The best restaurants serving Indian food in Southend-on-Sea East of England

Doesn’t look much from the outside, same for the decor, but food was amazing!! So much nicer than the curry house we’ve been using for years! Will definitely return!!

Me and my family visited here yesterday and I was impressed with the food and the service. Clean throughout, tastefully decorated and professional staff. Kids had grilled chicken burgers which were prepared upon order and I shared the Paya curry with my husband which was accompanied by hot fluffy naan bread. I have not enjoyed a restaurant meal for some time and if I go Southend again I will be eating here again for sure. Pleasant oasis tucked away from the mayhem of Southend . Definitely worth a visit

Ordered this with the family, my mums partner Craig recommended this while I’m back from university for the Christmas break and I would honestly say this was one of the best Indian takeaways I’ve had, great flavour, arrived on time and great service overall.

We found this place for a take away by chance, and so glad we did! Every mouthful of the mixed grill was sensational, lamb and spinach - one of our favourites - was THE best ever. The portions were very generous and the price extremely reasonable. We live in Nottingham where there are plenty of Asian restaurants and there isn't anywhere that even comes close to Indian Chefs. One star off because we didn't experience the service or atmosphere.

Just good enough when you want it

The very best. Clean quality fresh food that is not swimming in fat. Lovely people. Great value. The Sunday buffet, is outstanding value for money. I promise, you will not be disappointed. Murray Taylor

I would give this zero stars if there was an option! The restaurant may serve better food but I doubt it, we had a takeaway and it was awful. I’ve never seen a runny korma in my life but this one was. My dhansak was no better, or the side dishes. There were no saving graces and we wished we hadn’t wasted our money on what was quite an expensive take away. Bombay potatoes were the wrong type of potato - floury and disintegrating. No fresh flavour to anything . Couldn’t have been more disappointed

Went to Hasina for the first time in such a long time after moving out of Leigh. It was great to be back the food is actually better than I remember! So delicious & fresh will definitely be going back soon & have already messaged all my friends to go out for dinner. Would definitely recommend

Wow , we ordered many different curry’s and sides . Every dish had beautiful flavours, well done

Pre-ordered online hours before they opened for a set time delivery. Order confirmed but arrived 30 minutes late. Judging by the fact that after calling the restaurant they told me the driver had left 15/20 mins ago and the actual time it arrived - the food was only Luke warm and had to be reheated, which is never ideal. The containers were messy with oil/grease and the Nan bread was inedible. The starters were ok although the Samosas were incredibly greasy. The mains were quite bland and I swear mine tasted of Tomato Soup. Overall, an unpleasant experience which we will NEVER repeat.

Best india restaurant I've been the area. The food is always fresh and tasty and although a small venue it's a lovely atmosphere highly recommended

The Onion Bhajee at Mamataz Tandoori is a crowd-pleaser! Crispy, light, and bursting with flavor.

Visited with family including two children and one disabled member. All were well accommodated . Pleasant experience as always.
