The best restaurants serving Indian food in Mansfield East Midlands

My last experience was a while ago but i will review it again soon as I have booked a table for myself and my girlfriend on Valentines day 2025.

worst indian we have ever had delivered. No flavour, lamb really fatty ended up putting it all in the bin apart from the starter. Love curry but wont be getting it from here again. £35 wasted

Got a cheap groupon deal and wasn't expecting a lot to be fair but I was surprised how good it was, the food was really good, the lamb malaya and butter chicken were packed full of flavour, starter was lovely. Owner was a great guy and very friendly as was the waitress, she was very prompt and helpful. I could also tell the food was lighter on the stomach, less saturated fat etc which is a definite positive, too many indian restaurants make your stomach feel rough the next day. I fully recommend and will definitely be going back. Thanks

I am really surprised this place is still trading, there was 24 of us in a party booked for 7 o'clock,all the food was pre-booked days before,we arrived early travelling from Leicester ordered drinks not a problem, when the food was ordered we asked for the starters to be brought out with all the food so that people wouldn't be waiting because only 4 had starters they said they couldn't do that,but all this while they were pushing the drinks, the place was very noisy, the fire alarm went off 5 times whilst we were there which they didn't seem bothered about, staff were running up the only stairs with food passing customer's going to the toilet, when we finally got our main course at 9 o'clock it was cold and my wife counted 3 piece's of chicken on her dish which to be honest didn't look very appetising, after sending food back to be reheated it still came back cold, after complaining to the manager who was very arrogant and obnoxious he said that we were trouble soon as we arrived. So if you want to go somewhere and get rat arsed and really not bothered what you eat this could be the place for you but not me.

Always an amazing experience whether eating in or taking away. The food is consistently brilliant every time and the staff are so friendly. The dining room is laid out so that it's never too busy.

Now Spice Cottage, I ate on Friday with a friend and it was truly delicious. My mate ordered phall which isn’t even on the menu, I had a chef’s special that I hadn’t heard of before and after being told it was quite spicy they turned down the temperature to a bit below madras which the waiter suggested to me. Starters were ace too, bread and rice tip top. Also the wine was cheap because you take your own!

Poor customer service, filthy and treat their staff unfairly. Pay £4.50 a hour if in a good mood, calls them names, threaten their friends and family and then sacks them with no warning or explanation or pay. Feel sorry for their staff :( #neveragain

My favourite curry house top food on time always warm and very tasty

Meal with 2 friends. I arrived before my friends who were 10 minutes late. There clearly were insufficient tables available I felt pressured into leaving as I was asked several times whether my friends were coming. When my friends arrived we sat on the seats waiting to be shown to a table/ offered drinks, after a while we asked for a drink and a table which seemed to throw the staff as they cousin’s a table for us. After a while we were shown to a table upstairs in cold side room on our own. Waited a for too Long and we had to ask for poppodoms. Then we had to find someone and ask to order our mains, two meals arrived but were plonked down and more or less skidded across the table to us with no eye contact or acknowledgment. My meal arrived a few minutes later and was plonked on the table at which stage I felt as though I really didn’t want to be there. I ate it it was good but my friends meals were very good taste wise. We waited for further service which didn’t happen. Asked someone for our bill, we went to the bar to pay as it didn’t come straight away and I was concerned that no one cared enough to help us again. Paid at the bar, I commented that I hadnt been asked whether we enjoyed the meal. Person taking money said he thought that we had already been asked. I asked him if he wanted to ask me which he then did I exp the above he said sorry and stuck out his hand for me to shake. I informed him that we had received poor service and he hadn’t been interested in asking about our experience and still didn’t seem interested. We left. Have eaten there before with my wife who knows the owner and were treated satisfactorily. Will go back to the Chand next time, never going to give these rude and ignorant people my money. Very poor.

Best Indian in Mansfield I’ve never had a bad meal from here

We regularly order from here because the food is always incredible, no matter what we choose. It never disappoints! However, tonight’s delivery experience has prompted me to leave this review, as the service seems to be getting worse and worse. The driver rang the doorbell, and I took the food from her within seconds. Despite me holding out the payment, she walked off toward her car without taking it. When I called her back, she acknowledged me but kept walking. Once she reached the car, she appeared to be on her phone, as her face was lit up by the screen. Meanwhile, I was left standing in the freezing cold, holding what was once hot food. By the time she finally returned to take payment, my meal had gone cold, and I had to reheat it. While the food remains excellent, I hope the restaurant ensures its delivery service meets the same high standards.

My advise to any one contemplating using this establishment is don't ,total arrogant staff, was told no doner meat available , when it was clearly visible on the spit. Hope this place closes soon
