Lovely food, great service and a pleasant atmosphere.

The food was great as we've come to expect, the service was faultless, again as we've come to expect, and the overall atmosphere was that of content diners enjoying the food and the company of those they were dining with. The only cautionary note I'd make is that this isn't a cheap place to dine, but very few places are anymore.

We felt very rushed to order, finish eating and leave! The restaurant is very dark, it was difficult to read the menu, phone torches were used. The food itself was good but not an enjoyable evening due to the service. I wouldn't go again.

After being a loyal customer for years, using the restaurant for family celebrations and always rating this place as the best, I can honestly say I will NEVER come back again. Tried to order my usual tandoori mixed grill online, cost is £14.95 on uber Eats but they have added a mandatory extra curry sauce ot £3.50 to the menu option. You can't omit it, you have to add it to be able to progress the order. I called the resturant to see if there had been an error with the way it was added to the site as surely the sauce at additional cost should be optional, to be told,no this is correct and you have to order a side of curry sauce with this dish now and that they've had a new chef. TANDOORI Mixed grill is a DRY dish and thats why I like it, it's a dry dish at every other takeaway/resturant I've been to too. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered anyway as they agreed just this one time I could pay for that dish over the phone without the sauce, but it would now cost £15.50! Not a massive difference I know but still an increase on the online menu price. The food arrived and it was poor and substandard. The Meat was dry and overcooked. The chicken balti bhuna was runny and tasteless and the food was luke warm at best. Even the nan bread was poor. What used to be a great resturant has really gone down hill with really poor customer service. Such a shame, but I won't be spending there again that's for sure

Absolutely amazing, best Indian around.

Ordered a couple of dishes and both are swimming in oil. One was replaced and was worse than the first one. Apparently there is a new chef and I'm hearing nothing but bad reviews on the last few days.

Great staff.. we needed to add 4 people to our table, the staff I spoke to were incredibly helpful and managed to fit us in. We all enjoyed the food, We had a variety of dishes that everyone enjoyed. The restaurant was very busy so we did have to wait a short while for food but we weren’t in any hurry. Our only moan would’ve been about the music, not the content or the fact that there was a dj but it was so loud, every so often it seemed to get louder, making it impossible to hear conversation. However, we had a very enjoyable experience and would recommend to others. Thankyou.

Food was cold. Too much garlic on garlic nan was soggy. Mild pathia so hot it went in bin. Veg in rice uncooked. Something different in the onion salad left a strange taste. Very disappointed

After ringing up to find out where the order was as it was late and then being cut off so had to ring back again to be told our order would be on its way. We still had to wait another 15 minutes until it arrived and we had to reheat our food up as it was cold.. Asked for a partial refund which was denied as restaurant messaged to say they were busy. If this was the case then don’t give a 20-30 minute wait time. Please give a more accurate and realistic time orders will arrive! Very poor

The lamb was very chewy and tasted more like mutton.. very disappointing

we have water lilly and it's lovely, on this occasion the order was late, went to the wrong address, food wasn't piping hot. I ordered a lamb rogan. 5 tiny bits in a pot for over £5.00. Hopefully this was a blip and I shall have the food again as it is really nice tasting food. definitely not be having the lamb rogan agenda mind you.

Beautiful food very tasty! It was nice to order from somewhere that doesn’t loads their dishes with chopped onions. We will definitely order from here next time 😃 very polite delivery driver too.

Curry was salty and tasted of gravy, rang and they replaced it tasted the same. Rang for a refund manager argued with us and refused a refund, saying it tasted fine to him. Went in the bin waste of £39.

We were impressed by the food and service

Usually decent but £38 wasted unfortunately on takeaway. Both curries salty and tasted of Bisto and nothing else. Rang up and they replaced them, but everything else Naan etc was cold by the time they arrived, and they were the same. Manager argued he'd tasted them before it left, off our list permanently. Starter was nice, shame as its usually good. Refused to refund any of the money.

Only gave 1 because 0 wasn’t an option. This was our favourite Indian- not anymore!! Husbands meal had undercooked raw in the middle chicken. Not good. Only to be told by the manager ‘that the clay oven sometimes doesn’t cook it properly so it happens’ not good enough. I believe the managers father is a local GP and does work there occasionally so they should fully understand the serious consequences of food poisoning. Reported to the council and will NEVER go back. I will say that the waitress that served us was 10/10. But that doesn’t undo the raw food and lack of accepting responsibility by the manager. You need to do better.

This place really has got it all. The atmosphere in here on a Saturday night is so warm and enjoyable; I've never sat down at any eatery before to the greatest hits of the last 5 decades. The DJ in here really is something else. The staff here are absolutely fantastic; Molly the hostess was so welcoming and attentive - I even got a birthday card and some Baileys for the table! Touch 'O' class. Now for the main event: the food at Water Lilly is out of this world. The best curry I've ever eaten in my entire life - and im not shy with the curries - with the tastiest pickle trays and sides to accompany and the prices are so reasonable. A table of Four, who spared no thought for the price tag when it came to ordering all the drinks we could manage - sides and desserts to boot, ate here for Forty quid a pop. There's no way this resteraunt deserves anything less than 5 stars, we're certainly going to be regulars! I can't believe we waited so long to try it, thank you so much to Molly and the team for making my birthday enjoyable!

Delivery was ment to be 19.05 it actually arrived 17.50 food was almost cold

We were put in a room with a load of roudy people. Can't comment on the food because we walked out after waiting 90 minutes for our order. Very poor experience.

