Called in for Tapas on a Friday night. amazing food, amazing value for money. Great atmosphere and fabulous service from the girls, as always.

This was our usual, pre-Christmas, family get together at BB - albeit minus grand-daughter but plus, for the first time, the family dog, who was well looked after Orders were taken promptly - by the waitress we had met on previous visits - and the starters appeared at the expected time. Then we could tell that something had gone wrong - as our 'mains' of those and other diners, did not appear. Eventually we learnt that there had been a genuine medical emergency in the kitchen - causing a 30 minutes delay. That gained our sympathy but a much earlier explanation would have been a good idea. Starters were fine - being of the usual quality but unfortunately there were aspects of the 'mains' that were not up to the usual standards - presumably due to the disruption in the kitchen. In fairness, to compensate for the delay, we were offered desserts 'on the house' but could not risk missing a train or being late for the school pick up respectively, plus the dog had been very patient for longer than expected to be needed (as had we known about the 30 minutes delay, he could have had a walk between courses) - so had to decline. Despite the issues, we did still pay the usual gratuity - as the problems were not down to our waitress and it must have been difficult for the kitchen staff with the head chef having to go off site in the middle of service.

Had a wonderful time at the black swan on Christmas Day!! Food was delicious & Victoria looked after us so well. Can’t wait to come back!!

Go early for the best choices, we arrived at 6ish and still had plenty of choices... This an amazing little shop. And they laughed at my joke (I told my son not to knock on the glass or he would scare the cakes) - anyone who can still have a sense of humour after a busy day must be doing something very right.

Great indian ,out of the way to find,but cosy hidden Gem

The food is very tasty. Recommend escargot for appetizer and the beef cheek for dinner. The atmosphere is dimly lit and a bit classy but not too price y or fancy. Next time I go will try the daily specials and french onion soup.

Me gustan las crepes (en lugar de las tortitas más gruesas de estilo americano) y vi este café desde la calle de abajo. Nos hubiera gustado sentarnos al lado de la ventana, pero una mesa de la ventana fue tomada y la otra no en uso como apilado con cajas. Tenía la crepe de arce y tocino, que estaba muy buena, la cantidad justa de tocino para darle un sabor salado sin agobiar el jarabe de arce. La joven que nos atendió fue muy agradable, y al notar que nos íbamos, dijo ‘adiós’ cuando nos fuimos, a pesar de que estaba ocupada.

We revisited Kirkgate & made sure to stop at Karpaty. The prices have gone up so two filled breads cost us £3. We had the apple, as well as sweet cheese & poppy seeds. Fillings weren't overly generous & the breads were somehow less soft & chewy as they were last time, & seemed more dry, but they were still decent. We bought back a bundt cake with yoghurt which was quite nice & moist. We especially liked the flaked almonds on the top. Would be nice to return to try their other cakes in future.

Primera vez en mucho tiempo. Nos quedamos muy impresionados de principio a fin. Mi aperitivo Bloody Mary era excelente (el propietario añade vino para mejorar el sabor) y la elección de bebidas es excelente, especialmente vino. El servicio fue excelente y eficiente y la transición de ordenar en la zona del bar a nuestra mesa muy suave. El restaurante estaba ocupado y el ambiente bullía. Teníamos el confit de tocino y entrantes de pechuga de paloma - ambos divinos; cordero y el pollo confit a seguir. Para terminar comimos queso y mi esposa comió pudín de toffee pegajoso. Delicioso, todo. Volveremos.

John St been for 1 st time to new coopers . Wow what a change . 6 pumps traditional . Plus 10 keg . Prices well you are up against taste or Rachel Reeves lol . 2.75 half to 10.80 a pint . Well strength matters to a mans labido . Food mains are 12.50 to 16.50 day menu . Nice food healthy on chips . ( Big chips not a lot . Lol . On the hole. Camra members not a bad choice of beers . I as a member would now recommend it again . Yet be causous if they have a beer festival . Not their own . Good start for new coopers if you like back ground music .

Been twice this am, now 8 am and its still shut ! This has been happening over the last mnth or so, they seem to keep their own hours , opening when its convenient for them. Very disappointed, a shame because their patisserie and sourdoughs are fantastic.
