Waterlily Restaurant in Mansfield

Portion sizes 5 and delivery/driver 5* however I felt slightly disappointed with the food. I ordered garlic rice which wasn’t garlicy at all, neither was the naan. Onion bhajis tasted like they’d been fried then left a while, fried and left a while, then fried again. I ended up leaving majority of my meal and feeling as hungry as I was before:( sorry

The mixed grill was burnt. My partner couldn't eat it. Chips cold. Nan cold. Mine wasnt has bad not worth the money at all especially the mixed grill at £17

Nice food but overall but only 5 pieces of chicken in a £15 dish was shocking.

Higher prices, less food, 3 chunks of chicken in a curry that along with rice and naan costs over £20 is a bit ridiculous

ordered a chicken korahi it came with 1 piece of red and green pepper, 4 pieces of chicken and about 20 slices of onion. the bonus was some sort of thin plastic wrapping.

When searching for an Indian cuisine restaurant on Google for a birthday dinner, we came across Water Lily. I reserved a table for a Monday evening, and from the moment we arrived, the place exuded a warm and welcoming vibe—from the exterior lighting to the cozy ambience inside. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and seated in the lounge, where our drinks order was taken before we were led to our table. Our usual cocktails—Sex on the Beach, Long Island Iced Tea, and Pina Colada—along with a beer, were served promptly, followed by our starters order. To our surprise, the starters arrived quickly, and our main course order was taken shortly after. The restaurant boasts a stunning lakeside view, elegant antique dim-hanging lights, and unique color-changing table lamps, which, along with the well-arranged seating, and light music created a beautiful setting. With both ground and upper floors, the place can accommodate large crowds, and we were informed that they host belly dance performances on weekends. For starters, we ordered Chicken Tikka, Amritsari Fish, King Prawn Puri, and Garlic Mushroom—each dish was absolutely delicious. Though we were already quite full, we couldn't resist ordering more. We went for Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Mirchi Raja Naga, and Garlic Naan. When the menu says "spicy," they truly mean it! The fiery heat, the tingling tongue, and the bold flavors left an unforgettable impression. It was, without a doubt, some of the best Indian food I’ve had in a long time. The staff was incredibly courteous, and the customer service was exceptional. If you're a fan of Indian cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit, and I can’t wait to return! Highly recommended!

Again this Indian is the best quality the best price the best customer service best delivery service.. the stamps you get every time you order go to a big saving and then another 20%+ after that it’s just brilliant.. the food is outstanding proportion size are great the taste quality literally everything is amazing.. I’m a massive fan of Indian food iv tried most in Mansfield and the surrounding areas, but this one by far for everything iv said above is the best ! It’s a pleasure every time 5⭐️

Ordered takeaway, arrived quickly almost within the hour food was lovely but I think they delivered the wrong curry. Chicken makhani specifically selected hot but came very light in colour creamy taste and with spinach in zero heat but it was flavour full. Partner had lamb tandoori, more heat than the makhani but again tasty lamb plenty of it. Bhaji, nan all good poppadoms slightly stale but the pickles n onion salad tasted fresh

Had a great dinner from here whilst visiting from London, just a shame we can’t have it again and again! So beautiful inside and the food was spectacular. Really big portions and very tasty. Such a good price for amazing food! Definitely recommend

PICKLE TRAY!! PICKLE TRAY!! I've been to Waterlily twice now and the food has been fantastic, and the staff have been wonderful. The only issue I have is that both occasions have been on a Saturday. Now, I'm in my mid 40s so this is a purely a curmudgeonly middle aged man issue, because as much as I enjoyed the food and the service, I did not enjoy the experience overall for one reason; the volume! Turns out there's a DJ every Saturday and the music is so loud that you can't hear anything. You can't talk to the people you're there with, and it made getting orders in, and the dishes themselves, an incredibly stressful time. I do plan on coming back in the week when it's quieter as I did really enjoy the food and the service, but if I ever get invited there on a Saturday again then it's a no from me!

Went out for a Birthday meal and it was our first visit. It was quiet but the staff were super friendly and the food was excellent. Best indian meal I've had in a long time. The owner was also chef for the evening and we had a nice chat with him. We will be back!

The masala is mealy, the texture of it is incredibly thick and grainy. This is not the texture of a tikka masala.

Been here a few times always nice, But after a Saturday night experience not very good. We arrived at 8.15 table booked for 8.30 stood waiting about no one on meet and greet desk asked 4 different staff what we do.. Finally got sat down about 9ish so half hour late took a while for someone to come over and take order and then after all that got food about 9.45 and the food was cold. Couldn’t be bothered to say as we’d already waited a while and was very hungry and getting on a bit with time. Disappointed as this is usually very nice. I think they need more staff or organisation on a sat night.

