The Clove takeaway in Mansfield

Had a takeaway delivery from the clove last night and it was delicious! The food arrived via a friendly delivery driver and the food was piping hot. The curries we had were so tasty and the chicken was perfect. We also had chips, rice and naans and they were great too. Would recommend the chicken tikka masala as this was the best I have had from a local takeaway. Thank you!

Lovely experience! Greeted really well on arrival by the owner which instantly went a long way. The food was beautifully cooked and prepared really well! The owner even rang me on the way home to apologise for giving me the wrong naan and offered to swap it. It wasn’t a problem at all but that kind of customer service is what makes businesses successful - will definitely order again 👍🏻👍🏻

It's my first time ordering from here. I ordered korma, tikka masala, rice, naan bread and a portion of onion bahjis. The portions are very generous and I could easily get myself 2 full meals from it. I have to be really honest though and say that the chicken within the sauces tasted burnt and overly salted and so did the Onion bahjis. It's a shame because I haven't eaten Korma or Tikka for several years and was really looking forward to it. The last time I ate either of these dishes it didn't have char grilled chicken in and definitely wasn't salty like this. The food arrived hot and well packaged, delivered by a friendly driver. However, I won't be ordering from here again.

Food wasn’t as expected,rice felt and tasted cheap like packing rice,no cheese in the naan,and when all the food was on the plate it was mostly damp with water,very disappointed and would like a refund

the food was tasteless, no flavours. Chicken tasted off or like it was reheated. naan bread was burnt and had no flavour, keema inside naan was shocking and looked like rabbit food. Poppadoms were soft and greasy, tasted like they had been left out for days. DO NOT WASTE MONEY - AVOID

first and last time ordering from here. ordered meat samosa, certainly didn't look like one and tasted full of salt. mango chutney was red with mint sauce in it? tasted awful. biryani was barely edible. shocking food!!!!

I have ordered food from The Clove restaurant and I paid as normal the food and the delivery fee trough the app as well. However, I have been called by someone from the restaurant after my order has been accepted and I was threatened that if I’m not going to pay extra money to the driver off the records, not trough the app, they will cancel the order as my address is to far and he is not going to send the driver that far for my food. He was very disrespectful as I refused to do that, if on the app I am charged x amount of money for transport I can’t see any reason why I should pay extra off the records. They cancelled the order straight away and now I have to wait for a refund for 3-5 working days, so my money are blocked. How can you ask to be ‘bribed’ so you can have your food??? Never again ordering from them.

Great food, very tasty and the food was hot when delivered.

Indian food (but no indian flavour) i got something else instead of what i ordered dono if they mixed or replaced it , and 5 paneer pakora i only had 3 ...

Appaling food. Ordered coconut rice and it was oily and very sweet with crispy lumps in it, probably sugar. Chicken bhuna & chicken korma were tasteless and the chips were oven chips. Avoid...

One curry was slightly greasy but the rest was lovely

Really terrible experience… again! I gave this restaurant the benefit of the doubt but I waited one hour for delivery only to be told that the food hadn’t been sent with the delivery driver and we were welcome to come and collect it instead! When I questioned this I was given a tonne of excuses, none of which made sense, no discount was offered for the inconvenience caused and the person at the other end of the phone hung up on me. Needless to say, this restaurant will not be getting a third chance and I will not be recommending them to anyone else!

Amazing food. Very polite customer service. All the food we ordered was perfect no mistakes with the food and tasty we all loved all the food we ordered. Quick delivery all the food was still hot and nothing was cold so just everything was perfect.

Food was late. It took 2hours 20mins instead of 45-60 mins. Tikka was rubbish. Korma was good. Chips were half a portion. Naan could have been bigger. Onion Bhajis were nice.

Absolutely gutted that my poppadoms were stale !! Got 5 pots of pickles and can’t eat them !! Not happy 😡 should be able to be refunded for inferior goods !!

Just spent 37 pound on 2 meals . The chicken is absolutely vile , dry and over cooked . And does not taste nice at all extremely disappointing.

