Waterlily Restaurant in Mansfield

Ordered a takeaway on February 17th 2024. Waterlilly is our go to place usually but I'm sorry to say we were extremely really disappointed. The food had no taste what so ever, we paid £28 complete waste of money! I rang the restaurant to raise the issue, the phone cut off, I tried calling back three times with no answer! So I left a message, no one has rung me back. I left a message on their Facebook account and have now been blocked! Completely unacceptable and poor customer service! I think its safe to say we won't be going here again! Wouldn't recommend at all after this experience.

We have been so happy with waterlily ever since it opened, but now it’s had a face lift and some finer touches it’s amazing , the Food is always on pint along with friendly staff keep up the great work .❤️

Another fantastic meal at Waterlily in Mansfield. The Waterlily never disappoints from the warm friendly greeting, the gorgeous cocktails made by Adim (especially the Pina Coladas) the great choice in menu with staff recommendations, the fast service, fantastic food, lovely view of the swans and of course the price! My partners 50th Birthday was made extra special by the team. Definitely worth a visit whether in the area or not, and whatever the occasion. Shocking customer service, paid a £40 deposit for 4 to book a table for over the Christmas period, I needed to cancel as we could not make it, left over a weeks notice to cancel the table and was refused a refund. Rang up several times and was told each time by a member of staff “I’m only a member of staff, I can’t give a refund” - was continuously told I needed to speak to the manager but apparently they were never available. Each phone call I was told they were very busy and to call back another time. I asked if they could call me back to arrange a refund but again, no one ever called me back. After finally speaking to the manager, I was then told we had to go into the building and get a refund through chip and pin as they were unable to give a refund over the phone. I was never told on the phone when booking the table that it would be a non-refundable deposit. Very poor customer service, will not be returning.

My wife says the Boro Chingri Roshni ( a tiger prawn dish) was the best curry she has ever had. For me, this was just to the excellent high standard I expect here. The food is always delicious, the service attentive without being overbearing.

I had Chicken Nagga and my wife had Lamb Tikka. Both were excellent!

Best indian in Mansfield! Always have a brilliant time at Waterlily and this time was no exception. Attentive staff & warm welcome. Food was lovely - we all had something different and each dish was perfect. Only comment to make was a lipstick mark on one of our wine glasses, but this is minor really and was corrected straight away. These things happen! All in all, a great experience and would recommend to anyone - nothing is too much trouble for them!

Amazing, food amazing service...we love it here as a family..my 7 Yr old always wants to come for dinner she gets treated like a princess...the little details make it really special.

Booked a table and was seated straight away, greeted by a lovely member of staff, and had a chat with us, food was beautiful as it was last time. All the staff are polite and lovely even though they are busy. Will be back again soon

Booked table for 8pm NYE, £20 deposit paid 7.50pm we arrived Told to sit down and wait near bar, ordered and paid drinks and bottle of wine,after waiting over an hour finally got to our table 9.05pm sat down then waited for menus 9.30pm waiter came over asking what we wanted, ordered food and drinks 10.00pm one meal comes out, then rushed another one out because mine was forgotten, my meal came out (lamb dopiaza) only describe came with a handful of frozen fries, one of the plates was covered in cracks 10.30pm asked for itemized bill, tried to charge us for the drinks again that we bought at the bar earlier, checked bill and 'forgot' to take deposit off, whole evening was shocking, waiters/workers running round and stressed, overall was not impressed and won't be in a rush to return, I'm not the only one to leave 1 star for tonight.

Came for new years, food and drinks were on point. aneesa at the bar was so lovely and accomadating, definitely going to come back

Booked in for new year's eve arrived to find they had no record of booking despite us having paid deposits we were just sat waiting and when asked if we wanted drinks we have our order but we weren't allowed a drink as we had no table . Eventually after 35 minutes we were told there was a table then took 45 minutes for our starters to come our mains then eventually came but we had chase for 10 minutes for cutlery the food was nice but wasn't great amounts of good in. We eventually finished after 3 hours arriving on time. Asked to speak to manager and their brother was sent who just wanted fob off with we'll look after you next time etc eventually gave us a tenner off As first Impressions count we will not be returning

Had an amazing time on New Year’s Eve!

Ordered through Just Eat; Wish I could leave a 0*!!! Pre-ordered yesterday (30/12) as we thought today (31/12) may be busy. Order was over an hour late to start with, rang the restaurant over 20 times with no answer and my wife leaving voicemails. The food came and was the wrong order, ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, I don’t have a clue what was in the boxes was definitely not Masala. Every single piece of food was cold, needed a minute in the microwave to warm through. Never returning here! Wouldn’t even give 1*.

Ordered via Foodhub (order num: 955654310). Said it would be 30 minutes if collected, which is why we chose it so we could get it then have a nice NYE. Arrived at the restaurant on time and had to wait over 40 minutes. We can half understand this, as there could have been a mismatch in the online system given how busy a night it is for restaurants. However we do take exception to the fact that the food was tepid when I got home (2.5 miles/7 minutes away). Given how cold the food was, we suspect that it had been ready at least about 20 minutes and forgotten about and sent out anyway. Completely unacceptable for anything that I’ve had to wait 40 minutes for. Pointless waste of 40 odd quid.

New years eve so it was was loud as to be expected. Food was luke warm and we had to use our dessert spoons for our mains even after requesting cutlery. Server's were over stressed and didn't appear well directed. Waited an hour between starter and main

Ordered a takeaway for New Year's Eve with over 24 hours notice and it arrived over an hour late. No communication from the restaurant. When we finally came to open it we had the wrong food delivered. Absolutely shocking service, never eat here.

