The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Greek food

Kebab was very basic and chicken was dry and not a lot of it. Chips were rubbish and salad was tired. My daughter asked for a burger with no cheese and extra lettuce, she got extra cheese and no lettuce. I'm not going to be using Poppy's again. It's a shame, shouldn't be difficult for a very basic food type.

Busy Turkish Grill with pizza and other food available. Staff friendly and food great. Quite often it’s busy, so be prepared to wait a little longer than told, but it’s worth it in the end. Our recommendation is the Large Chicken Kebab with extra Halloumi. Make sure you eat the Halloumi first or it loses its gooeyness (sp.?). Have been a regular here for the past 18 months and still look forward to it. Would recommend.

Delicious Greek food - yum yum! We had a power cut last night near Skinningrove and so could not cook our prepared food for dinner. Hubby braved driving out looking for a take away and ended up in Guisborough as there was nowhere more local able to accept card payment (as he had no cash and all their card machines were also down) What a tasty surprise! The lamb and chicken kebabs, served with perfectly cooked fries (salad side and garlic mayo) were the best we’ve tasted from our surrounding villages. A great find and purely by chance - will definitely go for take away again from here.

Tenía 4 souvlakis de la furgoneta en un evento en una granja en Wirral. Me inspiró a cocinar mucha comida griega esta semana. Ojalá supiera lo que es la salsa amarilla, estaba deliciosa. Algunos han dicho que es salsa de curry pero no sabía a salsa de curry para mí y equilibró el tzatziki perfectamente. El tiempo de espera era nulo, pero luego fuimos justo antes de la hora del almuerzo.

Travelling from Nottingham, Bournemouth, Scotland and New Castle. We were looking forward to celebrating in the Greek restaurant. I booked the table for 6 several weeks ago, my reservation was confirmed! However, we arrived on Saturday 26 March in the evening, and the restaurant was closed !! I have had no email or phone call. Extremely disappointing!!

Al entrar en pocas mesas ocupadas, buen ambiente. La camarera nos dio un vaso de agua cada uno. Mi compañero pidió una botella de peroni que la misma camarera golpeó en la mesa junto con un vaso. Maleducado. Ella era miserable, e impaciente cuando tomó nuestra orden. Los entrantes eran agradables, chapuzones con pan caliente. Mi compañero tenía giros de pollo que estaba demasiado cocido, pollo siendo duro. Mis albóndigas eran promedio, bastante suaves para lo que se describió como casero. En general, bastante normal. Podría haber sido mejorado por el servicio al cliente mucho mejor por la camarera.

I ordered souvlaki chicken & dolmadakia for delivery. Came right on time. The chicken was moist & tender which is rare when ordering takeaway chicken. The tzatziki was glorious & the pita was soft, again a lovely surprise as it can be like cardboard. The dolmadakia was just like it is on holiday. Will definitely order from them again - outstanding.

I stayed here with my family in March 2025. Despite having booked and paid for the rooms in August 2024, via booking.com, when we phoned the week before staying we were told that they’d “lost all their booking.com bookings” and that we needed to book and pay again, which we did. We’ve tried in vain to get someone (booking.com, the hotel itself, and our credit card company) to refund our £100-odd we are owed, with no success. I think it’s something to do with the hotel variously being called the Lodge or the Olive, which is actually the pub. The hotel owners couldn’t have been more unhelpful if they’d tried. I don’t normally bother to leave reviews but while I’m here I’ll say that the beds were uncomfortable, the shower the weakest and with the most variable temperature I’ve ever had the misfortune to use, and there were random holes punched in the walls of more than one of the rooms. The location was convenient purely because we happened to be going to an event nearby. As far as I can tell, it’s the only hotel in Barnby Dun - as they say “in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king”, but to even describe this hotel as having one (functioning) eye is a stretch. Avoid if at all humanly possible!

The party element and dancing was really food, good was ok/average.

Restaurante tiene una asociación con un youtuber que quiere ser noticia. Fui con mi hija y mi compañero con su hijo de 10 años. Estamos expuestos, amenazados y sin comer. Solía ser un buen lugar que usábamos regularmente. Nunca más. ¡No vayas aquí!

Encontramos este restaurante excepcional mientras nos alojamos cerca y reservamos una mesa al pasar. El restaurante tiene una sensación encantadora y la comida es tan buena! Muy recomendable. Fuimos atendidos por Bruna que nos cuidó y sugirió opciones de una manera muy amable - una estrella total! No podemos hablar más del equipo. Pedimos ver al propietario que era de nuevo realmente genial, para hacerle saber lo especial que ha sido nuestra experiencia. No puedo esperar a volver.
