expensive. I cannot really recommend a particular dish because I have had only a few different ones and they gave all been great. The staff are very helpful and willing to help if your not sure what you want.

We used this takeaway for the first time and so pleased we did. I came to visit my mum and she mentioned this new takeaway. We have previously used the Le Raaj but tried here instead. The service was friendly when we picked up and they even offered to carry the box out to the car. The food was delicious and tasty. The portions are great and not one dish was poor. Value for money considering how much food we ordered. I can't wait to visit mum again so I can have another takeaway from here.

Le Raaj was, formerly, our favourite Indian restaurant in the area and the food was superb. The former owner and chefs have moved on and set up Haveli in the little village of Great Lumley and it is fair to say that they have brought the best of Le Raaj food to Haveli. We have been several times now and each time have been delighted by the quality and value for money of the food.

Ordered a take away from Haveli, delivered very quickly and it was delicious. I would particularly recommend the Tarka Dhal

Haveli has almost become our Saturday night staple and who would blame us? All the dishes we've tried (which is almost the whole menu) have been fresh, tasty and generous (plenty of meat and veggies etc.)

Our new favourite Indian takeaway . Been here half a dozen times already. We have tried multiple things on the menu. Every time has been excellent. My wife, mum and dad agree too.

This is a new Indian takeaway, right on our doorstep, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi with Pillau rice and also Onion Bhaji's and Tandoori King Prawns by telephone. All very tasty (The onion bhaji's could do with a bit more onion in them!!).