Had a fantastic pre match meal at Waterlily. The food was very good and served in a timely manner, but the service was outstanding in particular Roberta who not only served us professionally but also made the experience even better with her kind and relaxed manner. Would definitely recommend 👌 👍

My first visit to this restaurant on the 28th December 2023 The staff were all excellent and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the service was extremely fast. A lovely restaurant with lovely staff I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend it too anyone

Have only given this two instead of one star due to food being ok but everything else was awful. Didn't order any starters and it took nearly 1 1/2 hours for mains for 10 of us to come out even though place was nearly empty. There was a strong smell of fustiness that didn't leave us all night not sure if because of flooding a couple of months ago but very off putting! Food came out in dribs and drabs kept waiting for rice etc. Had paid £100 deposit back in September over the phone that they insisted we pay. Didn't take this off the receipt. My friend informed them that I had paid this deposit so we paid the bill minus £100. Gave us some shots of Bailey's which seemed nice but think was to keep us hanging on trying to get us to have more drinks. when we finally got to the door stopped us leaving and waiter became aggressive saying we all needed to pay another £10. I informed him we had already paid this and he said he wanted to see a receipt even though we told him earlier had paid over phone and not been sent one. I then got quite angry as my friends were thinking I hadn't paid it!! Another waiter then came up and checked again and found the payment and apologised but this was all too late. DJ was also awful played a very strange mix of music for Christmas and had no personality. He looked totally fed up. Will not be returning!!

Food amazing over shadowed by being ripped off in terms of deposit. We had three people who couldn’t make it and they refused to refund the deposit even though they say us on a smaller table. The male manager was aggressive and intimidating to a group of females. Not good

Outstanding food and incredibly friendly service. The only downside was that the music was a bit too loud for comfortable conversation.

Very busy restaurant with a generally good atmosphere. Very tasty Indian food served without too much fuss, but the starters were delivered by what appeared to be a server in a bad mood. Starter Food was literally thrown onto our table. The next course was fine and service was excellent as we expected. Same server later dropped several Nan breads on stairs leading to next level, I don’t think his manager was impressed. Food good, portions good, Service variable, a solid 3 out of 4

Visited the Waterlily several times now in recent times and its never failed us, food always on point along with a great service, even during busy times, a little wait on food could be experienced, non the less, good things are worth waiting for! Great service guys definitely recommended.

We went for our anniversary meal and honestly had the best time. The food was out of this world, the garlic naan especially. Was a lovely atmosphere with a live singer. The staff where lovely and at the end of the night we received an anniversary card from them which just added to the experience. We will definitely be coming to visit again

Very noisy lourd music couldn’t here the waiter. We ordered poppadoms which come quickly but the pickle tray was bland the mango was so thin like water. I had chicken tikka which was nice, rice and chips. But the kema nann had a small piece of kema in. My husband ordered chicken dopiaza which we had to send back because it was undercooked and cold in the middle. They did swap it quick and apologise. But it put him off after that. Would not return sorry.

My friend and I had a fantastic evening at your restaurant, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was great and even the owner Molly came over introduced herself which was a lovely personal touch. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Thank you for a lovely dinning experience

Visited with my wife for anniversary and should have saved myself the money and treated her to a KFC instead. I get better service from my 3 year old in her play kitchen (and probably a better madras), the food isn’t anything to rave about either. We were genuinely excited to try Waterlily but after the less than mediocre night we received I don’t know why anybody would bother themselves. 1/5 at its best, will not be returning

We always go here special occasions and we visited for my mothers birthday. Table booking for 5pm when we arrived we was the only 5 people in the restaurant and they insisted seating us in the arrival area instead of straight at our table like normal and which we prefer. I’m Gluten Free and EVERY TIME we visit I order a Gluten Free Cobra and they tell me they don’t have, so why not take it off your drink’s menu if you don’t stock it anymore? So I ordered a Gluten Free Cobra and was brought a Cobra Zero luckily I noticed without taking a drink and they kindly swapped the drink. The waiters serving drinks have no clue about Gluten Free so be warned. Food was excellent as always and good portions. We chose not to have a starter just main course, we was still the only 5 people at this point and our food took 40-45 min to arrive and we was constantly being asked would we like another drink while waiting for food I’m thinking the what with the delay etc and constantly being asked if wanting more drinks that it’s a ploy to get you to spend more on drinks. We stopped going to our other favourite restaurant when this ploy started there too and never went back we won’t be going back here now either.

We have driven past this restaurant so many times and can’t believe we’d never noticed it . As Indian food is our favourite we decided to give it a try. OMG, what a find . The ambiance of the place was lovely , having a DJ made it extra special instead of the usual Indian restaurant music playing in the background. The service was fabulous, despite it being very busy . We were all blown away by the choices on the menu , we will have to keep returning to try every dish that we would like to try. There are the usual bhuna etc but so many more options. All the staff were a delight but the owner/manageress ? looking beautiful in a fabulous sari came to chat , ensuring that we were happy with our food , the mango kulfi to finish was so smooth and creamy , we couldn’t fault anything. Can’t wait to return 🥰

Lovely menu for all taste. Too much to choose from. Luxurious and friendly atmosphere. Great place to catch up with the family. Not overly expensive either. Can’t fault the waterlilly

Been here a few times over the years to meet up with old friends. Last night they were incredibly busy and clearly had more demand from tables and deliveries than capacity to deliver timely service. After a long wait for drinks and then to order and then to get food we were about to leave. We spoke to the manager who apologised profusely and convinced us to stay. Food and drinks then came immediately and was good quality. I guess you have to be patient. The service recovery means this place is still on to go to list for me and my local friends. Well done Water Lily.