All food was cold, mixed kebab was incredibly small for £7.10, “butter chicken” was very bland tasted like and looked like a korma. Only 4 pieces of chicken in the Tikka Masala. It’s a shame as lovely food if you eat in restaurant.

Poor communication. Tried to call the restaurant several times and got answer phone (left a message) and then other times it just rang and rang!! This can’t be right!! How do they accept bookings if they don’t answer the phone??? We won’t ever use them again.

always order from here for Indian for over 10 years .tonights curry was hotter than normal.was making mouth very much on fire .and the chicken in the tikka masala was very much over cooked .still eaten ,but spoilt with the hotness of it all

Service and food was amazing, speedy service and all in all a great experience. Came on a Friday evening so we were a bit disappointed about there being a DJ blasting music throughout the rest but other than that it was amazing.

it takes a lot for me to review a poor review however this place is the worst indian in mansfield please AVOID. rats everywhere outside and near the kitchen, the staff are so rude (the only nice staff were the young english girls) and looked down their nose at us.

honestly i’m disgusted, first of all the food was awful and the plates and cutlery were filthy. hands down the worst indian i’ve ever had. the only good thing i have to say about this place is the service i received from the young english girls, they went above and beyond!! the way the older staff spoke to them was vile, shouting and belittling them in front of customers, i’ve never seen anything like it!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS

There was an item missing from the order tonight but a quick phone call and the missing item was immediately sent out with many apologies. Excellent service as usual guys, thanks. Be back soon. 😎

The butter chicken wasn’t the best I’ve had

I hate to be negative with this place because normally it’s extremely good. But tonight wasn’t good at all. Well over 2 hours for delivery and the food was very oily and needed re heating . I’m only being honest. Like I said 9/10 its stunning food and great service all round. I tried to contact the restaurant several times to cancel because it was just too late but couldn’t get through.i know next time will be a better experience.

Valentines night , food great , service from Isabella and especially Roberta , excellent ….speed of food poor … 1 hour 40 mins for main course … tables who came in an hour after we did got the mains before us … after asking where our food was I was patronised by a male owner telling me I was wrong … if is wasn’t for the fact that I had injected insulin ( as I am diabetic) to be able to eat … we would have walked out …. Pity the owner hasn’t got the customer service skills that Roberta and Isabella have . Poor service at Christmas , came this time to give them another chance … to be let down

I have read such great reviews and was looking forward to trying Waterlily for Indian food. The driver handed me my bag and I was impressed by the packaging. I wondered if it would be warm by how airy and open it looked. I know it’s Valentine’s Day and probably busy, but my Tarka Dal main was the same size as my sides and all of them were the small containers and were half, to just over half full. I looked for a second Tarka dal container! I was so gutted. The dishes were watery. Taste was okay

Longest time ive had to wait for a takeaway absolutely terrible

Went tonight for family valentines meal with our 2 children and was so disappointed 😕 we waited over 2 hours for our mains! Got there at 6pm ordered drinks, was given no menu until about 15 minutes later. Ordered drinks and food, had to chase my husbands drink as i had nearly finished mine by time his came. Had poppadoms shortly after we arrived but after we kept asking how long mains was going to be as kids were getting tired and after saying we were leaving as not waiting anymore for food it came out after 8pm! we had gone past being hungry for mains. The food wasn’t great, nan all burnt. Husband paid bill and realized after he had paid they hadnt took deposit off so he had to go back in. I have been going here years and its always been lovely. I think it was just too overbooked and was struggling with all people in restaurant and online orders.

Was luke warm, very little meat and the meat you did get was chewy and fatty. The korma was also extremely sweet. Will not go there again.

never arrived i would never order from here again they don't even answer the phone when calling to see where it is tell me times but don't even arrive asking for my money back not holding my breath

when called restaurant first couldn't find my order then lied said it was out for delivery. 40 mins later turns up barely hot

Very late. No apology, no explanation. Food is mostly cold. Ordered just after 5pm so not the busiest part of the night. Given the amount of curry houses around these parts I certainly won't be spending any money here again.

The food was freezing, the chips were soggy and it was an hour late the lamb was tough it went in the bin

Apart from my wife receiving a korma instead of a butter chicken it was nice and delivery was early. Perhaps next time just double check the order.

The WORST food I’ve ever had from a takeaway! It was cold, bland, tasted of dry paste and no actual flavour, the tikka sauce was just like tomato puree! Samosas were soggy, only thing edible was poppadoms and mango chutney. Never again