First time ordering from here, ordered in app at 4:30pm, it stated it was to be delivered by 5:50pm or soon after but didn’t turn up until after 7pm. I understand the restaurant had an issue with a driver which was out of their control but some of the food was cold when it got to us. We were really hungry by the time it arrived so didn’t enjoy it as much. Quality was ok, some dishes good, others not so. I expected much higher quality for the price paid. Tubs were mainly filled with sauce, not as much meat as other takeaways. Sorry to say we were disappointed over all.

Food was OK but not great, samosas were the worst I've ever had though, dry mince in hard pastry! Also was told by delivery driver I had to pay him an extra £1 as it was over 4 miles but they had my address when the order was placed!

Ordered at 6pm and food didn’t arrive until 9pm. On calling the restaurant they just said sorry we have been busy!! Try telling that to my kids that were past being hungry. Won’t be ordering from here again!

Disgusting place with rude owner with a bad attitude and rude staff! They know nothing about quality food cant even cook!?Rubbish Curries, Horrible Food! Absolutely dire, awful! Food not even cooked properly and my grandson's meat in his curry wasn't even cooked through! Greasy oily, unhygienic found hairs in my curry! Food absolutely Disgusting. Dirty Dingy place! We both felt very ill after eating here! Avoid this place unless you want to end up in hospital with Food poisoning. Rubbish place, Don't eat here!!! AVOID!!!

I'm sorry to say our first (and last) experience with The Clove was last Saturday when we ordered to collect and were told it would be 45 minutes, which we thought was perhaps a good sign because they were busy at 6.45pm. We arrived on time and were told they were running late and hadn't started preparing our food yet, sorry but would we wait. It took 15 minutes or so to cook and we were charged 25% more than the menu showed which I'd picked up just a week earlier. When challenged the owner said the menu was 3 years old and they hadn't had any printed because of Covid. We got home and the naan bread was burned on one side, the onion bhajis were so tough we had to break into them with really sharp knives (I think they'd stood a long time under heat lamps), the salad supplied with the bhajis was about a quarter of a tomato, 4 pieces of cucumber and a load of raw onion. There was more sauce than I've ever had in a curry dish before although I'm not a big meat eater so that wasn't too bad for me - I did throw half of it away though. We'd hoped it would be a good experience because we recently moved home and it's our closest Indian takeaway but if this is typical of the food and service we won't be returning. I think we could dine in locally for the same cost and better food.

Not only was the food late they actually had the cheek to call you back and say you owe the driver an additional pound for delivery. 1 curry, 1 rice, 1 naan bread and a pickle tray was already £22.25! Greed has lost you this customer as I won't be ordering from there again 👎🏾

20 mins after placing my order I received a lovely phone call from the restaurant to state their delivery driver doesn’t want to drive to my house without extra payment, when I declined to pay extra cash to their driver they informed me all future orders from me will be declined… If you don’t want to deliver to me then don’t advertise to me! I’ve already paid their delivery fee via just eat, I should not and will not be charged further after they have accepted my order, made worse by the fact I couldn’t cancel as they had already stated my meal. As for the food, I was naturally dubious as I don’t like to upset the people who handle my food haha - but I was a brave man and I have to say it was delicious, was piping hot and very generous portions. Just hope they didn’t tamper with it haha. Shame as I would have happily ordered here again, but the poor service means I will not be returning, not that they will accept my orders anyway haha. May only be £1 but that £1 today has cost you any future orders from me and I will only be passing negative comments on to my family and friends, I think you need to rethink this “after charge” as it’s likely costing your business more than £1

They charged me more than what was written in the menu paper that they gave me. Kashmiri Rogan Josh with lamb on the menu was around 7.80 but I paid 9.20. I let it go though but the curry did not taste good.

Both me and my partner absolutely loved our meal, already ordered a few times before and has always been great but just never left a review. Would defo recommend this Place, 10/10 my go to restaurant for a tasty and good priced Indian ✨

Normally have the Rohan Josh but was way too spicy today to the point where I couldn’t eat it all.

The flavour of the food is lovely, however the quality of the chicken is so poor. Hard chunks of chicken, just let's the whole meal down.
