A solid 3.5, but there is no ambience and found it to be really pricey. We came in early on a Friday and the place was empty. The heaters were all off and the restaurant was quite cold Inside, we even had to wear our jackets for a while. There is little to no ambience, though the tablets are nicely set, there are makeshift walls or curtains blocking certain areas of the restaurant. The menu is extensive and had a lot of options, veggie and non veggie but it was REALLY pricey for what it was. We got two starters and they were both very small for £5 each, the main courses didn't come with Naan or rice, and each rice portion is super tiny for almost £3.5 . My Indian relatives would be in revolt if they ever saw the little amount of rice for that much. The food was nicely seasoned, though I missed some fresh coriander or lime. The service was extremely friendly and the highlight of the visit but with these prices I would not recommend it. There are many other options out there with a MUCH better value.

We were staying nearby at the Oatlands park hotel and walked to this curry house on our second night. It was early evening in a Sunday so there was only one other table occupied so it did lack a bit of atmosphere. But the restaurant was nicely furnished, modern and very spacious. The staff were friendly but didn’t speak much English. The menu is a bit more limited than a normal curry house but there was plenty to choose from. We were pleased with the lamb curry and Chicken tikka. Nice portion sizes and the peshwari nan was gorgeous. Average price.

The bad reviews on here seem to be historical, not recent. We had possibly the best curry and best service ever. For a 60th birthday treat we booked a night in Newcastle and took the curry train. It's something out of the ordinary, a bit of fun. We were met by lovely polite staff. After pre dinner drinks we were shown to our table where the starters arrived immediately. The restaurant was busy (midweek) and had good atmosphere. Service was very attentive at every table. The chicken tikka was easily the best I have tasted. Larger pieces of chicken than normal but because of that it was juicy and tender. Amazing king prawns too - huge and cooked to perfection. After a surprise birthday dessert brought out by the staff we were advised that the return train had been cancelled! Amazingly, the owner insisted that his son drive us all the way back to Newcastle and absolutely wouldn't accept any payment! Excellent food with superb service. We will be back, and will use the curry train again.