It’s a shame because normally we’ve always had a nice meal but I certainly wouldn’t recommend big tables/celebrating an occasion here. Unfortunately a few months back I decided to have my baby shower here, I booked a table for around 19 people many months in advance, paid £100 deposit and asked for a separate table for my gifts and cake to which everything was agreed. The day of my baby shower I arrived to a extremely small table to seat 19 and I asked where my gift table was… I was told I didn’t have one as the restaurant was ‘fully booked’ I argued the point that I had paid a deposit to reserve what I needed which I was promised a table for my gifts and cake and even provided texts with the manager which confirmed this, but I was told I couldn’t have one as there wasn’t one available so my gifts and my cake had to go on the floor as the table had been so scrunched up to fit my guests on we couldn’t put it there either. They never asked us for a pre order when I booked which I said I would be happy to provide but they said they didn’t need one but obviously they should have as we waited 90+ minutes for our meal and had several things missing, when I complained I was told this is what happens with big tables and I’ll just have to wait as a 90 minute wait for this size table is normal… I disagree and said this is why you preorder… safe to say by the end of the night I was extremely tried, fed up and being heavily pregnant I just wanted to go home. I asked to speak to the manager that I booked with to feedback how disappointed I was but was told he was too busy & never came. And lastly I kept an eye on a table that was vacant ALL NIGHT and was never seated, I made the point of pointing this table out to my server and said I could have had that table for my presents and cake like I booked, I was met with a shrug and a very uninterested ‘sorry’ and that was it. My baby shower was ruined, I didn’t have a good time, all my guests were frustrated and all of us said we wouldn’t return. Such a shame as it was always one of my favourite restaurants but they were more interested in having as many people in as possible rather than looking after the ones they had, they were absolutely struggling to keep up with capacity. Not the way to run a restaurant if you want return custom. I am editing this review due to me being unable to reply to the owners response below:- An additional table for gifts was absolutely promised by you as if it wasn’t I would have booked elsewhere, I have the text messages to prove this as nothing was said about the possibility of not having a gift table and as I said there were tables free all night that I kept an eye on but you didn’t allocate this in the hopes you would fill with walk ins. You offered me the option of £300 to book a room for a whole function, I then explained I was only wanting to come for a meal, not the whole night, I have no issue with another table seated next to us but if you would have told me that would have meant squeezing 19 women onto 5/6 tables, again I would have gone elsewhere. I was never offered a set menu and wouldn’t have gone for this anyway as we wanted to eat from the regular menu, to which I knew there was a lot of us and I asked if you wanted a pre order which you didn’t due to it being a big party, and the food DID NOT take 45 minutes at all, that’s just an outright lie. And finally as I explained in my review, I asked to speak to the manager on the night after the meal, to which he never came as apprently he was too busy and believe it or not since then I’ve been too busy giving birth/having a newborn baby and have finally found the time to sit and write this review. There is 18 other people which could happily vouch for this experience we had but trying to lie on a reply to a review you think I can’t respond to is terrible service.

Amazing food and service, highly recommend

Food was late, popadoms were at least a day old and went great. Portion sizes were half the norm. Very disappointed in this occasion.

Genuinely disappointed, I’d heard such great things about this place so we wanted to give it a go. The food was later than was originally said. This being said, if the food was hot and tasty when it got here we wouldn’t have minded. Instead we got 1 curry that was piping hot and 1 that was Luke warm, the chips were soggy and undercooked and the naan and rice were ever so slightly warm. Shame really, might of been a bad night for them but can’t say I’ll stray from the local one again

Our first time from Waterlily, but it won't be our last. We may have found our new favourite Indian! All the food was fresh, hot, and plentiful. Even the salad came fresh and crisp, in a plastic tub...not squished and soggy in a food bag like most are. The flavours were rich, and the meat was beautifully tender. We even received a phone call apologising for the delay and saying they were only five minutes away...even though it wasn't late at all. Excellent all round service and experience 👍

The service was outstanding and the food was amazing, the place is absolutely immaculate. Was welcomed by a lovely gentleman who was wearing a white shirt and checkered trousers who made this experience from the start. The young girls, one had ginger and the other had long dark hair where brilliant at their jobs always there when you needed service. Will be be returning as always.

Poor meal. Tikka masala Half full, Bombay potatoes half full five potatoes topped up with sauce. chips cost £3.15 and where a inedible skinny fries. we've ordered previously and was overwhelmed don't know what happened tonight. we will not be ordering again 😒

Had poppadoms and pickles to start, lamb saag, pilau rice and keema nan. Freind had similar and 2 bottles of red wine came to around £80. Food was great, atmosphere was good but it was quiet, it was a Sunday evening so expected it to be quiet. Service was spot on and staff were friendly and helpful. Great outside space at the back with view of the pond. Will definitely eat here again and would recommend to anyone who like Indian food in nice surroundings.

An absolute gem, highly recommended

Something has changed here. I've never known an Indian restaurant to get your order wrong and then kind of question that, despite to order being taken on an app. But hey ho, maybe they're on a journey but there was quite a few basics missing on our visit. Waiters learning across the table, one passed as he put it a red hot dish to one guest... It was red hot why would you do that? We've always had exceptional service at this restaurant, we haven't been for a while because we moved house, we had a special occasion and went back to our experience, sadly for us things have changed. The wildlife is great but not everyone would be delighted to see a family of 5 or six rats running around the back patio. A few things need addressing here but I hope you turn them around.
